[FREEBEACON] A group of 40 representatives wrote a letter to the Justice Department and State Department on Thursday urging them to immediately expel any Turkish personnel involved in a violent attack on protesters in Washington, D.C., earlier this month.
"This may be how they deal with dissenters in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... , but here in America that's against the law," Rep. Randy Hultgren (R., Ill.) said in a statement about the letter. "Our country is founded on the rights of free speech and freedom of peaceful assembly. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan's security team's brazen, physical assault on American citizens and legal residents peacefully protesting his policies is outrageous and follows a disturbing pattern. Foreign leaders, diplomats, and staff are invited guests of our nation, and they should act as such. All of those involved--at all levels--must be held accountable."
The attack on protesters came on May 16 during Turkish president Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him... 's visit to the United States. A few minutes after Erdogan arrived at the Turkish ambassador's residence in Washington, D.C., a number of his bodyguards and supporters rushed a group of protesters and began beating them. D.C. Police eventually separated the attackers from the protesters but not before a number received injuries requiring hospitalization.
Erdogan's government responded to the incident by blaming the protesters for instigating the attack despite video evidence that contradicts their claims. "The demonstrators began aggressively provoking Turkish-American citizens who had peacefully assembled to greet the President," the Turkish embassy said in a statement on the incident. "The Turkish-Americans responded in self-defense and one of them was maimed. The violence and injuries were the result of this unpermitted, provocative demonstration."
The Turkish government, which recently cracked down on free press in Turkey, has yet to respond to questions from the Washington Free Beacon.
The investigation into the attack is still ongoing and currently includes resources from the State Department, Secret Service, and D.C. Police. "The investigation remains active and is being conducted jointly by the Department of State's Diplomatic Security Service, U.S. Secret Service, and MPD," D.C. Police spokesperson Rachel Reid told the Free Beacon. "All three law enforcement agencies are actively sharing information and will remain in contact as the investigation proceeds."

[IsraelTimes] Authorities raise official corpse count from bus shooting to 29.
The Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... jihadist group on Saturday grabbed credit for an attack on a bus in central Egypt that killed dozens of Christians, its propaganda arm said.
"A security detachment from the Islamic State carried out an attack yesterday in Minya, targeting a bus carrying Copts and taking the lives of 32 of them," Amaq reported.
Earlier on Saturday, Egyptian authorities increased the official corpse count from the attack in Minya province to 29.
The Egyptian Cabinet said in a news release that 13 victims of Friday’s attack remained hospitalized in Cairo and the southern province of Minya where the attack took place. Authorities had previously said 28 were killed.
Senior Egyptian officials said fighter jets targeted bases in eastern Libya of the Shura Council, an Islamist militia known to be linked to al-Qaeda, not the Islamic State group. There was no immediate word on damage.
Egyptian fighter jets carried out strikes on Friday directed at camps in Libya which Cairo says have been training holy warriors who killed dozens of Christians earlier in the day.
Egyptian military sources said six strikes took place near Derna in eastern Libya at around sundown; hours after masked gunnies attacked a group of Coptic Christians traveling to a monastery in southern Egypt, killing 29 and wounding 24
East Libyan forces said they participated in the air strikes, which had targeted forces linked to al-Qaeda at a number of sites, and would be followed by a ground operation.
Al Qaeda in North Africa training ISIS cadres who were seconded some time ago from the Moslem Brotherhood? Sounds like the end of the saying "...and all Moslems against the unbelievers." Brothers fighting together against cousins can take place later.
A resident in Derna heard four powerful kabooms, and told Rooters that the strikes had targeted camps used by fighters belonging to the Majlis al-Shura murderous Moslem group.
Majlis al-Shura front man Mohammed al-Mansouri said in a video posted online that the Egyptian air strikes did not hit any of the group's camps, but instead hit civilian areas.
Gunmen did not shoot randomly
Eyewitnesses said masked men opened fire after stopping the Christians, who were in a bus and other vehicles on a desert road. Local TV channels showed a bus apparently raked by gunfire and smeared with blood.
Eyewitnesses said three vehicles were attacked. First to be hit was a vehicle taking children to the monastery as part of a church-organized trip, and another vehicle taking families there.
The gunnies boarded the vehicles and shot all the men and took all the women's gold jewelry. They then shot women and kiddies in the legs.
When one of the gunnies's vehicles got a flat tire they stopped a truck carrying Christian workers, shot them, and took the truck.
One of the gunnies recorded the attack on the Copts with a video camera, eyewitnesses said.
The attack took place on a road leading to the monastery of Saint Samuel the Confessor in Minya province.
Security forces launched a hunt for the attackers, setting up dozens of checkpoints and patrols on the desert road. Police armed with assault rifles formed a security perimeter around the attack site while officials from the public prosecutor's office gathered evidence. Heavily armed special forces arrived later wearing face masks and body armor.

