[NYPOST] The white man pummeled to the floor in a viral video taken at a Macy’s in Michigan after allegedly using the N-word is an employee who was assaulted in an "unprovoked" attack, company officials said.
Footage of the brutal beatdown Monday at a Macy’s in Flint Township showed a white man being knocked to the floor by a black man at the Genessee Valley Center mall.
A portion of the video posted to Facebook by rapper FT Quay claimed the white man was punched several times after he was overheard referring to a black man as a "n—-r."
After a review of the footage, Macy’s has confirmed that the unidentified victim worked at the location. Company officials are assisting police looking for two men they say were involved in the attack, MLive.com reports.
"We are deeply saddened about the incident that took place on Monday as Macy’s Genessee Valley, as the safety of Macy’s customer and colleagues is our top priority," a Macy’s spokesperson told the outlet. "Violence in the workplace of any kind is unacceptable. All the materials from the evening have been reviewed and it is clear that the attack was unprovoked."
Both Macy’s and the mall have since brought on additional security staffers since the incident, WNEM reports.
Company officials declined further comment, referring additional inquires to Flint Township police.
"We are looking for them as we speak," Lt. Brad Wangler told MLive.com of the man who punched the employee and FT Quay, whose Facebook profile indicates he’s from Grand Blanc, Mich. "It’s not something that’s been put on the back burner. We want to find out what happened."
Police responded to the Macy’s after getting an assault complaint at about 5:45 p.m. Monday, police said in a statement Friday.
"Officers learned an employee of the store was assaulted by a young black male who expeditiously departed at a goodly pace with a second individual after the assault," police said. "Store surveillance video confirmed the assault against the employee. Investigators also learned the assault was recorded by the second individual and shared on social media."

Didn't consider adding Bleeding Kansas as a category?
Those are believed to be the last words 26-year-old Florida man Sean Cook asked his pal Shea Harkins before a rifle shot took his life and landed his buddy in jail, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
The pair were playing video games at Harkins’ Palm Harbor, Fla. home Thursday evening when the host started showing off a Colt M4 rifle he’d been customizing.
Harkins, also 26, reportedly pointed the gun he believed to have been unloaded at Cook’s chest.
Cook then asked Harkins, apparently kidding, if he planned to shoot him. Later claiming he didn’t know there was a bullet in the rifle’s chamber, Harkins reportedly did just that.
"Victim and (defendant) are best friends," according to a police report. "(Defendant) was showing off a new attachment to his Colt M4 rifle (and) attempted to clear the firearm, but did not."
Cook was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He's dead, Jim! roughly an hour after being shot.
Harkins was charged with manslaughter and locked away You have the right to remain silent... in Pinellas County, west of Tampa.
The police report made it clear there was no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved.

Been on the wrong end of this scene. Luckily the f*wad cycled the action rather than pulling the trigger immediately.

I remember a story years ago about an elderly lady who brought her recently deceased husband's Colt 1911 into a gun shop to sell it. The gunsmith removed the empty magazine, pulled the slide to the rear and released it, pointed the barrel toward the ceiling and pulled the trigger. To their mutual surprise, a round went directly through the ceiling and roof of his shop.
A visual checking of the chamber is an important step in the clearing of a weapon.

Shooters on the line - cease fire - make your weapon safe!
A complete safe weapons is;
--Place the weapon on safe
--Remove the magazine
--Lock the slide to the rear
--Conduct a visual and physical inspection of the chamber and the magazine well
--Look away - conduct a second visual/physical inspection
--Stand by for a safety check from a line instructor
I've easily said this a 1000 times

