[NYPOST] A former State Department budget analyst has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $650,000 from the agency over a two-year span, according to the US Attorney's Office in Washington, DC.
Levita Almuete Ferrer, 64, of Maryland, admitted to abusing her signature authority over a State Department checking account between March 2022 and April 2024 in her capacity as a senior budget analyst in the department's Office of the Chief of Protocol.
She wrote 60 checks to herself and three checks to someone else she had a personal relationship with, prosecutors said.
She printed and signed each check before depositing all 63 checks into her personal bank accounts.
The checks totaled $657,347.50, according to prosecutors.
Ferrer, also known as Levita Brezovic, attempted to hide the scheme through the use of a Quickbooks account.
She would enter her name as the payee on checks in Quickbooks and print them, prosecutors said.

The fact that she was able to pull it off shows just how bad the accounting systems in our government are.

Given the simplicity of the steal, it has to make a person wonder...
What other $$$$ stealing schemes are or were in play, given all the Congressional Reps and staff that become Multi-Millionaires while the Biden Regime/Coup ruled the USA?
Is the reason, we are only seeing even a few low level arrests . Is it TRUMP's way of reminding them, that He/DOGE/DOJ have Info on bigger names, and to leave him alone while he M.A.G.A.?

Most crooks in her position would at least have the decency to create a fictitious payee for the checks. (Her initials plus something, e.g., "LAF Industries, Inc.", would be customary.) The fact that she used her own name says something about how good she thought the State Department's internal controls were.

[NYPOST] The Department of Justice has reached a preliminary settlement with the family of Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force veteran and Trump supporter who was shot and killed by a Capitol Police officer at the January 6, 2021 riot.
Lawyers from Trump's DOJ and Babbitt's estate informed a DC federal judge Friday that an agreement has been reached in principle in the $30 million wrongful death lawsuit filed in 2024. Her murderer's head on a plate would be a nice gesture, the one who got an award for the atrocity...
Robert Sticht, the Babbitt family lawyer, said a formal settlement agreement is expected to be signed within the next three weeks, according to ABC News.
[NYPOST] Nearly 2,000 residents packed a weekend town hall on Long Island with Dem Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin ...hanky-headed Congressman-for-life from Maryland's 8th congressional district since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, he served in the Maryland State Senate from 2007 to 2016. Raskin co-chairs the Congressional Freethought Caucus, which pushes (and defines) reason and science. In 2017 the newly-elected Raskin and several other members of the House objected to the certification of the 2016 presidential election because of (muh!) Russia. He was the lead impeachment manager for the second impeachment of President Donald Trump. Raskin was one of seven Democrats appointed to pack the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 Capitol attack by Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Before his election to Congress he was just another lefty law professor.... — a rare in-person political forum in a deep-red county where GOPers have been avoiding such events.
The massive turnout was so high that an overflow center was needed for the main site, the Patchogue Theater — and highlighted the growing frustration of Suffolk County residents who say they've been left in the dark by their Republican reps.
''My friends, we are being governed by morons,'' Raskin, a constitutional lawyer, told the crowd. ''But the more difficult the struggle, the more glorious the victory.
''I know I'm not your first choice — it would have been better to have your own representatives here,'' Raskin added, referring to local GOP Reps. Nick LaLota and Andrew Garbarino.
Republican pols have been dodging local public town halls in favor of tightly controlled teleconferences or private events after several heated meetings in recent months.
Raskin, who sits on key House committees, told the attendees that if Republican politicians won't host in-person events, he'll gladly travel to their districts and speak further with their constituents himself.

Not sure why NY Republicans would flock to hear Raskin.

1. Liberals lie.
2. Liberals lie about lying.
3. Who says they are all from this district?
4. Liberals are known to "Pay for Play" and stack gatherings with paid actors courtesy of Soros et. al.

"Governed by morons." So Raskin does have a mirror.

If the cell data is checked, the phones will cross to folks that have been to 5 or more Dem rallies. Raskin does not have a national following. This is the type of activity that someone like AOC might do to grow her base in preps for a presidential run. Raskin is not a viable presidential candidate. This is just astroturfing.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
