[ToloNews] Local officials from Baghlan said the corpse count from the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
’s complex attack on the police headquarters in Pul-e-Khumri city has risen to 20, with 18 of the victims members of the Afghan National Police (ANP).

On Sunday, the police headquarters of Pul-e-Khumri city in the northern Baghlan province faced a complex attack by a group of eight button men at around 12pm on Sunday, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.

Provincial health officials said that at least 60 people among them women and kiddies were maimed in the attack.

The attack started with a boom-mobile kaboom outside the police headquarters and was followed by at least six hours of gunbattle between the attackers and the holy warriors.

The Ministry of Interior said the attackers were equipped with boom jackets and that all of them were killed by the Special Unit of Police.

"First, they carried out a suicide kaboom with a Humvee full of explosives from the northern gate of the police headquarters," said Abbas Tawakoli, the commander of 3rd Brigade of 217 Pamir Army Corps.

"Most of them fled, but some others got bullets while escaping the scene and some others were stuck inside the rooms and were martyred," said an Afghan solider speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
"Fear from Allah and the prophet and the Ramadhan. Why are you doing this?" asked a Pul-e-Khumri resident, referring to the Taliban.

Taliban claimed the responsibility for the attack and claimed that a jacket wallah detonated a Humvee full of explosives at the beginning of the attack.

Warlord Haftar’s armed group robs millions from armored truck in Nafusa Mountain
[Libya Observer] An gang from Zintan under the command of Idris Madi, a military officer loyal to warlord Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. to the banks in the mountain town of Jadu as Ramadan allocation.

The gang intercepted the van on Sunday near Shakshuk village, north of Jadu, and kidnapped the security personnel accompanying it, all from Jadu.

The robbery sparked anger in Jadu where local residents were waiting for the cash to buy Ramadan goods. The city’s military council moved troops to Shakshuk to take military action against the gang.

Later, military leaders from Zintan under the command of Tripoli-based Libyan Army intervened and promised to settle the incident peacefully and send the cash delivery to Jadu.

Jadu Military Council accused warlord Khalifa Haftar of attempting to drag the mountain region into a large-scale war to ease pressure on his gangs in south Tripoli.

Libya's Haftar orders his forces to continue fighting during Ramadan
[Libya Observer] Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
has ordered his forces to continue fighting during Ramadan, saying this holy month is a month of jihad and Islamic conquests.

"When we were fighting in Benghazi and Derna, we did not stop the battle in Ramadan at the time." Haftar said in a statement read by his forces' front man Ahmed al-Mismari on Sunday.

Haftar said terrorism is still persistent in Libya and is destroying its economy using mercenaries who are supported by money and weapons by many countries.

"The fighters should target the enemy and attack them quickly and in surprise. They should maintain their ammunition to pursue the retreating enemy." Haftar added.

Meanwhile,
...back at the hanging, Butch continued with his last words, trying not to repeat himself too often......
sources close to Presidential Council's Volcano of Rage Operation said the forces managed to cut off supply lines of Haftar's forces in different frontlines, saying Haftar's forces have acute shortages of foods and low morale because they thought the battle would be fast, yet it entered the second month.

The UNSMIL called on Sunday on all parties to commit to an extendable one-week humanitarian truce
..The purposes of a truce are twofold: 1.) bring up more arms, ammunition, and reinforcements; and 2.) get the enemy to relax his vigilance. A truce is not the same thing as a ceasefire, and a ceasefire doesn't mean you have to stop shooting...
starting Ramadan 01, but Haftar's statement came as a clear rejection to such a call.

Militant attacks in Mozambique kill seven, threaten voter registration
[AlAhram] Suspected Islamists have killed seven people in northern Mozambique in weekend attacks, threatening aid to victims of Cyclone Kenneth and paralysing ongoing voter registration for October elections, local sources said on Monday.
That is probably the group referred to variously as al-Shabaab, Ansar al-Sunnah, or Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jamo, but mostly by the generic descriptor “suspected Islamists”..
Islamist fighters have terrorised remote communities in Mozambique's gas-rich, Moslem-majority Cabo Delgado region since October 2017, killing around 200 people and forcing thousands from their homes.

Between Friday and Sunday at least four separate villages were attacked in northern Cabo Delgado, local sources said.

"Armed men invaded the district of Meluco, specifically the village of Minhanha, killed three people, and burned about 100 houses on Sunday night," a local source, who did not want to be identified fearing retaliation, told AFP.

Sunday's attack followed another on Saturday that killed a teacher riding a cycle of violence and three other people who were burned to death in Macomia district.

