The Mayor and Governor of Washington need to put a end to these riots. Put in a curfew, say sun-up to sun-down and arrest anyone wandering around after curfew. Sort them out later. If that doesn't work, bring in the National Guard and give them clear ROEs that include shooting rioters. These people are dangerous feral packs.

These idiots never learn. I mean it’s a freaking car. Nine times out of ten the driver has the upper hand.
I honestly don’t blame the driver. There’ve been enough of these incidents that went bad that I wouldn’t sit there either.
Of course, now the driver will likely be subject to harassment and death threats, as I’m sure they got the license tag and will probably show up at their home or something. I hope that’s not the case but it’s what I would expect.

The Wife I have discussed this scenario at length.
We agreed to the following, If no alternative unblocked safe route is possible.
1. Always have the front and rear DASH-CAM's working.
2. Use the horn to warn.
3. IF BOXED IN and/or SURROUNDED by a riotous mob. Slowly (coast) and carefully proceed to and thru the rioting mob.
4. If any Rioter/mob member jumps on the hood, roof or attacks the doors and/or windows, increase speed to 5mph and NOT stop until clear and safe. They will attack you break windows to get you and etc.
5. Once safely away from the scene call 9-1-1 and report the incident in great detail. Make sure to state 2 or 3x's "We feared for our Lives and safety while being attacked by this mob".
6. NOTE: Crosswalk laws only apply if the pedestrian is in the crosswalk with the Green OK to Cross light lit.
7. See your lawyer to counter-sue anyone suing you for 2x their amount. Frivolous Lawsuits counter suing.
Even the ACLU of Oregon is clear on the Traffic blocking Protests.A protest that blocks vehicular or pedestrian traffic is illegal without a permit.You do not have the right to block a building entrance or physically harass people. The general rule is that free speech activity cannot take place on private property, including shopping malls, without consent of the property owner.

One should just have a hack doctor's diagnosis handy. And some prescriptions for an ailment like 'panic attacks' or something. Situation in America being what it is, one's bound to find sympathy from the bench as a freak of some kind.

And if it's a problem for the witness, the driver could always tap the brakes so he rolls off the hood onto the ground in front of the car before punching it again.
Oh, and don't lose momentum or you may get stuck. A car can only apply about 1,000 pounds of forward force.

We know that mobs are blocking traffic, pulling people from their vehicles, robbing, assaulting and sometimes murdering them. Should be presumptively self-defense to run them over.

I am talking about escaping a trap - not using a vehicle as a weapon. Try not to hit people if possible, not only is that the right and potentially legal thing to do, if you start bopping people and get disabled you will be in quite the spot especially if the reports are accurate about chasers who will follow escapees:
Heavier objects, it may be better to approach then push rather than ramming.
If you have to ram something of substance, and you can, go in reverse and use the trunk so not to damage the engine. Learn to do a quick 180 (I found it easier with a manual transmission, the auto took some practice).
Leave room between you and the vehicle in front of you so you have options.
Traffic laws are already broken. Not the time to worry about one-way streets, driving on sidewalks or off road such as the area between interstate directions. Do try to keep with normal traffic patterns as best as possible: approach Stop and Yield and Controlled intersections with caution - not the time to get T-Boned.
Don't get high centered.

I recall the halcyon days of Freknik in ATL I lived on 10th St across from Piedmont Park. The cops told me to drive the wrong way down one way streets to get out.
From Ngo there was an actual Molotov Cocktail thrown at police.
Not that half right one which hit Footloose the other week.
Looks like they got the formula right.
You can see one officer got a bit on his leg and the fire stuck. Luckily, the thrower didn't grow up as an American, playing baseball/basketball/football.

According to reports from al-Raqqa, the Syrian Arab Army sent reinforcements to the key town of ’Ain ’Issa, which has been targeted on a number of occasions by the Ottoman Turkish-backed forces.
The reason for the deployments is not known at this time; however, the Ottoman Turkish-backed forces have been increasing their hostilities east of the Euphrates, which threatens the government troops.
Furthermore, the Ottoman Turkish military and their allies have been monitored moving their forces to several areas east of the Euphrates, prompting the army to suspect a new offensive is coming.
The last major offensive conducted by the Ottoman Turkish-backed forces took place last September, when they entered northern al-Raqqa and al-Hasakah.
