[Chicago Tribune] Cicero's top cop is praising the actions of a concealed gun holder who opened fire on a suspect who had shot one of the town's officers after a traffic stop on the Stevenson Expressway during evening rush hour Thursday.
"We were lucky enough to have a citizen on the street there who is a conceal carry holder, and he engaged in gunfire with the suspect," Cicero Police Supt. Jerry Chlada Jr. said outside Mount Sinai Hospital, where Officer Luis Duarte was listed in good condition after undergoing surgery for four bullet wounds to the arm, leg and side.
The shootout began around 5:05 p.m. when Cicero police tried to stop a car in the 3900 block of South Cicero Avenue, Chlada said. The driver sped off but the officers boxed in his car on the southbound Cicero exit of the Stevenson. The driver got out and fired several rounds at two officers, then ran north on Cicero and fired at another officer chasing him, Chlada said.
A man with a concealed carry license driving south on Cicero left his car and fired at the suspect, Chlada said. The suspect was hit and was listed at death's door, police said. It was not clear if the suspect was shot by the conceal carry holder or police.

[BIZPACREVIEW] [BIZPACREVIEW] Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh was captured on camera saying "you can smell the rats" among other derogatory remarks as she toured a low-income neighborhood in the crime-ridden city.
The Democrat mayor was slammed for being offensive and out-of-touch after touring an East Baltimore neighborhood with other city officials, which included vacant homes, the Baltimore Sun reported.
"What the hell? We should just take all this sh*t down," Pugh is heard saying in the clip, clearly overwhelmed by the scene. "Whoa, you can smell the rats."
"Whew, Jesus. Oh, my God, you can smell the dead animals," she added, according to the Sun,

And that was only a tour down the hall from her Office at City Hall.
Or perhaps an impromptu attempt to purchase a can of Coke from the drink machine in the Lounge at the local Police Station.
[MAINICHI.JP] Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Gov. Jerry Governor Moonbeam Brown ... those who ignore history are bound to repeat it... said Friday that the state plans to launch its "own damn satellite" into orbit to battle climate change.
The man the late reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,... columnist Mike Royko famously dubbed "Gov. Moonbeam" made the announcement at the conclusion of a two-day climate summit he organized in the Socialist paradise of San Francisco ...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964... Brown said state officials will work with the San Francisco-based company Planet Labs to develop a satellite to track climate-change causing pollutants. Brown said the earth-imaging company has launched 150 satellites.
"With science still under attack and the climate threat growing, we're launching our own damn satellite," he said.
The Democrat, who is leaving office at the end of the year, didn't announce a launch date or divulge a cost estimate.
Brown's office said government scientists and staff will work on the project, but that no state money will be spent directly developing the satellite. Private donations are being made by San Francisco investment banker Richard Lawrence and his wife Dee Lawrence along with the Jeremy and Hannelore Grantham Environmental Trust.

Based on the novel and revolutionary concept that Earth is flat?

You have money for satellites, but have a big sucking pension bomb sitting in the room. When it all collapses, I want tribunals to prosecute all the pols who kicked the can down the road while partying like its 1999. It's called fiduciary responsibility.
David Hogg, the teenage Parkland-shooting-sufferer-turned-political activist, took to Twitter to call out U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley ...Trump administration's ambassador to the UN. First woman to serve as Governor of South Carolina, and the second Indian-American governor in the country, after Bobby Jindal of Louisiana. At the age of 39, Haley was the youngest governor in the U.S., a distinction formerly held by Jindal. She is a Republican, which really grates on the Dems... as an audacious failure who ought to resign her post pronto. "Immediately," is how Hogg put it. As in do not pass go, do not collect $200.
If only Hogg’s reasoning were sound, maybe he wouldn’t be such a headache.
No ‐ take that back. Hogg’s a headache, no matter how you slice it. But if only his call for Haley to resign were based on something other than his emotionally driven hatred for all things conservative, maybe he wouldn’t be a migraine of a headache.
His tweet: "Dear Nikki Haley, There are starving children in American everyday and you have the audacity to misappropriate thousands of tax dollars for your own lavish lifestyle. Resign immediately. sincerely, America."
America?
Is Hogg really going to try to speak for the entire nation?
Anyhow, his own bit of audacity (because that’s what his tweet on behalf of America to the U.S. ambassador of the United States was ‐ audacious) falls a bit short of fact. It was based on reports of Haley’s residence at the United Nations ...boodling on the grand scale... hanging curtains valued at $52,701 ‐ reports that led Democrat Rep. Ted Lieu to tweet, "this is not okay" and to call for "an oversight hearing on @StateDept spending on @nikkihaley and her deputy."
Turns out: Haley didn’t buy those costly curtains.
Barack Obama They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them... ’s State Department did. A spokesperson for Haley pointed to the purchase being made back in 2016 ‐ but apparently, Hogg didn’t get the memo.
Ooops.
And as Kyle Kashuv, another student from Parkland, put it beneath Hogg’s own tweet of the matter: "Holy cow. You’re dumber than I thought. You didn’t even bother to read the article."
But don’t expect an apology from Hogg any time soon. His sort ‐ his hyper-partisan, hyper-leftist, hyper-hate-filled ‐ never do.

Surely some Hollywood producer is working on a biopic script as we speak. Sad thing is Leo DiCaprio is way to old to play him in the movie.

Samantha Shanty Irish Power ordered them. Gotta love this part:

It seems that young Hogg is opinionated but not well-informed.

Can we arrange for Hogg and Schumer to both jockey to be in front of one camera and microphone? Sounds like an annihilation event (in the physics sense) to me...

Someone should ask Hogg how much tax money was spent to educate him, and how it was all wasted given he couldn't read an article for comprehension.