Bangladesh’s Dhaka Committee chief Nur Hossain Kashemi on Friday demanded removal of all idols from public places in the country.
He made the statement in front of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after the Jumma prayers. Prior to that, supporters of the Islamic group had staged what they called a "thanksgiving procession."

[Dhaka Tribune] Law Minister Anisul Huq has remarked that the Lady Justice statue was removed from the Supreme Court premises because it was a ’distorted idol’ of Greek goddess Themis.
"That idol was distorted. We did not want to keep this distorted object. Would have to face questions from the next generation if the distorted object was kept there," he told news hounds at event on Saturday.
Anisul also noted that it was the Chief Justice who decided the removal. The minister continuously referred to the statue as an idol.
Asked if a real statue of Greek goddess Themis could be installed as a replacement of the ’distorted statue’, he said, "I cannot comment on that."

"What she said was that Eid congregations are held there. The statue was installed beside the Eidgah in such a way that it falls in the anterior during the prayers," he said.
"There is no question of removing the statues in Bangladesh that recalls and embodies the spirit of the Liberation War," he said.

[Dhaka Tribune] Just a day after being removed from in front of the Supreme Court, the statue of Lady Justice was reinstalled before the annex building of the apex court late Saturday night.
Mrinal Haque, the sculptor of the blindfolded and sari-clad figure of a woman, confirmed the news to Bangla Tribune.
After the statue was displaced on the early hours of Friday morning, the incident garnered much criticism with many demanding immediate reinstalment.
Holding a sword in one hand and a scale in the other, the statue is considered a symbol of justice.
The work of re-erection on the Supreme Court premises started around 8pm.
Around 11:15pm Mrinal said: "I received the Supreme Court’s order to reinstall it this morning. Hence, the statue is being reinstated from 8pm. The complete task to reinstall the statue will end in an hour."
He said: "Erecting the statue in front of the annex building after removing it from the Supreme Court is not the same thing. Being on focus and being inside are separate things."
Some 30 people were working to reinstall the statue, he said.
When contacted, an official of an intelligence agency around 11pm said a decision was taken to reinstate the statue.

[DailyMail] The bomber travelled to fight on the frontline during the 2011 Arab Spring to topple dictator Muammar Qadaffy ...Proof that a madman with money will be politely received for at least 42 years until his people get tired of him and kill him... alongside his father Ramadan Abedi, a 51-year-old airport security guard with links to Al Qaeda.
Ramadan was one of the men from the North West in Libya who called themselves the 'Manchester Fighters'.
One of the men, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was convicted three years ago of helping jihadist recruits to travel to Syria and Iraq to fight for the terrorists. He had dropped out of college in Manchester and joined the western-backed uprising in Libya in 2011 at the age of 17.
The second man was charged with terrorism offences and spent time in prison on remand before the prosecution offered no evidence. His father was sanctioned by the US more than a decade ago for financing the LIFG.
A friend of Salman's father, Akram Ramadan, 49, said: 'A lot of dads went to fight Qadaffy in 2011.
'We went and fought together, we were really known, our unit fighting in the hills was called the Manchester Fighters.'

