-Short Attention Span Theater-
Maxine Waters plays to empty seats as only 10 millennials show up to campaign event
Maxine Waters likes to say millennials love her, but if her own campaign event is any indication, that might be more rhetoric than reality.

79-year-old "Auntie Maxine" held a Meet & Greet Tweet-A-Thon on Sunday for two hours, and while it’s hard to know what she hoped the outcome would be, but the turnout seemed to be underwhelming.
What millennial in their right mind would want to see this racist, senile old windbag?

"Come join top social media influencers for a tweet-a-thon in support of Auntie Maxine, our fearless champion in Congress who taught us how to reclaim our time!" the flyer read.

"Millennials come energized & ready to get out the vote!" her campaign urged.

But a video posted of the event by Waters’ campaign shows only a handful of millennials actually attended.

Waters used the event to allow attendees to gripe about what they think is wrong with America.

"When you come here you always have an open mic, you can say whatever you want to say," Waters said.

Moments later, Waters took the microphone back to address the small group.

The camera showed empty tables, likely intended to be filled with fans of the liberal darling.

"We're going to take back the House," she predicted to the group.

She said pro-Trump forces "think they're going to take me out."

She predicted, "I ain't goin'."

Waters spent quite a bit of time attacking her main rival, Republican Omar Navarro.

After criticizing Navarro for having Roger Stone, Joe Arpaio, and Michael Flynn appear on his behalf, Waters argued her opponent should have certain beliefs merely because of his last name.

"He has a last name that is Latin. He's Cuban and what a lot of our people don't understand is he supports the president building a wall. He's opposed to DACA, he does not support DACA, and in addition to that, he is not worried at all, has not said a word about what is happening at the border," Water said.
Geeez... racist much? Just because someone is of a certain background they all have to think the same? You just showed the plantation mentality you demoncrats have.

-Land of the Free
Boulder Just Banned Ownership of AR-15 Rifles (and other guns)
Well, this is no shocker. Bolstered by the Supreme Court’s inaction on answering the question concerning the constitutionality of assault weapons bans, slices of Blue America have taken it to its limits‐and by limits I mean passing ordinances that are totally unconstitutional. In Deerfield, Illinois, the village has banned the ownership of AR-15 rifles and other firearms liberals find scary. Yet, it goes beyond that, because the definition of an assault weapon (yes, I know not a real term) is so broad. Essentially any firearm that uses a detachable magazine that holds more than ten rounds is a so-called assault weapon in this Chicago suburb. So, we’re not just talking about rifles, handguns are included as well‐and this is a gun ban law. These weapons must be transferred out of the village, destroyed, or turned over to the police. Non-compliance is a $250-$1,000/day fine. It’s unlawful to be a gun owner in Deerfield. Yes, that’s unconstitutional, but they’re not alone. Boulder passed a similar law last month (via CBS News):

...the city of Boulder, Colorado, is following suit. On Tuesday [May 15], Boulder's City Council unanimously passed a ban on the sale and possession of assault weapons, high-capacity magazines and bump-stock devices -- even while attorneys from a pro-gun rights group threatened legal action.

In accordance with the new ordinance, owners of high-capacity magazines and bump stocks will have until July 15 to dispose of the firearm accessories or sell them. After that point, they will not be permitted in the city of Boulder.

The council did, however, extend an olive branch to gun owners in the form of a grandfather clause: residents already in possession of assault weapons will have until the end of the year to receive a certificate proving prior ownership. At that point, all firearm owners who have proven that they owned their assault weapons prior to the passage of the new ban will be permitted to keep them. Only the purchase of new assault weapons is prohibited for Boulder residents who are not members of law enforcement, government officers or military personnel.

[...]

"My hope is that we will see more bans at the state level and one day at the federal level so these weapons will no longer be available," Boulder Councilman Aaron Brockett reportedly stated at the vote.

As of now, only the police have the right to issue that grandfather clause certificate to current AR-15 owners. And by high capacity, we mean ten-rounds or more. So, on paper, handguns that hold more than ten, which is not uncommon, are included in this ban. Again, a gross unconstitutional overreach against law-abiding citizens. This is why the Supreme Court needs to step in; it goes beyond simple AR-15s. A host of handguns are now being targeted. Gun owners in these areas have one option: move. And that's not available to everyone. Carving out areas of America that are hostile or flat out ban gun ownership is as illegal as you can get‐and shows the face of the so-called gun control movement. It's not about safety, or common sense reform, or the sanctity of life, which is rich coming from people who are probably 100 percent pro-abortion. It's about the repeal of the Second Amendment, gun confiscation, and gun bans. This is why every year the Second Amendment movement has to act as if gun rights are one election away from being stripped. If we sleep, these snakes slither in, trying to poison American civil rights.

#6  The key word is "ownership". Let's suppose that any of these are registered to people who live elsewhere and the firearm just happens to spend extended time in the communities in question. I know its not the ideal but just sayin'.

