#6  Inquiring minds want to know which iron was used on this (a)hole.

I don't know about that asshole but this one really digs a 7-iron, one of the clubs I used to get my only par on the golf course (I've golfed maybe a dozen times, and that was thirty+ years ago). Had a nice drive off the tee but it went right and the par-4 hole broke that way. I was golfing with my father and I said - 'I want the 7-iron; I'm going to clear that tree and drop it right off the green'. He says 'I gotta see this', and I cleared that tree by six inches, tops. Lands right next to the green so out comes the pitching wedge - three feet from the fuckin' hole, from about 40 feet out, and I didn't choke on the putt, winning $5 from my old man who was sure I was gonna choke.

Plugs (Biden) Sustains Multiple Hairline Fractures of Foot
[Breitbart] President Donald Trump urged Joe Biden to ’Get well soon’ after the former Vice President injured his foot Sunday.

"Get well soon!" Trump wrote on Twitter sharing news footage of Biden leaving an orthopedic office in Deleware.

Biden’s office said "on background" that the former Vice President "slipped while playing with his dog Major, and twisted his ankle" while at his home in Delaware.

Biden was taken to an orthopedist for an examination and an x-ray.

A statement from Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the Director and Executive Medicine, of George Washington Medical Faculty Associates stated that Biden had "sustained a sprain of his right foot" but transported Biden to a different medical facility for a CT scan.

The CT scan revealed that Biden did have fractures in his foot after the injury.

"Initial x-rays did not show any obvious fracture, but his clinical exam warranted more detailed imaging," OConnor wrote, noting that the CT scan "confirmed hairline (small) fractures of President-elect Biden’s lateral and intermediate cuneiform bones, which are in the mid-foot."

"It is anticipated that he will likely require a walking boot for several weeks," O’Connor concluded.

Castle Rock sends letter to Polis opposing COVID ‘Level Red' restrictions, will not enforce them

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (KDVR) — Castle Rock has officially declared its opposition to the state’s decision to move Douglas County to "Level Red" on the COVID dial and says it will not participate in enforcement of Level Red restrictions.

Town council voted four to one in favor of the resolution at a special meeting Tuesday night. Following its passing, Castle Rock will now send a letter to Gov. Jared Polis stating the town’s position.

The letter says, in part, "we oppose our county’s apparent unequal treatment and move to Level Red. We reiterate our request that you help our community’s local restaurants by allowing indoor dining in Douglas County to reopen at some viable percentage, as outdoor-only service is simply impractical this time of year."

Councilman George Teal proposed an amendment adding language that Castle Rock "will not comply" with Level Red restrictions. That idea was voted down three to two.

The move to send the letter is largely symbolic, as it will not directly lead to changes in Castle Rock unless Polis or Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) agree to move Douglas County back down to level orange, yellow, blue or green.

The language regarding enforcement is symbolic too. Castle Rock police or other authorities currently do not enforce the state’s public health order. According to Mayor Jason Gray, enforcement has always been up to the state.

"I think our end goal is to be heard," Gray told FOX31.

Dozens of Castle Rock residents and business owners spoke during the public comment portion of Tuesday’s meeting to express their support of the resolution. Many said they would be out of business or need to lay off employees if the temporary ban on indoor dining persists.

Those opposed to Level Red restrictions largely criticized the state’s guidelines as unfair due to the fact that stores are still allowed to operate at 50 percent capacity for in-person shopping.

"No matter what your level of comfort is, we need to be open. And it’s hard to watch other places be open when there’s restrictions on your business," Gray said.

Not all of Castle Rock agrees with going against the grain. Council member Caryn Johnson opposed the resolution
...literally a Karen? Oh dear...
and each amendment, citing a record number of COVID deaths in Douglas County this month as a reason why Castle Rock needs to follow CDPHE orders.

Castle Rock resident Paul Sutton wrote to council saying, "I believe it is totally irresponsible of the city council to even consider asking for a variance from the state mandate..."

His statement goes on to say, "you give the citizens a false impression that we are immune from the consequences of COVID-19 spread."

In an interview with FOX31, Mayor Jason Gray said he can see both sides of the issue.

"I don’t think our council is saying, ’Hey, we don’t want to be safe anymore.’ And I don’t want that impression either. I think we want to be safe," he said.

Gray, town council and other Castle Rock administrators stressed that if businesses choose not to comply with public health orders, the potential consequences will be their own responsibility.
Let's hear it for my town!!

Pres. Trump Asks Supreme Court To Keep Illegal Immigrants Out Of Redistricting
[Free Beacon] The Trump administration will press its bid to exclude illegal aliens from the population baseline for awarding House seats on Monday in the Supreme Court, a move that would shift political clout away from states with large undocumented populations.

President Donald Trump's July order to exclude illegal aliens from the apportionment could be one of his most consequential acts in office. States like California, where approximately 6 percent of the population is undocumented, will lose out on congressional seats and untold millions in federal funds if the administration prevails.

