Heavy Fighting Enters Second Day on Border Between Somali Regions
[ShabelleMedia] Fierce festivities between Somali government forces and al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
fighters entered a second day Saturday along the border between the Middle Shabelle and Hiiraan regions, with both sides sustaining heavy casualties.

The fighting is centered around the village of Ceel Hareeri, located between the strategic towns of Adan Yabal in Middle Shabelle and Moqokori in Hiiraan. Government troops, backed by local militias known as Macawiisley, are battling al-Qaeda-linked hard boyz from al-Shabaab in what observers say is one of the fiercest confrontations in recent weeks.

"Fighting is intense and has escalated since yesterday," a local resident told Radio Shabelle by phone. "Both sides are receiving reinforcements, and the sound of heavy weapons has been ongoing since morning."

Unofficial reports suggest that over 20 people may have been killed or maimed, but the exact toll remains unclear as the area is inaccessible to independent observers.

Al-Shabaab is reportedly attempting to seize control of key routes connecting Adan Yabal and Moqokori, which could allow the group to launch further operations in central Somalia. Meanwhile,
...back at the precinct house, Sergeant Maloney wasn't buying it. It was just too pat. The whole thing smelled phony, kind of like a dead mackeral but without the scales...
government forces and allied militias are defending territory and aiming to retake ground lost in previous counter-offensives.

"The village is of high strategic value to both sides," said a security source in Mogadishu. "For al-Shabaab, it offers a potential launch point into Hiiraan. For the government, it could serve as a base for operations to pressure Adan Yabal."

The fighting comes amid renewed efforts by the Somali government to push al-Shabaab out of Hirshabelle state, where the group has recently regained control of several areas, including the town of Abooreey.

Clashes in Nuurdugle, Middle Shabelle as Somali Forces Repel Al-Shabaab Attack
[ShabelleMedia] A fierce battle erupted overnight in the Nuurdugle area of the Middle Shabelle region, as al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
bully boyz launched a heavy assault on the town.

The heavy clash saw intense fighting between the bully boyz and Somali National Army (SNA) forces, who were supported by local militia fighters from the area.

While the exact toll of casualties remains unclear, both sides sustained significant losses during the confrontation. However,
there's more than one way to skin a cat...
Somali military officials confirmed that they successfully repelled the attack and currently control the area, with the situation now reported to be calm.

Colonel Ali Mohammed Jimcale, a senior SNA officer stationed in the region, told the media that al-Shabaab had attempted to seize Nuurdugle but were met with strong resistance from Somali forces. He stated that the bully boyz suffered heavy losses, with several of them killed during the fighting.

Explosion in Somali capital kills 11 15 in army recruitment camp, Shaboob jacket wallah prevented from doing worse
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] At least 11 people were killed in an explosion at a military recruitment center in Mogadishu, and several others were injured. This was reported on the social network X by the SMS Somali TV channel.

The incident took place at the Damaanyo military base during the recruitment process for the Somali National Army.

According to Dalsan radio, the explosion was carried out by a suicide bomber who was among the young people wanting to enlist.

None of the groups operating in the country have yet claimed responsibility for the incident. Somali authorities have not commented on the incident. The area where the incident occurred has been cordoned off.

The number of casualties reported is significant and may rise.

Local news site Shabelle Media:
Somali Government Confirms Suicide Attack at Mogadishu Recruitment Camp
A jacket wallah targeted a military recruitment centre in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, on Saturday, the government said, as unconfirmed reports indicated significant casualties among army hopefuls.

The blast occurred around 9:20 am outside the Damaanyo military camp, where large crowds of young men had gathered to enlist in the Somali National Army. The Ministry of Information confirmed the attack in an official statement.

Unverified reports suggest that more than 11 people may have been killed, with some sources placing the corpse count as high as 20. Dozens more were reportedly injured, though this could not be independently confirmed.

According to the government, the attacker was intercepted by security forces before reaching his intended target within the facility.

"The assailant failed to reach his objective of inflicting mass civilian casualties," the ministry said.
Local news site Garowe Online adds:
The al-Shabaab group claimed responsibility for the military recruitment base in Mogadishu, Sunday, in one of the deadliest attacks targeting hundreds of young men intending to join the armed forces in Somalia.

