'Off our streets': ICE makes major arrest of internationally wanted 'suspected terrorist'
[FoxNews] 'This criminal illegal gang member and suspected terrorist should have never been released into our country,' a DHS spokesperson told Fox News

DHS told Fox News Digital that Joel Armando Mejia-Benitez, 38, is a "validated MS-13 gang member" from El Salvador who had no visas "approved or pending" at the moment of his arrest.

"ICE Baltimore arrested Joel Armando Mejia-Benitez an MS-13 gang member with an Interpol Red Notice. He first entered the country illegally in 2005 and was deported. He then reentered our country at an unknown date before he was arrested by HSI Baltimore in 2014. He was issued a notice to appear and released back into Silver Spring, MD," DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital in an exclusive statement.

An Interpol Red Notice is put out by the international legal group asking to "locate and provisionally arrest" somebody. It’s not considered an "international arrest warrant," but it's meant to make sure a person is taken into custody for further legal action, according to Interpol’s website. The Red Notice database has over 6,500 individuals.

The arrest comes as the Department of Homeland Security marks 100 days with Secretary Kristi Noem at the helm as of Monday.

"This criminal illegal gang member and suspected terrorist should have never been released into our country. Thanks to President Trump and Secretary Noem, he is off our streets and will soon be out of our country," McLaughlin continued.

The latest arrest comes as ICE touts over 65,000 illegal alien removals and over 66,000 arrests since Trump took office in January, including thousands with existing criminal convictions on top of being in the United States illegally.

Bondi announces one of largest fentanyl seizures in US history
[FoxNews] Bondi said 11.5 kilograms of the drug, including 3 million pills, were seized

Attorney General Pam Bondi said Tuesday that authorities have made one of the biggest fentanyl busts in U.S. history with the seizure of 11.5 kilos of the drug, including 3 million pills.

Bondi said that around 35 kilos of methamphetamine, 35 kilos of meth, 7.5 kilos of cocaine and 4.5 kilos of heroin were also seized along with $5 million in cash and 49 rifles and pistols.

Sixteen people including three women, were arrested in the operation. Six of the males are in the U.S. illegally, Bondi said.

The leader of the group, Alberto Salazar Amaya, is a high-ranking member of the Sinaloa Cartel, who was living in Salem, Oregon,
…living there legally??
and drugs were being distributed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Phoenix, Arizona, and in Utah, Bondi said.

"We're very proud to announce today a historic Sinaloa Cartel arrest and it marks the most significant victory in our nation's fight against fentanyl and drug trafficking to date," Bondi said at a press briefing in Washington D.C. "This multi-agency operation, led by DEA, with our local, state, tribal and federal partners targeted one of the largest and most dangerous drug trafficking and foreign terrorist organizations in our country."

"The DEA seized 11.5 kilos of fentanyl, including an astounding approximately 3 million fentanyl pills. The largest seizure in our nation's history."

Bondi said that all of the fentanyl pills were stamped as oxycodone and came in various strengths.

Pint-sized punk busted in Times Square cop beatdown is suspected ringleader of Central Park migrant robbery crew
[NYPOST] A 12-year-old migrant boy busted in a violent mostly peaceful subway mugging got out with a slap on the wrist — and is now accused of being part of a rowdy mob that attacked two NYPD cops in Times Square over the weekend.

The pint-sized perp is also believed to be the ''ringleader'' of a migrant robbery crew behind a string of muggings in Central Park in which several people had their cellphones, wallets and jewelry stolen last summer, law-enforcement sources said.

The baby-faced terror, then 11, made headlines when he was arrested that August — but faced no serious consequences thanks to the state's lax juvenile justice system, the sources said.

''Is this what a sanctuary city is supposed to be?'' one frustrated cop asked.

''One of these kids was 11 years old when he was the ringleader of that Central Park robbery pattern. What is it going to take for some of this policy to change when you have an 11, now 12-year-old, running around — or anybody — committing these crimes?'' the source fumed.

''When is common sense going to prevail?'' the cop added. ''Don't we have a moral obligation?''

Police believe the boy to be linked to the violent mostly peaceful Venezuela

...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. 11 alleged teen Tren de Aragua gang members attack [2] NYPD officers: police

[FoxNews] The NYPD officers were responding to a robbery at the time of the attack

A group of young illegal aliens with alleged ties to a violent foreign gang attack two NYPD officers Friday night in Times Square.

Eleven teen members of the ultra-violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua were allegedly involved in an attack against two NYPD officers on Friday night in Times Square, police sources told Fox News.

Five of the suspects, all illegal aliens from Venezuela, have been arrested in connection with the alleged attack, which involved the migrant crew throwing glass bottles, basketballs and rocks at NYPD officers who were responding to a robbery.

The youngest suspect in the attack is 12 years old, and the police sources said that two of the children were picked up by their migrant parents, and one is being charged as an adult with riot and assault, according to police.

"It's horrific enough to be a victim of a crime," said Mayor Eric Adams in a Tuesday media briefing. "But when someone openly assaults a police officer, you are attacking our symbol of safety, and it cannot be tolerated."

Adams said he's heard from people in the city who have said the suspects are too young for serious punishment, but he said that's not the case.

"People who prey on innocent people must be held accountable. They must be brought to justice," he said.

Tricia McLaughlin, the assistant secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, said authorities will find the remaining suspects.

"@DHSgov and our law enforcement partners will hunt down these cowards and they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," she wrote on X. "Secretary Noem will not stand idly by as our brave law enforcement is attacked."

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch then read a prepared statement describing the incident.

