First Openly Transgender Army Officer Indicted for Trying to Give Soldiers' Medical Info to Russia
A federal grand jury in Baltimore indicted Jamie Lee Henry and his wife, Anna Gabrielian, on charges of conspiracy and wrongful disclosure of individually identifiable health information.
[FreeBeacon] The Army’s first openly transgender officer was indicted Thursday on charges of trying to provide American soldiers’ medical information to the Russian government.

A federal grand jury in Baltimore indicted Jamie Lee Henry and his wife, Anna Gabrielian, on charges of conspiracy and wrongful disclosure of individually identifiable health information. According to prosecutors, the couple met last month with an undercover FBI agent posing as a Russian diplomat and offered medical information from Fort Bragg, the home of the military’s elite Delta Force.

Gabrielian, an anesthesiologist at Johns Hopkins University, told the undercover agent during an Aug. 17 meeting that "she was motivated by patriotism toward Russia to provide any assistance she could to Russia, even if it meant being fired or going to jail," according to the indictment. Gabrielian gave the undercover agent medical information on a spouse of someone who works in the Office of Naval Intelligence, and "highlighted" a medical issue that "Russia could exploit."

Henry, a doctor at Fort Bragg, gave the undercover agent information on five patients at the military facility, according to the indictment, first reported by the Baltimore Banner.

Henry has been praised as a pioneer of the transgender movement after coming out as transgender in an interview with BuzzFeed News in 2015. Henry claimed to be the first known active-duty Army officer to come out as transgender, and the first to legally change their name while in service.

According to prosecutors, Henry told the undercover agent he offered to join the Russian military after the invasion of Ukraine, but was rejected due to lack of combat experience. Henry allegedly told the agent that he believed "the United States is using Ukrainians as a proxy for their own hatred toward Russia."

Gabrielian and Henry, who were married in 2015, also discussed a plan for their children should they be arrested. Gabrielian told the agent she wanted their children to "have a nice flight to Turkey to go on vacation because I don't want to end in jail here with my kids being hostages over my head."

#5  It has an anesthesiologist wife, Anna Gabrielian, who is also arrested. Suspect she was born in Russia and the instigator.
Gabrelian and Henry conspired to provide private health information of Fort Bragg and Johns Hopkins patients to the Russian government to demonstrate their access to that information on U.S. military and government personnel, their willingness to provide that information to Russia and the “potential for the Russian government to gain insights into the medical conditions of individuals associated with the U.S. government and military, to exploit this information,” according to the indictment.

Gabrielian told the agent during an August 17 meeting she was “motivated by patriotism toward Russian” and would “provide any assistance she could to Russia, even if it meant being fired or going to jail.” During the meeting, Gabrielian told the undercover agent “Henry, a military officer, was currently a more important source for Russia than she was, since Henry had more helpful information, including on how the U.S. military establishes an army hospital in war conditions and about previous training the U.S. military had provided to Ukrainian military personnel.”

Gabrielian met with the undercover agent again on August 24, according to the indictment. Gabrielian told the agent that “though Henry was a ‘coward’ and concerned about violating HIPAA by providing records” to the agent, “Gabrielian had no such concerns and violated HIPAA ‘all the time.’ Gabrielian further told the UC she would check with Henry about providing medical records from Fort Bragg patients and get back in touch.”

'Beat them until they bleed:' Ex-NYPD cop Michael Valva stands trial in death of 8-year-old son
[NYPOST] Ex-NYPD cop Michael Valva put his children through years of hellish abuse — culminating in the 2020 freezing death of his autistic 8-year-old son, prosecutors alleged Wednesday during opening statements at his murder trial.

Little Thomas Valva and his 10-year-old brother Anthony were bruised, starved and forced to sleep on dog pads by their dad and his then-fiancée Angela Polina, Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney Laura Newcombe told jurors, according to Newsday.

"I will beat them until they bleed," Valva allegedly once texted Polina about the boys, Newcombe said. "It is the only thing that works."

The brothers, both of whom had special-needs, were so badly neglected that officials at their schools said they would arrive for class in soiled clothing and dig through the garbage for food, the prosecutor said.

"They were observed at school literally eating crumbs off the floor," Newcombe said in the Riverhead courtroom.

Valva, 43, initially claimed his young son fell and hit his head during a 911 call on Jan. 17, 2020. Prosecutors say the boy was forced to spend the night locked in an unheated garage at the Central Moriches home the disgraced cop shared with his fiancée.

