Former Twitter employees charged in US with spying on accounts for Saudi Arabia
[France24] Two former Twitter employees and a third man were charged in San Francisco Federal Court Wednesday with spying on Twitter users critical of the Saudi royal family, the US Justice Department announced.

The two Saudis and one US citizen allegedly worked together to unmask the ownership details behind dissident Twitter accounts on behalf of the government in Riyadh and the royal family, the department said.
Failing to share can have consequences.
According to a court filing, they were guided by an unnamed Saudi official who worked for someone prosecutors designated "Royal Family Member-1," which The Washington Post reported was Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Those charged were former Twitter employees Ali Alzabarah and Ahmad Abouammo, along with Ahmed Almutairi, a marketing official with ties to the royal family.
We've never had any difficulty with these people previously. Strange, very strange.
"The criminal complaint unsealed today alleges that Saudi agents mined Twitter's internal systems for personal information about known Saudi critics and thousands of other Twitter users," said US Attorney David Anderson.

"US law protects US companies from such an unlawful foreign intrusion. We will not allow US companies or US technology to become tools of foreign repression in violation of US law," he said in a statement.

The lawsuit comes as US-Saudi relations continue to suffer strains over the brutal, Riyadh-sanctioned murder last year of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who wrote for, among others, The Washington Post.
beloved martyr of journalism Jamal Khashoggi
...who was simultaneously a very well paid Washington Post columnist and a long time propagandist for the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda — he died while on the Qatari payroll, but previously wrote at the behest of then-Saudi intel chief Prince Turki al-Faisal...

A critic of Crown Prince Mohammed, Khashoggi was killed and dismembered inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

According to the Post, US intelligence has concluded that the prince himself was closely linked to the murder.

#3  I wouldn't blame them.

If a company, albeit a US based corporation provides a personal opinion/news/message publishing service that is being used by dissidents of another country to revolt, the US needs to know first. If they cannot do anything about it or won't, the affected country has every right to act against the company in the internet domain.

There is no economic, territorial or diplomatic breach here. And since twitter is being so anti-Trump just before elections, fuck 'em.

Parked semi driver sips coffee as Daijon and Ray eat bumper (video)
[ABC News] JESUP, Ga (WTGS) ‐ A high-speed chase in Jesup led to the arrest of two North Carolina gang members, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

GSP says the chase started Monday afternoon around 3:30 p.m., when Long County deputies received a call about a stolen vehicle out of North Carolina. The owner was tracking the SUV using GPS and called Long County officials and advised that the SUV was driving west on GA 38 in Ludowici.

Deputies found the stolen Mercedes SUV reportedly driven by 21-year-old Daijon Tanner and another in the passenger's seat, Ray Jordan Jr., 21. Tanner fled from law enforcement.
"Daijon, named after that mustard shit I like so much"
GSP says the Long County Sheriff’s Office requested GSP’s assistance with the pursuit into Wayne County. The driver was traveling more than 130 mph down U.S. 301 heading towards Brantley County.

ABC bosses scramble after Amy Robach’s comments about Jeffrey Epstein leak
[PAGESIX]

ABC bosses are battling to deal with the fallout from comments made by "Good Morning America" news hound Amy Robach, who was caught on a hot mic claiming network brass scrapped her interview with a Jeffrey Want Some Candy, Little Girl? Epstein
...A high class pimp financier who was alleged to maintain a stable of underage whores sex slaves who were paid big bucks to entertain the rich and/or famous. He is a registered sex offender and made att least 17 out-of-court settlements with former members of his stable, with some cases still ongoing. 2011 court docs reveal that 21 email addresses and phone numbers for Bill Clinton and an aide were found in Epstein's electronic black book, and that Clinton frequently flew with Epstein on his private plane between 2002 to 2005. But really, they were probably just discussing finance or politix or something. While getting massaged. Then things got serious, Jeff was tossed in the slammer in New York and then he killed himself. Really. That's what happened...
accuser to appease the royal family.

The "GMA" news hound could be heard complaining that she spent three years trying to get the interview with Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who alleges she was forced to sleep with Prince Andrew while she was kept as Epstein’s sex slave, on air.

