The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said the Afghan forces killed at least 32 Talibs by laying ambushes and directly engaging the Talibs in Balkh, Faryab and Samagan provinces.
The statement further added that the security forces also maimed at least 36 Talibs during the same festivities.

[ToloNews] At least five people were killed and eleven others were maimed on Tuesday morning in a blast in Surobi district of Kabul province, local officials told TOLOnews.
The incident happened on Tuesday morning when a vehicle struck a roadside mine in Jegdalak village.
Women and children are among the victims, officials added.
So far no group has grabbed credit for the attack.
[ToloNews] Residents in Afghanistan’s Samangan province on Tuesday called for a probe into attack on the Afghan intelligence agency---the National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... (NDS)--facility, and called for the arrest of the perpetrators who collaborated with the suicide kaboomers in launching the deadly attack in the province.
This comes hours after a suicide boom-mobile explosion and ensuing shootout, claimed by the Taliban ...Arabic for students... , occurred on Monday morning in front of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) compound in Aybak city, the center of the northern Afghan province of Samangan, and ended with three attackers and at least 11 other people killed.
Residents said that it is questionable how the bully boyz managed to pass through several checkpoints to reach their target.
63 people, including 16 NDS employees, were maimed in the attack.
According to officials, three attackers were involved in the attack that was claimed by the Taliban shortly after the initial blast.
"The people are very concerned, security should have been in place there, but they didn’t manage to control the situation," said Mohammad Bek, a resident in Samangan province.
"The people are frightened, many people were maimed, many of them are civilians, they also destroyed hotels and shops, the people have suffered a major loss," said Barat, a resident in Samangan.
"The Taliban had said that they will commit to peace and will avoid war, but again they staged such a major attack," said Nematullah, a resident.
According to the local officials, the attack has inflicted over 25 million afs financial loss for the NDS facility.
"We have suffered a 25 million afs loss, two trucks were destroyed including three new vehicles, there are cracks on the building," said Ferozuddin Tigeen, the mayor of Aybak.
"We have two check points in Feroznakhjir and Akhkam areas, negligence was the cause there, because of that, these vehicles managed to enter the city and carry out the attack," said Sifatullah Samangani, the deputy governor of Samangan.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The eastern-based Libyan parliament, which supports the Libyan National Army (LNA), has given go-ahead to the Egyptian armed forces to intervene in the Libyan conflict. In early June, Egypt put forward the Cairo peace initiative, outlining a path for a political settlement in Libya and calling for warring parties to cease fire since 8 June. The proposal was welcomed by the Arab League ...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing... , Russia, Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... and the United Arab Emirates, but was rejected by the Government of National Accord (GNA) and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... "We call for joint efforts between the two brotherly nations — Libya and Egypt — in order to defeat the occupier and maintain our common security and stability in our country and region," the statement read.
It added that the parliament "welcomes the words of the Egyptian President, spoken in the presence of representatives of Libyan tribes."
"The Egyptian armed forces have the right to intervene to protect Libyan and Egyptian national security if they see an imminent threat to the security of our two countries," the statement added.
Last week Egyptian armed forces conducted an exercise near Libya’s border. The drills, codenamed Resolve 2020, took place in the northwestern district of Qabr Gabis, some 37 miles (60 kilometres) away from the Libyan border.
Libya has been suffering from internal conflict since its long-time leader Muammar Qadaffy ...a proud Arab institution for 42 years, now among the dear departed, though not the dearest... was tossed and killed in 2011. At the moment, the east of the country is ruled by the parliament, while the west is controlled by the Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... -based Government of GNA, which was formed with the help of the United Nations ...boodling on the grand scale... and the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... . The authorities in the east cooperate with the LNA, which has been attempting to take control of Tripoli.

