Kansas Couple Arrested For Walmart Secks
A pair of frisky Kansans are facing criminal charges after they allegedly swiped some K-Y Jelly from a Walmart and actually began trysting inside the big box retailer, cops report.
"Hey, honey! Whut's this here stuff?"
"That there's KY Jelly, snuggle bunny!"
"Whut's it do?"
"Here, lemme show yew..."

The X-rated encounter Sunday evening resulted in the arrest of Julian Call, 22, and Tina Gianakon, 35, on theft and lewd and lascivious behavior charges, according to the Hutchinson Police Department.
"Hokey smoke, Julian! That there stuff works purdy good!"
"Lemme show yew whut else it does!"

Witnesses told officers that the couple was openly fondling each other in full view of fellow Walmart shoppers (which resulted in the lewd and lascivious charges).
"Here, you two! Stop that! Yer curdling the milk!"
"I wuz just showin' Tina, here, whutcha do with KY Jelly!"
"I never knew you could do that! It's frightening!"

Additionally, the pair was accused of shoplifting the sexual lubricant and other items.
"Julian! Whut's that stuff there do?"
"Here, lemme show yew!"
"Put that back! And pull yer pants up! Both of you!"

Egypt's new PM vows 'govt of the people'
Egypt's prime minister-designate is describing his new 35-member Cabinet as the "people's government" and has called on Egyptians to unite in the face of "grave" challenges.

Hosni Mubarak's defense minister of 20 years, Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, will retain the post.
The U.S.-educated Hesham Kandil also confirmed that Hosni Mubarak's defense minister of 20 years, Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, will retain the post. Tantawi led the military generals who took over from Mubarak when the president stepped down after a popular uprising last year.

Kandil spoke at a news conference on Thursday, hours ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the new Cabinet. He says several members of the outgoing, military-backed government will retain their posts, including the foreign and finance ministers.

Kandil is a devout Muslim who maintains that he has no formal links to any of the country's Islamist political parties.

Bangladesh
One more confesses killing Saudi official
[Bangla Daily Star] One more accused of Saudi embassy official Khalaf Al Ali murder case admitted his involvement in the killing before a metropolitan magistrate of Dhaka yesterday.
The pliers and mustache wax had their usual effectiveness.
Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan recorded the statement of Akbar Ali Ilias Lalu, one of the five accused in the case, for over two and a half hours at his chamber.

Khalaf, 45, an official at the consular section of Saudi embassy in Dhaka, was rubbed out near his house in the diplomatic enclave at the wee hours of March 6.

Akbar said he along with four others -- Saiful Islam Mamun, 20, Rafiqul Islam Khokon, 22, Al Amin, 25, and Selim, 23, -- were present at the scene.

The accused also said they started a brawl with Khalaf when they demanded dollars from him but he refused to give them.

Akbar told the court that Selim searched the victim's pocket for dollars.

At one point, Saiful shot Khalaf, he said, echoing Al Amin who also confessed to the killing before the magistrate on Monday.

Al Amin added that he was sitting inside a microbus by which they later fled.

After recording the statement, the court sent Akbar to jail.

Two other arrestees, Saiful and Rafiqul, have been placed on an eight-day remand along with Akbar since July 24. They will be produced before the court as their remand period ends today, said sources.

Police may likes to seek further remand, sources added.

Detectives recently placed in long-term storage
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
the four while Selim has been on the run.

On July 1, the case was included in the list of sensational cases under the home ministry's monitoring cell.

Four months and 19 days into the killing of Khalaf, detectives on July 25 at a press briefing claimed that the incident was of simply mugging.

Chavez resumes Cuba radiation treatment
[Bangla Daily Star] Venezuelan His Excellency President-for-Life, Caudillo of the Bolivarians Hugo Chavez left for Cuba late Saturday to undergo a second round of radiation therapy as part of his back-and-forth cancer treatment in Havana.
Yep. Has it under control...
State-controlled television showed the president boarding a plane at Maiquetia Airport accompanied by his daughter Maria Virginia and one of his grandchildren.

Vice President Elias Jaua and other top government officials bid Chavez farewell at the airport.

"There are five sessions of radiotherapy... for five consecutive days, then two days of rest... Chavez said before leaving the Miraflores Palace. "With this I have faith that (the cancer) inside my body will not return."
Oh, yeah. Count on it.

#1  If your country's medical system is supposed to so socialist good, why are you going to Cuba for treatment? Afraid to be put under sedation by people from your own country? (Expect American Presidents and Politicians to do likewise come 2016 when our healthcare system is in ruins here too.)

#3  Just how much radiation has Chavez actually had?

I've been enduring (so far sucessfully) esophageal cancer and my radiation oncologist says the 25 sessions he prescribed are the limit.

(surgery in another week, and then 2 more rounds of chemo. sorry to digress)

Economy
Jobless Claims Increase
"It's working." -- Barack Obama.
The number of U.S. workers filing applications for jobless benefits unexpectedly rose last week, continuing an uneven pattern that suggests job creation was likely modest in July.

