Chicago’s Memorial Day Weekend Gets Bloody Kick-Off with 23 Shot, Four Dead
[BREITBART] reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
’s Memorial Day weekend got a brutal start with 23 people shot and four killed from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening. And there are still two more days of the long holiday weekend to go.

Officials hastened to note that the numbers for the first hours of the three-day holiday weekend are on par with last year’s bloodletting, Chicago’s WGN TV reported.

But even as the statistics seem familiar, the carnage is happening amidst a major police offensive with the Chicago Police Department (CPD) sending 1,000 officers into the streets to tamp down the violence.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
It's not right to equate sexual assault with misplaced compliments: Morgan Freeman
[IMAGES.DAWN] Morgan Freeman says he likes to compliment people to make them feel at ease around him but that he has never sexually assaulted women.

The Academy Award-winning actor is fighting back against charges of bad behavior made by multiple women in a CNN report this week. He said in a statement late Friday that the report has devastated him and that "it is not right to equate horrific incidents of sexual assault with misplaced compliments or humor."

Following the report, Visa announced it was suspending all of its marketing that features the actor’s voice.

CNN’s story includes one movie production assistant who said Freeman unsuccessfully tried to lift her skirt. Other women talked about unwanted touching on their backs and shoulders. Mostly, Freeman’s accusers say he would comment about their bodies or clothes or make them uncomfortable by staring. A male former employee of Freeman’s production company said the 80-year-old actor would behave like a "creepy uncle."

One of the article’s authors, Chloe Melas, began working on it following a press junket where she said Freeman clasped her hand, looked her up and down and made comments like, "you are ripe."

"I admit that I am someone who feels a need to try to make women, and men, feel appreciated and at ease around me," Freeman said. "As a part of that, I would often try to joke with and compliment women, in what I thought was a light-hearted and humorous way. Clearly I was not always coming across the way I intended."

...Even better may be to come. When Harvey Weinstein turned himself in the other day, he was rather ostentatiously carrying a book by Elia Kazan, the Hollywood director who was reviled by the community for having named names during the McCarthy era. The inference is that if ol' Harv is going down, he's taking people with him.

I believe that Conan the Barbarian should be paraphrased here: "What is best in life? To see your enemies #MeToo'ed, to see them digitally erased, and to hear the lamentations of their agents and significant others."

#7  Be interesting if, in addition to naming other Hollywood lechers, he names women who were willing in order to get into the acting biz.
They'd have no defense, since, 1, they were in the biz, and, 2. there were no witnesses so the inference is, and, 3. as Handsy Harve's attorney said, he didn't invent the casting couch.
Each one of the named women may well be completely innocent. But the smear will not go away.

Jeez, what a mess. As to the circling torpedo...what were they thinking? That this could never happen?

#8  Jeez, what a mess. As to the circling torpedo...what were they thinking? That this could never happen?

...Well, yes. In their little world everybody got along and kept their mouths shut and hated Trump. On the political side, we've seen more than a few guys who were allowed to keep on assaulting women because they voted the right way (see also 'Eric Schneiderman'), and it's quite likely the glitterati felt the same rules applied there - "We say the right things, so we'll be forgiven'. Remember Harvey's FIRST statement when this came out? He was going to double down on the NRA, f'r God's sake. He really thought that would bail him out.

Worst part is that it's going to change, just not the way they want. It's possible the overt harassment and assault will throttle back considerably - for a while at least - but remember that the major players in Hollywood will still be overwelmingly men. Scared men. Vengeful men. I'd be willing to bet that when this is over, the actresses who were the first to #MeToo will find that a great many doors once open are now closed.

'Active shooter' video game prompts outrage in wake of mass shootings
[FoxNews] "Active Shooter," a video game that allows players to simulate a school shooting, prompted outrage in the wake of multiple mass shootings at American schools.

The game is set to be released on June 6 and will be available on Steam, a digital distribution platform developed by Valve. Players are given the option to either be a SWAT team member or the shooter while simulating a shooting in a school environment.

"Pick your role, gear up and fight or destroy!" the game description on the website says.

"Only in ’Active Shooter’, you will be able to pick the role of an Elite S.W.A.T team member or the actual shooter," the website reads. "Depending on the role, your objective might be to protect and extract or hunt and destroy."

The developer, on the game’s Steam page, says "please do not take any of this seriously," but that is unlikely to mollify critics. Players are given "game stats" where they can see how many civilians and police officers were killed.

The game has been criticized as it arrives shortly after 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis entered Santa Fe High School in Texas, killing 10 and wounding 10 others.

Infer Trust, an anti-gun violence organization, told the BBC the game is "in very bad taste" given the fact that there have been 22 school shootings in the U.S. since the beginning of this year.