Thomas died due to extreme hypothermia after spending up to 16 hours inside the garage with his brother, authorities said.

Valva and Polina are both charged with second-degree murder and endangering the welfare of a child in the case and are being tried separately.

Prosecutors said the abuse of the boys began right after the couple moved into the home at 11 Bittersweet Lane in 2017, along with Polina’s three daughters.

In court Wednesday, one of Valva’s lawyers blamed Polina for Thomas’ death.

Attorney Anthony La Pinta told jurors that his client, emotionally and financially drained after a costly divorce, looked the other way to maintain his relationship with Polina.

"He tried his best to salvage the relationship," La Pina said. "Eleven Bittersweet Lane was becoming more bitter by the day."

He said Polina even griped that Valva was "making it too comfortable" for his kids.

He said Valva provided the boys with mattresses, blankets, books and a TV set, but claims Polina would not allow them to keep the items after they soiled themselves.

"This was not a senseless act of evil," La Pinta told jurors. "You need to think with your heads and not with your hearts."

Valva faces up to life in prison, if convicted.

Some 36 witnesses are reportedly expected to testify. It’s now anticipated that Valva will take the stand during the trial, which could last approximately three weeks.

Rapper Coolio aka Artis Leon Ivey Jr., departs this earthly ball
[Breitbart] Iconic Grammy-winning rapper Coolio, most famous for his hit song "Gangstas Paradise," died on Wednesday while visiting his friend in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, Coolio, real name Artis Leon Ivey Jr., went into the bathroom at his friend’s house and did not come out until he was found dead lying on the floor.

Coolio’s longtime manager, Jarez, says Coolio went to the bathroom at his friend’s house, but when he didn’t come after a while ... the friend kept calling for him, and eventually went in and found Coolio laying on the floor.

We’re told the friend called EMTs, who arrived and pronounced Coolio dead on the scene — and Jarez tells us the paramedics suspect he suffered cardiac arrest. An official cause of death has not been determined.

Coolio launched to international stardom in 1994 when his song "Gangstas Paradise," for the Michelle Pfeiffer-starring vehicle Dangerous Minds, became a chart-topping pop culture sensation, staying at number 1 for three weeks. He also provided the intro song for the Nickelodeon show Kenan and Kel.

She's back on the market, boys
[NYPOST] MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of the billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, filed for divorce for a second time Monday, according to a report.

Scott, a billionaire philanthropist herself, is ending her marriage to former science teacher Dan Jewett less than two years after the pair quietly wed in March 2021, according to a court filing obtained by the New York Times.

Jewett — who taught at the prestigious school Scott and Bezos’ children attended — did not contest the divorce, according to the documents. A prenuptial agreement had already assigned who will get what in the divorce.

Intense video shows devastating impact of Hurricane Ian on Fort Myers

[NYPOST] The idyllic coastal town of Fort Myers, Florida now looks like it has fallen into the ocean as floodwaters from Hurricane Ian engulfed the city Wednesday.

The water is rising so quickly footage from the same camera just an hour apart shows it becoming submerged.

In the first video, the camera positioned six feet above the ground at Lani Kai Resort resort shows fast-moving water flooding the street with garbage floating away.

An hour later, the camera was inundated with water and at times fully submerged.

The footage shows extremely rough waves flooding what was once a street. It’s unclear how long the camera will continue to hold on. Other videos posted on social media showed houses flooded, downed power cables sparking fireballs and evenb sharks swimming in the flood waters.

#1  When you train up against the very limits of human capacity guy will always try to look for a way to get better, and just exercise will not do it. We see it in pro athletes, Olympic athletes, and in top tier Military. This issue is not a Seal issue, its a leadership issue. Leaders are ignoring it and need to address it. Drug testing is only a slice. Med screening for their health, training for the instructors to recognize the human limits in the individual and intervene when appropriate without being retaliatory is important.

Afghanistan
Taliban Arrests Married Couple After a Year of Eloping
[KhaamaPress] The Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
arrested a married couple — a man who eloped with a betrothed woman with her consent a year ago — said the Taliban security officials in the northern Afghan province of Balkh.

The man and woman in question were arrested on Tuesday, the 27th of September, in the Dihdadi area of Balkh province on accusations of fleeing their home, according to Mohammad Asif Waziri, the spokesperson for the Taliban Balkh Police.

