[ToloNews] Amid a dramatic surge in the level of violence in the country, Lt.Gen. John Deedrick, the commander of Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan (CSTC-A) on Friday said that the Taliban ...Arabic for students... violence is too high and that support for the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) will continue.
"The Taliban violence is too high and we are continuing to support the Afghan cops and the government, and we will defend the Afghan cops in accordance with the agreement," said Lt. Gen. Deedrick. "We do conduct strikes and operations in accordance with the US-Taliban agreement, and we will continue to do so."
In response to a question about the foreign forces withdraw from Afghanistan, Deedrick said the US forces withdraw will be done responsibly.
"The United States and NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... remain committed to support the government of Afghanistan. We remain committed to support the Afghan security ministries," he said.
On the closure of US military bases in Afghanistan, he said: "You know we have closed those bases... We are doing a responsible drawdown. We are down to about 4,500, but that still allows us to provide the type of support that we need to provide to the government and to the security forces."
He said the US has provided military equipment worth $600 million to the Afghan cops so far this year.
"We have provided as part of our commitment to both the government of Afghanistan and to the security ministries and the security forces just under 1,600 different types of vehicles, 250 Humvees. We have also provided about 1,600 night vision goggles, of course, about 10 aircraft helicopters and four fixed-wing airplanes," added Gen. Deedrick.
[ToloNews] The Afghan Army Chief Gen. Mohammad Yasin Zia on Friday said the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) have retaken the Arghandab district in the southern Kandahar province from the Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... days after the group attacked some areas in the district.
Zia told TOLOnews that at least 200 Talibs were killed in the operation against the group in the district.
Arghandab is one of the closest districts to the city of Kandahar, the center of the province. It was also one of the safest districts in the south before the Taliban launched an offensive two weeks ago.
Security forces however have said that civilians who were displaced from their homes in the district are faced with some problems to repatriate due to land mines planted by the murderous Moslems.
Despite the Taliban’s setback in Arghandab, Kandahar’s Panjwai and Zherai are still facing imminent threats from the Taliban.

Magarha --- Second largest tribe in Libya. Confused relationship with the government during Gaddafi’s term. "Originally from the heart of the country, many members have moved to the coast as the tribe has played an increasingly central role in politics. Their leader, Abdessalam Jalloud, was used to being called the second most important man in the country until he fell out with Gaddafi and turned against him. The tribe was quick to join the uprising in 1993 however, when the coup attempt against Gaddafi failed, they were able to maintain closer relations with Gaddafi following closed-door negotiations." Now are strong supporters of Haftar and likely are being funded by Egypt.

[LIBYAREVIEW] Six Libyans are wanted for questioning by the British Police investigating the Manchester Arena bombing, according to the BBC.The parents of the Libyan brothers responsible for the attack are both suspects, as are two associates.
One of the associates, who was arrested following the attack, was able to flee the UK, despite remaining a suspect and being charged with other offences. Two further men are of interest to the police but have not yet been questioned.
Salman Abedi detonated a bomb at the end of an Ariana Grande concert on 22 May 2017, killing 22 people and injuring hundreds. His younger brother Hashem, who was central to the attack, was enjugged Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit! this year after being convicted of murder.
Ramadan Abedi, father of the attackers, is wanted for questioning. This is after his fingerprints were found inside a car used by the brothers, to store explosives and bomb-making material.
The vehicle was owned by the brothers for two days, before travelling to Libya with their father in April 2017.
While in Libya, the car was parked outside the property of an associate, named Elyas Elmehdi, who is one of the four outstanding suspects.
On arrival back in the UK in May 2017, days before the attack, Salman returned to the vehicle to collect material from it. Police also wishes to speak to Samia Tabbal, the mother of Salman and Hashem, who is also currently in Libya.
Mohammed Soliman is another suspect. He purchased a bomb-making chemical for the brothers, but left Manchester for Libya in April 2017. The two other people that police want to trace are Majdi Alamari, who lives in Libya, and Anas Abuhdaima, whose location is unknown but is believed to be somewhere in the UK.

