Taliban reacts at joint Fatwa issued by Afghan religious scholars
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Talibs group reacted at the joint statement released by the Afghan religious scholars (Ulemas) during a large gathering attended by hundreds of religious scholars in Kabul on Monday.

The Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
group front man Zabiullah Mujahid ina statement said the Fatwa has been issued based on the recommendations of the foreigners to increase pressures on the group.

Mujahid offered the recent remarks of General John Nicholson as a justification to reject the Ulemas Fatwa where the NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
commander had said that pressures will be increased on Taliban group through every means.

He said the NATO commander is attempting to increase military, political, social and religious pressures on the group.

According to Mujahid, the foreign forces are attempting to convene religious gatherings and issue Fatwas in a bid to challenge the religious justification of the war waged by Taliban.

This comes as hundreds of Afghan religious scholars gathered in Kabul on Monday and issued a Fatwa, calling the ongoing war and violence as illegitimate.

The religious scholars also called on Taliban group to accept the peace offer of the Afghan government and participate in peace talks in a bid to end the ongoing violence.

Arab report: Mossad killed Iranian military advisors in Libya
I don’t know how to judge the probability that this is true, dear Reader, but it is certainly interesting that Al Arabiya thinks so.
[Ynet] Al Arabiya network says Israel's intelligence and special operations agency is responsible for liquidation of two Revolutionary Guards members who arrived in Libya from Tunisia; Iran is trying to promote its interest of obtaining uranium by sending military advisors to chaotic Libya and distancing its conflict with Israel from its border.

Israel's intelligence agency, the Mossad, was responsible for the liquidation of two Revolutionary Guards members in Libya, the Saudi al-Arabiya news network reported Monday.

Mossad agents allegedly followed the two men when they were still in Tunisia, and killed them after they crossed the border to Libya.

Iran's regime is one of the main players attempting to take advantage of the chaos created in Libya after the demise of its ruler Muammar Qadaffy
...a proud Arab institution for 42 years, now among the dear departed, though not the dearest...
in 2011.

According to Al Arabiya, Iran has been trying to infiltrate Libya through several means, including sending military advisors to the country.

As part of its mission to obtain uranium from Libya's mines, Iran is attempting to influence local militias by supporting them in exchange for uranium.

The two Iranian advisors were supposed to coordinate between Iran's regime and the Libyan militias.

The Iranian advisors met with Libyan officials in Libya and Malta to see how Iran could assist Libya and promote its own interests at the same time.

One of Iran's goals is to distance its conflict with Israel away from its border.

, on the latest developments in Libya and means of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.

This came during a meeting held on Monday at the Amiri Palace in Jeddah, attended by Foreign Ministers of both countries and a number of officials.

They two sides agreed to work through joint committees to activate bilateral cooperation in various fields like security, economic and development.

The Saudi Crown Prince said that his country stands with the efforts to support stability in Libya and is ready to play a role to support a Libyan national project representing Libyans and fulfilling their wishes.

He stressed that the stability of Libya will have a positive effect on neighboring countries and the whole region.

For his part, Sarraj reviewed developments in the political situation in Libya since the signing of the Skhirat agreement to the Gay Paree meeting, including the agreement to hold parliamentary and presidential elections this year.

He said that he seeks to establish a democratic civilian state, pointing out that this option needs regional and international support and aid to block obstructions, adding that he welcomed the support of Saudi Arabia and their initiatives in this direction.

, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt launched the blockade on June 5 last year to pressure Qatar to change its policies. The group, angered by Doha's support for opposition groups and its ties with Iran, accused the Gulf state of working to destabilize the region and of harbouring and supporting terrorists. They made sweeping demands that Qatar change course, shutter its flagship Al Jazeera Arabic news channel and kick out Ottoman Turkish troops from a base there.

Qatar has rejected the accusations and the demands, calling the blockade a politically motivated attempt to undermine its illusory sovereignty.

When the diplomatic standoff erupted, worried residents rushed to grocery stores in the capital, Doha, emptying out shelves of milk and other food items that had come from Saudi Arabia and the UAE. At the onset of the diplomatic rift, about one-sixth of Qatar's imports were produced in countries that imposed the trade sanctions, according to the International Monetary Fund.

