Attacks in the past have required malware to somehow be delivered to the ATM or to have physical access to the ATM.
In the former scenario, attackers (same group that hit the DNC by the way) hit several Russian banks to cause the ATMs to spew out money at specific times and their mules would collected it then. They gained access as a couple of the regular networked PCs had full access to the ATMs and when they were infected, the ATMs were exposed to attack.
The other example involved a vendor swapping out infected hard drives on the ATMs so attackers could gain access that way. Some ATM locks are so bad you can pick them with a paper clip and people can get to the electronics (the money is still in a different locked safe inside) and hack the system then.
Another group, called Catholic Democrats of Nebraska, brought a “public” letter, signed by more than 660 people, calling for Ricketts to “see the error of his ways” and halt the execution.
“We pray that you have a conversation of the heart,” the letter said.
One of the women who delivered the Catholic Democrats’ letter, Marylyn Felion, a death penalty opponent from Omaha, said Ricketts is violating an oath he took as a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre to pledge “absolute fidelity to the pope.” “He has hidden behind Catholic teaching as long as it served his purpose ... now, no more,” Felion said.
Can good Catholics take the oath of office, by Feilon's standards? The foreign manufacturer of the lethal drug also wanted the court to intervene, overturning Constitutional law and the will of the people by vote, because of their opinion! Religious litmus testing may be necessary to keep socialistic globalists from usurping the power of the people.
[FOX] A pilot who was killed after crashing a plane into a Utah home he owned Monday morning was arrested on a domestic violence charge hours before he piloted the aircraft into the building where his wife and adult son were staying, police said.
Officials said it appeared the man, identified by relatives as Duane Youd, crashed the plane intentionally, according to FOX13 Salt Lake City.
Youd, 47, was booked into jail Sunday after a domestic violence incident and was later released on bail, the station reported.
Youd’s wife and adult son were in the home and escaped unharmed.
"There were two individuals in the home at the time that the plane went in," Payson police Sgt. Noemi Sandoval said. "They were able to get out of the home without any injuries. Obviously, they were very shook up over what had happened but they weren't physically injured."
Photos from the scene showed the plane wreckage in the front yard of the home. The house itself caught fire and was engulfed in flames before fire crews arrived to extinguish it.
This was posted on facebook with the YouTube take down. I am not a Fan of the Mormon Church or other groups but this take down is telling and NOTE that Scientology Videos are still hosted by YouTube.
Facebook Link
Apparently, YouTube has now taken down the Mormon Channel. This was the media channel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There are other LDS-related channels, but I’m told that was the one where they shared their inspirational videos and such.
I tried searching for the YouTube Mormon Channel. The link comes up but it’s dead.
Before any rando idiots come piling in with their repetitive crap, yes, I understand that this is not technically a violation of the Church’s rights, that YouTube is a private platform, etc. As with Alex Jones, that’s not the point.
So, according to Google, Alex Jones was the worst and had to go, and one rung below Infowars on the ladder of evil are the Mormons? Are you kidding me?
I bet they’ll walk it back and restore it, and they will claim it was an “error”, just like with the gun channels. It might depend on how much backlash there is.
I told you guys this wouldn’t end with Alex Jones.
[AlAhram] An Egyptian prosecution ordered on Sunday a four day detention of a monk pending investigations into his alleged involvement in last month's murder of Bishop Epiphanius, the head of the Monastery of Saint Macarius in Wadi El-Natroun.
Bishop Epiphanius was found dead inside the monastery on 29 July under what the church described as "suspicious circumstances."
An Alexandria prosecution ordered the detention of monk Faltaous El-Makary for "conspiring with others" to murder Bishop Epiphanius, according to state-owned MENA news agency.
Faltaous reportedly confessed to conspiring to kill the bishop with recently defrocked monk Isaiah El-Makary, who has also been detained on Saturday.
Following the murder of the bishop, Faltaous attempted to commit suicide, and is currently being treated in Cairo's Anglo American Hospital for injuries sustained in the suicide attempt.
Isaiah was defrocked last week after an investigation by the monastic affairs committee of the Holy Synod, the highest decision-making body in the Coptic Orthodox Church, revealed that he had committed actions unbecoming of a monk.
Isaiah was released from the monastery by Church decree and ordered to go by his former, non-monastic name of Wael Saad Tawadros.
The Church had previously stressed that the monk was not dismissed from his position due to the investigations into the murder of Bishop Epiphanius, and that he had been investigated and sanctioned previously by the Church for breaking monastic rules.
Following the death of Bishop Epiphanius, the Holy Synod issued new decrees prohibiting monks from using social media, appearing on media outlets, and building non-sanctioned places of worship.
The decrees also included a one-year freeze on the process of initiating new monks, and a three-year suspension of the ordination of monks as priests and archpriests.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Tunisia’s president backed a call for women to be granted equal inheritance rights, going against the norm in many Moslem nations that strongly favor male heirs, a topic that has been at the center of a wider debate about modernizing Islam.
The proposal, laid out by Beji Caid Essebsi in a televised address marking National Women’s Day, was first suggested by a committee which had deliberated the issue for about a year.
The recommendation angered Islamist groups, though, and in a nod to their influence that could undermine any eventual legislation, the president said those who wanted to abide by established Islamic inheritance doctrine should also be allowed to do so.
He stressed that changes must be made, and he referred the measure to politicians for discussion.
Previously last year on the same occasion, the Tunisian president announced the formation of a committee to study the issue of individuals' rights and to consider equality between men and women in all fields.
Despite the respect for women's rights in Tunisia compared to other Moslem countries, arbitration in inheritance is still based on the Sharia or Islamic law, where the man’s share equals to that of two women.
President Essibsi stressed that equality between men and women, which was approved by the Tunisian constitution, should cover all areas, including equality in inheritance.
"If we think about harmony, because the constitution dictates this, we must go in this direction," he said.
He added that inheritance is not a religious matter, but rather a matter for human beings. "God and His Messenger have left the matter for human beings to act," he said.
The Committee on Individual Freedoms and Equality, set up in August 2017, presented its recommendations on Feb. 20 to the president.
"Tunisia is once again pioneering and irreversibly moving towards advancement," the committee’s chairwoman Bochra Bel Haj Hmida told the Thomson Rooters Foundation in emailed comments.
"The issue of the right of children to add the title of their mother has been discussed ... All discriminatory laws in the family space and public space are included in the commission’s tasks."
Women in the north African country are eagerly anticipating the proposals, following gains in 2017 that lifted a ban on Moslem women marrying non-Moslem men and an end to a law that let rapists escape punishment by marrying their victims.

