Taliban kidnap six Afghan journalists
[DAWN] Taliban
...Arabic for students...
kidnapped six Afghan journalists working for private and government media organizations in eastern Paktia province, government officials and Taliban said on Saturday.

The news hounds, working for radio and TV news companies that broadcast news in the Pashto and Dari languages, were kidnapped while travelling together from neighbouring Paktika
...which coincidentally borders South Wazoo...
province to Paktia to attend a media workshop on Friday.

"We are trying to negotiate their release with the Taliban," said Abdullah Hasrat, a front man for Paktia's governor.

A Taliban front man confirmed the abduction of six journalists by their fighters but said they will be released soon.

"Yes, our mujahideens [fighters] have mistakenly kidnapped them," said Zabihullah Mujahid, a front man for the group.

"Right now mobile services are not working, but they will be released as soon as we establish contact with the local commander," he said.

Afghanistan was the deadliest country in the world to be a journalist in 2018, with 13 deaths according to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ). The International Federation of Journalists said 16 journalists were killed last year.

In June, the Taliban issued a threat to Afghan media, saying journalists will be targeted unless news outlets stop broadcasting what they describe as government propaganda against the bully boys.

4th person sentenced in plot to bomb US Muslim community
[IsraelTimes] Vincent Vetromile gets 7 years in jail, a month after his 3 accomplices in planned terror attack on New York community of Islamberg got 4-12 years.

The last of four young men who US authorities say planned to use homemade explosives against an upstate New York Moslem community has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Twenty-year-old Vincent Vetromile appeared Tuesday in Monroe County Court. He had pleaded guilty in June to a weapons charge.

Vetromile, 20-year-old Brian Colaneri, 19-year-old Andrew Crysel and a 16-year-old were accused of planning an attack on Islamberg, a community of about 200 people in Delaware County.

Colaneri and Crysel were sentenced last month to four to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to terrorism conspiracy. The youngest defendant, who’s now 17, was sentenced to seven years.

Investigators said the Rochester-area residents had access to 23 rifles and shotguns and three homemade explosives when they were arrested in January.

It was a lunchroom comment by one of the students during school that launched the investigation.

"He looks like the next school shooter, doesn’t he?" the student allegedly said while showing students a picture of another boy on his phone, according to Phelan.

A student who heard the comment "did what we teach kids to do and told somebody," the chief said.

School security and Greece police interviewed both students and others and eventually uncovered their plot. The timing of the attack was unknown.

The rural community in Delaware County is operated by The Moslems of America, an American Moslem organization based in the US, which runs 21 others in North America. It was settled by followers of Pak holy man Sheikh Mubarik Gilani.
...more formally Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, who served as the imam of the Yasin Masjid in Brooklyn before becoming too important for such petty considerations...
The mostly African-American settlers first came to the area in the 1980s to escape crime and crowding in New York City.
...Moslems of America (MOA), also known in English as Muslims of the Americas when they are talking about their Canadian and Caribbean ventures, and formally as The Muslims of America, Inc. (TMOA). The estimated 3,000 member group is one of the American front groups of Jamaat ul-Fuqra or Jamaat al-Fuqra, the other being Quranic Open University. Jamaat ul-Fuqra absorbed the Black Muslim street gang known as Dar al-Islam (DAR), was listed as a terror organization by the State Department in 1999, and is banned in Pakistan. The Wikipedia page is quite interesting...
Police and analysts have dismissed accusations that the 60-acre community is a terrorist training ground, but the claims have persisted for decades.

#2  That last sentence is a doozy. From what I recall, "police and analysts" aren't exactly aware of what goes on in the various Islambergs around the country, except they know felons circulate in and out of them.

FO summons Indian envoy, condemns LoC ceasefire violations
[DAWN] The Foreign Office (FO) on Saturday summoned Indian Charge d` Affairs Gaurav Ahluwalia to lodge a protest against "unprovoked ceasefire violations" by the Indian army.

According to a statement issued by the FO, "Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr Mohammad Faisal summoned Indian Charge d` Affairs Gaurav Ahluwalia today and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces along the Line of Control (LoC)."

The director general urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 ceasefire arrangement. He said that the Indian side should permit UNMOGIP to play its mandated role as per the UN Security Council resolutions.