ABC news chiefs swiftly moved on Tuesday to have Robach issue a statement, in which she backtracked on her initial claims.

The anchor said she was "caught in a moment of private frustration" on the video, which was released by the conservative website Project Veritas Sunday and believed to have been taped this July.

In her statement, Robach said she was "disappointed" that her interview with Giuffre, taped in 2015, did not run as it failed to meet ABC’s reporting standards, while insisting that she had never been told to stop reporting on the Epstein scandal.

ABC sources told Page Six Tuesday there was "zero truth" that the interview was held to court favor with the royals, and particularly, as Robach said on camera, to get an interview with Prince William and wife Kate Middleton.

An ABC source said: "A lot of broadcasters can probably empathize. We do have to run everything past standards and practices and there are times when interviews can’t air.

"We needed time to corroborate details, and we were unable to verify a lot of Virginia’s claims."

This does not, however, answer why ABC did not run the interview at any time after 2015. Giuffre has now made her claims to a variety of media outlets.

Women killed in Mexican cartel murders had alleged ties to sex cult Nxivm
[NYPost] The nine women and children slaughtered in Mexico on Monday were part of a Mormon community with ties to the alleged sex-cult Nxivm.

The outpost Mormon community in Mexico is where underlings of Nxivm leader Keith Raniere recruited young women to work as nannies in an upstate New York compound run by the accused cult — suggesting at least in part that the jobs would get the girls away from their home region’s drug violence, according a man hired by Raniere to produce a documentary about the group.

The three moms and six kids killed in Monday’s violence in the northern town of Sonora are believed to have been the victims of a drug cartel, which may have mistaken the group’s caravan of three SUVs for rivals, Mexican authorities said Tuesday.

The filmmaker working with Raniere at the time, Mark Vicente, told the online magazine Slate that the documentary ultimately became a recruiting video for Nxivm, which purported to be a self-help group but morphed into what the feds called a cult that sexually, physically and emotionally abused its mainly female followers.

The film included an interview with Julian LeBaron, who identified himself as the cousin of one of the moms killed Monday and who is a leader of the Mexico Mormon community. LeBaron’s brother was kidnapped by a local drug cartel in 2009, and the family defiantly refused to pay a ransom. The cartel eventually released the abducted man.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Bill Gates says meeting Jeffrey Epstein was a ‘mistake'
[NYP] Bill Gates said Wednesday that he "made a mistake" when he decided to meet with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein while seeking money for his global health campaign.

Gates made the mea culpa while speaking to The New York Times Dealbook Conference ‐ saying that by sitting down with Epstein he helped legitimize the convicted sexual predator.

"I made a mistake in judgment that I thought that those discussions would lead, literally, to billions of dollars going to global health. It turned out that was a bad judgment," said 64-year-old Gates.

"And I gave him some benefit by the association. So I made a doubly wrong mistake there," he added.

Epstein died in federal lock up in lower Manhattan on August 10 after he was busted by the FBI for sex trafficking.

Theories that Epstein was murdered have swirled since his death, with his brother, Mark Epstein, saying Wednesday that "my brother might have been murdered."

City Announces Plans To Sue Oil Companies For Climate Change Damage
[Hawaii Public Radio] The City and County of Honolulu is the second county to announce plans to sue fossil fuel companies for what officials say is damage caused by climate change and rising sea levels traced back to corporate action or inaction.

"The evidence is piling up that just as big tobacco misled the public and policymakers about the danger of smoking, big oil waged a decades-long deception campaign and covered up the origins of today’s climate crisis," said Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell on Tuesday.

The mayor pointed to the estimated 3,880 Oahu structures said to be in harm's way if the sea level rises by 3.2 feet as predicted by 2100. The higher oceans could result $12.9 billion in costs, according to a 2017 study from the Hawaiʻi Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission.

Last week, Maui Mayor Michael Victorino said his administration plans to sue the companies for climate change-related damage to roads and other infrastructure.

Both lawsuits will need approval from county councils.

Victorino has been feuding with Maui council members over issues like his insistence that the county argue rather than settle a wastewater lawsuit now before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Caldwell had City Council members Joey Manahan and Ron Menor at a press conference announcing his intention to file a lawsuit against fossil fuel companies. Both supported the administration's plans.

