The Ministry of Defense (MoD) in a statement said Habib Naseri, one of the prominent commanders of Taliban, departed this vale of tears which he had sustained during an airstrike a week ago.
The statement further added that Naseri sustained injuries during an airstrike which the Afghan forces conducted in Kanam Village.
The airstrike killed multiple Talibs and maimed several others, the statement said, adding that Naseri died of his wounds on Friday night.
According to Ministry of Defense, Naseri was involved in major terrorist related activities and killings of Kunduz residents.
[KhaamaPress] An Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... killed 6 Talibs in northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan, a day after similar airstrikes killed 21 holy warriors in the same province.
The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said the security forces conducted an airstrike in Aqacha district of Jawzjan province at around 10:30 pm local time on Friday.
The statement further added that the airstrike killed at least 6 Talibs.
The security forces conducted the airstrike as part of the ongoing operations to suppress the holy warriors in Jawzjan, the 209th Shaheen Corps said, adding that a similar airstrikes killed 21 Taliban ...Arabic for students... militnats in the same province on Thursday.
The 209th Shaheen Corps also added that the airstrikes also killed three commanders of the group on Thursday.
[ToloNews] "146 non-combatants were killed and 430 others were maimed"in attacks "initiated by the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... " during the holy month of Ramadan," the Office of National Security Council (ONSC) said on Friday amid a surge in violence in several areas across the country.
"The Taliban showed zero respect for civilians and the agreement was to reduce violence, and they have continued their deadly campaign against the Afghan people in the last week of the holy month of Ramadan. They killed 25 civilians, including women and kiddies, and maimed 89 across 20 provinces," tweeted Javid Faisal, a front man for ONSC.

[ToloNews] In an unexpected move, the Taliban ...Arabic for students... on Saturday announced a three-day ceasefire with the Afghan government on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
A statement issued by the group’s front man Zabihullah Mujahid on Twitter said that the Taliban will not stage any attack on ’enemy’ forces, but will maintain the right to defend itself against potential threats.
An Eid ceasefire was called for by the Taliban also in June 2018.
Earlier last month, President Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money... appealed to the group to announce a ceasefire during the holy month of Ramadan, but the group at the time rejected Ghani’s appeal and instead called him an "obstacle" in the way towards the grinding of the peace processor, and cited his delays of a prisoner release called for in the US-Taliban agreement.
Violence has dramatically increased in Afghanistan over the past few months since the US-Taliban peace deal signed in Doha on February 29.
Since the US invasion in 2001 there has only been one other pause in the fighting — a surprise three-day ceasefire between the Taliban and Kabul marking the religious festival of Eid in 2018.
During the brief lull in fighting, Afghans responded joyfully, with Taliban fighters, security forces and civilians hugging, sharing ice creams and posing for selfies in previously unimaginable scenes.
[ToloNews] A "key member" of the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... has been arrested in an operation in Herat ...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... province on Friday, the National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... (NDS) said in a statement.

Qari Shafi was "dropped by the Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps on the border," according to the statement, which added that he was involved in "assassinations" and security incidents on highways."
He "intended to launch attacks on the Pashtan Dam and also increase attacks on the highways," the statement said.
"Also, he was involved in terrorist attacks in Herat city over the past year and a half," it added.
[Jpost] Twitter accounts that follow air traffic revealed unusual movements by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... ’s Air Force.
Ottoman Turkish Air Force jets appeared to increase their activity in relation to a conflict in Libya on Saturday. Libya is divided between the Libyan National Army, backed by the UAE and Egypt and the Government of the National Accord in Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... , backed by Turkey and Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... . Turkey has been pouring in drones and armored vehicles and Syrian rebel mercenaries to help Tripoli fight. Russia and others are backing the LNA.
Twitter accounts that follow air traffic revealed unusual movements by Turkey’s Air Force. An account called "Yoruk Isik" posted about "Turkey establishing itself in Libya," showing that the 222nd Ottoman Turkish squadron with two C-130s had allegedly flown from Istanbul to Libya. It was the fourth flight in 24 hours, the commentator noted.
Another user named "Gerjon" noted that Ottoman Turkish air Force E-7 Boeing 737 airborne early warning and control radar aircraft were also active this evening. He argued that the C-130 was in fact a Casa CN-235. Another mysterious Beechcraft Super King turboprop also flew into Libya. Also a Libyan GNA Ilyushin IL-76 flew from Istanbul to Libya. A Qatari C-17A also was thought to be en route to Libya.
Meanwhile it appears that other flights arrived to bolster the LNA. A Syrian Cham Wings flight flew into Benghazi on Friday. It appears that allies of the LNA and GNA are trying to bolster their role in Libya in recent days after Ottoman Turkish drones helped the GNA take a strategic airbase.
The LNA has lost numerous Russian-made Pantsir air defense. They are in desperate need of better weapons to confront Turkey’s drones. There are also questions about damage done to a reinforced hanger at Watiya airbase which appeared to come from a bomb far larger than a Ottoman Turkish drone could have dropped. This means the air war in Libya could be growing. It is a contest between Ottoman Turkish technology and Russian air defense as well as Chinese-made drones apparently supplied from the UAE. So far Turkey’s equipment seems to have the upper hand.