"Last week we saw a troubling incident in the heart of Times Square, where NYPD officers came under attack. On Friday at approximately 7:30 p.m., cops assigned to foot posts in the area of 42nd Street and 8th Avenue, and just a block away from a highly-anticipated boxing match, noticed about 10 to 12 individuals beginning to surround three others," she said.

"The officers engaged the group and attempted to break up what appeared to be a wolfpack-style robbery. Instead, they were ambushed [and] pelted with scooters, basketballs and other makeshift weapons," she continued. "This was a targeted attack. Planned, deliberate and carried out with intent, and it will not be tolerated. Luckily, our officers are OK, and the investigation that followed was fast, effective and focused."

According to Tisch, police identified a subset of Tren de Aragua gang members as the suspected perpetrators just hours after the attack.

"Our detectives got right to work, and within hours identified members of a violent group known as Los Diablos de 42, a subset of Tren de Aragua," she said. "Several of them are listed in our gang database, and that's one of the reasons we caught many of them so quickly."

Border Czar Tom Homan said the NYPD should work more with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to apprehend dangerous illegal immigrants.

"This is just another example of sanctuary cities not cooperating with ICE and look what happened," he said on "The Ingraham Angle." "If you're brazen enough to attack an armed law enforcement officer, you're much more dangerous to an unarmed civilian."

"We're coming for them," Homan said to the suspects involved in last week's attack who haven't yet been arrested.

Tisch also admonished the city council for "legislating against cops" and scolded them for trying to do away with that gang database.

She said a fifth person involved in the incident was arrested Tuesday morning.

"So far, we've apprehended five individuals connected to this incident," she said. "Three were arrested the next day, all repeat offenders, and all previously tied to citywide robbery patterns. A fourth turned himself in on Sunday, and just this morning we arrested a fifth, a 16-year-old recidivist. They face serious charges, including attempted felony assault, inciting a riot and reckless endangerment. "

She said more arrests are coming and once again repudiated city officials for what she views as weak-on-crime policies.

"This is not low-level crime. It's organized violence carried out by gang members that we've have already taken off the streets for preying on New Yorkers," she said. "And now they're back, ambushing cops in the middle of Times Square. It's not a fluke. It's a system failure. It's what happens when repeat offenders are allowed to cycle through arrest after arrest without meaningful accountability. It's what happens when there are no real consequences."

Police sources confirmed that the young suspects are known to police, and have been linked to dozens of robberies in New York since 2022. However, each time they have been arrested, they have been released back onto the streets.

Authorities were able to track down the suspect using the city's gang database, which the city council is trying to abolish.

"That’s why it absolutely defies common sense that our city council is looking to abolish this," Tisch said. "We need our City Council to stop legislating against our cops and to start legislating public safety."

Israel had earlier warned people to leave the area around Sanaa International Airport, one day after Israeli forces carried out airstrikes on Hodeidah port in Yemen in response to a Houthi missile landing near Israel's main air hub on Sunday.

Three airport sources told Rooters that Tuesday's strikes targeted three civilian aeroplanes, the departures hall, the airport runway and a military air base under Houthi control.

The statement added that one person was killed and three others injured in airstrikes on Sana'a International Airport. It also noted that seven civilians were maimed in the bombing of the Haziz Central Power Station in Sana'a.

The Ministry emphasized that civil defense and ambulance teams are working tirelessly to search for victims and those still trapped under the rubble.

It reiterated its condemnation of the continued American-Israeli attacks on service facilities and civilian infrastructure, describing them as blatant violations of international humanitarian law.

The Ministry further stated that targeting and disabling vital humanitarian entry points, such as ports and airports, constitutes an aggressive act aimed at tightening the blockade, starving the Yemeni population, and worsening the humanitarian crisis for patients, travelers, and those in need of food and medicine.

focused primarily on targeting fuel tanks in power plants and cement factories.

Amer explained, in a post on his Telegram account, that the goal of these attacks was to ignite fires and raise smoke plumes to create a contrasting image from the achievements of the Yemeni operation, which included striking the heart of the Israeli entity, disabling its airports, and imposing a complete blockade on civil aviation within it.

He pointed out that most of the targets that were bombed by the Zionist enemy had previously been targeted repeatedly during the past years.

Sanaa airport 'completely destroyed' in Israeli strike

's international airport was "completely destroyed" in Israeli air strikes on the rebel-held capital Sanaa on Tuesday, an airport official told AFP.

"Three planes out of seven belonging to Yemenia Airlines were destroyed at Sanaa airport, and Sanaa International Airport was completely destroyed," the official said.
Courtesy of Grom in comments yesterday, the Jerusalem Post names the new piles of rubble
The military confirmed that one of the locations struck was al-Imran cement factory north of Sanaa. It added that al-Imran “serves as a significant resource for the Houthi terrorist regime and is used for the construction of underground tunnels and other terrorist infrastructure.

The attack was not only coordinated with the US, but Washington has been attacking the Houthis on a nearly daily basis at almost the same time.

The IDF also struck Attan in south-west Sanaa, Haiz Central Power Station in the Sanhan district south-east of the capital, and Asr Electricity Station in Sanaa’s Ma’een district to the west of the city, according to Al Masirah.

The Houthis’ official news agency, SABA, also said that the IDF struck at least two electricity transformers.

The international airport is located north of the city.

The attacks followed the military’s 2:36 p.m. warning to all Yemeni citizens at the airport to evacuate. The warning is the first time that Israel has shared an alert before attacking the Houthis, after six prior attacks without warning, including on Monday. Defense sources explained that, in this instance, the nature of an international airport, as opposed to Yemen’s Hodeidah Port and other areas that Israel has attacked, demanded a different level of warning.