Among the companies that would be named in the suit are Chevron, Shell, Exxon Mobil, BP, the BHP Group, Conoco Phillips, Marathon (formerly known as Tesoro) and Aloha Petroleum.

Last I looked, sea level rise was on the order of a millimeter per year which gives 80 mm by 2100 - about 3 inches. Probably not real noticeable depending on the daily tides.

If I were an oil company CEO, I would announce that all fuel shipments and sales would be suspended in 30 days to avoid further legal liability. Then I would sit back with a drink and watch heads explode all over the islands.

Ok: my ruling is that Lex and European Conservative are tied for winning the thread, and Dron66046 gets an very honourable mention.

And I get to remember my mother explaining what fun she had shocking her English professor at NYU by reading Chaucer aloud as if it were modern Dutch — it works perfectly that way, though Flemish is, in Mama’s considered opinion, almost nearly as good.

Charge sheet filed against sole accused in Saima murder case
[Dhaka Tribune] Detective branch (DB) of Police has filed charge sheet against sole accused Harun-ur Rashid in Wari’s Samia Afrin Saima murder case.

Investigation officer and DB inspector Md Arjun filed the charge sheet at the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday, reports BSS.

On October 29, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mainul Islam set November 20 to submit the probe report in the case filed over rape and subsequently murder of seven-year-old Saima in Dhaka’s Wari on July 5.

Saima’s father Abdus Salam filed the case under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act with Wari Police Station on July 6 and police on July 7 managed to arrest killer Harun-ur Rashid from Cumilla.

Saima, a nursery-grade student of Silverdale School went missing after she went out to play on the afternoon of July 5.

Later, her body was found on the 8th floor of their under construction building at 8pm, with a rope wrapped around her neck.

It was found later, the little girl was brutally raped by Harun and the killer dragged her lifeless body by tying a rope around her neck and took it to the kitchen of that vacant flat and expeditiously departed at a goodly pace.

Cartel's Extortion War on Mormons and Background for Murders
[Sun UK] How the Mormons and cartels went to war in Mexico - with anti-terror devices, $1m ransoms and shoot-outs in the street

The LeBarons' roots in Mexico date back to the 1880s - and the family history is tinged with bloodshed.

When the Church of the Latter Day Saints banned polygamy in the late 19th century, hoards of Mormons - who traditionally take multiple wives - fled to Mexico to avoid prosecution.

Among these was Alma Dayer LeBarón, who in 1924 set up Colonia LeBaron in Chihuahua state.

Alma's son, Joel, carried on the family's polygamous tradition - taking six wives and 42 children - but after taking over the leadership in the '50s, also united 30 families under the 'The Church of the The Firstborn'.

Joel's brother and second in command, Evril, however, resented his authority.

Driven on by the controversial Mormon doctrine 'blood atonement' - where certain crimes are punishable by death - he ordered Joel's murder and went on to kill a number of his rival faction leaders.

Eventually, Evril, dubbed the 'Mormon Manson', was cornered by police in 1979 and sentenced to life imprisonment.

He died two years later still linked with countless deaths, including those of his own 17-year-old pregnant daughter Rebecca, who had tried to leave the group.

I think it's arseholes like these that destroyed the credibility of Christianity in the minds of millions. They will all burn in hell anyway. Perhaps the cartel fellows and those 'death saint' junkies use this as a justification.
A WATCHMAN scans the roads for killers in the dead of night, peering out from a tower looming over a small, sleepy hillside town. It's not a scene from a film, but the daily life of Mormons fighting to keep their families from the bloody grip of drug cartels running riot in north Mexico.

This week the sickening massacre of nine Mormons - including six children - has shone a spotlight on a fragile community blighted by decades of tragedy.

In a "targeted" hit that has seen a rival of El Chapo arrested, three vehicles belonging to two families were ravaged with bullets on their way to a wedding in Sonora, where babies were left to burn alive and kids were shot in the back.

While police are yet to pin down the hitmens' exact motives, the grisly scene is just the latest chapter in a long, brutal feud between the two groups plagued by kidnappings and brutal executions.