Blue states losing even a handful of seats would make the House's thin Democratic majority even more precarious. Congressional analysts suggest Democrats will lose the House in 2022 on the basis of reapportionment alone, since red states with growing populations are expected to gain seats. But right-leaning states like Florida and Texas could each pick up one seat fewer as a result of the order, according to the Pew Research Center.

The dispute is moving at a fast clip. Census figures are by law due to the White House from Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross on Dec. 31. President Trump must transmit a reapportionment to Congress by Jan. 10, 2021. The Constitution requires the government to conduct a census every 10 years.

#6  Legally it seems more complex than it does when looked at rationally.

1. Constitution says Congress sets the laws that govern the "enumeration".
2. it mentions people and numbers, not citizens, tho it does exclude "indians not taxed", so an argument could be made about untaxed illegals.
3, Further confused by the whole getting around slavery thing.

#7  As someone who worked on the census, I can tell you there is no way that can be done. The data simply wasn't collected.

We recorded where the person was born, their age, and what language the interview was conducted, but the person could be here legally or even a citizen.

About 1/5 of the interviews I conducted (Sarasota FL) were in Spanish or Portuguese.

#8  I recall there was a fight against President Trump’s desire that there be questions about citizenship and legal status, the way there used to be before they were discontinued.

#10  I believe illegals have to remain in contact with ICE as to whereabouts (or make another violation of the law). Simply deduct that from the count for those addresses in the districts.
Posted by: Procopius2k || 11/30/2020 12:41 Comments || Top||

#11  Democrats have always wanted to inflate their numbers by counting their slaves. Since the 3/5 compromise was at one point legal. Since the Democrats and illegals like to flout the law, any illegals will count as -5000 people.

It's time to start giving the democrats a good shafting.

Almost one-third of small businesses in New Jersey have have closed: report
[The Hill] A third of small businesses in New Jersey have closed down in 2020, according to a report from The Star-Ledger newspaper.

"It’s really bad... And without federal dollars coming into New Jersey, the Main Street stores and other establishments are not gonna make it through the winter." said Eileen Kean, the state director of the National Federation of Independent Business.

Harvard-based data project TrackTheRecovery.org estimated that 31 percent of businesses have closed down so far as of Nov. 9. This number is just above the national average estimated by the website. The New Jersey Business & Industry Association reported similar numbers, estimating 28 percent of businesses had closed down by October.

The newspaper notes that despite the holiday shopping season, business leaders are still concerned that the trend could get worse as stimulus talks stall on Capitol Hill.

New Jersey, like most of the U.S., is currently experiencing a surge of new cases. Over 329,000 cases and nearly 17,000 deaths have been reported. On Nov. 21, New Jersey recorded 4,669 cases, the most it has ever reported in a single day.

Hamas bans West Bank dairy products from entering Gaza
[JP] Hamas has banned Palestinian dairy companies in the West Bank from selling their products in the Gaza Strip.

The unprecedented decision drew strong condemnation from the Palestinian Authority and many Palestinians, who said Hamas continues to allow various Israeli products to enter the coastal enclave.

The move was a "despicable crime," PA officials in Ramallah said, adding that it would deepen the split between the West Bank and Gaza.

Trade and Crossings director-general Rami Abu Rish announced the ban in a letter to Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing director Ahmed Musalam. The Kerem Shalom crossing is on the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip.

Products from Al-Juneidi Company for Dairy Products and Food Products and Al-Jebrini Dairy & Food Industry Co. were banned, said the letter, dated November 22. The two companies are based in the West Bank.
...and they sound Arab-owned.
The ban aims to "support and strengthen local products," the letter said.

Many Palestinians criticized the Hamas ban, especially since the decision does not include Israeli dairy products.

Cancel Mob Attacks U Chicago Geophysicist Dorian Abbot For Questioning Diversity Hiring Dogma
[LI] Grad Student Demand Letter seeks to strip him of access, resources, and teaching responsibilities for advocating "against ... setting up systems where group membership is a primary aspect of a candidate’s evaluation. I believe we should avoid discriminating against anyone for any reason."

"Cancel culture" is a plague that has infected academia and campuses for a long time, and has moved from campus to the general culture. But it has been particularly prominent in the news in 2020 over issues of racial politics, particularly the Black Lives Matter Movement and Critical Race Theory (sometimes called "antiracist") indoctrination.

Cancel culture is not criticism. It’s the use of mob dynamics to silence debate through threats to career, employment, and reputation:

At a conceptual level, the difference is clear. Criticism marshals evidence and arguments in a rational effort to persuade. Canceling, by contrast, seeks to organize and manipulate the social or media environment in order to isolate, deplatform or intimidate ideological opponents. It is about shaping the information battlefield, not seeking truth; and its intent—or at least its predictable outcome—is to coerce conformity and reduce the scope for forms of criticism that are not sanctioned by the prevailing consensus of some local majority.

It’s a subject that is of interest to me for obvious reasons.
