[AmericanGreatness] There was once a tradition of Democratic liberalism. But that wing of the Democratic Party no longer exists and died sometime in the 1990s. Old-style liberalism has been absorbed by Progressivism at best and unapologetic socialism at worst—in a journey on the supposedly predetermined arc of history that bends toward 1984.
The new-old leftist aim is not to operate within either the existing parameters of the Constitution as written or the customs and traditions of America—a 150-year-long nine-justice Supreme Court, the Electoral College, a 50-state nation, a Senate filibuster, two senators per state, and a secure border. All are obstructions to the drive for power.
Given its redistributionist creed, socialism cannot afford to be patent and honest. If socialism were transparent, it never would gain majority support. Joe Biden cannot talk about the Electoral College or court packing, unequivocally condemn the violence in our urban centers, discuss the Green New Deal, name his likely Supreme Court appointments, be honest about his plans for fracking, or explain his views on the borders, because he is now owned lock, stock and barrel by the hard Left whose agendas were rejected even in his own Democratic primaries.

[Kunstler] History-the-trickster has paradoxically anointed the Great Disrupter, Mr. Trump, as the agent of order while the Democrats seek to bring chaos into every quarter of American life, a party of shrieking "Karens" and men acting like women. Such as: Tom Friedman of The New York Times mewling like a little girl to Anderson Cooper on CNN Thursday night that he was "living in terror," that "everybody should be terrified," because Mr. Trump "refuses to commit to accepting the election results."
Is that so? I think it was Hillary Clinton who declared just a few weeks ago that "Joe Biden should not concede the election under any circumstances" — for instance, the circumstance that he loses the election. Of course, Mr. Trump, troll supremo, is simply punking his adversaries by proposing to play fair, that is, to play by the same rules they play by. And this only causes the Democrats to retreat into the chaos that is their comfort zone, where they hop up and down like fourteen-year-old girls in a tantrum.
They are provoked, you understand, because Mr. Trump actually represents the thing they hate most: Daddy! Daddy’s in da house, the White House, as a matter of fact, and this baleful symbolic circumstance has driven the Democrats out of their gourds for four years, turning them into a party of hysterical women and men acting like hysterical women. Would you want to get on an airplane in bad weather piloted by a crew of hysterical women? That’s kind of the Big Question going into this national election 2020.

[FoxNews] Before the coronavirus pandemic, President Trump’s economic success blew past that of any other presidency
An important piece of economic news has been overshadowed recently due to the important coverage of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death and President Trump’s nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
Released two weeks ago, the Census Bureau’s report on “Income and Poverty in the United States” for 2019 clearly shows that, pre-pandemic, President Trump’s economic success blew past that of any other presidency.
First, the Census Bureau reported that real median household income grew to $68,703 in 2019, an impressive 6.8% increase over 2018. It was the largest one-year increase in median income on record going back to 1967. It was also 45 percent more growth in a single year ($4,379) than Obama/Biden produced in their entire 8 years in office ($3,021).
As was the case throughout Trump’s first three years, the economic benefits were widespread. While the overall growth rate was 6.8%, real median income grew by an even greater 7.9% for Black Americans, 7.1% for Hispanic Americans, and 10.6% for Asian Americans. All record highs as were the new income levels for each of these groups.
As for talking points about how the Trump tax cuts benefitted only the rich, well, they were false. As incomes grew in 2019, the poverty rate plummeted 1.3 percentage points to a 60 year low of 10.5%. This was the largest reduction in poverty in over 50 years. It lifted over 4.1 million people out of poverty, the largest yearly decrease since 1966. Just for comparison purposes, over the Obama/Biden era, the number of people living in poverty increased by 787,000.
Minority groups again experienced the largest improvements. While the overall poverty rate declined 1.3 percentage points, Black poverty fell by 2.0 percentage points, Hispanic poverty fell by 1.8, and Asian poverty fell by 2.8. According to the White House Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) “the poverty rate fell to an all-time record low for every race and ethnic group in 2019.”
Child poverty decreased to 14.4 percent, the lowest child poverty rate observed since 1973 and down from 18 percent at the end of the Obama/Biden era. The best family welfare program truly is a job.
Let’s take a little broader view. Over the Trump administration’s first three years, between 2016 and 2019, real median household income increased 9.2% while the economy lifted 6.6 million people out of poverty. That’s the largest 3-year poverty reduction for the start of any presidency since the initial drop in 1964 when the War on Poverty began.
Since 2016, the economy has lifted 1.2 million black Americans out of poverty, the largest reduction on record for the first 3 years of any presidency.
How about the Democrats’ bugaboo “income inequality”? Surely with Democrats’ claims that Trump’s economic policies benefit only the rich, it must have increased. Well, it didn’t.
With incomes growing, income inequality declined for the second consecutive year as the share of income held by the bottom 20 percent of earners increased by 2.4 percent.
While COVID-19 impacted the Census Bureau’s data collection efforts, it found that the data quality met usual Census Bureau standards. According to the CEA, the Census Bureau’s research suggests that even taking potential issues with the response rate into account, “real median income still would have increased and poverty still would have decreased by large magnitudes.”
ZMan calls it like he sees it. Brutally.
[ZBlog] Steve Sailer famously quipped that political correctness is a war on noticing. By which he meant noticing human diversity. Initially, this started out as a war on noticing bad things about groups of people. Then it slowly evolved into prohibitions on noticing general differences between groups of people. After all, it was said, all people evolved from the same source. This process has continued to the point where it is now forbidden to notice anything about people.
A good example is in this tweet from the Journal of the American Medical Association, which is the premier peer-reviewed medical journal in the United States. Since the start of the Covid panic, it has been reported that blacks are more likely to contract the virus and more likely to need medical attention. This observation has been politicized, of course, but it is also a clue as to how the virus works. Naturally, there is money to find out why and scientific interest in the subject.
Given the racial unrest that has been manufactured by the nation’s elites, one would think that extra resources flowing into the care of black people would be celebrated by the great and good. If we are remaking movies, television shows and commercials to feature all black people, why not remake medical research too? As you can see from the replies, dogma trumps everything. While racism is a real thing, according to the one true faith, race is imaginary and racist.

The other salient issue is the panic that radiates from the replies. The mere mention of disconfirming data causes these people to panic. Their complaint is not about factual accuracy or medical efficacy. These are people deeply committed to a primitive animistic religion. This religion tells them that the world is controlled by various spirit forces, good and evil, engaged in a great struggle. Most important, their role in this great struggle is to fight the evil spirits.

The very first reply is emblematic of the modern age. It is from someone calling herself Rose Marie Leslie, MD. She claims to be a medical resident. On her twitter profile she lists the following: Top 20 docs on Social Media, Tiktok, Health Ed, Social Justice, Black Lives Matter and Repro Health. As if that was not enough self-parody, her comment was “Why are you spending the time and money on these studies instead of spending the time and money on fighting racism?”