Targets included the Hodeidah seaport, which the IDF noted serves as a major source of income for the Houthi regime. “The Hodeidah seaport is used to transfer Iranian weapons, equipment for military needs, and other terrorist needs.”

In addition, the military said, “The Bajil concrete factory east of the city of Hodeidah was attacked, which serves as an important economic resource for the Houthi terrorist regime and is used to build tunnels and military infrastructure.”

Earlier on Monday evening, the US coordinated with Israel its own strike against the Houthis in Sanaa.

Israel’s last counterstrike against the Houthis before this week was on January 11, before US President Donald Trump took office. Since then, Israel has hoped that over 1,000 airstrikes by the US under Trump would be sufficient to stop Houthi attacks on Israel without Jerusalem getting directly involved. However, the successful hit near Ben-Gurion Airport shook up that calculation.
A few more details from the Times of Israel:
Dozens of Israeli Air Force aircraft were involved in the strikes on Yemen on Tuesday, including fighter jets, refuelers, and spy planes.

Sanaa International Airport, which had been hit once by the IAF before, was “completely disabled” following strikes within 15 minutes that targeted its runways, aircraft, and infrastructure, the military said. The IDF said that the airport was used by the Houthis “for transferring weapons and operatives, and is regularly operated by the Houthi regime for terror purposes.”

'Independent Revenge': Which Arabs Helped Israel Bomb the Houthis
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Leonid Tsukanov

[REGNUM] The Yemeni front is once again restless and events are developing rapidly. Less than a day has passed since the high-profile attack by the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement (better known as the Houthis) on Israel's Ben-Gurion Airport, and Israel has already fully exercised its "right to respond" by attacking one of the main maritime hubs in Houthi-controlled territories.

Even with active US assistance, the Israeli operation turned out to be daring - the fighter aircraft had to cover at least two thousand kilometers. However, it is possible that one of the external observers decided to lend Tel Aviv a shoulder in time.

ATTACK ON THE AIRPORT
The latest round of escalation was triggered by an attack by Yemeni rebels on Ben Gurion International Airport, Israel's main air hub. A rocket fell on its territory, lightly injuring at least six people.

Although the missile attack disrupted the airport's operations for no more than an hour, it was the first targeted attack against the airport.

Previously, Yemeni rebels tried to attack it in September 2024, when Air Force One, Wings of Zion, carrying Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was landing, but were unable to overcome the layered air defense.

This time the situation was different: two different systems, Hetz and THAAD, tried to intercept the Yemeni missile at the same time, but both attempts ended in nothing. The reputation of the “impenetrable sky” was seriously tarnished.

Encouraged by their success, Houthi leaders said they intended to add an air blockade to Israel's naval blockade, launching multiple strikes on the Jewish state's airports and airfields.

Senior Houthi official Mohammed al-Bukhaiti later called the strike a demonstration of capabilities and said the group had "no red lines."

The Houthis also warned airlines against flying to Israel, citing safety concerns for aircraft. For a time, this even had an effect: Switzerland's Lufthansa Group and India's Air India suspended flights, but resumed them less than 24 hours later.

The other major carriers did not announce any flight cancellations, although they reduced the number of flights due to a “drop in demand.”

THE AMERICANS HAVE WITHDRAWN
The Houthis' brazen move angered the Israeli military and political leadership. Defense Minister Israel Katz promised that Israel would strike back "sevenfold" at anyone who attacks it.

He was supported by Prime Minister Netanyahu, who promised retribution not only to the Houthis, but also to those “who stand behind them,” meaning primarily Iranian military advisers.

And the Israelis' response was not long in coming. Less than a day after the Houthi strike on Ben-Gurion, Israeli aircraft attacked the Houthi-controlled coastal city of Hodeida in Yemen.

More than 30 fighter jets took part in the raid, dropping 48 ordnances, at least a third of them on the port, which Katz's report said was being used as a hub for Iranian arms shipments.

The concrete plant "Bajil", located approximately 50 km from Hodeidah, was also subjected to intensive bombing. According to the Israeli side, the facility was the main source of income for Shiite forces, and the plant's products, among other things, were used to build military facilities.

It is noteworthy that American forces, which have been bombing Houthi-controlled territory for the past month and a half, only provided cover for Israeli aircraft on the night of May 6, but did not participate in the attack itself.

Apparently, Washington thus left official Tel Aviv the opportunity to take revenge on its own.

The Israelis are satisfied with the results of the attack and threaten that such strikes could become "routine" for the Houthis. The country's military leadership prefers not to mention that each such attack costs the Israeli treasury a considerable amount of money (due to the large distances between Yemen and Israel and the need to "skip" unfriendly countries).

SOMEONE HELPED
The Houthis described the damage from the Israeli airstrike as "tolerable." According to the local health ministry, the nighttime airstrike killed two civilians and injured 42 others. No casualties were reported among the Shiite militias. Port infrastructure and several fuel storage facilities were also seriously damaged.

At the same time, the Bajil plant, on which the Israelis spent up to half of the ammunition, according to the leadership of the Shiite movement, “was not seriously damaged” and will resume work in the near future.

On the other hand, a certain cumulative effect from the strikes on Houthi targets is still observed. Thus, after a series of American air strikes on the Ras Isa oil terminal, the leadership of the Shiite movement was forced to introduce an emergency plan for gas stations in the controlled territories in order to avoid a fuel shortage and the flourishing of underground trade.

