[ToloNews] Six members of the People’s Peace Movement, who were kidnapped earlier this morning in Pashtun-infested Logar province, have been released, say PPM spokespeople.
The kidnapped members were traveling to a peace gathering in the Sharak area of Pul-e-Alam, Pashtun-infested Logar’s capital, according to Bismillah Watandost, a front man for the People’s Peace Movement.
Earlier, Watandost reported that the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... was responsible, and they had taken the abductees to an ’unknown place in Pashtun-infested Logar province.’
The People’s Peace Movement started in 2018 and gained international attention when members began a march from Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... to Kabul pledging to personally deliver a demand for peace to both the Afghan government and the Taliban. The movement has undertaken more marches since, and its members have been kidnapped before.

[AnNahar] An Iraqi man has been charged in Australia with people trafficking in connection with the drowning deaths of more than 350 asylum seekers in 2001, police said Saturday.
Maythem Radhi, 43, was arrested at Brisbane airport late Friday after being extradited from New Zealand and has been charged with "organising groups of non-citizens into Australia".
He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
Police claim he was part of a syndicate that charged 421 mostly Iraqi and Afghan refugees for a place aboard an Indonesian fishing boat known by Australian authorities as SIEV-X in 2001.
The vessel sunk in the Indian Ocean while en route to Australia's Christmas Island, leaving 353 people dead, 146 of them children.
"Police will allege in court that the man, then aged 24, took payments from the passengers," the Australian Federal Police said in a statement on Saturday -- exactly 18 years after the disaster.
"It will also be alleged that he helped facilitate the transportation and accommodation of people in Indonesia in preparation for their journey to Australia," they added.
Radhi is the third person to face court for their role in the disaster.
Iraqi people smuggler Khaleed Shnayf Daoed was extradited from Sweden to Australia in 2003 and received a nine-year sentence two years later, with prosecutors portraying the then 36-year-old as a key organiser for Egyptian people smuggler Abu Quassey.
Quassey was convicted in Egypt in December 2003 of causing death through negligence and was sentenced to seven years in prison.
Radhi is expected to appear in court later this month.

[Rudaw] At least 1,600 Syrians have arrived to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq since Tuesday, according to the UN.
In a Friday statement, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) spokesperson Andrej Mahecic said the refugees fleeing the conflict between The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... and Kurdish forces in northeast Syria are going to the Bardarash camp.
"As of this morning, over 1,600 Syrian refugees have been transported from the border areas to Bardarash refugee camp," Mahecic said. "Refugees mainly come from towns in northern Syria - Kobani, Amoda and Qamishly and surrounding villages."
Turkey began Operation Peace Spring in northeast Syria on October 9 with the goal of setting up a "safe zone" free of the US-backed Kurdish group the People’s Protection Units (YPG), which Turkey considers a terrorist organization. Turkey also hopes to use its Syrian rebel allies to carve out areas for the 3,000,000 Syrian refugees in Turkey to resettle, which some Kurds say amounts to forced demographic change in the mixed Kurdish, Arab and Christian area.
The operation has also killed more than 200 civilians and displaced around 300,000 people.
The new Syrian Kurdish refugees are from vulnerable populations, according to the UNHCR.
"Most of the new arrivals are women, children and elderly," said Mahecic.
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has a slightly higher figure for the number of refugees who have come in since Turkey’s intervention. In a Friday tweet, the KRG’s Joint Crisis Coordination Center said the 2,331 refugees have arrived since Tuesday. The Kurdistan Region is already hosting 226,336 Syrian refugees who fled earlier on in the eight-year-long civil war, according to the center.
NGOs are also leaving northern Syria, citing security concerns and logistical difficulties. Their exodus is making it harder to provide aid to the hundreds of thousands displaced by the fighting.
Due to the Ottoman Turkish incursion into Northern Syria, more than a dozen international NGO have left the area.
