[KhaamaPress] First Vice President said the Afghan government has been successful in testing tools that can repel the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... ’s thermal, night vision attacks.
Floodlights?
Saleh wrote on his Facebook page Sunday, that the National Security Council office will explain "how to use this tool" through video conferencing to the security forces.
1) Ensure consistent electricity source (that’s the hard part!)
2) Plug in floodlight
3) Turn on
4) Enjoy night visioneers’ screams of pain
The first vice president did not explain whether the repelling device was purchased by the government to protect security forces or was designed internally.
Recent reports indicate, that the Taliban are using night-vision thermal scopes on their snipers to target Afghan cops.
These scoping devices are capable of thermal weapon sight, night vision, laser markings, and can reportedly detect and hit a long-distance target.
Earlier, Faryab provincial governor, Naqibullah Fayeq said, that the Taliban had acquired reconnaissance drones to monitor the movements and checkpoints of security forces.
[IsraelTimes] Ali Riza Polat also accused of helping killers of a police officer and 4 hostages at kosher supermarket; resumption of trial dependent on test results of other suspects.
The primary suspect in a trial over the 2015 Charlie Hebdo ...A lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe... massacre has tested positive for coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... and the court has been suspended until Wednesday, lawyers said.
Ali Riza Polat is accused of having helped the killers of 12 people in the 2015 attack on satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, a female police officer a day later and four hostages at a Jewish supermarket.
He is facing the most serious charge of the suspected accomplices on trial — complicity in terrorist crimes — and could face life in jail if convicted.
The 35-year-old vomited and was seen by a doctor, prompting the judge to suspend the court until next week.
The 10 accused accomplices must now be tested and "the resumption of the trial will depend on the results of these tests and the development of the health of the people concerned," presiding judge Regis de Jorna said in an email to lawyers Saturday.
He urged everyone in court to observe social distancing, and insisted all participants must wear a mask.
The suspension of the hearing will delay the conclusion of the trial, which opened on September 2.
Defense lawyers were scheduled to plead on November 6, 9, 10 and 11 with the verdict expected on 13.
Fourteen people are on trial in the special terrorism court over their support for the jihadist trio who attacked in January 2015. All of the attackers were rubbed out by police.
Described as the "right arm" of attacker Amedy Coulibaly, Polat was born in Istanbul but moved to La Belle France when he was three and like Coulibaly grew up in the city of Grande Borne in Grigny, in the suburbs of Gay Paree.
La Belle France returned to lockdown on Friday after a sharp rise in coronavirus cases, in the latest measure to curb a disease that has infected more than 44.5 million people worldwide and killed nearly 1.2 million.

[Aljazeera] French President Emmanuel Macron says he understands the feelings of Muslims who are shocked by the displaying of cartoons of Prophet Muhammad but added that the "radical Islam" he is trying to fight is a threat to all people, especially Muslims.
Macron’s comments to Al Jazeera, in an exclusive interview to be aired in full on Saturday, come amid heightened tensions between the French government and the Muslim world over the cartoons, which Muslims consider to be blasphemous.
“I understand the sentiments being expressed and I respect them. But you must understand my role right now, it’s to do two things: to promote calm and also to protect these rights,” Macron said.
“I will always defend in my country the freedom to speak, to write, to think, to draw,” he added.
Macron also hit out at what he described as “distortions” from political leaders, saying people were often led to believe that the caricatures were a creation of the French state.
“I think that the reactions came as a result of lies and distortions of my words because people understood that I supported these cartoons,” the president said in the interview.
“The caricatures are not a governmental project, but emerged from free and independent newspapers that are not affiliated with the government,” he added.

[Jpost] He smashed the windows of the HaCarmel restaurant in Amsterdam in 2017 and in May 2020, holding a lighter, Het Parool reported.
A Dutch human resources firm has determined that a Paleostinian man who twice vandalized a kosher restaurant and tried to set it ablaze had terrorist motives.
The NTA firm on Wednesday determined that Saleh Ali,
...the self-described non-Jew-hating pro-Palestinian “activist“ who fought against ISIS in Syria before making his way to Amsterdam to apply for asylum and attack innocent Jewish restaurants for reasons that are never made clear...
an asylum seeker from Syria, indeed had terrorist motives when he smashed the windows of the HaCarmel restaurant in Amsterdam in 2017 and again in May 2020 while holding a lighter, Het Parool reported. NTA was hired by the Dutch government to determine Saleh’s motives in the attack and prosecutors have accepted the firm’s conclusion, Telegraaf reported.
Ali, 32, has not been convicted of a hate crime and served 52 days in jail for vandalism for the first attack, which he said he committed to avenge the moving of the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. NTA was hired to determine his motives in the second attack, for which he now awaits trial.
A former jihadist fighter in Syria, Ali remains at a psychiatric observation center, where he threatened a fellow resident who is Jewish with a billiard ball, the Het Parool report said.
News of the NTA findings provoked ridicule on social media.

