[FoxNews] Gloria Lopez-Corona, 24, faces charges for Alien Smuggling
A U.S. lawful permanent resident was arrested on Wednesday after she allegedly attempted to smuggle a drugged child into the country through the Southern Border using a fake birth certificate, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Gloria Lopez-Corona, 24, from Mexico, attempted to enter the U.S. with a five-year-old boy through the San Luis port of entry in Arizona, where she presented a birth certificate that was revealed to be for a different child based on the age, as the birth certificate was for a two-year-old.
The child was determined to be an unaccompanied child from Mexico who was sedated. The child had been given melatonin gummies and was sleepy and disoriented. Homeland Security Investigations seized the items believed to have been used to drug the child.
Lopez-Corona later admitted she was not the child's mother and that the birth certificate was fake. Lopez-Corona said she was the mother to a two-year-old back home in Mexico. Immigration officials found the drugged five-year-old child's mother, Reyna Cecilia Hernandez Reyes.
Lopez-Corona claimed she was forced to smuggle the child into the U.S. by a person who threatened her family and that she did not contact police because "she did not trust the police in Mexico," according to the New York Post. She said she was told to drive to a location where the child was placed into a car seat in her back seat by an unnamed individual. The woman said she was offered $1,500 to transport the child but turned the money down.
The child at one point told agents "that he was given gummies by his mother," according to the outlet.
Reyes, a Mexican citizen, admitted to giving her child to an unknown woman to be smuggled into the U.S. Reyes, who the child was returned to, was charged in connection with the attempted smuggling.
The plan was to have the child taken to Reyes' husband in Los Angeles, according to the New York Post. The man was smuggled into the country three years ago. Federal agents later found that he was deported three times before his last entry.
Lopez-Corona, who was arrested by Homeland Security Investigations, faces charges for Alien Smuggling.
"This depraved individual drugged an innocent child and trafficked them into our country," Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to Fox News. "Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, DHS will protect children and stop the traffickers and smugglers that exploit children."
To be fair, it sounds like all except the child are depraved. What was the father to do with a little boy of five — one assumes, with four illegal entries under his belt already, that the father was there to work, whether legitimate work or criminal, which would leave him entirely too busy to concern himself with a child needing nearly full time care.

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) — The U.S. Attorney for the District of New Mexico says a total of 82 people have been charged through Thursday for unauthorized entry into the military’s new buffer zone along the border with Mexico.
The charges follow the recent establishment of a 170-mile long, 60-foot-wide National Defense Area on federal land adjacent to the border wall in New Mexico. Signs in English and Spanish have been posted along that stretch.
Migrants have been arrested on charges of unlawful entry of military property since at least April 24 -- though technically anyone, including U.S. citizens, could face sanctions. That has caused discomfort among leaders of civil rights organizations concerned about possible abuses and what they deem a "militarization" of border communities. Those "concerned" have demonstrated they don't give a damn about border security or national integrity. Using the term "militarization" is the stinking indication of their bias. I expect any day now yet another federal judge will issue a national injunction preventing the US Army from doing its duty.

[IsraelTimes] British police say they have arrested five men, including four Iranians, on suspicion of “terrorism offenses.”
The arrests were carried out in London, Swindon and the Greater Manchester area and were related to “a suspected plot to target a specific premises,” London’s Metropolitan Police says in a statement.
The men aged between 29 and 46 were arrested on suspicion of “preparation of a terrorist act” and remain in custody, the police say.
The nationality of one of the men is still being established, they say.
“This is a fast-moving investigation and we are working closely with those at the affected site to keep them updated,” says Metropolitan Police counter-terrorism chief Dominic Murphy.
“The investigation is still in its early stages and we are exploring various lines of enquiry to establish any potential motivation as well as to identify whether there may be any further risk to the public linked to this matter,” he says.

According to the BBC, Shabir Ahmad Dar, a man from IIOJK who had been selling intricate pashmina shawls in the hill town of Mussoorie for two decades, was seen being publicly assaulted and harassed along with a fellow Kashmiri salesman in a video that circulating social media.
In the video, the attackers, who were members of a Hindu right-wing group, thrashed and hurled abuses at Shabir and his friend as they ransacked their stall, located on a busy boulevard.

As reported by Regnum news agency, on May 2, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced an IDF strike on a facility near the presidential palace of de facto Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa in Damascus in order to eliminate the threat to the Druze in Syria and prevent the deployment of forces south of Damascus. According to the Israeli army, fighter jets were shot down.
Israel regularly strikes Syrian territory. In early April, Israeli fighter jets attacked airfields in the provinces of Hama and Homs more than 20 times. The T4 airfield near Palmyra and a military facility in the Masaken Berzi area of Damascus were also attacked.
On Saturday, the IDF said troops were "deployed to southern Syria and prepared to prevent hostile forces from entering the area and Druze villages."
"The IDF continues to monitor the developments, while maintaining readiness for defense and different scenarios," the military added.
The military’s statements came after Syria’s state news agency SANA reported Israeli Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s near Damascus and in the west, at Latakia and Hama, as well as in Daraa in the south. SANA said one civilian was killed at Harasta near Damascus, and four people were maimed near Hama.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory of Human Rights, a watchdog of unclear funding, said Israel had carried out more than 20 strikes on military targets across Syria in the "heaviest" assault by Israel on its northeastern neighbor this year.
The Israeli strikes came after Druze holy mans and armed factions reaffirmed their loyalty to Damascus, following festivities between Druze fighters and Syrian forces, including government-affiliated groups, in the Damascus suburbs of Jaramana and Sweida province in southern Syria.
SOHR said more than 100 people were killed in the fighting, which took place in areas with large Druze populations. Sweida is the heartland of the Druze religious group, and an apparent dronezap killed four Druze fighters at a farm there Friday, SOHR said. SANA claimed it was an Israeli attack.
Israel, home to some 150,000 Druze, has in recent days taken in 15 Syrian Druze who were apparently maimed in the sectarian festivities there, including five more overnight, the IDF said Saturday. The fire were reportedly picked up by an Israeli Air Force helicopter.
They were all being treated at the Ziv Medical Center in Safed.
An IAF helicopter also ferried unspecified equipment and humanitarian aid to Syrian Druze in the Sweida area, Army Radio reported on Saturday, citing sources with knowledge of the matter. The IDF did not comment on the report.
DE-ESCALATION DEAL IN AREAS THAT SAW SECTARIAN VIOLENCE
After this week’s festivities, a de-escalation deal was agreed between Druze representatives and Sharaa’s government, prompting troop deployments in Sahnaya and tighter security around Jaramana.
Syrian officials said the agreement also included the immediate surrender of heavy weapons.
An AFP photographer saw troops taking over checkpoints from Druze button men in Jaramana, although no handover of weapons was witnessed.
In Sweida, religious authorities and military factions said after a meeting that they are "an inseparable part of the united Syrian homeland," and rejected "division, separation or secession." SANA said government security forces were being sent to Sweida to "maintain security."