According to the statement, in the most recent ceasefire violations on September 6 in Khuiratta sector of the LoC, the Indian forces deliberately targeted innocent civilian participants of peaceful rallies organised to show solidarity with the people of India-occupied Jammu and Kashmir

After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
"Four innocent civilians, Iftikhar, 35, son of Feroz, Raheel, 20, son of Zameer, Farhan, 20, son of Mehmood and Adeel, son of Mehmood, sustained serious injuries," said the FO statement.

"The Indian occupation forces along the LoC and Working Boundary have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars, and automatic weapons, which still continues," it added.

Israeli jets strike Hamas in Gaza after armed drone attack
[IsraelTimes] IDF says "military centers" for aerial operation targeted in bombing raids on enclave hours after Paleostinians pilot armed drone into Israel.

Israeli jets struck three Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, targets in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip on Saturday night, the Israeli military said, in retaliation for Paleostinian turbans piloting an armed drone over the border earlier in the day.

The targets, in northern and central Gaza, included an equipment depot for naval warfare, and two "military centers" for Hamas’s aerial system, the Israel Defense Forces said.

"The IDF will continue to act against attempts to harm Israeli citizens, and holds the Paleostinian terror group Hamas responsible for everything that takes place in the Gaza Strip, and which emanates from there," the military said in a statement.

Earlier Saturday, Gaza turbans piloted an armed drone into Israel, the IDF said. It did not specify if the explosive detonated, but said a military vehicle was lightly damaged in the incident.

The IDF said it shot up the cell responsible for the drone. No Israeli soldiers were hurt and there were no immediate reports of Paleostinian injuries.

The Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s came hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Hamas that Israel would respond forcefully to any attempt to harm its citizens and soldiers, following two days of violent incidents on and near the Gaza border.

"Hamas is responsible for all aggression emanating from the Gaza Strip. Any attempt to harm our citizens and our soldiers will be met with a forceful response," Netanyahu said in a statement.

Residents of the Eshkol Regional Council in southern Israel were warned that any explosions they hear were part of Israeli military activity in the area, Hebrew-language media reported.

The weekend saw a string of violent incidents along the Gaza border, after several weeks of relative calm.

On Friday night, incoming rockets set off sirens in Israeli communities along the Gaza border. The IDF said it had identified five projectiles that had crossed the border into Israeli territory.

Israeli artillery and aircraft attacked several military targets belonging to the Hamas terror group in the northern Gaza Strip in retaliation, the IDF said.

The exchange of fire came hours after two Paleostinian teens were reportedly killed in festivities with Israeli troops along the border, in what the IDF called "especially violent" riots.

The riots were especially violent and included the throwing of a large number of bombs, hand grenades and Molotov cocktails at the fence and IDF soldiers, the army said, adding that there were extensive attempts to damage the border barrier.

The deadly festivities came just days after Israel lifted restrictions on fuel deliveries to Gaza, a week after curbing them by half due to rocket and mortar fire from the coastal enclave.

Since the outbreak of protests on the Gaza border last year, Israel has intermittently taken a number of steps to curb outbreaks of violence from the coastal territory, such as closing border crossings, cutting fuel shipments and reducing the permitted fishing area off the coast of the Strip. It has rolled back such moves following decreases in violence.
...an approach that is clearly not having a significant impact on Gazan behaviour.

Israeli teen badly hurt in West Bank stabbing attack after visiting dentist
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian dentist intervenes to help father and son escape; father says perpetrator asked if they were Jewish; attacker said to have surrendered to Paleostinian authorities.

The army on Saturday announced that an initial investigation into the stabbing of two Israelis, attacked after visiting a Paleostinian dentist earlier in the day in the West Bank village of Azun, was a terror attack.

"An assailant stabbed two Israeli civilians after they had entered Azun in order to receive medical treatment," the army said Saturday referring to a village east of Qalqilya in the north of the territory.

The victims were a 60-year-old father, Yosef Perez, who was lightly injured and his teen son, Liber Perez, 17, who was badly hurt.

Liber Perez sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body in the Saturday morning assault, while the father was lightly hurt on the arm.