However, we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by... the International Committee of the Red Thingy (ICRC) confirmed to Rudaw that their office in the Hasakah province is still open, and they are still working in northeast Syria
"We have an office in Hasakah city, covering the 3 governorates of northeast Syria," said ICRC’s Spokesperson for the near and Middle East Sarah Alzawqari. "So far, we have not reduced our presence and have been adapting our response to meet urgent humanitarian needs arising from the hostilities."
ICRC also confirmed that they are still operating in the al-Hol camp for Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS ...embracing their inner Islamic Brute... ) affiliated families and that ICRC hospitals and clinics are also running as normal.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish-backed Lions of Islam launched a surprise attack on the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) defenses near the Syrian-Ottoman Turkish border today in a bid to advance to the Tal Tamr District of al-Hasakah.Led by the so-called "Syrian National Army", the Ottoman Turkish-backed Lions of Islam attempted to crack the Syrian Army’s lines at northwestern Tal Tamr, despite the fact they are supposed to be adhering to a ceasefire in this border region.
However, it was a brave man who first ate an oyster... the Ottoman Turkish-backed Lions of Islam would eventually fall short of their plan to capture the town of Ahras, as the Syrian Arab Army was able to swiftly repel the attempted advance by these forces loyal to Ankara.
A source from the Syrian Arab Army told al-Masdar News that the military will likely beef up their defenses around Tal Tamr in order to prevent a similar attack in the future.
Lastly, he added that if the Lions of Islam attack again, the Syrian Army will likely have no choice but to get involved in the Ras al-’Ayn battle and drive back these Ottoman Turkish-backed forces.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish-backed murderous Moslems scored a new advance in the Ras al-Ayn countryside this week, despite an ongoing ceasefire agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
According to a report from northern Syria, the Ottoman Turkish-backed murderous Moslems attacked the Syrian Democratic Forces in the southern countryside of Ras al-Ayn this afternoon, seizing two towns after a short battle.
The report said the so-called "Syrian National Army" managed to capture the towns of Jan Tamr and al-Shakriyah following the SDF’s withdrawal towards the city of Ras al-Ayn.
This attack by the Ottoman Turkish-backed murderous Moslems was a violation of the fragile ceasefire agreement that was brokered by the United States after U.S. President Donald Trump ...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US... ’s meeting with his Ottoman Turkish counterpart His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important... .
[ALMASDARNEWS] A Ottoman Turkish Army helicopter crashed during an operation in the northern region of Syria on Friday, the Ottoman Turkish Defense Ministry announced this afternoon.
According to the Defense Ministry, the Ottoman Turkish chopper crashed down near the border city of Ras al-’Ayn in Syria’s al-Hasakah Governorate.
The reason for the Ottoman Turkish Army chopper’s crash landing was due to "technical reasons"; they pointed out that it was not do to enemy fire.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The historical city of Soor (var. Tyre) is witnessing a massive uproar in its streets, as demonstrators protest the Lebanese government and politicians.
On Saturday, the protests would turn violent as demonstrators were confronted by supporters of Harakat Amal, a Lebanese political party led by the veteran politician and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Knobby Berri Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, a member of AMAL, a not very subtle Hizbullah ...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory... sock puppet... The festivities reportedly broke out after videos posted on social media Friday showed demonstrators shouting accusations that Nabih Berri was a thief.
[ALMASDARNEWS] A fierce battle broke out this afternoon between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Ottoman Turkish-backed turbans near the border city of Ras al-’Ayn, a source from the military told al-Masdar from the al-Hasakah Governorate.
According to the military source, the festivities broke out when the so-called "Syrian National Army", a coalition of turban groups, attempted to advance into the Syrian Arab Army-held areas in the Tal Tamr District of the al-Hasakah Governorate.
The source said the festivities were most intense near the town of al-Ahras, which is located west of Tal Tamr.
This latest battle marks the first time during the Ankara-led Operation Peace Spring that the Syrian Arab Army and Ottoman Turkish-backed turbans have clashed near the border region.
Today’s attack by the turbans will likely force the entry of the Syrian Arab Army into the battle for Ras al-’Ayn, which is where the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are currently fending off the Ottoman Turkish-led assault.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has entered several towns in the northern region of Syria today as part of their agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
According to a military source in northern Syria, the Syrian Army enters four towns in the Tal Tamr District, extending its control over a large part of the Hasakah-Aleppo Highway (M-4).