Initial jobless claims, an indication of layoffs, increased by 8,000 to a seasonally adjusted 365,000 in the week ended July 28, the Labor Department said Thursday. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires had forecast 370,000 new applications for jobless benefits last week.

Claims for the July 21 week were revised up to 357,000 from an initially reported 353,000. Still the four-week moving average of claims, which covers nearly all of July, fell by 2,750 to 365,500, the lowest level since March. The moving average is considered a more-reliable measure because it smoothes out weekly data.

A Labor Department official said claims are volatile in July due to temporary layoffs in the automotive industry.

The numbers come a day ahead of July's payroll report.

US Manufacturing Sector Shrank for Second Month
Unexpectedly!
WASHINGTON -- U.S. manufacturing shrank for the second straight month in July, further evidence of an economy growing at a sluggish pace.

The Institute for Supply Management, a trade group of purchasing managers, said Wednesday that its index of manufacturing activity ticked up to 49.8, from 49.7 in June. A reading below 50 indicates contraction. June was the first time the survey showed manufacturing contracted in three years.

The reading points toward more slow growth but not another recession. The trade group says the index needs to fall below 43 to signal a recession is likely.

The July report also showed factories hired in at a slower pace than June, while new orders declined more slowly. And export orders fell to the lowest level since April 2009, evidence of slower global economic growth.

Manufacturing has been a key source of growth in the U.S. since the recession ended in June 2009. But in recent months, factory activity has weakened along with the broader economy. Job growth has slumped and U.S. consumers and businesses have cut back on spending, lowering demand for factory goods. Europe's economic woes and slower growth in China, India and Brazil have reduced demand for American exports.

The Labor Department will issue the July jobs report Friday. Economists forecast it will show that employers added only 100,000 jobs, according to a survey by FactSet. The unemployment rate will probably remain stuck at 8.2 percent.
The real U6 rate will remain stuck around 15 percent.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Shimshon well tests at 40million cu ft/day
The Shimshon well off the coast of Israel was flowing at a rate of 40.2 million cubic feet a day at the end of a 54-hour test, Isramco Negev 2 LP (ISRAL), which has a 39 percent stake, said today in a statement. ATP is the well operator with a 40 percent interest. Isramco reported July 1 the field may hold 2.3 trillion cubic feet of gas.
It will take a few months to tie this well into the existing system for delivery and execute the sale contracts but with Europe currently paying exorbitant prices (about $14 per thousand cu ft wholesale) the selling ought to go quickly and ultimately help both Israel, ATP(which is having finance stress because of the Obama Admin Gulf drilling ban) and Europe. The loser will be Russia which will lose some customers.

Iran to send monkey into space after month of Ramadan
TEHRAN – Iran plans to send a live monkey into space aboard a rocket called Kavoshgar-5 (explorer-5) after the month of Ramadan, Iran Space Agency (ISA) Director Hamid Fazeli announced on Wednesday.

Kavoshgar-5, with a weight of about 300 kg, contains a biological capsule in which a rhesus monkey will be placed.

Speaking to reporters, Fazeli also said that ISA plans to send the Fajr (Dawn) satellite into space within the coming few months.

The Fajr satellite is a reconnaissance satellite powered by solar energy.

Fazeli also said that Iran will send the satellite into space aboard the upgraded Safir one satellite carrier rocket.

The launch of the satellite into the orbit will be a technological step forward in Iran’s space industry.

Iran has already sent three satellites into space. On February 3, the country successfully launched its third domestically manufactured satellite, named the Navid (Promise), into orbit. The Safir one satellite carrier rocket was used to launch the Navid research satellite.

Home Front: Culture Wars
Rick Warren: Chick-fil-A’s owner told me they set a new world record in sales today

And the day’s not over yet.

Somewhere, a Burger King ad man’s toying with the idea of having “The King” declare himself “100% pro-life.”

Not a word about today’s activities has been whispered on Chick-fil-A’s feed even though CFA has been trending on Twitter off and on all day. As noted in the earlier post, the suspicion is that the company’s lying low about what’s happening in order to extricate itself from the front line of the culture war, but I wonder if today’s outpouring will draw some sort of recognition tomorrow. If Dan Cathy’s willing to tout the numbers to Rick Warren, presumably an official acknowledgment and thank you is on the way.

There’s no shortage of local news stories out there about huge lines at the neighborhood CFA; if you’re curious, these two, from Iowa and Kentucky, are fairly representative. Meanwhile, I assume some sort of “Unappreciation Day” is in the works on the left, if only to respond to such an impressive show of strength, but I don’t know. Could be that, between this and the thuggish idiocy of Rahm and Mumbles Menino, they’re ready to cut their losses. Exit question: How big a political victory is this for Huckabee? Per this Fox News clip (via Mediaite), even he sounds surprised.

#3  ..one way they can finally express their opinion of TinkerRahm and his ilk ruling elite.

Guess too many years have past in history for the 'elite' to remember literally the bloody lesson of not listening to vox populi. Just repeats the game later of (real) historians and chroniclers of "why didn't they pay attention to what was happening?" The real answer is that they didn't want to pay attention, they thought they were in charge and could bend the world to their view. Caution - bending can lead to breaking.