The father of the girl said Kamrul is a very influential person in the area and he was trying to manipulate the case with money.
When contacted, Md Ataur Rahman, chairman of the school committee, said they had decided to suspend Kamrul.
Probir Kumar Biswas, officer-in-charge of the cop shoppe, said Kamrul had fled the house after the case was filed.
"We are trying to arrest him soon," he added.
Dr Moshiur Rahman Babu, medical officer of NarailSadar Hospital, said the victim had been admitted to the hospital after five days of the incident.
The facts would be determined after getting medical reports, he also said.

[PRESSTV] Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has announced that he will permit FBI agents to aid in the investigation into the recent liquidation attempt against him.
If Washington confirms "the offer for the FBI to investigate links in Florida with the liquidation plan... I would agree for the FBI to come here," said Maduro on Sunday.
Following the attack Maduro blamed "terrorist cells" in Florida led by a man called Osman Delgado Tabosky.
Maduro's announcement came several days after Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza said that the IS charge d'affairs in Caracas, James Story, had said is government was willing to "cooperate" in the investigation failed liquidation.
On Friday, Venezuela called on the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) to arrest an opposition politician exiled in Colombia and accused of involvement in an apparent liquidation attempt on Maduro.

Can't do it. The globalists in The Swamp just love meddling in other countries. Can't stop doing it. It's in their blood and getting involved in affairs that are not their concern sends shivers of pleasure down their spines.

THIS ($$$$$) is the globalism that started with Hildabeast as the Obama regimes Secretary of State. Then Mueller wanted in on the $$$Global$$$ äction.

