Pres. Trump says immigrants 'unhappy' with detention centers should stay home
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump, facing renewed criticism from Democrats and activists over his handling of a migrant crisis on the U.S.- Mexico border, said in a Twitter post on Wednesday that immigrants unhappy with conditions at detention centers should be told "not to come."

Democratic lawmakers and civil rights activists who have visited migrant detention centers along the border in recent days have described nightmarish conditions marked by overcrowding and inadequate access to food, water and other basic needs.

The Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general on Tuesday published photos of migrant-holding centers in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley crammed with twice as many people as they were meant to hold.

"If Illegal Immigrants are unhappy with the conditions in the quickly built or refitted detentions centers, just tell them not to come. All problems solved!" Trump said on Twitter.

Sudan protesters, generals resume talks over civilian rule
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Sudanese protest leaders and ruling generals resumed talks Wednesday over forming a new governing body, the first such negotiations since a deadly crackdown on demonstrators last month.

Three generals from the ruling military council, including its deputy chief General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, and five protest leaders resumed talks at a luxury hotel in Khartoum, an AFP correspondent reported.

The dialogue came after African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
and Æthiopian mediators called on the two sides to resume long-stalled negotiations on a transition to civilian rule.

murderous Moslems in Sinai, who despite their small size in the peninsula, is considered by many to be one of the most effective ISIS franchises outside Syria and Iraq, and have carried out numerous deadly attacks on Egyptian security forces.

Israel has a 240-kilometer border with the restive Sinai Peninsula, and Cairo and Jerusalem have been reported to have been closely cooperating in the fight against murderous Moslems since Sisi rose to power.

According to foreign reports, Israel has operated beyond its borders to thwart the smuggling of rockets into the blockaded Gaza Strip, reportedly working with Egyptian forces in the Sinai Peninsula.

In January, CBS News aired an interview with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi in which he said that military cooperation between Egypt and Israel has reached "unprecedented levels" in the Sinai Peninsula.

The Egyptian military announced in January that it had destroyed 37 cross-border tunnels linking the Gaza Strip to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula over the past year. The military began cracking down on tunnels stretching from the Hamas-run coastal enclave into the restive peninsula since the country’s September 2013 military coup.

Cairo has previously flooded Hamas tunnels along the Gaza Strip with seawater or sewage, and has destroyed hundreds of homes on the Egyptian side of Rafah to remove the tunnels.

Israel’s military has also been investing extensive efforts in locating cross-border tunnels from Gaza and has destroyed 15 terror tunnels that infiltrated into Israeli territory this past year, including one tunnel that stretched into both Israel and Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula near the Kerem Shalom crossing.

Cracking down on the Muslim Brotherhood's sleeper cells
[AlAhram] A law aimed at purging government ministries of Moslem Brüderbund elements is being drafted in parliament.

"Whenever some Brotherhood-related incidents ‐ such as the death of (former ousted president) Mohammed Morsi on 17 June ‐ take place, we discover that the sleeper cells are still there, occupying posts in government ministries and state institutions and trying their best to spread malicious rumours and causing unrest.

—MP Ahmed Helmi al-Sherif
Deputy Chairman of parliament’s Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee Ahmed Helmi al-Sherif announced this week that a law was currently being drafted to rid government ministries and state institutions of elements affiliated to the banned Moslem Brüderbund.

Algerian interim president says elections only democratic solution
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Algeria’s interim President Abdelkader Bensalah pledged in a speech Wednesday to hold talks without the involvement of the state or the military to pave the way for elections.

"This dialogue... will be led freely and with total transparency by national independent figures who have credibility and who are not linked to any party," he said.

"The state in all its components, including the military, will not be party to this dialogue and will remain neutral throughout," he added.

The president urged all sides to drop "unrealistic requirements that are likely to prolong the current situation and drag our country into a... constitutional vacuum."

His speech comes just days before his interim mandate expires on July 9.

The country has been hit by months of protests that initially culminated in ailing president Abdelaziz Bouteflika
... 10th president-for-life of Algeria. He was elected in 1999 and is currently on his third or fourth term. Maybe it's the fifth....
stepping down in early April, after tens of thousands opposed his bid for a fifth term.

Army chief Ahmed Gaid Salah has emerged as a key powerbroker since Bouteflika was forced out.

Gaid Salah was an ally of the ailing president, but as pressure from demonstrators mounted he ultimately called for the long-time leader’s impeachment.

Politicians and businessmen close to Bouteflika ‐ including former prime ministers Abdelmalik Sellal and Ahmed Ouyahia ‐ have been arrested in a corruption probe.