[AlAhram] Egypt’s police potted 21 Lions of Islam in shootouts in North Sinai. The interior ministry said the Lions of Islam had planned to carry out attacks during Eid El-Fitr holiday.

Both the house and the farm were raided concurrently, and during the shootouts 14 bad boyz were potted in the farm. The ministry said police found 13 automatic rifles, three bombs, an boom belt, and a wireless radio in their possession.

[Resett.no] British politician Nigel Farage was criticized for claiming that patrol boats from the French coastguard were escorting boat migrants into British waters.
The criticism was partly that he broke quarantine rules, but also that he was heartless "towards people struggling to survive", as Christine Jardin of the Liberal Democrats puts it.
Nigel Farage is the politician and EU opponent who led the UKIP (United Kingdom Independence Party). He received much of the credit for the British opting out of the EU. Today he heads the Brexit party and has his own program on LPC Radio.
An increasing number of boat migrants Muslim invaders have arrived in the UK lately. The trend is compounded by the Corona crisis, as the number of border crossings with trucks and trailers has been sharply reduced. Farage has called this "the beginning of an invasion ".
SKYNEWS CONFIRMS
The day after Farage claimed he had seen French patrol boats escort boat migrants, parts of the old media admit the same, Breitbart writes . SkyNews says (about a boat with migrants): "They were followed as soon as they left the beach."
According to SkyNews, no attempt was made to stop the boat migrants.
"It had been shadowed pretty much from the moment it left the beach"
[PJ] The Venezuelan Navy is escorting 5 Iranian tankers filled with gasoline that are now nearing the Venezuelan coast, leaving the United States with few options to stop them.
Both Iran and Venezuela are under economic sanctions by the U.S. and the trade in oil is seen as illegal in Washington. The U.S. Navy has ships in the Caribbean that could interdict the Iranian tankers before they make port. Sources in Washington have sought to downplay the military option.
Down to the bottom line:
If Admiral Miller is right and there are Revolutionary Guard forces on the ships, it would make intercepting the vessels not only legal but necessary. With the civil war in Syria winding down, Iran can afford to project its power by sending forces that would be loyal to Nicolas Maduro. Given the Guard’s behavior in Syria toward civilians and reluctant Syrian troops, it would be a brutal deployment.
Realistically, a confrontation on the high seas with Iran or Venezuela would no doubt result in a U.S. military victory. But it would complicate our efforts to force Maduro out of office by using international pressure. Our allies would scatter if we were seen as heavy-handed enforcement of the sanctions.

Let them offload their cargo. Provide no warning, jam their communications and destroy the lot in heavy seas on their way home. Say nothing more to the press or anyone.
#2
The IRGC are already there with Maduro. If they are on ship, looks like a shift change.
I think the Gold was already sent for this. You Could sieze it right now legally - IF your intel is correct, or let them get more brazen and find a real reason to.
#3
Is "filled with gasoline" an established fact, an assumption or a diplomatic pretense?
Given the Iranians' and Venezuelans' rhetoric and behavior one could suspect that something of much higher importance is being shipped.
Plainly:
Is there nuclear weapons related material on board that the Iranians want to keep safe from an Israeli strike and that the Venezuelans want to use to project power in South America?
#7
Ignore them. but let it be known that if the tankers show up in any other port that nation will be considered for severe economic sanctions as well.
#11
We have no dog in this fight. The gold will run out and the gasoline will follow.
The Ayatollahs are squeezed as if by a python. A few tankers of gas don't mean much when they need to export 3M barrels/day at @100/bbl just to limp the economy along.

[Rudaw] Two Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) leaders were killed in a joint raid by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and US-led anti-ISIS coalition in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria on Sunday, according to a Coalition statement.
According to the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) statement released on Friday evening. Ahmad ’Isa Ismail al-Zawi, otherwise known as Abu Ali al-Baghdadi, was the leader of ISIS in North Baghdad, and Ahmad ’Abd Muhammad Hasan al-Jughayfi, a senior supplies and logistics leader across Iraq and Syria, were killed in the May 17 operation.
"The removal of these ISIS leaders will disrupt future attacks against innocent civilians and our security partners and in the region," the statement read.
The deaths of Zawi and Jughayfi deals yet another blow to the turban holy warrior group after the recent transport of senior ISIS leader Nasser al-Qardash to Iraq after being held in detention by the Kurdish-led SDF in eastern Syria for a year. His transfer to Iraq was announced by the Iraqi Intelligence Service on Wednesday.
ISIS controlled vast swathes of Iraq and Syria at the height of its power between 2014 and 2016. Though the group was declared defeated in Iraq in December 2017 and in Syria in March 2019, the group have maintained the ability to carry out turban attacks including kidnappings, killings and ambushes, particularly in rural areas - as reiterated by a Pentagon report on the group's activities published last week.
Though the deaths and detentions of high-profile figures leave a "surely weakened" ISIS, they are not enough to definitively destroy the group, security analyst Husham al-Hashimi told Rudaw on Thursday.