The attacks were the first since Cyclone Kenneth smashed into the country's northern region on April 25, leaving at least 41 dead and more than 240,000 affected.

The delivery of aid to cyclone-hit areas has been underway, but the attacks put aid distribution at risk while they "paralysed" voter registration.

"Insurgents invaded the villages of Iba and Ipho, in the district of Macomia," Magda Mendonca from the Public Integrity Center, an anti-corruption NGO that is also an election observer, told AFP.

Mendonca said the attackers "plundered property without causing human casualties," but added they "paralysed an ongoing voter registration."

"The successive attacks are disturbing the voter registration process in the region," Mendonca said.

General elections are scheduled for October 15.

On Friday, suspected Islamists also attacked another registration centre in the city of Nacate, also in the Macomia district.

According to local sources, "the button men vandalised equipment without causing human casualties."

Macomia was hit by the second cyclone to strike Mozambique in six weeks, after Cyclone Idai which killed more than 600 in the central parts of the country.

US hands Chicago bomb plotter Adel Daoud 16-year prison sentence
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A US judge on Monday sentenced a 25-year-old who was incarcerated
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
as a teenager for an attempted boom-mobileing in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
to 16 years in prison.

Adel Daoud was 18 years old when he was arrested in 2012 for attempting to engage in "violent jihad" by blowing up a bar in the Midwestern city’s downtown.

Daoud thought he had a boom-mobile, but undercover agents had in fact given him a dummy device and arrested him after he attempted to detonate it.

Daoud, a US citizen who lived in the Chicago suburb of Hillside, entered a guilty plea in November, in an unusual arrangement where he did not admit wrongdoing.

A federal judge’s sentence Monday, which included 45 years of supervised release, was less than the 40 years imprisonment prosecutors were seeking.

Daoud was to be credited the seven years he has already spent behind bars.

According to an affidavit in the case, two undercover FBI agents contacted Daoud in response to the material he posted online and began exchanging messages with him.

"During these communications, Daoud expressed an interest in engaging in violent jihad, either in the United States or overseas, referred to his ongoing efforts to recruit other individuals to engage in violent jihad and mentioned that he had discussed plans for an attack with ’trusted brothers,’" read the affidavit.

Daoud sought guidance on carrying out a terrorist attack, was eventually given a phony bomb in a Jeep by an undercover agent and attempted to detonate it in front of a bar.
It really could be taken as a proof of God's benevolence that so many of these jihadis are seriously lacking in the brain department.
Daoud’s lawyers had raised questions about his mental health over apparent delusions such as claiming the government, judge, and attorneys were all part of a vast conspiracy and members of the Illuminati.
If they weren’t telling him to commit jihad, they don’t count.
In a separate case, Daoud had also pleaded guilty to trying to solicit the murder of an FBI undercover agent and attacking another inmate while in jail.
Golly. I imagine they through the book at him for that one.

His son is a gun runner, his brother is a no-flyer. He works for the FBI.
[FoxNews] Former FBI linguist charged with lying to authorities about contact with terrorist.

A former FBI linguist allegedly obstructed a bureau investigation after he lied to officials when he heard a suspect in a terrorism investigation leave a message on his own voicemail.

Abdirizak Jaji Raghe Wehelie, 66, of Burke, Virginia, was arrested Saturday night when he arrived on a flight at Dulles International Airport just outside Washington, D.C. and is set to appear in a Virginia courtroom Monday.

Wehelie was charged with obstructing an investigation and making false statements to the FBI.

Prosecutors allege that in 2016, Wehelie was translating messages captured by court-ordered surveillance of a suspect's cell phone when he discovered one call was a message that the suspect left on Wehelie's voicemail. According to court records, Wehelie wrote the person on the call was an unidentified male, failing to note he was the actual recipient of the message.

When investigators pressed Wehelie about his connection, he initially denied it. However, investigators were able to connect the two men with each other as early as 2010. Wehelie eventually admitted he had known the suspect for years.

Law enforcement officials said the FBI was monitoring the calls as part of an investigation into a former Virginia cab driver who left the United States to join a terror group in Somalia. Liban Haji Mohamed was briefly on the FBI's list of most-wanted terrorists.

If convicted, Wehelie faces 25 years in prison.