Struggling with an insufficient number of troops on the frontlines, the government of Somalia had started a recruitment process in Mogadishu, targeting young and energetic men, with the Somali National Army racing against time to assume security responsibilities.

According to reports, a suicide bomber detonated explosives, killing at least 15 people, with 20 more were critically injured. The injured people are receiving medical treatment in various hospitals within Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

The attack occurred as dozens of youths lined up voluntarily to join the army in the Damaanyo barracks, southwest of Mogadishu. Through one of the radio stations affiliated with its activities, the Al-Shabaab militants claimed responsibility for the attack.

Previously, the militants have used similar tactics to paralyse national events, including an attack against the Turkish military training school in Somalia, where the elite Gorgor troops are prepared. The militants usually try to upset the recruitment policy of the SNA.

The government has deployed several soldiers in various frontlines to fight the militants, but the group has recently made inroads, including the seizure of the strategic Adan Yabaal town within the central regions. The group is also believed to have infiltrated the Somali National Army.
More from Garowe:
Authorities in Moqokori, led by the District Commissioner, have not ruled out the Al-Shabaab's involvement in the latest case, but preliminary indications suggest the soldier may have been under the influence of narcotics. He noted that drug use among government troops, even in combat zones, remains a huge setback.

Houthis Claim Rocket Strikes Ben Gurion Airport, but actually the IDF shot it down
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Yemeni Houthis from the Ansar Allah movement launched two ballistic missiles at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. This was stated on May 18 by Yahya Saria, a spokesman for the armed forces formed by the Houthis.

"Yemen's rocket forces carried out a military operation, attacking Ben Gurion Airport in the occupied Jaffa region with two ballistic missiles. The operation achieved its goal and forced millions of occupiers to take refuge in bomb shelters," a spokesman for the movement said on Al Masirah TV.
A much more realistic aim than actually hitting Israel, since yesterday we were informed that the IDF shot down one, while the other was never even on Israel’s radar — presumably falling very short.
A Houthi spokesman also said Yemeni rebel forces launched an attack drone towards the Israeli airport on the morning of May 17.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on May 18, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recorded a new rocket attack from Yemen. It is noted that air raid sirens were activated in several areas of Israel after the rocket was launched from Yemen. Later, the IDF reported intercepting the rocket.

Earlier it was reported that the IDF intercepted a rocket launched from Yemen on May 9, and on May 4 Israel reported that debris from a rocket launched from Yemen fell in the Ben Gurion area. After the rocket attack, the use of airspace was suspended for an hour, then the airport resumed receiving and releasing aircraft.

Three U.S. State Department Advisors Gunned Down at Taco Stand in Mexico
[Breitbart] Authorities in Mexico are looking into the targeted killing of two men and the injury to a third who provided training to Mexican police agencies and worked as advisors for the U.S. Department of State and other agencies.

The attack took place on Friday night in the city of Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, where a group of gunmen pulled up and began firing dozens of shots at three men who were eating tacos.

The three men had just finished teaching a series of courses to Jalisco State Police officers.

Breitbart News Foundation confirmed that Chavela and Cajigal worked as advisors for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement.

Similarly, Guzman worked with Interpol and various other agencies, including Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office and the Jalisco State Police.

While a motive for the targeted killing has not been revealed, the city where the attack took place is controlled by Cartel Jalisco New Generation, one of the Mexican criminal organizations designated as terrorists by the U.S. Department of State.

Drug Lord 'Double R'. Who Killed a Famous Beauty Blogger Live on Air
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Olga Kuznetsova

[REGNUM] For several days now, the Spanish-speaking segment of the Internet has been actively sharing an ominous video in which a curly, golden-haired beauty in a pink bodysuit is rapidly sent to the next world.

Viewers of the uncensored versions understand that the girl was shot, and on the table - right in the area of the dying woman's cleavage - a pool of blood can be seen.
Titillating. Might have been the aortic arch.
The deceased turned out to be a well-known Mexican beauty blogger Valeria Marquez from the municipality of Zapopan in the state of Jalisco. The girl often appeared on social networks, demonstrating her luxurious lifestyle.

