Nine face vote-fraud charges, bribing homeless for signatures
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Authorities in Los Angeles have indicted nine people on felony voter-fraud charges, accusing the defendants of using homeless people to forge signatures on voter-registration and petition forms.

According to NBC News, the indictment involves 14 felony counts related to electioneering in the 2016 and 2018 political cycles, though none of the nine defendants has been charged on all of them.

The charges in the indictment include, according to NBC, "circulating an initiative with forged or fictitious names, signing fictitious names, registering fictitious persons, and making payment for signatures."

The suspects are accused of bribing homeless people on Los Angeles’ Skid Row with cash or cigarettes in exchange for the signatures, transactions that were observed by beat police and then by undercover officers.

Seven suspects pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
Friday in Los Angeles; the other two persons charges have not appeared in court yet, NBC reported.

Hunter Biden Missed Father’s Campaign Launch After Breitbart News Investigation Into Crack Pipe
[BREITBART] Former Vice President Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...The former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect to be found in the World's Greatest Deliberative Body...
’s son Hunter Biden missed his father’s big campaign launch rally despite having planned to be there in Philadelphia for it because of a Breitbart News investigation published the day before on police documents that named him as a suspect in narcotics probe in Arizona, the New Yorker reports.

"On May 17th, the day before Hunter planned to appear at one of his father’s rallies, at Eakins Oval, in Philadelphia, Breitbart News published a story based on a Prescott, Arizona, police report from 2016 that named Hunter as the suspect in a possible narcotics offense," the New Yorker’s Adam Entous wrote in a deep-dive piece about the political liabilities Hunter Biden causes his father, a piece for which Hunter Biden cooperated.

Hunter Biden, according to Entous, called off going to the rally after the Breitbart News investigation and attendant allegations were published‐and the campaign left his seat at the event empty, with a sign saying it was "reserved" hanging on the chair.

"Onstage at the rally, Jill Biden introduced her husband," Entous wrote. "’The Biden family is ready,’ she said. ’We will do this as we always have‐as a family.’ Seated in white chairs to the side of the stage were Ashley Biden, Hunter’s half sister; Ashley’s husband, Howard Krein; Beau’s children, Natalie and Robert Hunter; Hunter’s three daughters, Maisy, Finnegan, and Naomi; and Naomi’s boyfriend, Peter. The last seat in the row, with a piece of paper on it that said ’Reserved,’ remained empty."

#2  Hunter was also discharged from the Navy after getting a waiver in order to get a direct commission. The reason: cocaine use.

He lasted one month after commissioning. The ironic thing is that he had to get a waiver because he was overage. Oh, yeah, and because he had a history of drug use and drug-related arrests.

After chaotic handling of Parkland, terrorist airport mass shootings, Broward County Sheriff's Office loses accreditation
A state panel has voted unanimously to revoke the law enforcement accreditation of the Broward Sheriff's Office, the largest sheriff's office in Florida.

The loss of accreditation ‐ a voluntary certification sought by law enforcement agencies ‐ won't affect BSO's operations in a major way. But it is a further blow to the agency's prestige at a time when a new command staff, including a new sheriff, are dealing with a string of failures and questionable conduct by deputies.

The Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) cited BSO's mishandling of the Parkland school shooting last year and the Muslim convert Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport shooting in 2017 as reasons for its decision in a 13-0 vote last week.

Both incidents were marked by chaotic and disorganized responses from the sheriff's office. Seventeen people died at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting on Feb. 14, 2018, including some who were waiting for rescue as BSO deputies took cover, put on body armor and struggled to find the building where the massacre had taken place. Then-Broward Sheriff Scott Israel, defended his agency but was suspended from office by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.

BSO was initially reviewed by a CFA assessment team in mid-December of 2018 and again in May 2019 after the release of a scathing state investigation into BSO's performance at Stoneman Douglas. The team found that BSO was in compliance with state standards and recommended that BSO be "favorably reviewed" by the CFA panel, according to documents reviewed by the Miami Herald.