This isn't the first time Wehelie’s family has been in the crosshairs of counterterrorism investigators. His son, Yusuf Wehelie, was sentenced to a decade behind bars after being caught in a sting operation moving guns for cash. Yusuf Wehelie's elder brother, Yahya Wehelie, was held in Egypt in 2010 on a trip back from Yemen and is on a "no fly" list.
This is what happens when you accept the Muslim translators’ refusal to work after 9/11 if Jewish translators are also hired.
The Daily Mail adds:
  • Abdirizak Wehelie, aka Haji Raghe, was arrested Saturday night at an airport after returning to the U.S. on an international fight

  • Son Yusuf Wehelie spoke with an undercover witness about his desire to shoot up a military recruitment center on behalf of the Islamic State group

  • Yusuf and another son Yahya were barred from returning to the U.S. in 2010

  • A terror suspect linked to Al Shabaab left a voicemail message on Wehelie's cellphone, one of 180 phone contacts from 2010 to 2017

  • Wehelie allegedly intentionally misidentified his own voice, court documents say

  • A judge ordered he be freed on $20,000 unsecured bail following his initial appearance Monday

#2  I'm not familiar with the term 'unsecured bail',however thanks to the interwebs...
This is very similar to ROR bail and is often referred to as signature bail. The defendant must still sign a bond promising appearance at future court dates. But if she fails to appear and a bench warrant is issued, she will be required to pay the amount of the bond. It is still considered unsecured, in that the defendant is freed based on her word even though it is ultimately secured by a bond.

So yeah, basically catch and release.

The Cell pointed out in a press statement that troops of Salahuddin Operations Command, backed by al-Hashd al-Shaabi, conducted an operation to cleanse an island, in eastern Tikrit, from the remnants of the Islamic State group. It also added that the main goal of the operation is to impose stability and security in the area.

Furthermore, the statement revealed that the security operation was launched from three axes, while indicated that its results will be announced soon.

According to Wikipedia, during the Northern Iraq offensive, the Islamic State group took control of the city of Tikrit. Later, the Iraqi Army made an attempt to recapture the city, which resulted in heavy fighting.

On June 12, ISIS executed more than 1500 Iraqi Air Force cadets from Camp Speicher at Tikrit. The Iraqi government blamed the massacre on both ISIS and members of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party ‐ Iraq Region. By July 2014, government forces had withdrawn from Tikrit.

[IsraelTimes] Obada Alami accused of being in contact with terror operatives in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

, filming strategic sites, and collecting money.

Prosecutors on Monday filed an indictment against East Jerusalem resident Obada Alami, 39, accusing him of espionage, contact with a foreign agent, and terror activities, the Justice Ministry said in a statement.

According to the charge sheet, lodged at the Jerusalem District Court, Alami had been in contact since October 2018 with two Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, terror group operatives who were in Turkey.

At their request, he filmed and gathered information about strategic security sites in Israel, including military bases and airports, with full knowledge that his activities were designed to help Hamas military operations, the indictment said.

Additionally, Alami is accused of collecting money from 2017 to 2018 and transferring it to Hamas to fund its operations.

The Hamas members also asked Alami to give them names of people suspected of selling land to Jews or of cooperating with Israeli security forces, according to the charge sheet.

The Shin Bet security service has in the past accused Turkey of helping Hamas raise and launder funds for its terrorist activities against Israel.

The policemen then left the scene on Chonnabot Road. The two bombs were detonated at almost midnight. Chopped steel rods, other shrapnel and the impact of the bombs damaged the armored truck, including its windows.

Fighting kills 26 in Syria’s northwest
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Clashes between Syrian regime forces and turbans Monday killed more than 26 fighters in the country’s northwest, which has seen an escalation in shelling and air strikes, the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Eleven pro-government fighters were among those killed in fierce fighting in the northern countryside of Hama province, the war monitor said.

Fifteen bully boys, including members of al-Qaeda’s former Syrian branch, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham
(HTS), and its ally the Turkistan Islamic Party, were also killed, the monitor said.

The fighting came as regime forces advanced on two villages and a strategic hilltop in the region, it said.

State news agency SANA said Syrian troops launched "intensive operations," targeting supply lines and areas where gangs operate in northern Hama and neighboring Idlib.

The region held by HTS has faced intensifying bombardment in the past month, prompting a new wave of displacement.

On Monday, four non-combatants were killed in shelling and air strikes on Idlib and neighboring areas by the Syrian government and its ally Russia said the Observatory. An AFP photographer in Idlib saw several houses completely destroyed by recent attacks.

One man who lost his wife, his daughter-in-law, and his two grandchildren during shelling overnight prepared a pickup truck to relocate surviving members of his family. "I don’t know where I’m going," he told AFP.

More than 140,000 civilians have been forced to flee attacks since February, Refugees International said on Monday.

"It is difficult to overstate the urgency of this looming humanitarian disaster if nothing is done to protect these people," the non-governmental organization said in a statement.

Escalated attacks have hit schools and medical facilities, according to the UN.