Here you have posing on board private jets, bouquets of hundreds of roses taken from all angles, and gatherings with girlfriends in expensive restaurants.

Evil tongues said that Valeria owed all this not to her blogging success, but to very specific boyfriends involved in the criminal world of Mexico.

At the moment, local investigators have not been able to establish the cause of the murder, but one thing is clear: it is unlikely that drug cartels were involved.

DANGEROUS "FRIENDS"
Valeria arrived at the beauty salon in Zapopan where she worked and planned to stream for her subscribers. At the same time, she was expecting a gift from an unknown admirer, so when the courier entered the room, she was not at all scared.

The man fired several accurate shots and quickly fled the scene, most likely on a motorcycle, as killers in this region do.

Social media immediately suggested that the girl had been “ordered” by her ex-boyfriend Jesus Hernandez, a millionaire and one of the influential members of the Honduran mafia, who is wanted.

There was evidence that Hernandez threatened Marquez and she even told someone somewhere about it. The girl did not take any real measures for her own safety.

A little later in the story, another character emerged - a member of the Jalisco New Generation cartel nicknamed "Double R" (RR, Double R - he has many names like that).

In the world, Double R turned out to be Ricardo Ruiz Velasco , who first came to the attention of law enforcement after successfully organizing riots in the states of Guanajuato and Jalisco in August 2022.

Then Ricardo Ruiz not only paralyzed traffic in several cities by precisely marking the locations for car blockades, but also showed himself to be a talented media manager.

He organized the mass distribution of videos filmed on the streets of cities in chaos, showing cartel fighters threatening rivals and police and promoting the invincibility of the Jalisco New Generation.

It is unknown how Double R and the beauty blogger met, but there were quite a few people who claimed that there was some kind of relationship between the two and that Ricardo was very jealous.

Allegedly, because Valeria easily accepted gifts from other members of the Jalisco New Generation cartel, as well as from fans of this organized crime group.

A less frivolous person would have every reason to fear Ricardo's jealousy. It turns out that several years ago he was a suspect in the unsolved murder of Venezuelan model Daisy Ferrer Arenas .

The girl was dating one of the regional leaders of the Jalisco New Generation cartel, did something wrong and was kidnapped from the bar where she worked at the time.

Daisy was held captive for several days and then executed with a shot to the head. Her body was dumped in a gutter. One of the four killers involved in this black deed, according to separate accounts, was Double R.

Valeria allegedly knew very well what Ricardo was capable of, was very afraid of him, but even in this version of events she did not take any real precautions.

There were people who suggested that Double R and the former Valery from Honduras were acting together - they say, the Jalisco New Generation cartel is cooperating with the organized crime group of this small Central American country, so there is no contradiction here.

IT'S ABOUT JEALOUSY
The story of Valeria Marquez's murder could not do without the famous "cherchez la femme".

Social media users found recent videos and photos where Valeria danced and hugged with her equally beautiful friend and wrote that they had finally made peace, although they had recently been “fighting to the death.” The reason for the conflict remained unknown to the public.

Other details also emerged: it turned out that this very friend had advised Valeria to stay in the beauty salon and stream. Right during the broadcast, she had been sending her messages asking her to stay longer, and the day before, she had allegedly said goodbye to her with the words, “Next time I won’t see you in person.”

There has been no official confirmation of this version from the authorities of the state of Jalisco and the municipality of Zapopan. However, everyone agrees on one thing - the main motive of the customer was clearly jealousy.

SPOILED THE STATISTICS
Valeria Marquez's murder is currently being investigated under the so-called femicide protocol, when it comes to killing a woman for hateful reasons. The problem is so widespread in Central and South American countries that a separate term was even coined to describe it.

Girls often become both accidental victims of mafia clashes and incur the wrath of drug cartels who are not accustomed to ceremony and are alien to chivalrous morals.

Apparently, something exactly like this happened to Valeria, who got involved with representatives of the criminal world.

As experienced matrons note, many young Mexican women want to date drug lords and devote their time to improving their appearance, and not at all to education or building a career.

The calculation is simple: such a lover, husband or (best of all) father of the child will provide physical protection and financial support. Girls prefer not to think about the fact that at some point they will have to pay for their relationship with a criminal - maybe it will pass.

