This "Stephen Ambrose" view of history is so dated and lame. So many Youtubers doing a fantastically better job. They really get down into the weeds with the source material and discover new things all the time, than the boring old stories we heard a thousand times already.
For example, here's the story of Japan fighting Italy in the Pacific Theatre - sounds unlikely, but incredibly combat did occur between these two nations in 1943. You ain't gonna hear Ambrose and PBS covering this. Find out the full story here:

[JPost] - The New York Board of Rabbis condemned recent protests in an Orthodox neighborhood in Brooklyn at which face masks were burned and at least one person wound up in the hospital after being beaten.
"We cannot defend individuals in our Jewish community who demonstrate a blatant disregard for the COVID-19 health protocols and endanger their lives and those of other people," the 750-member rabbinic group said in a statement Thursday, the New York Post reported.
"We are also appalled by the shameful behavior of those who burn masks or beat people who protest their non-compliance," the statement added.
The statement comes in the wake of several nights of protests in the heavily Orthodox Brooklyn neighborhood of Borough Park against measures the city and state are taking to contain the spread of the coronavirus. At one protest, the brother of Mordy Getz, a well-known Orthodox businessman who had been outspoken about the need for masks and social distancing, was beaten and had to be taken to the hospital. A reporter and a cameraman were also the targets of violence. Haredim: the form is, superficially, Jewish - but the content is a weird mixture of Idolatry & Islam.

when will architects take into account the abilities of fire departments to deal with fires in such structures.
The same day Appliance Manufacturers take into account Maintenance and Installation.
Fires on the Windward Side easily jump floors, the wind pushing into balconies, repeat. That fire pressure has to go somewhere and the more 'fire resistant' the apartment the more that exhaust has to go into the wind.
It is a science, but it is also crazy counter-intuitive at times.

An array of liberal Jewish groups signed a letter with other faith-based organizations appealing to senators not to confirm President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett, citing her past opposition to the Affordable Care Act.
The letter, signed by 41 groups in all — and spearheaded by the National Council of Jewish Women — notes a case upcoming on the Supreme Court docket that could dismantle the act, also known as Obamacare.
President Donald Trump, who wants the legislation dismantled, has said he will replace some of its provisions, including guaranteeing coverage to people with preexisting conditions, but he has not yet advanced legislation that would do so.
"Should the ACA be struck down, tens of millions of Americans will immediately lose access to coverage as an unprecedented health crisis rages on, plunging our entire health care system into confusion and chaos," said the letter sent Friday to all 100 senators. "People of faith refuse to remain idle while the health, safety, and lives of countless individuals are on the line and believe that our next Supreme Court justice must commit to upholding precedent affirming the constitutionality of the ACA."
The letter concludes by saying that Barrett would run counter to the example set by Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Jewish justice who died last month and whom Barrett would replace.
In addition to NCJW, the 17 Jewish groups signing the letter include a number of Reform and Reconstructionist movement bodies, in addition to Jewish human rights advocacy groups.
In a separate statement this week, the Reform movement said it opposed Barrett’s nomination because of what it described as her stated opposition to the ACA, the right to an abortion and LGBTQ rights. The Reform movement has rarely opposed Supreme Court nominees in the past.

[Forbes] The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against Yale University, alleging it violated civil rights law by discriminating against white and Asian-American students in its admissions process, in the latest step President Donald Trump’s administration has taken in opposition to affirmative action.
KEY FACTS
The DOJ filed the lawsuit Thursday in federal district court in Connecticut, where it claimed that Yale’s "oversized, standardless, intentional use of race has subjected domestic, non-transfer applicants to Yale College to discrimination on the ground of race."
Yale has been under investigation by the DOJ since 2018, after a complaint was filed by the Asian American Coalition for Education claiming discrimination in Yale’s admissions process.
In August, the DOJ said its probe found that race was a "determinative factor" in hundreds of admissions decisions per year, and it asked that Yale submit a plan within two weeks describing how it would eliminate race and national origin from its admission process.
Yale President Peter Salovey responded at the time by saying that Yale would not comply, arguing that the DOJ’s demand would actually put the university at odds with existing law.
The Wall Street Journal first reported the lawsuit Thursday.
Yale did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Forbes.
CRUCIAL QUOTE
"Because Yale claims that its race discrimination is necessary to admit sufficient numbers of racially-favored applicants, mostly Black and Hispanic applicants, Yale signals that racially-favored applicants cannot compete against Asian and White applicants," the lawsuit said, according to the Journal. "This kind of race discrimination relies upon and reinforces damaging race-based stereotypes."
KEY BACKGROUND
In 2017, the Civil Rights Division of the DOJ announced it would investigate and file lawsuits against universities using race as part of admissions. That move was followed up in 2018, when the Trump administration rescinded a policy put in place under President Barack Obama calling for race to be a considering factor in college admissions. The Trump administration has also pushed to end the consideration of race in admissions at Harvard University, while the Department of Education sent a letter to Princeton University last month demanding documents in order to inspect whether the elite university engages in discriminatory practices.