Among the sites entered by the Syrian Army was Umm al-Khayr, which was one of the towns that was bombed by the Ottoman Turkish Air Force earlier in the day, the source told al-Masdar.
The Syrian Army also entered al-Salamas, Dshisha and Granada, which are all located in the western part of the Tal Tamr District.
This move by the Syrian Army is a precautionary action to prevent the Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces from expanding their presence into the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) areas in northern Syria.
The Ottoman Turkish-backed turbans have already captured several villages near the Tal Tamr District, putting them within striking distance of the Syrian Army’s positions.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Russian Air Force launched a large-scale attack on the Idlib Governorate today, targeting several sites in this jihadist-held region of northern Syria.
Led by their military aircraft, the Russian Air Force carried out an important attack on the jihadist-held Taftanaz Airbase, which has been used by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State... (previously Jabhat al-Nusra ...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ... ) as one of their main installations in Idlib.
According to a military source in the neighboring Latakia Governorate, the Russian Air Force carried out over ten Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s on the Taftanaz Airbase and its surroundings; this resulted in the destruction of several krazed killer sites and a reinforcement convoy that was preparing to head to the front-lines with the Syrian Army.
In addition to the strikes on the Taftanaz Airbase, the Russian Air Force also resumed their attack on the jihadist stronghold of Rakaya, which is believed to be home to one of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham’s main command centers in the southern region of Idlib.
The Russian Air Force has recently stepped up their attacks across the northwestern region of Syria amid reports of a new offensive that is going to be launched by the Syrian Arab Army and their allies in the Idlib, Hama, and Latakia governorates.

[Rudaw] Aid agencies were able to evacuate a number of maimed persons from the northern Syria’s Sari Kani (Ras al-Ain) on Saturday, but appeal for a humanitarian corridor into the town that is under control of Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian forces because there are still injured people waiting to be brought out.
The main hospital was damaged in the town that has seen the fiercest festivities between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Ottoman Turkish army with their allied Syrian militias. The border town is a focus of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor... ’s military offensive against the Kurdish-led force.
The Kurdish Red Islamic Thingy attempted to evacuate the injured on Friday, but was not successful. They were blocked on the way by Syrian militias, Rudaw’s Viviyan Fatah reported from Tal Tamr, where the medical convoy originated.
On Saturday they tried again, joined by the humanitarian group Free Burma Rangers and was able to reach the hospital when the militias held off their fire.
"The Free Syrian Army ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... , which works for the Turks, had been attacking us. They stopped. A way was open," explained David Eubank, founder of the Rangers. "We went in a line of ambulances along with our Free Burma Rangers ambulance. We got the patients out ‐ about 37 maimed ‐ out quickly, less than an hour," he explained to Rudaw in Tel Tamr.
Four bodies were also brought out of the town, but more are buried under rubble and "there are maimed people we could not reach," the Kurdish Red Islamic Thingy stated, appealing for a formal humanitarian corridor to be established.
At least 30 of the maimed were taken to Qamishli’s Farman Hospital. "We have taken out some of the people with serious injuries," said the Kurdish Red Islamic Thingy’s Dr. Dilgash in Qamishli.
Qamishli’s hospitals are so far able to cope with the influx of patients, "but if conditions worsen, we can send them to the Kurdistan Region," Dilgash said.
A 13-year-old boy with severe burns from a suspected chemical weapon attack in Sari Kani is being transferred to a hospital in Erbil for specialized treatment.
Dilgash said it was too early to tell if any of the injured newly evacuated from Sari Kani had been hit with chemical weapons.
The United States negotiated a pause in hostilities in Sari Kani on Thursday evening that gives the SDF five days to pull out of there and another border town, Gire Spi (Tal Abyad), hand over their heavy weapons, and move southward some 32 kilometres to the M4 highway, after which Turkey would commit to a full ceasefire.
Both sides have accused the other of violating the truce.