Belal Younis, another British citizen who went to Libya, said an MI5 officer stopped him as he returned to the UK. He said they “told me the British government have no problem with people fighting against Gaddafi”.
He said he was stopped again as he returned to Libya and told he could be committing a crime if he fought, but the same MI5 officer called him to tell him that he had “sorted it out”.
Don't miss any of our scheduled contacts and we'll keep it all "sorted out." See you soon.
[DW] Dr. Elham Manea spent four years studying sharia councils in Britannia. Talking to DW in the aftermath of the Manchester attack, she reveals how parallel societies give rise to radicalization and how to prevent it.
How large are these communities?
It depends. Quite often you see them like clusters in certain cities. The problem has more to do with the fact that in places like Birmingham or Bradford, you see certain areas where more than 40 percent of the population are of the Islamic faith.
There is nothing wrong with having groups from different backgrounds or a certain faith. The problem is the clustering of certain ethnic groups with certain religious backgrounds in certain areas can lead to social problems - specifically with the spread of certain fundamentalist interpretations of Islam within these communities.
The nonviolent forms of Islamization are even more important. Because those who are willing to blow themselves up are at the last stage of a radicalization process.
How important is it for the more radicalized ones to stay separate from main society because they don't want to have anything to do with the "infidels"?
There are systematic structures that make sure that the youth are separated from their outside environment ideologically. In Koran schools that follow the Deobandi strand of Islam and in their mosques, they tell children not to emulate the unbelievers, not to behave like them, not to love them, not to associate with them. So we can pour as much money as we want into combating violent extremism, but at the same time we seem to ignore that the nonviolent forms of Islamization are even more important. Because those who are willing to blow themselves up are at the last stage of a radicalization process. And we don't seem to want to look at what is happening before, because it would push us to raise serious questions about the type of integration, structures or policies that we have - or the lack of them.
A lot of politicians do not have the courage to look at the public interest. In Britannia - in other countries as well, but I am talking right now specifically about Britannia - if we don't act in a way that tackles the roots of the problems, Britannia will continue to be on high-alert when it comes to terrorism. And it is not coming from outside. It is coming from within.
What should the politicians do in the public interest?
They should insist on certain kinds of policy measures. I just mentioned Koran schools for instance. From my perspective, any self-respecting politician should insist that Koran schools be supervised by a state authority like any kindergarten. You would not allow a kindergarten that teaches hate speech. But the moment we say this about a Koran school, everybody will say this is a no-go zone.
It is about time that we see which types of lessons are being taught at Koran schools, ending this ghettoization, making sure that we have some kind of infrastructure of nonviolent Islamists.
Something going on with North Korea that hasn’t "leaked" out to the media yet?

If by goodies you mean nukes, they all have them. When I was in the Navy, albeit 37 years ago, all carriers had real weapons on board, on every deployment.

Strangely enough, if you check the Navy's info page online, the Nimitz isn't listed underway. (Vinson, Bush, Reagan.)

IIRC, it has long been the Navy's policy to neither confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear weapons aboard any particular vessel. Except SSBNs, of course.

Actually, in the case of North Korea, a nuke with "Fuck Yeah" stenciled on the side would be appropriate.
My only concern is figuring out a way to vaporize Fat Boy and his cabal of geriatric generals and most of the army with out killing all of those poor bastards that eat grass and bark to live.

After noodling around, the story I've got several places is the Vinson battle group has had a couple of 'minor to serious kinda' engineering causualties and the Nimitz group (that was supposed to leave for the Persian Gulf as of 6/1) has been sent as relief. The probs aren't on the big boat, but some of the Aegis boats are chugging along, and they're the ones needed front and center at the moment.

[TheLocal.se] The man suspected of carrying out a truck attack in Stockholm on April 7th had links to a jihadist leader through social media, according to Sveriges Radio.

He killed four and injured 15, considerably fewer than he'd planned because his bomb didn't explode. This proves that Allah did not approve...
had access to propaganda from jihadist leader Abu Saloh through an intermediary, including sermons about the need for violent jihad, the public broadcaster reports.
The propaganda is mostly spread through Russian social media site Odnoklassniki, where the anonymous intermediary has added Akilov as a friend, meaning he could receive the propaganda which is mostly aimed at migrant workers from Central Asia.
Among the profiles in the network are several people saying they come from or live in Sweden.
Abu Saloh is the leader of an Uzbek Islamist group which is fighting in Syria and has links to Al Qaeda.
Saloh is the leader of an Uzbek Islamist group which is fighting in Syria and has links to Al Qaeda. He is suspected of planning terror attacks in the past, and is wanted by Interpol for terror crimes and financing terror. The digital trail also leads to an Uzbek myrmidon training site, according to Sveriges Radio, where there are instruction videos on how to use different weapons.
It is not clear whether Akilov himself communicated with the turbans in the network however.
Akilov, 39, has confessed to driving the truck in the April attack in Stockholm in which five people were killed. He admitted to committing a "terrorist crime" during a remand hearing at Stockholm District Court last month.