The last time the Houthis imposed such large-scale measures was in 2015, when the Arab coalition attacked oil terminals during its intervention in Yemen and destroyed half of all oil reserves. It is possible that the Israeli strikes on Hodeida will also have a negative impact on the energy situation in the country.

At the same time, Yemeni rebels are determined. In response to the Israeli strike, they threatened to multiply their attacks and use new types of weapons. Including the mass use of "Yemeni hypersonic", which they reported putting into service back in the summer of 2024.

It is worth emphasizing that the threat in this case is addressed not only to Israel, but also to Yemen's Arab neighbors. Moreover, due to Yemen's geographical remoteness from the Israeli borders, IDF fighters could only carry out an effective strike on coastal Hodeida along two routes.

The Israeli Air Force planes either secretly refueled at Egyptian bases (which is quite likely, given the allied relations between Tel Aviv and Cairo), or flew through Saudi Arabian airspace under the auspices of the United States, the House of Saud's main military partner.

Passing through the airspace of Iraq, the UAE and the part of Yemen not controlled by the Houthis, with an approach to Hodeida “from behind”, is excluded due to the significant length of the route.

In any case, the likely use of third-country airspace by the Israelis is at odds with public promises by Arab leaders not to interfere in the conflict between Tel Aviv and the Houthis and seriously increases the level of escalation in the region.

Chinese 'Businessman' in Ecuador Allegedly Running Secret Police Station, Human Trafficking into U.S.
[Breitbart] A Chinese secret police station in Quito, Ecuador appears to still be operating despite having been “shut down” in May 2024, several outlets reported this week.

Numerous reports in past years have denounced that the Chinese communist regime has set up dozens of illegal secret police stations around the world to persecute dissidents of the regime of dictator Xi Jinping and to conduct espionage on Chinese communities living abroad.

The Chinese regime established one such illegal police station in Quito, operating under the guise of a purported “travel agency” known as Andywei Travel, whose offices were located in a local hotel in northern Quito owned by the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC). The illegal Chinese police office was allegedly “shut down” in May 2024 following an investigation presented by the local outlets Código Vidrio and Vistazo that revealed its existence.

On Thursday, both Código Vidrio and Vistazo released a new joint report denouncing that Chinese businessmen continue to carry out illegal espionage and surveillance operations in Quito from another location in the city.

The outlets, citing confidential documents, explained that a Chinese businessman identified as 41-year-old Wei Fuyan served as the legal representative of the “travel agency” where the “shut down” illegal Chinese police station had operated.

In addition to leading the Quito illegal station operations, both outlets revealed in their 2024 report that according to the “intelligence agencies of several countries,” Wei was being investigated for allegedly directing a smuggling network that brought Chinese nationals into the United States.
Wei was further identified in the reports as a member of the Chinese Communist Party’s United Front, which coordinates the Party’s foreign influence and political warfare operations. The confidential documents revealed potential links between Wei and the Chinese regime’s efforts to conduct surveillance on the Chinese community in the South American nation. Wei also holds memberships in the Federation of Chinese Returning Overseas and the Ecuadorian Chinese Colony Confederation.

In addition to leading the Quito illegal station operations, both outlets revealed in their 2024 report that according to the “intelligence agencies of several countries,” Wei was being investigated for allegedly directing a smuggling network that brought Chinese nationals into the United States.

The outlets, citing Wei’s migratory records, explained that he traveled one time to the United States and three times to China in 2023. Both outlets reported that there are no records of Wei officially returning to Ecuador through airports or ports after his third 2023 trip to China in December of that year — stressing that “intelligence authorities do not rule out that he could have returned by land, through the Colombian border.”

While Andywei Travel’s offices were shut down in May 2024, the purported travel agency continues to be active despite lacking a formal office site. Financial records reviewed by both outlets revealed that, as of January, Wei and some of his collaborators continue to receive a basic monthly salary of $480.

Ecuadorian authorities launched a preliminary tax fraud probe into Wei in January 2024. Both outlets reported that local authorities are handling the probe under confidentiality. Sources consulted by both outlets claimed that Wei’s tax evasion probe was opened a year after a similar probe into Andywei Travel was abruptly closed “without apparent explanations.”

According to records from the Ecuadorian Superintendence of Companies cited by the outlets, Wei founded another company that is presently active where the “shut down” illegal police station allegedly had operated. In 2017, Wei founded a Quito-based consulting company that provides “business advisory services and imports” and presently has active bank accounts in Ecuador with a balance of more than $10,000.

Wei’s partner in the consulting firm, which “keeps its figures in the red,” was identified in the report as an unnamed 37-year-old Chinese citizen who also owns another tourism company founded in 2019 in partnership with another Chinese national that “does not report income or profits, only losses.”

Intelligence sources consulted by the outlets for the report suggested that Wei and the other two unnamed Chinese nationals would be the three heads of China’s espionage, surveillance, and other illegal operations in Ecuador.

Código Vidrio and Vistazo indicated in their joint report that Wei Fuyan has consolidated his influence within the Chinese migrant community in Latin America since 2016. Wei was appointed president of the Chinese Weekly in Ecuador and operated Chinese-language media aimed at his fellow countrymen. According to sources based in China consulted by the two outlets, “this would be part of an official strategy to maintain ideological control over the diasporas.”

The Chinese communist regime was able to accrue significant influence in Ecuador under the auspices of socialist former President Rafael Correa, a pro-China fugitive convicted felon who ruled Ecuador between 2007 and 2017. Under Correa, Ecuador signed thousands of contracts and became dependent on Chinese credit funds. In return, China gained significant control of Ecuador’s mines, oil, and other natural resources.