[NYPOST] A fully intact giant squid washed up on a beach in South Africa earlier this month — a rare sighting for an animal that was only first captured on video in its natural habitat seven years ago.
"Seeing it at first really took my breath away," Adéle Grosse, who spotted the dead animal while on a walk with her husband in Brittania Bay, told Live Science. "Honestly, it looked like a majestic prehistoric animal."
Giants squids, who usually live between 2,000 and 3,200 feet below the surface, are only seen once every few years and washed up carcasses are rarely intact, Michael Vecchione, an invertebrate zoologist at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, told the publication. A live giant squid has never been caught.
[Jpost] Scientists in Italia have found traces of the new coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... in wastewater collected from Milan and Turin in December 2019 - suggesting COVID-19 was already circulating in Northern Italia before China reported the first cases.
The Italian National Institute of Health looked at 40 sewage samples collected from wastewater treatment plants in northern Italia between October 2019 and February 2020. An analysis released late on Thursday said samples taken in Milan and Turin on Dec. 18 showed the presence of the SARS-Cov-2 virus.
"This research may help us understand the beginning of virus circulation in Italia," Giuseppina La Rosa, an expert in environmental wastewater at the Italian National Institute of Health who co-led the research, said in a statement detailing the findings.
Small studies conducted by scientific teams in the Netherlands, La Belle France, Australia and elsewhere have found signs that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be detected in sewage, and many countries are beginning to use wastewater sampling to track the spread of the disease.
La Rosa said the detection of traces of the virus before the end of 2019 was consistent with evidence emerging in other countries that COVID-19 may have been circulating before China reported the first cases of a new disease on Dec. 31.
A study in May by French scientists found that a man was infected with COVID-19 as early as December 27, nearly a month before La Belle France confirmed its first cases.
La Rosa said the presence of the virus in the Italian waste samples did not "automatically imply that the main transmission chains that led to the development of the epidemic in our country originated from these very first cases."
Samples positive for traces of the virus that causes COVID-19 were also found in sewage from Bologna, Milan and Turin in January and February 2020. Samples taken in October and November 2019 tested negative.
The institute said it plans to launch a pilot study in July to monitor wastewater at sites identified in tourist resorts
[NBCNEWS] Brazil's health ministry said that the total now stood at 1,032,913, up more than 50,000 from Thursday. It is second only to the U.S. in cases.

In 10 years, the hydrology study of how the isolated primitive tribes were contaminated will be interesting.
[Telegraph] Oxford University's chancellor has waded into the black lives matter movement's desire to tear down a statue of Cecil Rhodes, saying if Nelson Mandela was "alright" with the Victorian imperialist then it was good enough for him.
Lord Patten said the row over the Rhodes statue should not overshadow a focus on addressing inequality.
He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "I stood along Nelson Mandela at a conference in Westminster Hall with Tony Blair and Bill Clinton in 2003 at which he said how strongly he supported the trust.
"He set up... something called the Mandela-Rhodes Trust to help heal the divisions.
"For all the problems associated with Cecil Rhodes’ history, if it was alright for Mandela, then I have to say it’s pretty well alright with me."
Demonstrators took to the streets of Oxford on Tuesday, which you can see in the video below, to voice their opposition to the Rhodes statue.
An Order of Battle (OB), nuclear forces stationing plan, and strategic assessment recommended by our own 3dc.
[Belfer Center] Fueled by aggressive rhetoric from both capitals, Indian and Chinese ground forces engaged in a standoff between June and August 2017. The Doklam crisis, as it became known, stimulated introspection among officials and experts in both states about the future of their relationship. Politically, both strategic communities largely concluded that the peaceful resolution of border disputes is now less likely, forecasting more rivalry than cooperation. Militarily, Indian discussions on the strength of its military position against China in their disputed ground frontier areas have converged on the view that China holds the conventional and nuclear edge over India in this domain.1
Based on our analysis of data on the location and capabilities of Indian and Chinese strategic forces and related military units, we conclude that this assessment of the balance of forces may be mistaken and a poor guide for Indian security and procurement policies. We recommend that instead of investing in new nuclear weapons platforms that our analysis suggests are not likely to be required to deter China, New Delhi should improve the survivability of its existing forces and fill the gap in global arms control leadership with an initiative on restraint and transparency.
China and India’s deliberately opaque strategic postures make objective assessments difficult. To overcome that problem, this brief introduces a new data compilation, consisting of a variety of published intelligence documents, private documents sourced from regional states, and interviews with experts based in China, India, and the United States. This data is combined with open-source force estimates to provide the most comprehensive public assessment of the location and capabilities of Chinese and Indian strategic forces. The appendix provides a link to an interactive map of Chinese and Indian nuclear and conventional air and ground forces, including descriptions of some simplifications and estimates necessary to display the forces on a map. Our analysis focuses on strategic military strike concentrations as they are postured against one other, excluding border patrol forces, as of January 2018. This makes it possible to examine the strengths and weaknesses of each side’s forces.