The two, residents of the southern Israeli city of Ofakim, were visiting a local dentist for treatment along with the father’s brother when they were accosted by a young Paleostinian man, said to be a teen, who asked if they were Jews, they said later Saturday.

There were conflicting reports on how they responded. The uncle told Walla news that they replied in Arabic, telling the young man that they were not Jews, while the father told Channel 12 news that they replied that they were indeed Jewish.

Both said they suddenly spotted a knife in the assailant’s hand during the brief exchange.

The father told Walla news that he quickly alerted his brother as he tried to apprehend the attacker but was stabbed in the arm. "My son was afraid for me, he pushed me aside and he quickly jumped on him with his head down. [The attacker] took advantage of the position and began stabbing him in his back," Perez recounted.

The dentist, both men said, helped save them.

"The dentist helped us; he jumped on him and held him against the wall and hit him while we escaped," the father said.

"For a year now I have been coming to this dentist for treatment and everything was fine. I never thought something like this would happen," he went on.

The dentist, who gave his name as Dr. Amin, told Channel 12 in horror that the victims were attacked "inside my clinic... They are my patients."

The suspect is said to be a 15-year-old local resident. According to Paleostinian media reports, Israeli security forces arrested his father on Saturday. Some Hebrew media reports said earlier that the attacker had surrendered to Paleostinian authorities.

The injured father and son were brought by IDF medics to the Eliyahu border crossing and from there taken by the Magen David Adom ambulance service to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba for further treatment.

The teen was later listed in moderate but stable condition by the hospital.

Strip, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement.

"IDF soldiers a short time ago arrested three suspects that crossed the security fence in the south of the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory. The suspects were arrested after IDF forces encircled and scoured the area where they crossed. The suspects will be investigated by security personnel," the army said.

The IDF later said the suspects were 13-year-olds and had carried a knife with them.

Large number of Syrian military reinforcements head to northern Aleppo
[ALMASDARNEWS] A massive convoy of Syrian military reinforcements made their way to the northern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate today, a source from the army told al-Masdar News.
Gary Johnson: "Aleppo? What is Aleppo?"
According to the source, the Syrian military reinforcements consisted of several units from the National Defense Forces (NDF), primarily the troops from the Kafraya, Nubl, al-Zahra’a, and al-Fou’aa divisions.

These NDF divisions come from the predominately Shi’a towns in the Idlib and Aleppo Governorate; they were all previously besieged by Jabhat al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
(now Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
) and the Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) at one point.

The source added that the reinforcements were deployed to the Mennagh front, which is currently under the control of the Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG).

The Syrian Army is not at war with the YPG; furthermore, the reinforcements have more to do with beefing up their forces in areas where the Ottoman Ottoman Turkish-backed rebels are constantly attacking or threatening to attack.

Mennagh was captured by the YPG during their 2016 offensive against the Ottoman Ottoman Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) in northern Aleppo. Since then, they have shared control over some areas, including Tal Rifa’at, with the Syrian Army and National Defense Forces.

Hundreds of Russian troops allegedly deploy to Idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] Hundreds of Russian troops are being sent to the Idlib Governorate in northern Syria, the Russian publication Lenta.Ru reported this weekend.

According to the publication, hundreds of Russian troops belonging to the Yevgeny Prigoshin private military contractors were deployed to the Idlib Governorate, despite a pause in offensive operations.

“The plan is for groups of 50 people each, with the support of Russian aviation, to take part in street battles necessary to clear the populated city from thousands of militants associated with Al-Qaeda (banned in Russia),” Lenta.Ru reported.

“Today, Idlib is being kept under control only by the presence in the region of hundreds of thousands of civilians. Having evacuated them, the military operation against the militants can be continued, and in a completely different way,” they added.

As of now, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has paused all offensive operations in the Idlib Governorate as they adhere to a ceasefire that was proposed by the Russian Armed Forces.

However, this new ceasefire in the Idlib Governorate is contingent on Turkey dissolving the jihadist group Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.

While the Syrian Army has paused their ground offensive, they have not let up their artillery strikes on Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s positions in southern and western Idlib.

The Syrian Army is likely to resume their offensive if Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham remains at the front-lines in the Idlib Governorate, as they have refused all previous ceasefire deals.