Saudi Arabia sealed shut Qatar's only land border and the UAE blocked shipments from its ports to Qatar, but the government in Doha quickly moved to reroute supplies through ports in Oman and India. Rather than rely on imports from its Arab neighbors, Qatar looked to Iran and Turkey to plug the gaps. Qatari flights were rerouted over Iranian airspace. Turkey boosted its military presence in Qatar.

Within a day, shelves were restocked. Qatar also air-lifted thousands of cows into the country to ramp up local production of milk and dairy.

The government's quick response was hailed by citizens and some of the country's nearly 2 million foreign residents.

"There's really no shortage in daily life at all," said Gerd Nonneman, a resident of Qatar and professor of International Relations and Gulf Studies at the Qatar branch of Georgetown University.

Bahraini court upholds 5-year prison term for opposition figure Nabeel Rajab
[PRESSTV] The Bahraini Court of Appeal has upheld the five-year prison term against the Persian Gulf island country’s prominent opposition figure and pro-democracy campaigner Nabeel Rajab over his tweets deemed critical of the Manama regime and the deadly Saudi-led war against Yemen.

The court ruling was issued on Tuesday, prompting the Bahrain Center for Human Rights calling it only an attempt to silence Rajab and stop his human rights

activities and a retaliatory move against his influence in raising awareness about the human rights violations taking place in under the Al Khalifah regime.

Meanwhile,

the Amnesty international condemned the court ruling in a statement, saying, "It is absolutely outrageous that he has to spend another single day behind bars solely for expressing his opinion online."

The Supreme Criminal Court sentenced the 53-year-old top opposition figure to five years in prison on 21 February. Bahrain’s Court of Cassation, which has the ultimate say in the case of appeals in the country, had also upheld a two-year jail sentence against Rajab on January 15.

He faces a further 15 years in prison over a separate set of charges related to his criticism of the ruling Al Khalifah family and Wahhabism.

On December 22, 2016, Bahraini authorities accused Rajab of making comments that "harm the interests" of the Manama regime and other Persian Gulf kingdoms through an article attributed to him and published by French daily Le Monde.

The article slammed the ISIS Takfiri

"Apart from the avoidable humanitarian consequences of such a battle, I am also very concerned about the impact (on) chances of a political settlement of this conflict," said Martin Griffiths on Tuesday.

Griffiths, who was wrapping up a three-day visit to Yemen, added that talks had been positive, but further stressed that the military action on Hudaydah would have a negative impact on its civilian population.

"We are working very hard, focusing every day on moving forward in the political process. My aim is to restart negotiations which have not taken place for a very long time ‐ for too long ‐ and I want that to restart in the very near future," he added.

Griffiths is scheduled to give a report to the UN Security Council on June 18.

PA warned Paris that Gaza border clashes financed by Iran — report
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian ambassador to La Belle France reportedly said a month ago that Tehran 'is fully financing and pushing the Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", demonstrations'

The Paleostinian Authority informed the French government last month that Iran was financing and encouraging the weeks of violent protests along the Gazoo border, Channel 10 reported Tuesday.

"Iran is fully financing and pushing the Hamas demonstrations," Salman al-Harfi, the Paleostinian ambassador to La Belle France, reportedly told a government official. "The PA has no choice but to support the demonstrations because so may of the participants are demonstrating against the economic situation."

While the Ramallah-based PA does not support the Hamas-led protests, the Paleostinian ambassador said it "does condemn Israel’s response, because most of the protesters are non-violent."

Last week Iran agreed in principle to renew its funding for the Hamas terror group, according to a report published in a London-based Arabic daily.

The move reportedly sparked anger in Iran, which is experiencing an economic crisis and in recent days Iranian protesters have been throwing away charity boxes for the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation after a film showed it gave millions of dollars to Paleostinians rather than direct the money to needy Iranians.

Despite reportedly being informed that Iran was funding the demonstrations, on Friday La Belle France was one of ten countries backing an Arab-backed UN Security Council draft resolution calling for protective measures for the Paleostinians, which was vetoed by the United States.