There is just one problem: China’s economic statistics are largely fictitious, and the gap between statistics and reality is growing ever larger. If the statistics are nonsense, then probably the economic power is nonsense as well.
The most egregious flaw in China’s statistics is the savings rate. For decades we have been told that the Chinese people are extraordinary savers, with a savings rate of some 46% of GDP, according to the latest figures, compared with around 6.8% of GDP (Itself a figure recently and dubiously inflated by the Bureau of Economic Analysis) in the United States. Touchingly sentimental pictures are painted of the noble impoverished Chinese, earning one fiftieth of a Western wage but nevertheless saving nearly half of that pittance, seven times the American rate of saving, because of the country’s notorious lack of social services for the elderly.
If China really had a savings rate of 46%, the economy would look quite different. There would be very little debt in the system; the banks would have a very low loans to deposits ratio and low leverage, like banks in nineteenth century Britain. Consumer debt would be almost non-existent, while the Chinese market would have an enormous variety of saving and investment schemes, to take care of all the accumulated wealth. New company formation would be very high, but "venture capital" would be very scarce, because new companies would be capitalized from the savings of the founders’ relatives and friends. Overall, China might well have a rapid growth rate, but it would be a very contented, stable economy.
A recent Financial Times examination of China’s economy illustrates the problem; it shows consumer debt almost doubling as a share of GDP, from roughly 20% to 40% in the last five years and tells pathetic stories of young, highly educated Chinese who max out their credit cards, desperately hoping to boost their earnings sufficiently to pay that debt back. But Chinese elite youths brought up in a society with a 46% savings rate would have neither the desire nor the need for heavy credit card usage. First, they would have been brought up in families with a fanatical devotion to deferring consumption, so would regard the over-indebted Western Millennial lifestyle with undiluted horror. Second, because of their families’ savings habits, such elite youths would be beneficiaries of very substantial trust funds from their relatives, and so would have no need of credit cards.
If the savings rate is fiction, then so are all China’s economic statistics. GDP is at least one third lower than claimed, to account for the missing savings, and growth rates over the last decades correspondingly lower, On the other hand, China’s foreign debt is all too real, and most of the domestic debt also appears to be solid, so China’ s gross debt, already alarmingly high at 299% of GDP according to the Institute for International Finance, is in reality about 450% of true GDP, substantially higher than that of any other country. With such a level of debt, China is not about to overtake the West, it is in imminent danger of collapse. Indeed, it is at first sight something of a mystery why it has not collapsed already under the weight of its excesses.

Seriously, I suspect the reason spending is so high is that they're dealing with a vastly inflated real estate market where it's seen as the only real hedge against inflation available.
Much of China’s investment in the last quarter-century, domestic and international, has been “malinvestment” in the Austrian economists’ use of that term; and must be liquidated for the economy to regain its health.

Economics is not the forte of socialists (or recent socialist). Honest reporting of information up the autocratic/bureaucratic chain is about the same (about on par with our own Legacy Infotainment Enterprises). China’s foreign debt is all too real but manageable by the usual refusal to pay, amply demonstrated by other one party regimes. The question is can they re-capitalize themselves afterward without dependence upon international trade/commerce.
[Breitbart] More than half of the annual inflow of foreign refugees arriving in the United States are on food stamps, a government report reveals.
Since 2008, as Breitbart News reported, the U.S. has permanently resettled more than 1.7 million foreign nationals and refugees through a variety of humanitarian programs like the Special Immigrant Juveniles and the Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act. This is a foreign population larger than Philadelphia, Pennsylvania ‐ a city with more than 1.5 million residents.
An annual report by the Office of Refugee Resettlement was analyzed by the Center for Immigration Studies’ Jason Richwine, in which the analyst revealed that about 56 percent of households headed by foreign refugees who arrived in the U.S. between 2011 and 2015 are using taxpayer-funded food stamps.
Nearly 30 percent of refugees received cash welfare of some sort, while 34 percent of refugees 18-years-old or older said they had no health insurance. Of the refugees who said they did have health insurance, about 50 percent said they were either on Medicaid or Refugee Medical Assistance, both of which are taxpayer-funded.