[Al Ahram] Egypt’s top appeals court upheld on Tuesday life sentences against the leader of the now-banned Moslem Brüderbund group Mohammed Badie and others over violence in Upper Egypt’s Minya that followed the ouster of late Islamist President Mohammed Morsi in 2013.
The Court of Cassation rejected appeals filed by186 defendants, including Badie, against their prison terms, and acquitted 63 others, a judicial source said, without specifying how many received final life sentences.
In September 2018, a Minya criminal court sentenced Badie and 87 others to life imprisonment over festivities in the southern governorate.
The court also handed over 200 other defendants jail terms ranging from two to 15 years and acquitted 463 others in the same case.
The mass trial dates back to violence in August 2013 that followed the dispersal of a sit-in by supporters of ousted president Morsi, which left hundreds of Brotherhood members and dozens of police dead.
The defendants were convicted of charges including assaulting a cop shoppe in Minya, killing several coppers and the attempted murder of others.
The verdicts are final and cannot be appealed.
Tuesday's sentences are the latest in a series of trials and re-trials against Badie, the Brotherhood’s Supreme Guide, and other big shots of the Islamist group that ruled Egypt before Islamist president Mohammed Morsi was ousted following massive protests.
It is the fifth final life sentence handed to Badie, totaling 125 years.
It comes days after the same court upheld life sentences for Badie, his deputy Khairat El-Shater and four others over violence in front of the group’s main headquarters in Cairo ahead of Morsi's ouster.
That verdict was the first final ruling against El-Shater, who had been handed a total of another 40 years in jail that can still be appealed.

[Al Ahram] The front man of Libya’s Government of National Accord has said its troops will move forward towards establishing control over Sirte and Jufra, which hosts Libya's largest air base.
"The time has come for oil to flow once again and to beat the hands messing with the Libyans' troops," Mohammed Kanono said on Tuesday, stressing that "we will move forward towards our kidnapped cities, to extend state authority over the entire soil."
This announcement came after a resolution was passed on Monday by the Libyan parliament in the eastern city of Tobruk which authorises an Egyptian military intervention if needed. The aim of this step is to protect Libya's "national security" amid the ongoing "Ottoman Turkish occupation," read the resolution.
On Twitter, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash warned against the "dangerous political and humanitarian implications" of the "war drums being beaten in Sirte."
Gargash called for an immediate ceasefire, "reliance on wisdom" and "involvement in a dialogue among the Libyan parties within clear international references."
Vladimir Gubarev, deputy head of the international affairs committee at the Federation Council, the upper house of Russia's Federal Assembly, said the Egyptian military's intervention in the Libyan conflict could help in "restoring the Libyan state."
"Of course there is a need for holding negotiations to settle the conflict, but if the Egyptian military helped in restoring the Libyan state, this will be a good thing," Russia Today quoted Gubarev as saying on Tuesday.
He noted that Egypt is "clearly concerned about the destabilised situation in Libya."
In June, Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi called on Libyan parties "to respect the current lines and start negotiations."
El-Sisi said that Sirte and Jufra are "considered a red line for Egyptian national security."

If you scroll far enough down on the Andy Ngo site, there's a video of a "protester" standing by a closed door with the hammer back and over his head. He swings the hammer at the officer's head as soon as the officer emerges from the building. Attempted murder of a federal officer.

Shaelyn A. Reed, a convicted child rapist, was arrested & charged w/felony assault at an #antifa brawl in Washington state. Police say he bashed a man on the head w/a baton before discarding the weapon & changing clothes.
Graphic: Over the weekend, a group of antifa & far-left protesters tried to stop a patriotic rally outside the Olympia, Wash. city hall. Three far-left militants busted a man's head open using a baton.
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] A convicted child rapist was charged with felony assault stemming from violence at an Antifa ...the armed wing of the Democratic Party... and left-wing protest in Olympia, Wash. on Sunday.Shaelyn A. Reed, 20, of Olympia, is accused of striking a man on the head with a baton in front of Olympia City Hall. Video recorded of the assault shows the victim bleeding profusely from the head. According to Olympia Police Lt. Paul Lower, Reed allegedly disposed of his weapon in a trash receptacle and changed clothes before being arrested. A juvenile was also arrested on misdemeanor assault charges and a third unnamed person is wanted by police.
This isn’t Reed’s first run-in with the law. In 2017, Reed pleaded guilty to second-degree rape of a child. He is a registered sex offender in Thurston County, Wash..
Reed is currently held at the county jail on felony assault charges. Police believe he was also part of a group of rioters who destroyed property at an Antifa and Black Lives Matter protest in Olympia on July 5.
Before the bloody violence on Sunday, a few dozen Antifa and far-left protestors countered a small conservative rally. As the two groups met, insults and curses were exchanged, with Antifa accusing the conservatives of being "fascist ...anybody you disagree with, damn them... s." Video recorded at the scene shows far-left protesters physically blocking drivers from leaving the rally and photographing the cars’ license plates.