Porn Lawyer Avenatti Begs For More Money After Raising Half A Million
[DailyCaller] Michael Avenatti is in desperate need of cash, or so he says. The lawyer representing porn star Stormy Daniels in her lawsuit to be released from her non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, is asking the public to donate more money to help aid in the case to cover expenses and "security costs" for him and Daniels.

"We are short of our goal and need some help," Avenatti tweeted, even though the pair have already raised more than $550,000 toward their goal of $850,000.

This promises to be a very busy week but our effort does not run itself. There are numerous expenses associated with cases like this and here, security costs alone are astronomical. We are short of our goal and need some help. Please go to https://t.co/lEHuXf9Ydk#Basta

‐ Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) June 4, 2018

According to the post on "Crowd Justice," the site the pair are using to raise the funds, Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, said, "I am attempting to speak honestly and openly to the American people about my relationship with now President Donald Trump, as well as the intimidation and tactics that he, together with his attorney Michael Cohen, have used to silence me."

As for why they need the money, the fundraising post says, "I need funds to pay for: attorneys’ fees; out-of-pocket costs associated with the lawsuit, arbitration, and my right to speak openly; security expenses; and damages that may be awarded against me if I speak out and ultimately lose to Mr. Trump and Mr. Cohen."

Two months ago, Daniels did a long interview with 60 Minutes in which she spoke openly about her allegations against the president. Avenatti has made more than 100 appearances on CNN and MSNBC in the past two months in which he, too, spoke openly of the allegations. No suit has been filed for violating the NDA.

Daniels is also selling #TeamStormy merchandise on her website, including t-shirts and a wristband reading, "Fighting bullies is kind of my thing."

Parkland Activists Announce 20-State Tour: 'If You Don't Support This ... It'll Look Like You're Going Against Kids'
Everything they do is seedy politics.
[DailyWire] On Monday, students from the pro-gun control March for Our Lives protest are expected to announce plans to go on a 20-state summer bus tour. Vocal Parkland High School survivors and anti-gun activists, such as group leaders David Hogg and Emma González, will be headlining the 75-stop tour.

The bus tour, called "March for Our Lives: Road to Change," will include meetings with victims and survivors of shootings and focus on the promotion of more gun control legislation and registering fellow youths to vote, reports Axios.

Hogg, 18, promoted the bus tour during an interview with the outlet on Saturday. "I’m glad I’m getting my diploma and not my death certificate," he said. The recent Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School grad will take a year off before entering college.

Fellow prominent Parkland anti-gun activist Emma González will also be a key bus tour leader. "If you don't support this ... it'll look like you're going against kids," said González, unintentionally giving away the Left's motive for their shameless exploitation of the teens. The 18-year-old is off to New College of Florida in Sarasota next semester

The tour is set to launch on Friday, June 15 in Chicago, at a Peace March led by St. Sabina Academy students, reports Axios. The students will then make 50 more stops across the country, including to Texas and South Carolina, and a have a "simultaneous" Florida tour that will make over 25 stops within the state, "visiting every congressional district."

In a news release from March for Our Lives, the organization said students are calling for "universal, comprehensive background checks; creating a searchable database for gun owners; funding the Centers for Disease Control to research gun violence;" and "banning high-capacity magazines and semi-automatic assault rifles."

The crux of many of our problems today.
Posted by: JohnQC || 06/05/2018 7:47 Comments || Top||

#6  #3 the reduction in age was done during the Vietnam War era. The rationale was if they were old enough to die they should have a vote in the matter. However, instead of extending the franchise to those who served or were serving, thus subject to a separate set of laws and unable to quit because of that service, they extended it to all. That was the flaw as it ignore the fundamental rationale or intentionally ignored to dilute the voting base.

#10  How can you say you're fighting for democracy when you won't let the young men whose asses are being put on the line vote?

If you don't like David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez I have another solution: Do away with the traditional high school format that has been proven so horribly wasteful and ineffective. Replace it with vocational schools for the kids who are not going to college. For the kids who are going to college, let them go because the first two years of college are nothing but a rehash of high school anyway. If young people have jobs, real responsibilities and a stake in this country they may be less inclined to run around the country running their mouths the way Hogg and Gonzalez do.

#12  Like the one military fellow said last week, that school shootings seemed to really start up with the millennial.

At the same time the left took over the school systems lock-stock-and-barrel.

And we started over medicating kids who couldn't sit still.

I should think we should be looking at a few of these issues rather than rewriting a constitution that did very well for over 200 years.

#13  The 18-year-old (Emma Gonzalez) is off to New College of Florida in Sarasota next semester

From NCOF's mission statement:

"Faculty guide students through an academic program that is uniquely suited for, and designed by, each individual student. Flexible course requirements allow students to mold their program of study and, with faculty input, students can even create a major of their own. Students’ progress is measured by narrative evaluations instead of grades, they engage in Independent Study Projects each January, and they have the opportunity to design educational projects of specific interest to them."

My takeaway:

*You essentially make up your own classes and majors
*There are no grades, just 'narrative evaluations'

All for just - hmm. They don't tell you how much it costs.

I think Miss Gonzalez and NCOF are made for each other: a couple of pretentious frauds.