Most remarkably, it has seen a tight knit, religious community turned into a high security fortress where guards barricade roads like anti-terror units, illegal firearms are smuggled in and ordinary civilians man watchtowers on a seven-day rota round the clock.

KIDNAPPINGS AND $1MILLION RANSOMS

The LeBarons - a polygamous community where men take multiple wives - were first caught in the cartels' dangerous web in 2009.

The family's large houses and nice cars attracted the attention of organised criminal syndicates looking to fill their coffers.

It was here that on May 2 16-year-old Eric LeBaron was seized by five armed men as he worked on the family's Sierra Madre ranch.

His younger brother was sent to tell his father, Joel, of the news.

The shameless kidnappers Wat ? called three times to ask for $1million dollars in ransom - refusing to negotiate.

"If you give them a cookie, they'll want a glass of milk. If we don't make a stand here, it's only a matter of time before it's my kid." - Craig LeBaron

Furious, the family debated hiring professional bounty hunters, before going over the heads of the local police force to petition in their hundreds the state's governor and attorney general.

The response was immediate.

Helicopters scoured the streets as police desperately searched for the missing teen. Roadblocks were set up to block off escape routes. Obviously the govt pathetically implored the Cartels to free the hostages, for gear of US reprisal.

And miraculously, within eight days, Eric was freed.

Yet while the clan celebrated victory, tragedy was just around the corner.

More about the Community's stand-off and the Mexican assault at The Sun. Including a 30 year old patsy they've 'caught'. I'm no fan of these false Christs and wolves playing shepherds, but this is no divine judgement. Or is it ? Brrr...

#2  When the Church of the Latter Day Saints banned polygamy in the late 19th century, hoards of Mormons - who traditionally take multiple wives - fled to Mexico to avoid prosecution.

As did a number of former southern slavers post-1865 to include Brazil as a destination that retained the practice.

Chilean police officers set on fire by Molotov cocktails thrown by protesters
[Fox] Police officers in Chile’s capital were set on fire after demonstrators threw Molotov cocktails in their direction. Unrest in Chile began 19 days ago over a hike to subway fares and has grown into a massive movement demanding broad changes.

Two female police officers trying to drive off protesters in Chile’s capital were set on fire after demonstrators threw Molotov cocktails in direction of the officers.

Chile has been facing weeks of unrest, triggered by an increase in subway fares. The protests have shaken a nation noted for economic stability over the past decades, which has seen steadily declining poverty despite persistent high rates of inequality.

Jorge Silva, the Reuters chief photographer in South East Asia who is in Chile covering the protests, said he was standing close to the Baquedano metro station when he saw a flare out of the corner of his eye.

The incident sparked an immediate response from police, Henry Romero, another Reuters reporter, said.

“From that moment things intensified, the police began to use a lot of gas and rubber bullets, the noise of the repeated fire was loud,” he said.

Chileans have poured into the streets demanding better salaries and pensions, and a more equal distribution of wealth. A gathering in Santiago on Tuesday drew just 2,000 to 2,500 people, according to an estimate by Felipe Guevara, mayor of the Santiago metropolitan region.

Bastian Marín, 29 and a business executive, attributed the smaller protest to the fact that people have to work.

"It's hard to have the same number of people every day," he said, adding that a march planned for Friday is expected to be much larger.

The unrest began 19 days ago over a hike to subway fares, but it has grown into a massive movement demanding a broad range of changes. Chile's center-right government has responded with a host of proposed social improvements, which must still be approved by Congress.

Chunian case suspect confesses to killing 4 minor boys
[DAWN] The alleged rapist-cum-killer of four children of Chunian confessed to his crimes on Wednesday before a judicial magistrate, deputy prosecutor general Abdul Rauf Watoo said.

Sohail Shahzad, the prime suspect in the case, has been in police custody for more than a month. During the investigation, the suspect confessed to murdering four minor boys, the public prosecutor said.

He added that following his confession, the suspect ‐ after approval from the trial court ‐ was presented before a magistrate to record his statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).

Four children ‐ aged between eight and 12 years ‐ had gone missing since June this year with the latest, eight-year-old Faizan, disappearing on the night of September 16.