The Kuwait-drafted text had called for "measures to guarantee the safety and protection" of Paleostinian civilians in Gazoo and the occupied West Bank, and requested a UN report to propose an "international protection mechanism."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday met La Belle France’s President Emmanuel Macron as part of his European tour, amid deep differences over how to contain Iran’s ambitions in the Middle East.

Netanyahu held talks with Macron in Gay Paree following his visit to Berlin, focusing on the international nuclear deal with Iran as well as how to push Iranian forces out of Syria.

Iran could unleash new refugee wave, Israel’s Netanyahu tells Berlin
[AlAhram] Iran's activities across the Middle East threaten to drive another wave of refugees to Europe, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said after talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel
...chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom. Now they make faces at her for inundating the country with Moslems ..
on Monday.

Netanyahu, on a tour to persuade European countries to follow the U.S. administration of Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
in tearing up a nuclear non-proliferation deal with Iran, said the country was using proceeds from eased sanctions to finance conflict.

Iran wanted to expand and deploy Shia militias it commanded to convert Moslems from the Sunni branch of Islam, he said at a joint news conference with Merkel.

"This will inflame a religious war, and the consequences will be many more refugees and you know exactly where they'll come," he added.

In 2015 Germany and other European countries saw an influx of more than a million migrants colonists, fuelling the rise of far-right parties.

Many were refugees from civil war in Syria, where Iran is a crucial military ally of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Lord of the Baath...
against rebels who are mainly Sunni.

Merkel said she agreed that Iran's activities in the Middle East were a concern, particularly for Israel's security. But she said talks and the nuclear agreement torn up by the United States offered ways of thwarting Iran's nuclear and regional ambitions.

"We support Israel's right to security and have said this to Iran at all times," she said. "We have the same goal that Iran must never get a nuclear weapon and the difference between us is how to do that."

France: Protesters condemn bilateral season on Netanyahu's visit to Paris
[PRESSTV] Protesters marched on Gay Paree' Champs-Elysees on Tuesday to denounce Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to the French capital and to demand boycotting the La Belle France-Israel cultural season.

Activists called for Netanyahu to be tried as a "war criminal" and also accused French President Emmanuel Macron of being complicit in Netanyahu's "crimes against Paleostinians."

"We do not find it normal in La Belle France to welcome a war criminal like that, to pay tribute to a colonialist country, a country that massacres the Paleostinian people," said Abeer, an activist.

Netanyahu's is visiting La Belle France to rally for La Belle France's withdrawal from Iran's nuclear as well as inaugurate the 2018 La Belle France-Israel Season, a project set to take place simultaneously in both countries between June to November.

Erdogan says 200,000 Syrians returned to Turkish-controlled areas
[AlAhram] President Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that 200,000 Syrians had returned to northern Syrian regions controlled by Turkish forces, after criticism from election rivals over the millions of refugees in Turkey.

More than 3.5 million Syrian refugees who fled conflict in their country are living in Turkey, and some Turks see their presence as an economic burden and a threat to jobs.

Their presence has become an issue in Turkey's June 24 presidential and parliamentary elections, with Erdogan's rivals saying they would take steps to ensure the Syrians could return to their country.

Erdogan said many refugees had already returned to the northern Syrian regions of Afrin and Jarablus, where Turkey has launched military incursions to drive back Kurdish or Islamic State (IS) militants.

"As of now, around 200,000 residents from those areas returned back from Turkey," Erdogan told an election rally in Turkey's northwestern Black Sea province of Zonguldak. "And they continue to return. Why? Because it is their own land, we open the path, they return."

Erdogan opened Turkey's borders to Syrian migrants when conflict erupted in 2011. But Ankara has since reversed its "open door" policy, building a wall along the 911 km (570 mile) frontier.

#1  Speaking as your Military Advisor, I recommend the Super Tucano over the F-35. Lower unit cost, easier maintenance (inshallah!) and better suited for putting down the local population of Gulenists.

As long as it is not the "C" model, that one seems to actually fly well. (Possibly due to the larger wings)

#7  ...Here's what I can't figure out, and bear with me.