2 people killed, as many injured in firing incident at Lahore airport
[DAWN] Two people were killed while two others were maimed in a firing incident at Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport on Wednesday.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Ashfaq Ahmad Khan said two suspects ‐ identified as Shan and Arshad ‐ opened fire on a man near the airport's parking area. He said their target was Zain Ali, a 30-year-old resident of the Lakhodair area in Lahore, who was returning from Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. after performing Umrah. He went titzup.

Both the assailants, who have previous criminal records, have been arrested.

According to DIG Khan, the suspects had a long-running dispute with Zain.

The second victim of the shooting was a taxi driver named Akram, who had no relation to Zain but was struck during the firing. He was taken to a hospital where he departed this vale of tears.

Two others injured in the incident are under treatment at a hospital.

The DIG said that the suspects had duped Airport Security Force (ASF) officials and entered the airport parking area with weapons.

The two button men did not enter the main terminal's security cordon, but the incident raised concerns as the area is heavily patrolled by police and airport security.

DIG Khan stressed that it was the job of the ASF to manage the security at the facility. Meanwhile,
...back at the pie fight, Bella went down under the weight of the custard...
SP Cantt Safdar Raza Kazmi said police are investigating how the suspects managed to enter the airport premises with weapons.

Israel returns 20 Gazan fishing vessels
[Jpost] Israel returned 20 fishing boats to the Gazoo

Strip impounded by the IDF for breaking the naval blockade, after a petition by several human rights

organizations was accepted by the High Court of Justice.

Nizar Ayyash, head of the Paleostinian fishermen syndicate in Gaza, said that Israeli authorities informed the association that the vessels will be returned to their owners by sea on Wednesday.

The coordinator of the Paleostinian Fishermen’s Syndicate of the Union of Agricultural Work Committees in Gaza, Zakaria Bakr, said that the court decision called for the return of 65 boats.

The decision to return the boats followed drawn out legal proceedings, after a petition was submitted by human rights groups Gisha ‐ Legal Center for Freedom of Movement, Adalah ‐ The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, and Al Mezan Center for Human Rights to the Supreme Court in January on behalf of Gaza fisherman Abdel Ma’ati Habil, whose boat was seized by the Israel Navy in September 2016.

The petition called for Israel to return the boats along with their equipment, which Israel in the past has kept when it returned boats to fishermen.

According to sources, the vessels were returned without their engines.
Heh. "Bring oars"
The court was notified on June 13 that Israel would return Habil’s boat "within two weeks," and that the remaining boats would be returned by sea over the course of four months.

While the majority of boats will be returned by sea, Habil’s was returned by Israel on Tuesday through the Kerem Shalom crossing.

His boat sustained considerable damage from live fire during its seizure by the navy, and held without maintenance work causing authorities to have to return it by land as it could not be returned to the Strip by sea. It took seven hours to cross due to logistical challenges, according to Adalah.

Habil estimates it will cost over $45,000 to repair his boat. Spare parts and materials required for repairs are very difficult to obtain in the Gaza Strip, as Israel severely restricts and even prevents the entry of items it defines as dual use.

"Israel routinely seizes boats from fishermen in Gaza and holds them for months, even years, without legal authority and in violation of international law," Adalah said on Wednesday. "This punitive, violent and illegal measure causes severe harm to the fishing industry and to Gaza’s economy, and must be stopped."

Early on Wednesday, Paleostinians in Gaza fired rockets into the Mediterranean Sea, triggering false rocket alert sirens in several Israeli communities bordering the Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,-controlled enclave including Sderot. According to some reports, at least 10 rockets were fired into the sea from the northern Gaza Strip.

Incoming rocket sirens were also activated in southern Israel on Monday morning and were later ruled to be a false alarm.

Last week Israeli officials confirmed that new understandings had been reached between Israel and Hamas regarding a possible long-term ceasefire arrangement between the two sides.

US efforts to start Israel-Lebanon maritime border talks ‘failed’ - report
[Jpost] Acting Secretary of State David Satterfield’s efforts to get Israel and Leb around a negotiating table to discuss marking their maritime border has failed, according to Lebanese reports on Wednesday.

Satterfield, who was confirmed last Friday as Washington’s ambassador to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor...
and could be making his last visit to the region trying to deal with the maritime border issue, met in Beirut on Tuesday with Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil and House Speaker Nabih Knobby Berri
Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, a member of AMAL, a not very subtle Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
sock puppet...

According to these reports, Satterfield told his Lebanese interlocutors that Israel has refused their request for UN sponsorship of the talks, and their demands that the discussions should deal not only with the maritime border but also the land border as well.