"It is horrendous. Why would anybody think it’s a good idea to market something violent like that, and be completely insensitive to the deaths of so many children? We’re appalled that the game is being marketed," the spokesperson said.

Following the shooting in Santa Fe, Texas, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has blamed the makers of violent video games and films for promoting a "violent culture where we’ve devalued life." Patrick said in a Texas Tribune report that a state-funded incentive program meant to lure film, television and video game creators to Texas should not allow certain projects, or he might have to withdraw his support for the initiative.

Steam said in a statement on its site that the game "does not promote any sort of violence, especially any sort of a mass shooting," referring back to the phrase "dynamic SWAT stimulator."

But considering such a "high amount of critics and hate," the developer will "likely remove the shooter's role." However, this does not change the school setting.

Valve did not immediately return a Fox News request for comment.

Afghanistan
Bank director and 3 workers shot dead by own guard in Uruzgan province
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The director of New Kabul Bank and his three employees were rubbed out by a security guard in Tarinkot city, the scenic provincial capital of Uruzgan province.

The governor’s front man Dost Mohammad Nayab said the incident took place at noon time in a branch of the New Kabul Bank.

He said one of the security guards of the bank has rubbed out four employees of the bank while two other employees sustained injuries in the attack.

He said the main motive behind the deadly attack on the employees of the bank has not been ascertained so far.

Uruzgan is among the relatively volatile provinces in South of Afghanistan where the Taliban

However,
women are made to be loved, not understood...
it is yet not clear if the rogue security guard had any links with the turban groups or not.

In the meantime, the head of the National Directorate of Security
...the Afghan national intel agency...
of Uruzgan, Abdul Samad Shams, said preliminary investigations indicate that the attack was carried out on bank employees after a verbal clash with the head of the security guards of the bank.

He said the head security of the bank opened fire on the employees, leaving at least four dead, including the director of the bank.

22 killed in clashes in Cameroon English-speaking region: MP
[AlAhram] Twenty-two people have been killed in festivities with the army in Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
, an opposition MP said Saturday, in the latest violence to hit the restive northwest, where separatists from the English-speaking minority are fighting for greater autonomy.

The identity of those killed was not immediately clear, with the army describing them as "terrorists" and villagers saying they were criminals.

The festivities come after the US ambassador to Cameroon accused government forces earlier this month of carrying out assassinations and other abuses in the fight against the independence-seeking holy warriors.

"Twenty-two people were killed Friday in Menka during a confrontation... (between the army and) a group of people that were presented as criminals," said Nji Tumasang, a member of the English-speaking opposition Social Democratic Front (SDF) in Santa, the area in which the town of Menka is located.

Violence between snuffies and government forces has occurred almost daily in the region since a political crisis escalated in late 2016.

An army official confirmed the incident, speaking of "several neutralised terrorists".

"A group of murderous Moslems was reported in Menka" and the military intervened to surround the hotel where they were, army front man Colonel Didier Badjeck said on Facebook.

He added that a "watchman alerted (the occupants of the hotel) which gave rise to long exchanges of fire lasting several minutes".

Several weapons and ammunition had been seized, he added.

An SDF delegation led by leader John Fru Ndi visited Menka on Saturday, Tumasang said.

"The people in the village confirmed that there was an exchange of fire, and some bodies were found in the motel rooms," Tumasang said.

"In the village, people do not think they were separatists, but rather criminals", he said.

He added that families in Menka had told him that 18 people were also killed on Thursday. The bodies of eight young men had been found, according to witnesses.

The presence of a large English-speaking minority -- about a fifth of Cameroon's population of 22 million -- dates back to the colonial period.

It was once a German colony and was divided between Britannia and La Belle France after World War I.

In 1960, the French part gained independence, becoming Cameroon, and the following year, the British-ruled Southern Cameroons was amalgamated into it, becoming the Northwest and Southwest Regions.

For years, resentment built among anglophones, fostered by perceived marginalisation in education, the judiciary and the economy at the hands of the French-speaking majority.

Demands for greater autonomy were rejected by 85-year-old President Paul Biya, in power for more than 35 years, leading to an escalation that saw the declaration of the self-described "Republic of Ambazonia" in October last year.

Erdogan pokes the Bear

[Regnum.ru] TBILISI , May 27, 2018 , 21:29 - REGNUM The Turkish authorities support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.

The Minister of Defense of Turkey Nurettin Janikli stated this at the roundtable "Cooperation for the sake of well-being is the strategy of the century", organized in Tbilisi on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Georgian Democratic Republic, as the "Anadolu" agency reports.

According to him, Ankara stands for the settlement of the problem of Abkhazia and South Ossetia within the internationally recognized borders of Georgia.