Valeria Marquez was not spared. The mayor of Zapopan confirmed that the girl had indeed received threats and that the murder was clearly a contract killing.

True, the official made a reservation that such a case was only an isolated episode, and in general they are successfully solving the problem of violent crimes in the state of Jalisco. If, they say, what happened to Valeria had not happened, then the crime statistics would have been quite acceptable.

While the authorities are frantically simulating a vigorous investigation into the murder, information has already leaked into the media that the sinister Double R is not even on the list of suspects.

It is possible that his name will eventually disappear from the case file, as once happened in the case of Daisy Ferrer.

Huge protest in The Hague demands Dutch government draw ‘red line’ on Gaza war
Literal Red Shirts demonstrating their heartfelt impotence and Jew hate.
[IsraelTimes] Organizers say 100,000 attend demonstration, calling it the Netherlands’ biggest protest in two decades, as new Israeli military offensive begins in war against Hamas terror group

Tens of thousands of red-clad protesters marched through the Dutch capital on Sunday to demand that their government do more to halt Israel’s campaign in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, in what organizers called the country’s biggest demonstration in two decades.

Human rights groups and aid agencies — including Amnesty International, Save the Children and Doctors Without Borders — estimated the crowd at more than 100,000 people.

The protest came as Israel launched the first stage of a new offensive in the Strip, dubbed "Gideon’s Chariots," aiming to "seize strategic areas" of the enclave. Hamas
..one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,...
-linked officials, who don’t distinguish between civilians and fighters, have reported over 100 people killed over the last 24 hours.

"We hope this is a wake-up call for the government," said teacher Roos Lingbeek, attending the march with her husband and their 12-week-old daughter, Dido, who slept in a carrier as her parents brandished a sign simply reading: "STOP."

David Prins, whose yarmulke was printed with the image of a watermelon — which shares the colors of the Paleostinian flag — told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named he was attending the protest "to speak out against the atrocities." The 64-year-old was standing across the street from the synagogue he attended growing up, which overlooks the field where the demonstration began.

Protesters walked a 3-mile (5-kilometer) loop around the city center of The Hague, to symbolically create the red line they said the government has failed to set.

Videos of the protest captured crowds chanting "From the river to the sea, Paleostine will be free!" — a phrase often interpreted as calling for the elimination of Israel altogether — as well as "Free, free Paleostine." Crowds also chanted, "Starving people is a crime."

The Hague is the site of both the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, both of which have seen cases in which Israel and its leaders are accused of violating international law, including by intentionally starving the Gazook population, during the campaign against Hamas.

Israel denies the allegations, pointing to its efforts to avoid civilian casualties, and, for much of the war, to facilitate the flow of aid into the enclave. Israel also points to Hamas’s practice of embedding itself among civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools and mosques.

Marjon Rozema, of Amnesty International, told the AP on Sunday, "We are calling on the government to stop political, economic and military support to Israel," while the country continues to block humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Aid hasn’t entered Gaza since March 1, with Israel arguing that sufficient humanitarian assistance entered the Strip during a six-week ceasefire and that Hamas had been stealing much of that aid.

In recent weeks, though, some officials in the IDF have begun warning the political echelon that the enclave is on the brink of starvation. Israel has been involved in creating a new body — the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation — to distribute aid in the Strip. The GHF said it would begin to operate in the Strip by the end of the month, though Israel has yet to confirm this.

Dutch policy toward Israel is just one of many issues causing splits in the Netherlands’ fragile coalition government. Hard-right leader Geert Wilders is staunchly pro-Israel and his anti-immigrant Party for Freedom holds the largest number of seats in the country’s parliament.

Last week, however, foreign affairs minister Caspar Veldkamp of the minority center-right VVD party urged the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
to review a trade agreement with Israel, arguing that its blockade of humanitarian aid violated international law. Wilders hit back, denouncing the call as an "affront to cabinet policy."

The war in Gaza began October 7, 2023, when some 5,000 Hamas-led bully boyz invaded southern Israel from the Strip, killing some 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages. Fifty-eight captives remain — including 20 who are believed to be alive, and three about whom the government has grave concerns —and 35 who have been confirmed dead by the military.