The Taliban front man said that the man, Jawid, eloped with an engaged girl, Dilbar, who goes by the name of Fatima, from her uncle’s house around one and a half years ago.

According to the Taliban official, the girl is from the Baba Kohna region of Dihdadi district of Balkh province in the north of Afghanistan.

The woman was allegedly engaged to another man against her will, while according to Taliban official, Waziri, she bravely ran away from home on her own accord.

The Taliban police in Balkh province said that the elopement case of the young couple has been sent to the relevant judicial organs for further action.

Human Rights Watch reports show that up to 70% of incidents of "running away" from home are connected to escaping forced marriage or domestic violence, which Afghan women have been subjected to both.

Following the Taliban’s return to Afghanistan, several draconian decrees are made that severely restrict women’s rights, notably their freedom of movement as they are not allowed to travel without a male escort, or mahram.

4 Arrested for Selling Young Girl in Northeast Afghanistan
[KhaamaPress] The Taliban
...Arabic for students...
arrested 4 people — 3 men and 1 woman — on charges of selling a maiden of tender years in the northeastern Afghan province of Takhar, said local Taliban authorities.
"We had a permit!...And a Fatwa!"
Abdul Mubin Safi, the Taliban government’s spokesperson in Takhar province, said that four people forced a maiden of tender years to be sold against her will without her family’s knowledge for money.

The Taliban spokesperson continued by stating that these four people were arrested on Tuesday, September 27, by members of the crimes branch after conducting a comprehensive investigation and with the cooperation of locals.

Safi claims that the four persons who were detained have been charged with selling a young woman and that the case has been sent over to the Taliban-run judiciary for further action.

Previously, Taliban forces in Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
province, in western Afghanistan, arrested a man for allegedly trying to sell his mother for a price of 450 000 Afghanis.

As the Taliban took power in Afghanistan last year, there was an upsurge in reports of family members, including daughters, wives, and parents, selling their children to survive.

Afghanistan is presently experiencing the worst levels of hunger, starvation, despair, unemployment, and poverty, in addition to the deterioration of women’s rights and the "worst humanitarian crisis on Earth."

The Taliban also dissolved the two organizations that dealt with forced marriages and underage marriage, violence against women, and other related issues, the Ministry of Women Affairs and the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission.

#1  When the Taliban killed or jailed or dissolved every agency of free speech, destroyed or took over communications and mulla-ed up everything, how is the Khaana Press still churning out stories of 'oh the humanitarian crisis'? Where are these reporters and how are they allowed to say things like 'since the Taliban took over'?

Or is it part of the Taiban establishment now; titilating, enticing that liberal humanist ideal everywhere to start giving a fcuk. Eventually everyone rushes to 'help', pouring in aid, whining at the UN and finally that bastard Suhail Shaheen recognised as permanent representative just to open a 'meaningful dialogue' with sasquatch land.

Of course, we must follow these developments, keep track of all these agents of daily despair no matter how ugly it all is. But I'll just say this... are folks ready to sell their children for food really the part of humanity anyone
should give a fcuk about?

Fifth Column
Former Los Alamos nuclear scientists aid China's advanced weapons, private study says
A week old but still important.
[WashingtonTimes] The Chinese government targeted scientists at the Los Alamos nuclear laboratory for recruitment, with more than 160 researchers returning to China over more than three decades to help nuclear and other advanced weapons programs there, according to a new report by a private security and intelligence firm.

According to the report released Thursday by Strider Technologies, between 1987 and 2021, an estimated 162 scientists who once worked at Los Alamos returned home to China and took part in a variety of domestic research and development programs.

"Former Los Alamos scientists have made, and continue to make, considerable contributions to the PRC hypersonic, missile and submarine programs that present an array of security risks for the United States and the entire free world," says the 32-page report, "The Los Alamos Club: How the People’s Republic of China Recruited Leading Scientists from Los Alamos National Laboratory to Advance Its Military Programs."

A total of 15 of the scientists were staff members at the Energy Department laboratory in New Mexico that designs nuclear weapons. Thirteen were recruited as part of Chinese government "talent" programs that hired overseas experts.

China’s program is called the Talent Superpower Strategy Program and is similar to Beijing’s Thousand Talents program.

The Justice Department has prosecuted about a dozen U.S. academics recruited under the Thousand Talents program for hiding Chinese funding and other connections to Beijing since 2018.

At least one of the returning scientists in "the Los Alamos Club" held a top-secret Q clearance granted to those with access to nuclear secrets.