Fernando Villavicencio, a staunch anti-China Ecuadorian journalist assassinated in 2023 while running for president, denounced China’s growing influence throughout his career. In 2022, Villavicencio asserted that Ecuador had become a “colony of China” since 2007, the year Correa first took office. Correa had Villavicencio and two others sentenced to 18 months in prison for “insulting him” in 2014. Villavicencio avoided his sentence by seeking refuge with local indigenous communities in the Ecuadorian Amazon.

“Ecuador boasts majestic natural landscapes, rich resources, and varied products, its people are industrious and courageous,” Xi Jinping said during his official visit to Ecuador in 2016 under Correa. “This visit will achieve positive results and will extend a new solid bridge for cooperation between both countries.”

Both outlets stated that the Chinese embassy in Quito did not respond to their requests for an interview.

Survivor of Makhachkala Shootout Pleads Guilt
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] A resident of Dagestan, hospitalized from the scene of a shootout in Makhachkala, has admitted guilt in attacking police officers. He has been charged under four criminal articles.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", on May 5 there was an attack on a traffic police unit in Makhachkala. The police stopped a car to check documents and were shot at with machine guns. In the shootout, two police officers were killed, two more security officers and three civilians were wounded, including a woman and a 17-year-old girl. The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that both attackers were killed, but today the Investigative Committee clarified that only one participant in the attack was killed, and the second was wounded and hospitalized in serious condition.

The hospitalized local resident, whom investigators believe to be a participant in the attack, has been charged under four criminal articles: 317 of the Russian Criminal Code (attempt on the life of law enforcement officers), 166 of the Russian Criminal Code (hijacking without the purpose of theft), 222 of the Russian Criminal Code (illegal arms trafficking) and 226 of the Russian Criminal Code (theft of arms), the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Dagestan reported today on its Telegram channel.

"During interrogation as an accused, the latter admitted his guilt and described in detail the circumstances of the attack on the police officers," the publication says.

Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for up to life imprisonment; the other articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation under which the resident of Dagestan was charged also provide for imprisonment for shorter terms.

Let us recall that, according to unofficial information, Akhmed Alimagomedov and Batal Magomedov, both born in 2000, took part in the attack, Kommersant reported on May 5. According to the publication's source, they were natives of Dagestan, and both had not previously come to the attention of the special services.

The attack on security forces in Makhachkala was at least the third armed incident in Dagestan in two months. Since May 2022, seven similar incidents have occurred in the republic: two were recorded in 2024, one each in May 2023 and May 2022.

Turkey seized 1,300 pagers en route to Lebanon days after pager attack — Naharnet
[NAHARNET] Ottoman Turkish intelligence services intercepted a shipment of over 1,300 pagers in Istanbul that were en route to Leb

According to the report, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
's National Intelligence Organization (MIT) received information about the shipment and began inspecting ports and airports, eventually discovering that the delivery was scheduled for September 27.

The shipment reportedly arrived in Turkey on September 16, one day before a series of pager explosions occurred in Lebanon. It consisted of four pallets sent from Taiwan via a cargo flight from Hong Kong. The 61 boxes, weighing approximately 850 kilograms, were declared as ''food processors'' on the shipping manifest.

Ottoman Turkish security forces, accompanied by a bomb disposal unit, opened the boxes and discovered 1,300 pagers, including devices manufactured by Taiwanese company Gold Apollo, alongside about 710 detonators, batteries and cables. The shipment also contained 144 mini handheld blenders, cameras and additional electronic components.

The pagers were immediately sent to a lab, where Ottoman Turkish officials claimed they found ''a highly flammable white explosive substance -- approximately 3 grams (0.1 oz) -- hidden inside the batteries.''

Similar material was reportedly found in the associated detonators.

The owner of the Istanbul-based company listed as the shipment's recipient was questioned and claimed his firm provides customs consulting services rather than freight or shipping. Ottoman Turkish media added that President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. raised the issue in a December conversation with former Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, informing him of the seizure and destruction of the pagers.

The Israeli Mossad's so-called ''pager operation'' was launched on September 17 over concerns it would soon be exposed. On the operation's first day, Hezbollah members' pagers detonated in Lebanon and Syria. A day later, on September 18, their walkie-talkies went kaboom! as well.

According to a Rooters investigation published in October last year, the pagers sent to Lebanon in February 2023 contained miniature plastic explosives embedded in batteries, along with a novel detonation system that was undetectable via standard X-ray screening.

The rigged batteries were engineered to appear normal but held only about one-third the energy capacity expected for their size. Experts cited in the report noted that while a standard 35-gram (1.2 oz) battery would typically provide 8.75 watt-hours, the modified battery held just 2.22 watt-hours -- suggesting much of the internal volume was taken up by explosives.

On 17 and 18 September 2024, thousands of handheld pagers and hundreds of walkie-talkies intended for use by Hezbollah went kaboom! simultaneously in two separate events across Lebanon and Syria, in an Israeli attack nicknamed Operation Grim Beeper.

According to an unnamed Hezbollah official, the attack took 1,500 Hezbollah fighters out of action due to injuries. According to the Lebanese government, the attack killed 42 people, including 12 civilians, and injured 4,000 civilians.

Victims' injuries included losing fingers, hands and eyes, as well as brain shrapnel. The incident was described as Hezbollah's biggest security breach since the start of the Israel—Hezbollah conflict in October 2023.