Every time an F-35 gets fired up, or has any but the most minor maintenance done, it sets up a WiFi connection with HAL9000 - I mean, Lockheed Martin. It's automatic. That way, LockMart can download any system upgrades/changes/corrections, the same way Microsoft does with your computer every day. And we already know that if the little monster can't call home...it won't even start:

"The F-35 has a logistics system (ALIS) that requires an internet connection to a centralized maintenance system in the United States. ALIS is kept permanently informed of each aircraft's technical status and maintenance requirements. ALIS can, and has, prevented aircraft taking off because of an incomplete data file. If the internet link is down, the aircraft can't fly even if there is nothing wrong with it. This is one of the more bizarre problems. It could lead to a situation in which enemy aircraft are inbound and the F-35s are refueled and ready to go but can't take off to meet the threat."

American Thinker: 5 reasons F35s are too dangerous to fly

And we also know that the Lightning is keeping us informed on what our allies are doing with it:

‘Spy’ F-35s send sensitive Norwegian military data back to Lockheed Martin in the United States

...So given that we have the ability to brick the damned airplane with a tap of a keypad, what makes the Turks think we won't do it to them? I mean, we will know if they open a single hatch they're not supposed to - we're definitely going to throw the kill switch if we have to.

Obama-era license aimed to let Iran convert money in dollars
Courtesy of the Muslim in Chief. Interesting that Iran still wanted dollars. I wonder what that means.
[AyPee] The Obama administration secretly sought to give Iran access ‐ albeit briefly ‐ to the U.S. financial system by sidestepping sanctions kept in place after the 2015 nuclear deal, despite repeatedly telling Congress and the public it had no plans to do so.
I think this man would have given his daughters to the mullahs if that's what it would have taken to seal the deal. Or maybe he was just pretending to go after Iran when he really wanted to create cover for them while they go about their work.
An investigation by Senate Republicans released Wednesday sheds light on the delicate balance the Obama administration sought to strike after the deal, as it worked to ensure Iran received its promised benefits without playing into the hands of the deal’s opponents. Amid a tense political climate, Iran hawks in the U.S., Israel and elsewhere argued that the United States was giving far too much to Tehran and that the windfall would be used to fund extremism and other troubling Iranian activity.
Now we know who turned out to be right.

members to Baghdad to carry out death sentences issued against them, a police source said on Tuesday.

Speaking to Alghad Press, the source from Nineveh police said, "150 Islamic State members, who have death sentences issued against them, were transferred with security troops from Nineveh to Baghdad."

The turbans, according to the source, "admitted to intimidating the citizens, joining Islamic State, killing and looting over the past few years."

"Transferring the members will be followed by implementing the sentences," he said adding that "all the faceless myrmidons are Iraqis."

Many IS members were detained during liberation battles that freed cities, which were recaptured by the turban group in 2014.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
US warns allies against financial dealings with Iran
[AlAhram] The United States warned governments and the private sector on Tuesday to crack down on what it described as Iranian efforts to exploit them to fund its support for terrorism, destabilizing actions in the region and rights abuses at home.

The appeal, in a speech by the senior U.S. Treasury official for terrorism and financial intelligence, follows U.S. President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's May 8 decision to abandon the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and to reimpose U.S. sanctions on the Islamic Theocratic Republic.

"You must harden your financial networks, require your companies to do extra due diligence to keep them from being caught in Iran’s deceptive web, and make clear the very significant risks of doing business with companies and persons there," Under Secretary of the Treasury Sigal Mandelker said.

"Companies doing business in Iran face substantial risks, and those risks are even greater as we reimpose nuclear-related sanctions," she added. "We will hold those doing prohibited business in Iran to account."

The U.S. decision to leave the pact, under which Iran agreed to limit its nuclear program in return for relief from economic sanctions, has antagonized its other parties: Britannia, China, La Belle France, Germany and Russia.

With U.S. sanctions returning between now and Nov. 4, it is not clear how enthusiastic U.S. allies or other nations such as China may be to comply with those sanctions, particularly those requiring foreign firms to reduce their imports of Iranian oil.