Showing no signs of backing down in the standoff, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey would stop procuring US-made iPhones and buy Korean Samsung or Turkish-made Vestel products instead.
"If they have the iPhone, there is Samsung elsewhere. We have Vestel." It was unclear how Erdogan intended to enforce the boycott.
Over the last few days, Turkey has seen a significant devaluation of its currency the lira, which has lost more than 45 percent of its value this year.

[DAWN] FAISALABAD: A five-member police inquiry committee has declared as wrong the version of Millat Town police on the killing of two youngsters in Moslem Town here on Aug 8, that the victims were bumped off in "crossfire" at a picket.
Arslan and Usman, both matriculates, were reportedly shot at and injured by police for not stopping their bike at a picket. They died shortly after and the killings sparked nine-hour-long public protest. Police had claimed that the youngsters were killed in "crossfire" with police. A case of a police encounter was registered against the victims.
Following the protest, City Police Officer Ashfaq Ahmad Khan had constituted a committee to probe into the matter that comprised SSP (operations) Sultan Haider (convener), SSP (investigation) Syed Nadeem, Madina Town SP Asif Amin, SP Farhat Abbas (legal) and Nishatabad DSP Qaiser Musthaq.
The committee had recorded the statements of suspects, including Assistant Sub-Inspector Javed Akhtar, Head Constable Asghar Ali, Constable Falak Sher and terminated constable Faisal.
The suspects told the committee that the bikers, Usman and Arslan, were stopped at a picket near Bagh Wali Puli, but they tried to speed away and shot it out with the police.
According to police sources, the suspects neither corroborated their claim, nor produced any weapon allegedly recovered from the victims to prove that they fired at the police.
They said the inquiry committee also mentioned that no criminal record of the victims could be detected.
One of the suspects, police volunteer Waqas is on the lam, while the rest of them are in jug.
The CPO had given the committee 24 hours to conclude the probe. However, you can observe a lot just by watching... it failed to meet the deadline as the suspects joined the inquiry proceedings on Saturday after securing their pre-arrest bails.
The Supreme Court had also sought a report from the Punjab 1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard

A sexual harassment scandal that has rocked New York University centers around two academics with Israeli roots.
The New York Times revealed on Monday that NYU has suspended Prof. Avital Ronell after an investigation found her responsible for sexually harassing her former student, Nimrod Reitman.
Ronell, a world-renowned professor of philosophy and German and comparative literature, was found to have verbally and physically sexually harassed Reitman over a period of three years.
Ronell was born in Prague to Israeli diplomats, and moved to New York at a young age. Her work in the fields of literary studies, feminist theory and psychoanalysis have gained her international acclaim in the academic world.
In 2017, two years after he graduated from an NYU doctoral program, Reitman filed a complaint to NYU about Ronell's behavior, according to the university newspaper Washington Square News.
Reitman alleged that Ronell touched him and kissed him without his consent, sent him dozens of inappropriate emails and text messages and even insisted on sleeping in his bed. Reitman accused Ronell of threatening not to work with him and retaliating against his professional career for not giving into her demands.
Reitman, who is currently a visiting fellow at Harvard University, is a native Israeli, who received his bachelor's and master's degree from Tel Aviv University. Reitman is gay and now married, and Ronell has identified herself as queer.
The professor told The New York Times that their relationship was not how Reitman described it.
"Our communications - which Reitman now claims constituted sexual harassment - were between two adults, a gay man and a queer woman, who share an Israeli heritage, as well as a penchant for florid and campy communications arising from our common academic backgrounds and sensibilities," she wrote. "These communications were repeatedly invited, responded to and encouraged by him over a period of three years."

In today's edition of the Rantburg Challenge, you try to guess whether this article is a sub-plot of a poorly produced Mexican telenovela or the latest bit of drama from America's universities. Ready, go!

Lesb1ans need more drama, I suspect. In an unmixed female milieu, as their cycles cycle ever closer together, the drama necessarily increases in my observation.
But queer isn’t lesb1an, surely, because then there’d beno need for a differnt term, whatever it actually means.