''These actions are in direct response to the horrific Pahalgam attack,'' the Defence Ministry said in its statement, adding, ''We are upholding our commitment to ensure that those responsible for the attack face consequences.'' The Indian government later released an official video declaring the mission a success, while Pak authorities were reportedly caught off guard.

Pak round-up: Seven dead, 38 injured as Pakistan Army targets civilian areas along LoC in J&K, shoots down IAF jets, destroys brigade HQ
[TIMESOFINDIA.INDIATIMES] Seven persons, including a woman and two children, were killed and 38 others injured Wednesday as Pakistan Army pounded dozens of forward villages with artillery and mortar shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, officials told news agency PTI. Officials said the Indian Army is responding proportionately to ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces, which began after India conducted missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The Poonch district has been the worst affected, with seven fatalities and 25 others injured, according to reports. In addition, ten people were injured in the Uri sector of Baramulla district, while three others sustained injuries in Rajouri district, officials added.

In the early hours of Wednesday, India launched "Operation Sindoor", executing a series of precision strikes that successfully destroyed nine terrorist bases located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation was a joint effort by the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and was conducted entirely from Indian soil. Key targets included the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) headquarters in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba's (LeT) base in Muridke. The strikes served as a decisive response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which had claimed the lives of 26 civilians. Using advanced precision weaponry and real-time intelligence, the Army, Navy, and Air Force conducted the strikes in coordination, avoiding any engagement with Pakistani military installations.India employed a range of high-precision, long-range strike weapons during the operation, including the SCALP cruise missile, the HAMMER precision-guided bomb, and loitering munitions.

The Pakistain armed forces also destroyed an enemy post in the Dhundial sector of the Line of Control (LoC).

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director-General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said on early Wednesday that at least eight Paks were martyred and 35 were maimed in Indian missile attacks on cities in Punjab and Azad Kashmir.

DG ISPR elaborated that India launched 24 attacks on six sites in Pakistain, and all targets hit were civilian in nature, with most being mosques. The Indian munitions also caused damage to the surrounding residential structures.

The Indian strikes come amid heightened tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours in the aftermath of an attack on tourists that left 26 dead in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir's (IIOJK) Pahalgam.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has confirmed that the Pakistain Air Force has shot down at least five Indian fighter jets in response to India's recent cross-border aggression.

Speaking to Geo News, the defence minister said Pakistain had gained the upper hand in its retaliatory action, while responding to the Indian forces' strikes with strength and precision.

He stressed that the Pak armed forces acted decisively to defend the country's illusory sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"Pak armed forces are giving a befitting response to Indian aggression," the military spokesperson said shortly after Pakistain launched its own counter-strikes.

New Delhi linked Islamabad to the attack without offering any evidence and took a flurry of punitive measures to downgrade ties, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, revoking visas of Paks, and closing Wagah-Attari border crossing, among others.

Islamabad, in response, ordered the expulsion of Indian diplomats and military advisers, cancelling visas for Indian nationals, with the exception of Sikh pilgrims, and closing the main border crossing from its side.

IDF begins demolition of dozens of homes in refugee camps near West Bank’s Tulkarem
[IsraelTimes] The IDF has started the process of demolishing around 90 homes in the Nur Shams and Tulkarem refugee camps near the city of Tulkarem in the West Bank.

Palestinian media reports that residents were given two hours to collect their belongings before the demolitions.
No doubt to prevent the residents from being tempted to set boobytraps in the properties.
In response to an inquiry from The Times of Israel, COGAT, the Defense Ministry body which oversees coordination in the West Bank and Gaza, stated that residents were given approximately five hours and that 15 homes would be demolished today.

This marks the first significant wave of home demolitions in the Tulkarem area as part of an ongoing IDF counter-terror operation that has been underway for three months. According to Palestinian media reports, some 25,000 people have been displaced from their homes in the two camps amid the operation.

Anti-government activist indicted for indecent act against police officer at protest
Follow up to this story from yesterday.
[IsraelTimes] 72-year-old Eyal Yaffe also charged with illegal protest activity; previously indicted for illegal possession of firearms over AK-47, submachine gun, grenades found in his home

Anti-government activist Eyal Yaffe, 72, was indicted Monday on charges of performing an indecent act against a female police officer during a protest, as well as participating in an illegal demonstration and interfering with a police officer in the performance of their duty.

During the protest on March 25 outside the Knesset, Yaffe blocked the street together with other protesters and ignored instructions to disperse, according to the indictment.

At a different point during the demonstration, Yaffe came up behind a female police officer and rubbed his crotch against her as she was bending over to deal with other protesters. The officer and a colleague pushed him away.

The incident was caught on video and posted to Instagram by rapper and right-wing activist Yoav Eliasi, also known as "the Shadow."

Yaffe has denied any wrongdoing. "The video was completely fabricated," he told Channel 12 in March, adding that he was shoved as he tried to help protesters who were sitting on the ground.

Last month, Yaffe was indicted for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. The police discovered a loaded AK-47 assault rifle, along with a submachine gun and ammunition for it, 12 magazines, a stun grenade, and a tear-gas grenade in Yaffe’s home when they raided it following the incident.

Police said that a number of the weapons dated back to the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

Yaffe said the rifle was a memento from his late brother Amir Yaffe, who fell during his military service, and that the remaining items were from his own time in the army.

Yaffe’s lawyer said that the various weapons found in his client’s possession were "family mementos" with "deep sentimental value" that were unconnected to his role as a protest activist, decrying the detention of his client as "political."

"It is difficult not to notice the obsession of law enforcement officials with finding every possible reason to incriminate a major protest activist," Attorney Gonen Ben Yitzhak added. "The police and prosecutors are choosing to ignore the personal, family and historical context of these items, and instead are trying to present them as incriminating evidence."