The weight of the U.S. financial system and the reality of companies having to choose between selling to Iran or to the vast U.S. market, is likely to force many private firms to comply.

"To those in the private sector, I urge you to also take additional steps to ensure Iran and its proxies are not exploiting your companies to support their nefarious activities," Mandelker said. "You have to do more to make sure your compliance programs are airtight."

"The Iranian regime will deceive your companies, undermine the integrity of your financial systems, put your institutions at risk of our powerful sanctions, all to fund terrorism, human rights

abuses and terrorist groups," Mandelker added.

She repeated U.S. threats to increase financial pressure unless Iran ceases actions such as supporting proxy forces hostile to the United States in Syria, Iraq, Leb and Yemen.

"Our powerful economic authorities will give the regime a clear choice: Change its unacceptable support for terrorism, destabilizing activities and human rights abuses, or face economic calamity," Mandelker said.

Spain’s Repsol braves US ire with first Pars oil cargo
[PRESSTV] Iran’s oil exports hit a new record in May which also saw the country sell its first cargo from West Karoun to Spain’s Repsol, the Ministry of Petroleum’s Shana news outlet reported.

National Iranian Oil Co (NIOC) exported 2.4 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil on top of 300,000 bpd of condensate, an ultra light grade of oil extracted from the giant South Pars gas field, it said.

The rise highlights Iran’s resolve to fight US sanctions which are due to snap-back into place after President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
’s withdrawal from the international nuclear deal with Tehran.

The first sale of West Karoun oil also indicates Tehran’s decision to boost oil exports and uphold trade with the Europeans in the face of hostile US measures.

Repsol has ordered 500,000 bpd of spot cargoes of West Karoun crude which Iran is marketing as Pars oil, Rooters reported.

Kurdish militants to withdraw advisors from Syria’s Manbij
[PRESSTV] The Syrian People’s Protection Units (YPG) has announced that it will take its advisors out of Syria’s northern city of Manbij a day after the US and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
agreed on a roadmap for withdrawal of the Kurdish hard boy group from the region.

In a statement on Tuesday, the YPG said its fighting forces had withdrawn from Manbij last November, but the group’s military advisors remained in the area to assist the Manbij Military Council.

Following a meeting between Ottoman Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington on Monday, the two sides agreed on a plan for the withdrawal of the YPG from Manbij in an attempt to put an end to a months-long dispute between the two NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and structure....
allies.

Turkey and the US also agreed to implement the roadmap to other regions in Syria.
Al Ahram adds:
Ottoman Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Tuesday YPG personnel withdrawing from Manbij would be disarmed and sent east of the Euphrates River.

Speaking in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire....
's southern province of Antalya on Tuesday, Cavusoglu said that joint preparatory work on the roadmap would begin in 10 days and implementation would be carried out within six months.

He said that in future the model should also be applied to Syria's Raqqa, Kobani and other areas controlled by the YPG.

"The YPG is a terrorist organization and cannot have any role in any city. We cannot hand over a region or city to a terrorist organization," Cavusoglu said.

He said he recognised that Kurds who are not part of the YPG could remain in these areas and said he aims to return the "population structure" of Manbij to what it was "before the YPG's arrival".

EU confirms Iran enrichment plan not in nuclear deal violation
[PRESSTV] The European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
says a "first assessment" indicated that Iran's declared intention to increase uranium enrichment capacity did not violate Tehran's commitments under a landmark nuclear agreement it signed with major world powers in 2015.

A spokeswoman for the European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said on Tuesday that Iran's decision did not constitute a breach of the nuclear agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

"Following a first assessment, the announced steps per se are not a violation of the JCPOA," Maja Kocijancic told AFP.

"However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
at this particularly critical juncture, they will not contribute to build confidence in the nature of the Iranian nuclear program," she claimed.

The European Union is working to save the agreement after US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
's move to withdraw from it. Since the US president pulled Washington out of the historic nuclear deal, European countries have been scrambling to ensure that Iran gets enough economic benefits to persuade it to stay in the deal. The remaining parties have vowed to stay in the accord.