Sooo... Apparently in Ireland Antifa tried to attack an anti-pedophilia rally, because that's apparently "fascist". It seems this is part of their movement.
As they're arrested, we should make sure the other prisoners are aware of that.

Portland Mayor tells federal authorities to clean up the graffiti left on the federal courthouse by antifa in his city. Meanwhile, Portland streets look like this: https://t.co/KeVwrugr4rpic.twitter.com/qjaRaYuWKB
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any state legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any state, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

In November Wheeler is up for re-election and is running against a woman who, as near as I can tell, is further to the left than Wheeler. So he's got to say this stuff. But I suspect he would be delighted to see a Marine rifle company, uh, deal with the "protesters." No more protests, and he could blame Trump all day long.

...SCOTUS already has set a precedent on that one. Kansas had a tax on military retirements but exempted their state employees' pension from the tax. SCOTUS said that was a no-no.

Nike HQ isn't that easy to get to. There is a pretty high berm all the way around and the only entrance has a heavy gate. I was there in 1990.

[ALMASDARNEWS] On Tuesday, the Security and Defense Committee in the Iraqi Parliament called for the need to confront Ottoman Turkish attacks on the country, condemning Ankara’s exploitation of old agreements to penetrate deep into the country. In a statement to the Iraqi News Agency, the head of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Muhammad Reza al-Haidar said, "Iraq rejects a country violating its illusory sovereignty or carrying out Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s inside its territories," calling on the government to address this crisis.
Haider said that "The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... depends on the security agreement concluded previously by entering about five kilometers to seven kilometers in the border strip," noting that "Ankara exceeded the limit and occupied about 15 km of the border strip."
He pointed out that "Iraq refuses to have an armed faction within its territories attacking a neighboring country, and it refuses to attack its illusory sovereignty from any country."
However, a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth... the Ottoman Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed that "Ankara is determined to take all necessary measures within the framework of the principle of self-defense emanating from international law, against the destructive activities coming from Iraqi lands, which threaten its borders, security and stability."
On June 17, Turkey announced the launch of Operation "Tiger Claw" in northern Iraq, two days after the launch of Operation "Eagle Claw", as Ankara says that members of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) are launching attacks on the Ottoman Turkish border from Iraq.

[ALMASDARNEWS] A group of gunman belonging to a group called "Mughawer al-Thourah", who were tossed into the calaboose near Palmyra, admitted to have received training from the U.S. forces.
It was reported earlier that three button men were arrested and transferred to the Syrian city of Palmyra, after their group fell into a minefield.
The detained Lions of Islam acknowledged that they had been sent on a mission, and had to obtain information about Russian and Iranian targets in Syria.
One of the detainees, Abdullah al-Mishwat, said in his confessions: "We were taught how to deal with all types of weapons by American trainers. All of the weapons were American-made. I saw American trainers coming for training, but the training process is carried out by Syrians. The Americans are watching from afar, and they supervise on the training process, the training was difficult, and I continued for two or three hours, not less. " Two or three hours! Talk about hell week!
The gunman held by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) admitted that the group had been trained in the use of American-made weapons, but the group’s participants were sent to carry out on the mission with Russian guns.
Mughawer al-Thourah is the last group affiliated with the Free Syrian Army ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... (FSA) to have direct U.S. backing in Syria.
They currently control a stretch of desert territory in the al-Tanf Zone that allows the U.S. to maintain a presence near the Iranian-backed forces in Palmyra.