Yaffe, along with several other veterans of the 1973 Yom Kippur War, is a member of the "Lochamei Kippur ’73" protest group, which rose to prominence during the judicial overhaul protests of 2023 and has taken a major role in the anti-government, pro-hostage release protest movement.

Strip received the bodies of 23 civilians who were martyred in fresh Israeli attacks, along with the bodies of 9 other people who were reported missing in previous attacks.

According to Gaza's health ministry on Monday, 119 citizens were also injured during Israeli attacks or by unwent kaboom! ordnance during the past hours.

Accordingly, a total of 2,459 people have been killed and 6,569 others have been injured since the Israeli occupation army resumed its genocidal war on Gaza on March 18, 2025.

The new fatalities increased the corpse count from the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which started on October 7, 2023, to 52,576 deaders, the health ministry stated.

The ministry added that the total number of the maimed also surged to 118,610 people.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pound, the little lost dog had finished eating the rat terrier...
efforts are underway to recover the bodies of more deaders who are still missing in different areas of the Gaza Strip.

Hamas fatality figures for Gaza war are ‘clear disinformation,’ according to new study

[IsraelTimes] In contast to Hamas claims, paper finds female and child fatalities are underrepresented relative to their proportion of the Strip’s general population, demonstrating IDF efforts to avoid civilian casualties

The percentage of women and children killed in Gaza during the course of Israel’s war against Hamas following the October 7 atrocities is far lower than claimed by the terror group’s media propaganda agency, according to a new study.

The study found that despite claims by Hamas’s Government Media Office that some 70 percent of fatalities were women and children, figures provided by the Gaza Ministry of Health showed the real rate to be 51%.

The new paper, published by professors Lewi Stone and Gregory Rose, argues that the relatively lower rate of women and children fatalities, combined with the high percentage of women and children in the general Gaza population, demonstrates that the IDF has taken systematic measures to avoid civilian casualties.

It also used a case study of the IDF’s campaign in the southern Gazan city of Khan Younis in 2024 to show that the percentage of women and children killed during the operation was 34% of the total to further underline this claim.

The two authors accused Hamas’s Government Media Office of distorting the data provided by the Gazan Ministry of Heath, and said it “clearly engaged in disinformation to prosecute the Hamas wartime narrative, the central theme of which is that the IDF deliberately commits war atrocities.”

Stone is a professor of Mathematical Epidemiology at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, while Rose is an honorary professor of law at the University of Wollongong, Australia. Their paper was published by the Henry Jackson Society think tank based in London.

The study is based on data collated by the Gaza Ministry of Health through a centralized and computerized database at Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

In March 2025, the Hamas-controlled Gaza Ministry of Health published a list of 50,021 fatalities during the war. The list does not differentiate between combatants and civilians, or those who were killed by Hamas’s own combat actions.

While refusing to disclose how many fatalities were combatants, the Hamas Government Media Office has consistently claimed that some 70 percent of those killed during the war were women and children, using the category as a proxy for non-combatants, in order to allege that the IDF indiscriminately kills Palestinian civilians.

But Stone and Rose’s analysis of the Ministry of Health list found that in reality the proportion of female and child fatalities in the war was just under 51%.

By going through the list of 50,021 fatalities listed, they found 9,790 were adult women 18 years old and over, while 15,613 were children (boys and girls) under the age of 18, giving a total of 25,403 in the women and children category. This represented 50.8% of all fatalities during the war.

The study also used data obtained by a research group at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, which published the dates of death of all 28,185 identified fatalities in the war up until 30 June 2024, to evaluate the rate of deaths of women and children in specific operations such as in Khan Younis, and to show the declining level of fatalities as the war progressed.

Using this data, Stone and Rose provided a detailed breakdown of fatalities by age and sex during the IDF’s operation in Khan Younis from January to May 2024.

The study identified 2,154 fatalities in the Khan Younis operation, of which 1,411 were adult men, over the age of 18, or 65.5%.

The percentage of women and children killed during that operation was 34.5%.

Additionally, the age brackets for boys and men aged of 15 to 20, 20 to 25, 25 to 30 and 35 to 40 — the most likely age ranges for combatants — were all significantly over represented in the total number of fatalities during the Khan Younis operation.

Of the child fatalities, 188 were female, or some 9%, compared to 278 male child fatalities, or 13%.

Stone and Rose stated that the higher rate of male child fatalities suggested that a “substantial portion” of boys under the age of 18 were engaged in combat roles during the war.

The study also looked at the rate of fatalities during the course of the war, finding that whereas the percentage of women and children killed in October 2023 was 62%, it dropped to 45% in January 2024, and fluctuated around that level thereafter.

“This is a strong signal that IDF ground troops were attempting to target combatants despite the difficulties of conditions of urban warfare,” Stone and Rose contended.

The authors also pointed out that Hamas does not identify fatalities caused by Gaza-based terror groups’ failed attacks, such as the infamous Al-Ahli Hospital incident in October 2023.

In addition, a certain number of the 9,000 natural deaths which would be expected to have occurred in Gaza since October 2023 have also been included in the general fatality count for the war.

And they noted that many Hamas combatants who have been recorded elsewhere as having been killed were not included in the list of the 50,000 Gazans the Ministry of Health said died during the war.

The suppression of Hamas’s combatant fatalities has served to further “inflate” the percentage of women and children killed as a total of the overall number of fatalities, and increase the distorted picture of civilian casualties, Stone and Rose pointed out.