Israel and Leb have a dispute over an 860 sq. km. area that includes several blocs rich in natural gas.

One of the key sticking points holding up the launch of the negotiations has been whether they will be open ended ‐ Leb’s demand ‐ or whether there will be a six-month deadline, Israel’s position.

The US reportedly has put forward a compromise solution whereby the talks will not have a firm deadline, but that the US ‐ in announcing the talks ‐ will say that the hope is that they are concluded within six months.

Al Joumhouria reported that Satterfield had suggested a verbal consensus on some of the negotiating mechanisms, but that Berri ‐ a Hezbollah ally ‐ rejected this and said to him that he does not even trust a written agreement with Israel, let alone an oral one.
That’s fine. It can all be readdressed after y’all have gone on a bit longer getting ever more reduced funding from Iran and the Gulf Arab countries.
A statement from Berri’s office on Tuesday said Leb wants the UN to sponsor the meetings "to deny the Israeli enemy the opportunity of snatching Lebanese rights."
Y’all seem to be labouring under the impressions that Barack Hussein Obama is still president. Sorry about that.
Another point of contention has to do with the UN’s role, with Leb wanting to see an active role for the world body, and Israel wanting to see the talks mediated by the US. The US proposed that the talks be held at a UN facility in Nakura but not under their sponsorship, something rejected by the Lebanese.

Last month Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz said he expected US-mediated talks to start within a month. On Wednesday, his office did not respond to requests for a reaction to the developments.
Not really any point is saying anything more than the above, after all.

Gibraltar detains Syria-bound supertanker with Iranian oil
[Ay-Pee] Authorities in Gibraltar said they intercepted Thursday an Iranian supertanker believed to be breaching European Union sanctions by carrying a shipment of Tehran's crude oil to war-ravaged Syria.

A senior Spanish official said the operation was requested by the United States. Iran's state-run IRNA news agency described the incident as "an illegal seizure of an Iranian oil tanker."
Says the Iranians who don't respect anyone's property, sovereignty, civil niceties, lives
Gibraltar port and law enforcement agencies, assisted by Britain's Royal Marines, boarded the Grace 1 early Thursday, authorities on the British overseas territory at the tip of Spain said in a statement.

It added that the vessel was believed to be headed to the Baniyas Refinery in Syria, a government-owned facility under the control of Syrian President Bashar Assad and subject to the EU's Syrian Sanctions Regime.

The EU and others have imposed sanctions on Assad's government over its continued crackdown against civilians. They currently target 270 people and 70 entities.

Spain's caretaker foreign minister Josep Borrell said the tanker was stopped by British authorities after a request from the United States.

Iran later summoned the British ambassador in Tehran to answer questions about the operation. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said in a tweet that Rob Macaire was summoned over the "illegal interception" of the ship.

Mousavi later called the ship's seizure "odd and destructive." ″It can cause an increase in tensions in the region," he said in a live telephone interview on state television Thursday night.
You betcha. *SNORT*
Update from The Times of Israel at 2:45 EDT:
The Gibraltar authorities didn’t confirm the origin of the ship’s cargo but Lloyd’s List, a publication specialized in maritime affairs, reported this week that the Panama-flagged large carrier was laden with Iranian oil. Experts were said to have concluded that it carried oil from Iran because the tanker was not sending geographic information while in Iranian waters.
A neon-lit sign of nefarious intent...
According to a United Nations list, the ship is owned by the Singapore-based Grace Tankers Ltd.

Iran blasts its own state TV program for pulling lid off secret oil sales
[IsraelTimes] FM Zarif says talk show ’went against national interests’ for segment detailing covert delivery of 1m barrels of crude oil to China in defiance of US sanctions.

Iranian officials slammed the country’s state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
on Wednesday for airing a program on oil sales to China that contravene US sanctions, saying the report went "against national interests."

Washington abandoned a landmark 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers last year and reimposed sanctions on the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s crucial oil sales as well as other parts of the economy.

The "Hello, Good Morning" talk show featured on Tuesday a program on the Salina, an Iranian-flagged tanker under US sanctions that reportedly had delivered 1 million barrels of crude oil to China’s Jinzhou port in late June.

China ‐ along with Britannia, La Belle France, Germany and Russia ‐ is one of the partners in the nuclear deal and has rejected US President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...
’s administration’s efforts to cut Iranian oil exports to zero.

"This shows that sanctions are ineffective and Iran’s path to sell its oil is not blocked," the program’s host said, showing what he claimed were satellite photos of the tanker berthed at the Chinese port.

The state broadcaster immediately came under fire from local media who called the program "suspicious," with officials weighing in the next day.