[EURASIANET.ORG] We were barreling toward Shusha, in Nagorno-Karabakh, and all along the roadside Armenian soldiers were digging trenches in apparent preparation for the defense of the road, the vital supply corridor for Karabakh’s embattled population.
Directly across the steep valley, the forests on the surrounding mountains were on fire, possibly the result of white-phosphorus shells dropped by Azerbaijani forces to try and flush out Armenian units who were using the forest as cover from drones. The soldiers on the roadside peered at the scene through binoculars, intently monitoring what seemed to be a developing situation in the valley.
One of the fellow journalists in our car had been here just two weeks before and said the situation had dramatically changed since then. "This feels different than last time," he said. "Let’s see what Stepanakert looks like."

[AlAhram] Two young men and a 17-year-old woman will be brought before a French judge Friday as part of the inquiry into the grisly killing of a teacher who showed students cartoons of the prophet Mohammed
Two young men and a 17-year-old woman will be brought before a French judge Friday as part of the inquiry into the grisly killing of a teacher who showed students cartoons of the prophet Mohammed, judicial sources told AFP.
The three suspects, who were detained Tuesday, face charges of "associating with terrorist criminals" following the death of Samuel Paty near his school in a Gay Paree suburb last month.
Paty, 47, was decapitated by an 18-year-old Chechen who responded to a social media campaign denouncing his use of cartoons re-published by the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo ...A lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe... as part of a class on freedom of expression.
His killing sparked a torrent of outrage that prompted President Emmanuel Macron to crack down on Islamist extremism and violence, in a country that has been hit with a wave of jihadist attacks since 2015 that have killed more than 250 people.
At least one of the two men, both 18, is suspected of having exchange text messages with Paty's killer, Abdullakh Anzorov, who was shot and killed by police after the attack.
They were detained in separate regions of eastern La Belle France, one source said, hundreds of kilometres from the Gay Paree suburb of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine where Paty was killed, and from the Normandy city of Evreux in where Anzorov lived.
Seven people have already been charged in the investigation of Paty's murder, including two teenagers aged 14 and 15 accused of pointing out Paty to his killer.
Also charged is a known Islamist radical who helped an outraged father of one of Paty's students stir up a campaign against him via social media.
The father has also been charged, as have three others accused of helping Paty carry out the killing.
Also Friday, prosecutors in the northern city of Cambrai said three more students, aged 15 to 17, were charged with "supporting terrorism" for threats made during a national homage to Paty on Monday.
Similar incidents were reported in several French cities by youths suggesting Paty had got what he deserved for showing the Charlie Hebdo cartoons which angered many Moslems and sparked furious protests in several countries.
Charlie Hebdo had republished the cartoons in September to mark the start of a trial for 14 suspects accused of complicity in the January 2015 massacre of 12 people at the paper's Gay Paree offices by two jihadist button men.
Education Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer told RTL radio Friday that some 400 similar incidents during Paty's homage had been reported, "some expressed mildly, others more forcefully".
But legal action is likely in only around a dozen cases, Blanquer said.

[IsraelTimes] The head of anti-terror operations in the Austrian capital Vienna was suspended Friday as details emerged of further security lapses in the run up to this week’s jihadist attack which left four people dead.
Erich Zwettler, the head of Vienna’s anti-terror agency, had "asked to be suspended from his functions," Vienna police chief Gerhard Puerstl told a presser, as further embarrassing revelations came to light of missed opportunities to prevent the bloodshed.
During Monday night’s rampage, the first major terror attack in decades in Austria, a 20-year-old man who had previously been locked away Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up! in Austria for a terror offense opened fire on passersby with a Kalashnikov in central Vienna, causing shock and anger.
Zwettler’s position became untenable in the light of "obvious and intolerable" failures, Interior Minister Karl Nehammer said, after revealing that gunman Kujtim Fejzulai had been in contact with people who had been on the radar of the German intelligence agencies.
A tip-off from German intelligence about these meetings had apparently not lead to increased surveillance of Fejzulai, who at the time was following an Austrian de-radicalization program having been released early from jail.
Earlier this week, it came to light Austrian intelligence officials had also been warned by their counterparts in neighboring Slovakia that Fejzulai had attempted to buy ammunition earlier this year.
Nehammer himself has come under pressure in the days since the attack with sharp criticism coming from opposition parties that the failures had taken place under his watch.
On Friday, the government ordered the closure of two mosques frequented by Fejzulai which had allegedly furthered his radicalization.
‘RADICAL’ MOSQUES
The dual Austrian-Macedonian, who was rubbed out by police, had been convicted in April 2019 for trying to join the Islamic State group in Syria, but released early in December on probation.
Nehammer said earlier this week that Fejzulai had managed to "fool" the de-radicalization program, attendance of which had been a condition of his release.
Integration Minister Susanne Raab said Friday that the government’s religious affairs office "was informed by the interior ministry that Monday’s attacker, since his release from prison, had repeatedly visited two Vienna mosques."
The two institutions are in Vienna’s western suburbs, one called the Melit Ibrahim mosque in the Ottakring district, and the other being the Tewhid mosque in the Meidling area.
The BVT domestic intelligence agency "told us that the visits to these mosques furthered the attacker’s radicalization," Raab said.
Only one of the mosques was officially registered as such, Raab said.