[Hurriyet Daily News] Galatasaray has become the first team to remove the word “arena” from the name of its stadium after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s latest instruction to the sports minister to order the removal of the word from the names of all stadiums across the country.
The decision to rename Türk Telekom Arena was taken at the club’s board meeting on May 27.
Alper Narman, a board member responsible for the stadium, told daily Hürriyet that the stadium will be renamed Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex Türk Telekom Stadium as of May 29.
A name that trips off the tongue in moments of excitement...
Erdoğan said on May 26 that he had instructed the sports minister to order the removal of the word “arena” from the names of all sports stadiums across Turkey.
“I am against ‘arenas.’ You know what they do in arenas, don’t you? People were dismembered there (by animals) I have given the instruction to the minister and we will remove the name ‘arena’ from stadiums.
You know what they do in stadiums? If they are the Taliban, among others, they conduct their beheadings and stonings in stadiums. Congratulations on moving from ancient Roman atrocities to modern Moslem ones, Erdogan Bey.
There is no such thing in our language. Look at the definition, there cannot be such a thing,” he said.
The president had previously signaled his unhappiness with the term “arena,” heralding the latest order.
Meanwhile, Türk Telekom CEO Paul Doany stated that the company supported the president's call and reached consensus with Galatasaray to rename the stadium.

The ongoing purge was one thing. It makes a kind of totalitarian sense, but this guy has now wandered into the 'the official language of San Marcos will now be Swedish.' zone.
It turns out even the Norwegians can be embarrassed, at least temporarily.
[IsraelTimes] Oslo also calls for removal of country’s logo from facility honoring Dalal Mughrabi, says it won’t back future projects under current conditions.
Norway’s foreign minister on Friday condemned the Paleostinian Authority for naming a women’s center in the West Bank, funded in part by the Scandinavian country, after a female terrorist.
"The glorification of terrorist attacks is completely unacceptable, and I deplore this decision in the strongest possible terms. Norway will not allow itself to be associated with institutions that take the names of turbans in this way. We will not accept the use of Norwegian aid funding for such purposes," Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende said in a statement.
Brende’s comments were made in reference to a new women’s center opened earlier this month in the West Bank town of Burqa. The center was named after Dalal Mughrabi, who took part in the 1978 Coastal Road Massacre. Mughrabi and several other Fatah turbans landed on a beach near Tel Aviv, hijacked a bus on Israel’s Coastal Road and killed 38 civilians, 13 of them children, and maimed over 70.
Brende said that Norway had been unaware of the decision to name the center after Mughrabi. He demanded that the country’s name be removed from the center and that the funds it gave for construction be returned.
"We have asked for the logo of the Norwegian representation office to be removed from the building immediately, and for the funding that has been allocated to the center to be repaid," he said.
He also said that Norway would no longer participate in similar projects until the country receives assurances "that nothing of this nature happens again."
"We will not enter into any new agreements with either the Paleostinian Election Commission or UN Women in Paleostinian areas until satisfactory procedures are in place to ensure that nothing of this nature happens again," he said.
Israel commended Oslo’s action, with Foreign Ministry front man Emmanuel Nahshon saying "Norway took the right step -- a tough line against memorializing turbans is an integral part of the international effort to eliminate terror. We recommend that the international community take thorough steps to check where the money it invests in the PA is going."
Norway’s rebuke of the PA came after the Norwegian branch of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem brought the matter to the country’s attention on Friday, the organization said in a statement, while thanking Brende for his "swift and clear" response.
"The Paleostinian Authority undermines the quest for peace in this region, and violates all standards of human decency, when it decides to glorify and perpetuate the despicable legacies of turbans like Dalal Mughrabi," ICEJ President Jurgen Buhler said. "The Norwegian government acted properly when it condemned this immoral action by the Paleostinian Authority."
Paleostinian Media Watch, which first brought attention to the naming of the women’s center, quoted a local village leader saying that "the center will focus especially on the history of the struggle of Martyr Dalal Mughrabi and on presenting it to the youth groups, and...constitutes the beginning of the launch of enrichment activities regarding the history of the Paleostinian struggle.