"This will hurt (Iran’s) national interests," semi-official ISNA news agency quoted Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as saying. "Thank God I don’t watch TV."

Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said that the program "has undone what the ministry set out to do."

Zanganeh has previously said that Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
was keeping up oil sales through "unconventional" means kept secret to skirt US sanctions.

State television responded by saying the information was already public, pointing to a Financial Times report published last week.

Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh. (CC-BY Wikimedia/tasnimnews.com)
"If the Americans were going to track the tanker, they would have last week and did not need Hello, Good Morning to remind them in Farsi," it said in a statement.

Zanganeh said republishing reports by foreign media ‐ some of which are Iran’s "enemies" ‐ is "inappropriate" and state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
should only report "news on oil export confirmed by the oil ministry," ISNA reported.

As part of its "maximum pressure" campaign against Iran, Washington has vowed to reduce Iran’s foreign currency earnings via blocking its oil, petrochemical and metal exports.

200 corpses found in mass grave in Syria’s Raqqa
[IsraelTimes] As many as 800 people, many of them victims of Islamic State, could be buried in total, local official says.

Two hundred corpses, including those of people believed to have been executed by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. group, were found near the Syrian city of Raqqa, a local official and a war monitor said Wednesday.

The mass grave contained the bodies of five middle-aged men in orange jumpsuits of the kind typically worn by IS hostages, Yasser al-Khamees and the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

"They were shackled and shot in the head," said Khamees, who heads a team of first responders.

They were believed to have been killed more than two years ago, he said, adding that his team was not immediately able to identify them.

The grave also included the bodies of three women who were believed to have been stoned to death, Khamees and the Observatory said.

"Their skulls were severely fractured and displayed signs of stoning," the local official added.

The digger said his team first discovered the mass grave early last month on the southern edges of Raqqa, IS’s former Syria capital.

As many as 800 people could be buried there in total, he said.

Its discovery could help identify even more of the several thousand people whose fates remain unknown, including foreigners imprisoned by IS.

US-backed forces ousted IS from the devastated city in October 2017, leaving the Raqqa Civil Council (RCC) to run it.

The RCC has been retrieving bodies from the rubble across Raqqa, left in ruins by the months-long assault to oust IS.

In February, an exhumation team uncovered a mass grave holding an estimated 3,500 people in Raqqa’s al-Fukheikha agricultural suburb ‐ the largest to date.

Several other mass graves have already been identified around the city, including one in the neighborhood known as "Panorama," from which more than 900 bodies were exhumed.

Put them all in the ground after a trial showing ISIS membership.

#2  Most IS members are caught in situ, red handed. They are often wounded or severely roughed up and arrested. There should be no trial. Just a quick execution and no prisoners after an encounter. Even those detained for questioning can only turn up so much info. Once they're dry, they should be deep-sixed too. I could never understand the reluctance of some officers to allow for this.

#3  Recall that the Syrian Kurds are shipping ISIS prisoners to Iraq for trial and execution as quickly as Iraq can handle them. And also that along with the reconquest the meticulous ISIS membership files were retained, so there isn’t much question about who among the captives is guilty of what. It’s just that we’re all impatient for this stage to be over.

Rouhani: Iran will enrich uranium to ‘any amount we want’
[THEBAGHDADPOST] Iran’s president warned Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an partners in its faltering nuclear deal on Wednesday that Tehran will increase its enrichment of uranium to "any amount that we want" beginning on Sunday, putting pressure on them to offer a way around intense US sanctions targeting the country.

The comments by President Hassan Rouhani come as tensions remain high between Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and the US over the deal, which President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
pulled America from over a year ago.

Authorities on Monday acknowledged Iran broke through a limit placed on its stockpile of low-enriched uranium.

An increasing stockpile and higher enrichment closes the estimated one-year window Iran would need to produce enough material for a nuclear bomb, something Iran denies it wants but the nuclear deal sought to prevent.

Meanwhile,
...back at the abandoned silver mine, a triangular dorsal fin appeared in the water. Then another...
the US has rushed an aircraft carrier, B-52 bombers and F-22 fighters to the region and Iran recently shot down a US military surveillance drone. On Wednesday, Iran marked the shootdown by the US Navy of an Iranian passenger jet in 1988, a mistake that killed 290 people and shows the danger of miscalculation in the current crisis.

Speaking at a Cabinet meeting in Tehran, Rouhani’s comments seemed to signal that Europe has yet to offer Iran anything to alleviate the pain of the renewed US sanctions targeting its oil industry and brass hats.

Iran’s nuclear deal currently bars it from enriching uranium above 3.67%, which is enough for nuclear power plants but far below the 90% needed for weapons.