Idlib ceasefire is set to end as Syrian troops gather in Al-Ghaab for new offensive
[ALMASDARNEWS] The short-lived Idlib ceasefire is coming to an end in the next 24 hours, al-Watan reported on Saturday morning.

According to al-Watan, the ceasefire brokered by the Russian Armed Forces was only a temporary measure that is set to end on Sunday morning.

The Syrian publication added that the ceasefire was repeatedly violated by the jihadists of Jabhat al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
(reference to Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
).

However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
a military source in Damascus said nothing is official as of yet and it is highly unlikely that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launches a new attack in the next few days.

The source says the Syrian Arab Army has already built up their forces around the al-Ghaab Plain’s southern region, as this is the location of their next offensive in northern Syria.

At the same time, the Syrian Army has also sent reinforcements to the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate; this offensive is supposed to be carried out in conjunction with the al-Ghaab operation.

In order for the Syrian Army to secure the northern region of al-Ghaab, which is currently under the control of groups like Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and the Hurras al-Deen group, the Syrian Army will have to capture the strategic town of Kabani and its surrounding hilltops.

Kabani overlooks much of the Death Eater-held areas in the al-Ghaab Plain, so capturing this town is a high priority for the Syrian Army’s high command.

Syrian Army launches heavy attack on militant positions in southern Idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is currently striking the Idlib Governorate, targeting a number of areas under the control of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
According to a military source in the Hama Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army launched a heavy attack in response to the jihadist assault that was launched on their positions in the southern countryside of the Idlib Governorate.

The source said the Syrian Army is attacking a number of areas along the southern front of the Idlib Governorate, including the town of Ma’ar Tahramah.

The Syrian Arab Army would also attack several sites controlled by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham in western Idlib; this includes the murderous Moslem stronghold of Kafr Nabl.

Earlier in the day, the jihadist rebels attacked the Syrian Army defenses in southern Idlib, prompting the latter to respond with a heavy barrage of artillery to deter any further strikes.

According to Syria-based al-Watan, the Russian-sponsored ceasefire in Idlib will expire tomorrow morning.

Once this ceasefire expires, the Syrian Arab Army is expected to resume their offensive operations along the Hama-Idlib axis.

The Syrian Army has already begun gathering their forces in the southern region of the al-Ghaab Plain; this is where the next offensive is expected to take place.

Syrian Army uncovers heavy weapons left behind in militant underground bases
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has been combing through the recently captured areas in northern Hama and southern Idlib as they look to secure these sites that were once under bully boy control.

Among the towns where the Syrian Army is spending the most time combing through are Kafr Zita and al-Latamnah; these two towns were the former strongholds of Jaish al-Izza in northern Hama.

In the town of al-Latamnah, for instance, the Syrian Army has uncovered a large network of tunnels and caves that were once used by Jaish al-Izza to store weapons and evade the military’s attacks.

The Syrian Army recently released a video from one of the caves used by Jaish al-Izza; it showed a 120mm artillery gun that was stored inside this former base for the bully boy group.

Iran says boat seized in Strait of Hormuz, Filipinos arrested
[DAWN] Iran seized a boat and arrested 12 Filipino crewmen as it busted a suspected fuel-smuggling ring in the Strait of Hormuz waterway on Saturday, state media reported.

State television aired footage of an orange and white tugboat docked at Bandar Abbas port, with at least three armed guards on board.

“Coast guards successfully seized a foreign ship in the Strait of Hormuz,” said Major Hossein Dehaki, the coast guard chief in the southern province of Hormozgan.

The boat — allegedly carrying contraband fuel — had 12 Filipino crew on board, and all of them were arrested, he told the television station.

Dehaki said the group was suspected of operating a fuel-smuggling ring and the confiscated shipment had been intercepted close to Sirik county in the Strait of Hormuz.

The seizure comes amid tensions in the Gulf after the United States unilaterally withdrew from a nuclear deal putting curbs on Iran's nuclear programme in return for relief from sanctions.

The escalation has seen ships mysteriously attacked, drones downed and oil tankers seized in the Strait of Hormuz — a chokepoint for a third of world's seaborne oil.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps detained a “foreign tanker” in Gulf waters on July 14 for allegedly smuggling contraband fuel.