It should be recalled that after the August 2008 war launched by the Georgian side, the Russian Federation recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and considers them sovereign states.

Elderly woman found in trash dump accuses sons of beating her up
[DAWN] An elderly woman was found amid a pile of trash in Sukkur's Bus Terminal area on Sunday and taken to the hospital by passers-by. According to the woman, her two sons allegedly beat her up over a family dispute and then left her in a semi-conscious state. She added that residents of the area took her to the district hospital.
In the Moslem world, only women have mothers. Men have imams.
Sukkur SSP Muhammad Amjad Sheikh took notice of the incident and ordered that strict action be taken against those involved in the incident.
"Bring 'em in, Sergeant Chaudry!"
"Uhhh... Why, Chief!"

SSP Sheikh also announced that he would personally take care of all of the woman's medical expenses. He directed that the woman be shifted to a private hospital in Sukkur.
"But Chief! None of her relatives'll be able to get in to... uhh.. discus... her story with her!"
One of the sons was jugged
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
by the police but denied any involvement in the incident. He claimed that his mother had gone missing from home.
"Yeah. I dunno why the old bitch left home. She didn't even do the dish before she left!"
Separately, Bahria Welfare Foundation, following news of the incident, sent a team of the foundation's workers to Sukkur.
"Mount up and ride, men! She's got sons on the loose!"
The team, after examining the woman at the private hospital, decided to transfer her to Bloody Karachi

"Send the bills for the armed guards to the family!"
Bahria Welfare Foundation Manager retired commander Muhammad Arif told DawnNewsTV that the foundation will "provide the best possible healthcare to the woman".
"Unless the family gets to her. In that cse, she's toast."
"We will not let her be left alone even after she has fully recovered," said commander Arif.

Missing boy found dead in Nawabshah graveyard
[DAWN] A teenage boy, missing for the past 23 days, was found dead in a graveyard on Sunday in Daulatpur town of Nawabshah, police said.

The 13-year-old was a resident of village Laiq Dahiri from where he went missing in early May.

"The matter was reported to the local police well on time, however, no concrete efforts were made to ensure safe recovery of the child," the devastated father of the victim alleged.

The parents of the victim feared that the boy was sexually assaulted before he was killed. The dear departed's body was transported to Qazi Ahmed hospital in a police mobile for a post-mortem examination before it was handed over to the parents.

SSP Shaheed Benazirabad Sajid Ameer Sadozai, when contacted, said that samples have been collected for a DNA test to verify whether the boy had been sexually assaulted or not. The facts behind the boy's death can only be revealed after the autopsy report is furnished by medical examiners.

The SSP said that the police had made all possible efforts for safe recovery of the child. He added that the condition of the recovered body suggested that the boy was killed on the same day he had gone missing.

The police will register a case upon the arrival of the boy's parents, the SSP added.

A Memorial Day Story
[HutchNews] ASHLAND - Uncle Willard is finally coming home.

It has been 77 years since Navy Seaman 1st Class Willard H. Aldridge died during the attack on Pearl Harbor which brought the United States into World War II.

Now Aldridge will receive the recognition he deserves for serving his country. At 11 a.m. his remains, escorted by a six-man honor guard team, will be buried in Highland Cemetery.

Many of Ashland’s 890 residents have pitched in to make the day special. Local high school students are receiving a first-hand history lesson as they videotape the experience, the local VFW named in Aldridge’s honor plans to grill 200 steaks following the service.

"A whole lot of time and effort has gone into bringing him home," said Raymond Sumners, Denver, a nephew who was two years old when his Uncle Willard died.
From what I understand, the High School Students did more than just video, they made the trip to the airport and was part of the escort to Ashland. I also understand that people honored the convoy as it passed through the various towns en route to Ashland. Quite a story and an excellent piece of work by everyone involved. Backfire: David Hogg's Publix Boycott Diminishes Same-Sex Marriage, Abortion Funding
[Breitbart] Gun control activist David Hogg’s boycott and protests against Publix grocers hurts funding for same-sex marriage and abortion.

He targeted Publix because they gave nearly $700,000 to pro-gun gubernatorial candidate Adam Putnam (R).

Hogg’s protest included a "die in" in the aisles of a Publix store
I don't know what happened officer. The bag of oranges just slipped out of my hand!
and chalk outlines of 17 persons on a Publix parking lot:

Publix agreed to cease donations to Putnam following the protests. However, so as to be fair to all customers, they also announced they would cease donations to more liberal-leaning causes too. These include donations that would go toward same-sex marriage and abortion.

#2  How bout all corporations just send that money back to their shareholders and rebate some of it to their customers. If they wanted, they could include a brochure explaining "If you share our views, donate HERE." That way, if you don't share their views you are not funding things you disagree with.