But the commission ‐ a governing body made up of sheriffs, police chiefs and other high-ranking officials from across the state ‐ voted to set aside that recommendation. Instead, it revoked BSO's law enforcement accreditation.

#2  Big picture is, we need some genius to discover a way to counteract the "leftists capture all institutions eventually" phenomenon. If large urban areas did not automatically tilt left, the world would be a very different place.
Posted by: M. Murcek || 07/02/2019 10:10 Comments || Top||

#3  Isn't it almost inevitable that big cities/institutions will trend to tighter controls? On a farm I can burn my garbage, but waste disposal gets much more complicated in a densely populated area--and one or two uncooperative people can mess things up badly for the rest. ==> more rules, more micromanaging ==> more statist

And once you attract the folks who know better than everybody else, you find that they typically don't know when to stop managing you.

Our breed of statists are allied with some pretty weird identity politics types, but I don't know that that that was inevitable or that it will be permanent.

Raging AOC says border agents make detainees drink from TOILETS but officials DENY that as Democrat says CBP wages 'psychological warfare' on women and laughed at her during tour
The natural response:
Border patrol agents shared Photoshopped images of AOC performing oral sex on Trump and suggested father-daughter drowning photo was STAGED in secret Facebook group with thousands of members

#4  I seem to recall during the O administration that Congrresscritters were denied entry into detention facilities. The suspicion at the time was that the 'children' being held were adults but officially reported as children.

Fifth Column
Comey Hid ‘CLINTON EMAILS' Binder In His Office Safe and Had Hillary's Backup Email Device
[BigLeaguePolitics] Former FBI director James Comey had a white binder marked "Clinton Emails" in his office on May 16, 2017, a few days after he was fired, as the Department of Justice was trying to get back the items in Comey's office safe.

The State Department and FBI also possessed a "Datto" backup email device for Hillary Clinton's cash cow bribery inventory private email server, which a judge ordered released. Michael Bekesha, who waged the Datto case for Judicial Watch, tells Big League Politics that the State Department is "still processing the FBI investigative file," even though Datto contents were ordered released by last September.

Deep Stater Comey got busted by the DOJ for hiding his "Clinton Emails" binder after he got fired from the FBI, as Big League Politics exclusively reported. The FBI officially released the DOJ's "Inventory" Receipt for Property documents listing the stuff Comey had in his office safe.

#2  I suspect that 'they're' waiting for the status of limitation to expire first.

Basically they're playing a game with us rubes, with the end result being no one except for minor players will get charged.

Is there even a grand jury investigating this?

I'm not holding my breath that anything will happen.

Well, in defense of "hang them all", my 'pattern analysis' needle of these SOB's has been pegged for quite some time.

Kamala Harris campaign lawyer hired Fusion GPS for Hillary Clinton
[Washington Examiner] The former top lawyer for Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential campaign who hired Fusion GPS to carry out controversial opposition research against then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016 is now working for a top 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful.

Marc Elias, who heads Perkins Coie’s political law group, became general counsel for California Sen. Kamala Harris’ presidential bid this year. Elias, who held the same position in Clinton's campaign, is named in two pending Federal Election Commission complaints and in a recent federal lawsuit alleging that the Clinton campaign broke campaign finance laws when it used Perkins Coie to hire Fusion GPS.

Fusion GPS went on to hire British ex-spy Christopher Steele, who compiled an unverified dossier allegedly based on sources close to the Kremlin which was disseminated to the media and used by the FBI to obtain Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants targeting former Trump campaign associate Carter Page. Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz is reviewing alleged FISA abuse related to the dossier and Attorney General William Barr launched his "investigation of the investigators" earlier this year.

Clinton’s former presidential campaign manager Robby Mook said in 2017 that he authorized Elias to hire an outside firm to dig up dirt on Trump’s connections with Russia. "I asked our lawyer and I gave him a budget allocation to investigate this, particularly the international aspect," he said.