At least four killed in explosion near FC fort in Qila Abdullah
[GEO.TV] At least four people were killed and several others injured in a kaboom near FC fort in Balochistan

The explosion occurred near Jabbar Market, adjacent to the back wall of the FC fort, in the Balochistan's district.

Deputy Commissioner Riaz Khan said that at least 20 persons were maimed in the earth-shattering kaboom and shifted to different hospitals.

Detailing the incident, Khan said that several vehicles and shops were destroyed in the powerful blast as Death Eaters apparently wanted to target the wall of FC fort.

Armed men and FC soldiers also exchanged fire following the kaboom.

According to the government official, some maimed persons were being shifted to Quetta due to lack of health facilities in the area.

At the time of the earth-shattering kaboom, tribal leader Haji Faizullah Khan Ghabizai was also present at his office. The tribal leader, his security guard and a passerby were also among maimed persons.

Heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies cordoned off the whole area and commenced a search and clearance operation.

Another Israeli teen arrested for spying for Iran on former PM Bennett during hospital stay
One has to wonder if Shin Bet has known about these people for a while, and just waited to pick them up — tracing back to their handlers and beyond in the meantime…
[IsraelTimes] 18-year-old documented floor on which ex-premier’s bodyguards were located, police say, alleging he knew it could harm Israel’s security, but did so for money

The police and Shin Bet last month arrested an Israeli citizen suspected of spying for Iran, including on former prime minister Naftali Bennett during a hospital stay.

In a joint statement Sunday, the Israel Police and Shin Bet said Moshe Attias, an 18-year-old resident of the central Israeli city of Yavne, was "in contact with Iranian terror elements and carried out a large number of different missions on their behalf."

Attias did so "with the understanding that [the missions] could harm the security of the state," and did so for money, the statement said.

Among other tasks, Attias is suspected of "gathering intelligence in the cardiology department of a hospital in central Israel," presumably Kfar Saba’s Meir Medical Center, where former prime minister Naftali Bennett was hospitalized last month, undergoing a cardiac catheterization.

"He documented, at the request of an Iranian operative, a floor in the hospital containing a room with guards protecting the former prime minister," the statement said.

Police said that Attias carried out other missions for his Iranian handlers, but did not elaborate on the additional suspicions.

Bennett’s office said in a statement Sunday that the former premier was "confident in the Shin Bet, in the IDF, and in all the security bodies, and is continuing his tours and meetings with the Israeli public all throughout the country."

"Iranian attempts to assassinate world leaders have failed and will fail here too, and will certainly not deter Bennett from continuing his activities for the sake of Israel’s security," the statement continued.

His office also called on Israel to take a more aggressive position towards Iran, insisting that "Tehran, not Tel Aviv, should be on the defensive."

The former premier is expected to re-enter politics ahead of Israel’s next elections, which must take place next fall at the latest, with polls showing Bennett potentially pulling ahead of Netanyahu. Last month, he announced the formation of a new party, with the temporary name "Bennett 2026."

LATEST IN SERIES OF SPYING CASES
Over the past two years, Iranian intelligence operatives have ramped up their efforts to recruit ordinary Israelis as spies in exchange for money.

There have been several recent cases — including one on Friday — in which Iran

Israel announces military operation in north and south of Gaza Strip
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) ground forces have launched a large-scale ground operation, "Gideon’s Chariot," in the northern and southern areas of the Gaza Strip. This was reported on the Israeli army's Telegram channel.

"Over the past week, the Israeli Air Force has carried out a preliminary wave of strikes, hitting more than 670 Hamas terrorist targets across the Gaza Strip in an effort to disrupt enemy preparations and support ground operations," the statement said.

It is specified that the Israeli military hit such targets as warehouses with weapons and ammunition, launchers of anti-tank missiles, underground infrastructure facilities. It is also claimed that members of the movement, recognized by the Israeli side as terrorists, were eliminated.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the Gaza Strip Health Ministry reported on May 18 that 96 people were killed and more than 140 were injured after the morning attack by Israel. The ministry noted that civilian objects were hit. The ministry also added that after the resumption of shelling by Israeli troops in Gaza, a total of more than 3,000 people were killed and about 9,000 were injured.