[FUSION.INQUIRER] For many of the nearly 100 beauty supply stores in Philadelphia, it was another rough week. From Monday to Wednesday, thieves and vandals broke into at least 17 stores, making off with merchandise and even store fixtures. The losses were in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
In some cases, thieves struck again at shops that were damaged previously during a more widespread outbreak of looting that flared in May after police in Minneapolis killed a man there. The damage and theft this week erupted after news broke Monday of how police had shot and killed Walter Wallace Jr. in West Philadelphia.
"Some owners tried to call the police, but they didn’t respond," said Sharon Hartz, president of the Korean American Association of Greater Philadelphia, an advocacy organization for many of those who operate the supply shops. "A few had a chance to get police but when they came, they dismissed it. Groups of 20 to 30 people came to loot at a time. It was scary."

Racist mobs right? Sort of like when the mobs came for blacks in the old South and the authorities did nothing. It's not about 'social justice', its about power.
[Jpost] "We live in a time of rising antisemitism and terrorist attacks, which makes our responsibility as faith leaders greater, and even greater as Imams," the NGO said.
The Global Imams Council (GIC) adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism on Thursday, becoming the first Imams Council in the world to do so. This was just a few days after Albania became the first Moslem-majority country to adopt the definition.
The GIC is the world’s first and largest international non-governmental body of Moslem religious leaders from all Islamic denominations and schools of thought, with a rapidly growing number of over 1000 members worldwide, according to its website.
In a historic move, the GIC's Governing Board Senior Imams Committee and Advisory Committee passed on Monday a unanimous vote to adopt the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism.
"We live in a time of rising antisemitism and terrorist attacks, which makes our responsibility as faith leaders greater, and even greater as Imams," GIC's members stated, adding that they are "the first Imams Council in history to invite a rabbi to become a permanent member of its Interfaith board."
The IHRA definition adopted is as follows: "Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities."
The adoption of the IHRA definition, that took effect on Thursday, will be binding on all current and future members of the GIC, including all affiliate mosques, centers, institutes and organizations operated by the Imams of this council worldwide.
"The Global Imams Council is determined to strengthen the bridges of peace between Islam and all religions. We respect the beliefs and emotions of all people, and this is what makes us different from the Islamist turbans who have tarnished the image of our religion," GIC President Imam al-Budairi stated.
"We understand the importance of holy manal presence in these peace developments, and we thank the Office of the US Department of State’s Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism for this opportunity to create positive change."
"Our Council takes this opportunity to applaud the Moslem majority Albanian Parliament on adopting the IHRA definition of Antisemitism and becoming the first Moslem majority country to formally adopt the definition, and we invite leading organizations of the Moslem world and all other Imams Councils to adopt the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism and all examples underneath it," al-Budairi continued."I have received information that more important Imams Councils will follow suit," the well-known Australian "Imam of Peace" Mohamad Tawhidi told the Post.
The definition agreed by the IHRA, an inter-governmental organization including dozens of member countries, is an internationally agreed classification of antisemitism, that was already adopted by not less than 34 countries.
The story of the Global Imams Council dates back to 2014 when ISIS invaded Iraq and the government invited Shia and Sunni Imams to advocate for peace and to motivate the government forces liberating areas from ISIS control. After the collapse of ISIS — instead of dissolving — the imams merged with other councils of imams around the world, forming the Global Imams Council in 2018.

[AnNahar] A large quantity of dangerously stored diesel was confiscated Friday in Beirut’s Tariq al-Jedideh district, in a continued crackdown that began after a fuel tank blast killed several people and caused extensive damage.
In a statement, Beirut Municipality said a force from the capital’s fire and guard brigades seized 12 metallic barrels, six plastic tanks and four metallic tanks on the rooftop of a building in Tariq al-Jedideh’s Qasqas area.
The barrels and tanks contained around 11,900 liters of diesel.
The statement said the stockpile belonged to a firm working in the industrial and electric equipment field and that it posed a threat to public safety and the area’s residents.