A Portland-area Muslim has been indicted for providing material support to ISIS. Hawazen Sameer Mothafar is accused of producing its propaganda including ones that teach how to use bombs. He's also accused of making false statements on his immigration docs https://t.co/EKuixJu3op
The Department of Justice announced that a federal grand jury in Portland returned a five count indictment against Portland resident Hawazen Sameer Mothafar, 31, charging two counts of conspiracy to provide material support to a designated terrorist organization and one count of providing and attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.
Mothafar had his initial appearance in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Jolie A. Russo yesterday. Due to the fact that Mothafar has physical disabilities and is confined to a wheelchair, the government did not seek detention. Rather, Mothafar was released on conditions including limitations on travel and the use of electronic devices.
According to the allegations contained within the indictment, between February 2015, and up to the time of arrest, Mothafar conspired with ISIS members to provide material support to ISIS. This support included a range of activities. Mothafar produced and distributed ISIS propaganda and recruiting materials that he created and edited in coordination with official ISIS media operatives located overseas. Mothafar produced, edited, and distributed a number of publications and articles including “Effective Stabbing Techniques,” which provided detailed guidance on how to best kill and maim a target in a knife attack, a tutorial on using explosive ignition devices entitled “How Does a Detonator Work,” and propaganda that encouraged readers to carry out attacks in their home countries if they could not travel overseas to fight. Mothafar also maintained contact with ISIS officials overseas and provided technical support to these individuals that included opening social media and email accounts for official use. During the time of this alleged activity, Mothafar also made false statements on immigration documents and to government officials denying any ties to terrorist organizations.
This case is being investigated by the FBI’s Portland Division and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Ethan Knight and Geoffrey Barrow with the assistance of Counterrorism Trial Attorney Alexandra Hughes.

[Jpost] Israel's Border Police stopped approximately 2,000 Paleostinians who were illegally in the Old City of Jerusalem on their way to the Temple Mount on Friday, according to the Israel Police Spokesperson's Unit.
The people were stopped as part of a joint operation by Border Police and Israel Police and was intended to round up Paleostinians who are illegally in Jerusalem and return them to Paleostinian territories on police busses.
The operation began Friday morning and continued into Friday afternoon.
The operation was part of wider efforts to prevent infiltration into Jerusalem of those attempting to pray in Jerusalem's Old City. Security forces fear that this illegal entrance for prayer was an opportunity for possible hard boyz to enter the city.
"He is suspected of links to the armed Palestinian group Islamic Jihad." There is no suspicion, he is a PIJ militant. The group's Secretary-General Ziad Nakhala referred to al-Akhras as a "mujahid" and warned of retaliation if al-Akhras died in Israeli custody. https://t.co/03R3tOB3yw
The West Bank dairy farmer was first detained back in July on suspicion of being a ’prominent Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... activist’; will remain in Israeli custody until November 26.
Al-Akhras, a 49-year-old dairy farmer from Silat al-Daher outside Jenin, has been arrested several times for alleged involvement in Islamic Jihad, according to the Shin Bet security service, which maintains he is a "prominent Islamic Jihad activist."
The Shin Bet declined to comment on the terms of the deal.
Al-Akhras was arrested under a controversial procedure known as administrative detention, which allows terror suspects to be held indefinitely without trial in renewable six-month terms. While detainees can appeal the detention itself to the High Court of Justice or lower district courts, the suspects do not receive formal charges, trials, or know the evidence against them.
Administrative detention is illegal under international law, but Israel makes extensive use of it against Paleostinians, as well as some Jewish Israelis, occasionally holding them for years without charges or a trial. Israeli security officials have defended the measure as a necessary tool to combat terrorist activity.