The IDF also struck the Palestinian semi-exclave in early May. According to Al Jazeera, at least 66 people were killed in an Israeli air force attack on May 7, and 63 Palestinians the day before.

Israel to allow food into Gaza to prevent famine

Israel will allow the import of a “basic amount” of food products to the Gaza Strip to prevent the threat of famine in the enclave. This was reported on May 18 by the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"On the recommendation of the Israel Defense Forces and in view of the urgent need to expand the intensive fighting to defeat Hamas, Israel will provide the population with basic food supplies to prevent a hunger crisis from arising in the Gaza Strip," the statement said.

Netanyahu's office also added that Israel intends to work to prevent Hamas from taking control of the distribution of humanitarian aid so that it does not end up in the hands of terrorists.

The office added that the hunger crisis would jeopardize the continuation of the large-scale ground operation "Gideon's Chariots" to defeat Hamas

9 arrested at hundreds-strong anti-war protest along the Gaza border
[IsraelTimes] Police and border cops arrested nine protesters this evening during a hundreds-strong march along the Gaza border calling for an end to the war, as Israel ramps up its offensive in the Strip.

The protest, a march from the Sderot train station to the border with Gaza, was planned and approved in advance with police and the army on short notice, in light of yesterday’s announcement of a major new offensive dubbed “Gideon’s Chariots.”

Officers declared the anti-war demonstration illegal when protesters tried to burst onto Route 34 near the border. Organizers call the move a “non-violent act of civil disobedience, confronting police brutality, to block the roads leading the army into Gaza.”
Every word a lie.
Footage from the march shows several protesters attempting to disrupt traffic on the road while calling for an end to the war in Hebrew and Arabic, as police rush to shove demonstrators away from the highway guardrail. They later carry away several protesters to police vehicles, detaining them for questioning.

Among those arrested is prominent left-wing activist Alon Lee Green, who co-founded the Standing Together movement.

Gaza health ministry says all public hospitals in north 'out of service'
[GEO.TV] The health ministry in Gaza said Sunday that all public hospitals in the north of the territory were now "out of service" after Israeli forces besieged the Indonesian hospital.

"The Israeli occupation has intensified its siege with heavy fire around the Indonesian hospital and its surroundings, preventing the arrival of patients, medical staff, and supplies — effectively forcing the hospital out of service," the ministry said.

several others convicted over their roles in deadly attacks on a Shiite shrine in the southern city of Shiraz, the judiciary said Sunday.

The verdicts stem from two shootings — in October 2022 and August 2023 — that killed 15 people at the Shah Cheragh mausoleum in the capital of Fars province. The attacks were claimed by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. group.

"Three of these defendants were sentenced to death for aiding and abetting in ’corruption on earth’ following proceedings" at Shiraz Revolutionary Court, Fars chief justice Sadrollah Rajaei-Nasab said, quoted by the judiciary’s Mizan Online website.

They were also sentenced to 25 years in prison for "aiding and abetting in moharebeh," he added, referring to the capital offence of enmity against God.

Two other alleged members of the jihadist IS were sentenced to 15 years and 10 years in prison "based on their level of cooperation and influence in the Shah Cheragh terrorist events."

Two women were each sentenced to five years, but "their sentences will be served under Islamic leniency, monitored by electronic ankle bracelets, and within a one-kilometer radius of their homes."

Rajaei-Nasab said other parts of the case, including charges related to weapons trafficking, remained under review, and that some verdicts had been appealed to Iran’s Supreme Court.

In July 2023, Iran executed two men in public over the first attack on the shrine.

Following the second attack, the judiciary said in August 2023 that security forces had arrested nine people — all foreigners — and later sentenced a Tajik IS member to death the following month.

Soldier among 2 hurt in Israeli strike on car in South

despite a November 27 truce which sought to halt more than a year of hostilities with Hezbollah including two months of full-blown war.

Under the ceasefire, the Iran-backed Hezbollah was to pull back its fighters north of Lebanon's Litani River and dismantle any remaining military infrastructure to its south.

Israel was to withdraw all its forces from Lebanon, but it has kept troops in five areas that it deems "strategic".

The Lebanese Army has been deploying in the area as Israeli forces have withdrawn and has been dismantling Hezbollah infrastructure there.