[WashingtonExaminer] CBS News drew criticism Wednesday for a headline on a story involving police shooting and killing a black man without mentioning the man allegedly opened fire first.
"Deputies kill half-brother of black man found hanged in park," a CBS headline posted on Twitter Wednesday read, referring to the death of Terron Jammal Boone.
Boone was the half-brother of Robert Fuller, a black man found hanging in a park on June 10 in what was first believed to be a suicide before the coroner walked back that conclusion.
The tweet doesn't include the police report that states officers attempted to stop Boone, who was wanted for kidnapping, spousal assault, and assault with a deadly weapon, at which point he jumped out of his vehicle and opened fire on officers before they shot and killed him.

[NYPOST] The maker of Eskimo Pies will change the 99-year-old brand name of the ice cream treat, the company said Friday — becoming the latest organization to overhaul the marketing of a product with a racially tinged moniker in recent weeks. The owner of the Eskimo Pie, Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, said in a statement they had been considering renaming the chocolate-covered ice cream bar and popsicle for some time. "Yeah. We been thinkin' about it. We decided to wait until there's a nationwide PC hysteria."
"We are committed to being a part of the solution on racial equality, and recognize the term is derogatory," the company’s head of marketing said in a statement. "We've decided to call them Esquimeau tarts. Much more dignified, don'tcha think?"
"This move is part of a larger review to ensure our company and brands reflect our people values," the company added. "People values come before loyal customers."
Along with the name change, the company will alter the treat’s marketing scheme, which traditionally featured a young boy dressed as an Eskimo in a snowy environment. "We just gonna dress him as an Injun."
The move comes after brands such as Aunt Jemima’s syrup and Uncle Ben’s rice have said they will would overhaul their controversial imaging amid online criticism. Right. It's not like you're turning success into failure, not like you're tossing iconic brands into the trash. We can go with the house brand. Or with Klondike bars.

I can see why they want to change the name. The word 'Pi' has to be triggering to anyone (Afro-Americans, and Vagino-Americans especially) who flunked high-school trigonometry.

By this time next year I expect Minute Rice to be under attack by those unable to tell time. I've watched videos by African American commentators on YouTube saying if Aunt Jimima isn't on the product anymore they won't buy it. Besides, all that fake "maple" syrup tastes like crap. Dont skimp. By the good stuff.
It's hard to worry about what they call ground beef and ketchup on day old spaghetti.

Excerpt from NPR article (and they still say it's bad for other made-up "reasons"):
According to the Alaska Native Language Center at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, linguists believe the word Eskimo actually came from the French word esquimaux, meaning one who nets snowshoes. Netting snowshoes is the highly-precise way that Arctic peoples built winter footwear by tightly weaving, or netting, sinew from caribou or other animals across a wooden frame.

[DAILYWIRE] Fox News host Tucker Carlson reported on Thursday evening that the stepmother of Atlanta police officer Garrett Rolfe, the officer who allegedly shot and killed Rayshard Brooks, has been fired from her job at a mortgage company in the area.
"Until today, his stepmother, her name is Melissa Rolfe, was the HR director at a place called Equity Prime Mortgage in Atlanta, Georgia," Carlson said. "But today, she was let go. She’s no longer in that role, apparently she was fired and her only crime was being officer Rolfe’s stepmother."
"According to a source familiar with the matter who spoke to this program, Rolfe was promised that her job was safe, but today she was told, ’We have to terminate our relationship with you,'" Carlson continued. "No other explanation was offered and honestly no other explanation was needed. It was obvious what happened."
"Rolfe has already been scrubbed from the company’s website, wiped away as the Bolshevik’s did with those who lost favor with Joseph Stalin," Carlson added. "That will keep happening until politicians decided to resist the mob and protect ordinary people from its predations. This is where the country is going, it’s becoming a place where you can be punished for the supposed misdeeds of your relatives. You don’t want to be that country. All of us should put on the breaks immediately."
Later in the program, Carlson said that the company reached out and claimed that Rolfe was fired for social media posts, but did not elaborate on what the posts were or what they said.

At a time when home sales and the mortgage industry in the area are beginning to crawl out of the CV-19 scare. I'm with g(r)om on this one. I recommend she hires attorney Sidney Powell to represent her.
Yet additional evidence (as if any were needed) that banks and lending institutions are not our friends.

We recently had a soccer player from LA Galaxy not only be forced to apologize in show-trial fashion for a Tweet his wife made, but he was also released from the squad. I, too, hope she pursues this travesty in the legal system. No telling how many more cases similar to this one are out there.