The remains of three of them were found on September 17 from sand dunes near Chunian bypass, sending shock waves among the area residents who held protests to express concern over the continued lawlessness and failure of police to protect the Chunianlives of people.

Suspect Shahzad, a resident of Chunian, was arrested on October 1 after his DNA matched with samples recovered from the remains of a victim. Punjab

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had announced his arrest at a detailed presser. Next day, the 27-year-old suspect was produced before an anti-terrorism court in Lahore. He was remanded in police custody for 15 days and later his remand was extended twice.

This Is How the U.S. Military's Massive Facial Recognition System Works
[One Zero] Over the last 15 years, the United States military has developed a new addition to its arsenal. The weapon is deployed around the world, largely invisible, and grows more powerful by the day.

That weapon is a vast database, packed with millions of images of faces, irises, fingerprints, and DNA data ‐ a biometric dragnet of anyone who has come in contact with the U.S. military abroad. The 7.4 million identities in the database range from suspected terrorists in active military zones to allied soldiers training with U.S. forces.

"Denying our adversaries anonymity allows us to focus our lethality. It’s like ripping the camouflage netting off the enemy ammunition dump," wrote Glenn Krizay, director of the Defense Forensics and Biometrics Agency, in notes obtained by OneZero. The Defense Forensics and Biometrics Agency (DFBA) is tasked with overseeing the database, known officially as the Automated Biometric Information System (ABIS).

DFBA and its ABIS database have received little scrutiny or press given the central role they play in U.S. military’s intelligence operations. But a newly obtained presentation and notes written by the DFBA’s director, Krizay, reveals how the organization functions and how biometric identification has been used to identify non-U.S. citizens on the battlefield thousands of times in the first half of 2019 alone. ABIS also allows military branches to flag individuals of interest, putting them on a so-called "Biometrically Enabled Watch List" (BEWL). Once flagged, these individuals can be identified through surveillance systems on battlefields, near borders around the world, and on military bases.

#3  #2 Badly?

Probably not badly at all, and getting better by the day. It's actually not that hard of a technical problem to solve.

A decent seed database, a decent knowledge of advanced topology + massively parallel computing power can solve it.

Trans Custody Case: 7-Year-Old Whose Mother Insists He's a Girl Just Went to School as a Boy
His "Mom" Fertilized Egg Carrier™ shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine on children. She's deranged
[PJMedia] A Texas boy whose mother claims he is a girl has attended school dressed as a boy. This supports the boy's father's claim that his son is not truly transgender and so should not be pumped with experimental drugs that may cause his chemical castration.

Last month, a Texas jury awarded custody of the 7-year-old boy James Younger to his legal mother, Dr. Anne Georgulas. Georgulas claims her son identifies as a girl and she wants to put him on experimental drugs. A judge later ruled that Jeffrey Younger, the boy's father and Georgulas' ex-husband, should have a say in his son's medical treatment. Gov. Greg Abbott (R-Texas) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) have weighed in on the case, which has raised the nationwide issue of experimental transgender treatments.

Friends of the father shared images of James and his brother Jude dressed as the boys they are and heading to school.

"Jeff emailed the principal today and James and Jude's teachers had reported that there was zero stress or disruptions in the classroom today. Just another day in school. Prayers answered," the group Save James posted on Facebook with a prayer emoji.

#2  Mom needs to be put away in a mental hospital. Physician, heal thyself.

Or at least pay a specialist in Munchausen Syndrome to treat you. Now the Exec. Director of the American College of Pediatricians has weighed in:

Dr. Michelle Cretella, a pediatrician and executive director at the American College of Pediatricians, told PJ Media last year that Georgulas may be suffering from a mental disorder. "This case is consistent with a diagnosis of Munchausen by proxy," she said.

"This is a disorder in which an adult feigns either a physical or psychological condition in a child for their own subconscious reasons," the pediatrician explained. "Most often the perpetrator is the biological mother and she often has a background in health or medicine."

"In the case of imposing gender dysphoria on a son, there are cases in the scientific literature of severe maternal depression triggered in a mother longing for a daughter," Cretella added. "The mother's depression lifts when the boy dresses and acts as a girl. This has been termed 'gender mourning.'"