“We do not doubt that a large number of civilians have tragically lost their lives in this conflict, and it is deeply concerning to us,” the two researchers stated.

They asserted however that Hamas’s declarations that Israel was committing “genocide” in Gaza “was inconsistent with its own datasets,” and that “doctoring” of the data was possible because many of the medical directors in the Gazan Ministry of Health and hospital system were controlled by Hamas.

“Sadly, when Hamas’s narratives were accepted and amplified without any forensic critique, to be broadcast enthusiastically by agenda-driven activists, much of the world public was deceived.”

Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The death toll from Israel Defense Forces (IDF) strikes on the Gaza Strip has risen to 63 over the past 24 hours. This was reported on May 6 by the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera.

According to journalists, at least 63 Palestinians were killed by Israel's actions on the first day of the week alone. Dozens of civilians were injured.

Several areas of the enclave were subjected to bombing and shelling, including refugee camps in Nuseirat and Ash-Shujaiya, Khan Younis and Rafah.

Underwear-clad Hamas terrorists surrender to Israeli forces in Rafah
[NYPOST] Israeli forces apprehended Hamas

turbans who surrendered in the Shaboura neighborhood of Rafah, according to military footage released Tuesday.

Among those captured were a Hamas platoon commander who participated in the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre and was involved in the holding of Israeli hostages, as well as a sniper unit commander. Several knives were reportedly found in their possession.

The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) obtained significant intelligence during the subsequent interrogations, including the location of a major Hamas terror site in the area.

The arrests came after the IDF completed its encirclement of Rafah several weeks ago. Military operations in the city are ongoing and are expected to expand into additional neighborhoods.

To date, the 188th Brigade's combat team has eliminated dozens of turbans and uncovered and destroyed multiple Hamas weapons caches and other infrastructure.

Likud MK Tally Gotliv on Tuesday expressed frustration over stalled hostage negotiations and voiced support for the government's recent military decisions.

''The Israeli government gave Hamas every opportunity to return all of our hostages, both living and deceased,'' Gotliv told JNS. ''But Hamas has entrenched itself in cruelty and rejected every proposal put forward during the negotiations.''
The Times of Israel names the miscreants:
One of the terror operatives is identified by the military and Shin Bet as Yousef Qadi, a Hamas platoon commander who invaded Israel on October 7, 2023, during the terror group’s attack, and was later responsible for holding several Israeli hostages in Gaza, all of whom have since been released.

The second is identified as Muhammad Zaarab, a commander in a Hamas sniper unit.

Hamas-linked Gaza rescuers say 9 killed in new Israeli strike on school sheltering displaced
[IsraelTimes] Gaza’s Hamas-linked civil defense agency says that nine people were killed in a fresh Israeli strike on a school sheltering displaced people in the center of the war-ravaged Palestinian territory.

“Nine dead and dozens of injuries in a new airstrike that targeted the northern side of Abu Humeisa School, which shelters displaced people in Al-Bureij camp,” Ahmad Radwan, a media officer from the Hamas-linked Gaza civil defense, tells AFP after rescuers said an earlier Israeli strike on the same site killed 22.

IDF says strike targeted Hamas operatives at command post in central Gaza
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says it carried out an airstrike against a group of Hamas operatives at a command center in the central Gaza Strip a short while ago.

Palestinian media reports that the strike hit a school in the Bureij area, which was used as a shelter for displaced Gazans, killing at least 18 people.

According to the military, the site was being used by Hamas to store weapons intended to be used in attacks on IDF troops and Israeli civilians.

ISIS escalates attacks on SDF, kills two fighters in east Syria
[Rudaw] The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday that two of their fighters were killed by the Islamic State

A statement by the SDF noted that late in the day on Tuesday "an ISIS terrorist cell launched a machine-gun attack on one of our military points in the town of al-Bahra, located in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor."

"Clashes ensued between our fighters and the attackers, resulting in the martyrdom of two of our comrades," the statement added, noting that "the members of the terrorist cell expeditiously departed at a goodly pace on cycle of violences."

The SDF, backed by the United States, functions as the de facto military force of northeastern Syria (Rojava) and remains a key partner of the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.

Since its territorial defeat in Syria in 2019, ISIS has been trying to regain its strength, particularly after a coalition of opposition groups led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else

The Kurdish-led force on Tuesday characterized the latest attack as "part of a broader escalation by the terrorist organization against our forces in northern and eastern Syria, making use of the ongoing chaos in the country."

"Our forces reaffirm their commitment to pursuing these terrorist cells until they are completely dismantled and the security and stability of the region are secured," the SDF asserted.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported in early April that ISIS has ramped up its attacks in SDF-controlled areas, targeting both civilians and security forces. The monitor documented over 50 such incidents since the beginning of 2025.

SDF chief Mazloum Abdi has repeatedly warned about the persistent threat of ISIS, especially within detention centers and camps. In January, Abdi stressed the "need to intensify efforts to continue the fight against ISIS if we don’t want to see it make a comeback."

Lebanon: IDF says Hezbollah commander killed by drone strike in southern Lebanon
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says it killed a Hezbollah commander in a drone strike in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon earlier today.

The strike killed Adnan Harb, who the military says headed Hezbollah’s logistics array in the terror group’s Badr regional division. The regional unit is tasked with the area north of the Litani River.

The IDF says Harb, as part of his role, worked to restore Hezbollah’s fighting capabilities, as well as restore infrastructure in areas south of the Litani River.

“The terrorist worked to transfer weapons within Lebanese territory between the various units in the organization. His actions constituted a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the IDF says.
