An Egyptian bully boy group, Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, which pledged allegiance to IS earlier in November, has itself also been designated a terrorist organization under a similar ruling.
Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, based in the restive Sinai Peninsula, has killed scores of police and soldiers since the army ousted Islamist president Mohammed Morsi in July last year.
MENA said the IS ruling followed a suit filed by a lawyer.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Nearly 300 people are facing prosecution in Germany for supporting the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), German Justice Minister Heiko Maas has said, adding that it was a sign that anti-terrorism laws were working and tougher legislation was not needed.
"Whoever supports ISIS can already be prosecuted under existing laws," he told Sunday's weekly newspaper Welt am Sonntag in an interview, after some politicians called for tighter laws.
He added, however, that he would present a draft law by the end of the year to tackle the flow of money to ISIS.
On Friday, a state prosecutor demanded a prison term of more than four years for a 20-year-old German man accused of fighting with ISIS hard boyz in Syria. It is the first trial of its kind in Germany and dozens more are due to begin in coming months.

[AnNahar] The tossed in the calaboose Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please! leader of Turkey's outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) said Sunday he was hopeful the grinding of the peace processor with the authorities would be concluded successfully within five months with enough determination.
Determination is indeed the key factor -- on both sides.
In a statement made public after pro-Kurdish politicians visited him in his island prison off Istanbul, Ocalan said that a framework for the peace talks to end the three-decade rebellion was about to be finalized.
"He (Ocalan) discussed it with the state officials in detail and they agreed that there is a framework on which negotiations could be carried out," the statement said.
"If the parties execute the process in a consistent, responsible and determined manner, a major democratic solution that could determine the future of the whole Middle East could be reached within 4-5 months."
Ocalan however did not specify any solid plans or expectations from the Turkish government in return, but said "the framework will soon be unveiled."
The PKK, whose rebellion for self-rule left 40,000 dead, had given the government until mid-October to show it is serious about the grinding of the peace processor. But Ankara has yet to come up with a comprehensive road map.
The grinding of the peace processor had appeared to be making progress, until the standoff over the Syrian Kurdish town of Kobane besieged by Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (IS) jihadists. Kurds have been infuriated by the lack of action by Turkey against IS.
In a new upsurge of violence, the Turkish army on Saturday confirmed the jihadists had staged an attack at the Mursitpinar border close to Kobane.
But the army vehemently denied allegations by pro-Kurdish media that the car involved in the strike had come from Turkish territory.
The pro-Kurdish People's Democratic Party (HDP) on Sunday put down a parliamentary question to the Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, asking for an investigation on whether the attack had been staged from Turkey.
#1
Ocalan is somewhat of a cult figure for the Turkish Kurds. And he has recently turned away from the old communist rhetoric toward capitalist ways of working in light of Iraqi Kurdistan's success, and his stint in prison with plenty of time alone to think.
Problem is that the Turks under Erdogan are especially untrustworthy (As opposed to their normal backstabbing genocidal ways). So the Kurds do have their work cut out for them. The Turks should jump at this if they were even half way rations -- its a way to prevent a civil war they will not lose but cannot win (and thus both sides will eventually lose, the Turks losing more).
[AnNahar] Turkey's main pro-Kurdish party on Sunday pressed Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu over whether a probe had been launched into claims that an attack by jihadists on a border post had been launched from Turkish soil.
The Turkish army on Saturday confirmed Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (IS) jihadists had staged an attack at the Mursitpinar border post close to the Syrian town of Kobane but strenuously denied that the car involved in the strike had come from its territory.
"Has any investigation been launched yet into the allegations that an car bomb, said to be coming from Turkey, went kaboom! as it crossed into Kobane from the Mursitpinar border post?" People's Democratic Party (HDP) politician Faysal Sariyildiz said in a written parliamentary question to Davutoglu.
Some pro-Kurdish media said earlier that a suicide kaboom had been staged by a vehicle that had arrived from Turkish territory, raising new questions about Turkey's commitment to fight IS.
According to the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory of Human Rights, one suicide attacker blew up an explosive-packed car and another detonated a suicide-bomb belt.
The HDP politician also demanded answers on claims that border villages evacuated by the state ostensibly for security reasons were "actually evacuated to facilitate the transition" of IS Death Eaters.
He also asked whether it was a coincidence that the attack came on the same day a delegation of HDP politicians held a rare meeting with incarcerated Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please! Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan on his prison island on the Sea of Marmara.
Turkey has long been accused of encouraging the rise of IS and even collaborating with the group, as well as not doing enough to stop jihadists passing through its borders.
Turkish officials point to the fact that Ankara has listed IS as a terror group and insist everything is being done to stop the flow of jihadists across borders.

[DAWN] Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf ...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations.... (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan ... aka Taliban Khan, who isn't your heaviest-duty thinker, maybe not even among the top five... threw down yet another gauntlet for the PML-N led government on Sunday, announcing the party's plan to paralyse major cities ‐ and eventually "shut down" the entire country by December 16.
Addressing a crowd of thousands assembled at D-Chowk, Imran unveiled "Plan C":
"On Thursday (December 4), I will go to Lahore and shut it down. On December 8 I will shut down Faisalabad ...formerly known as Lyallpur, the third largest metropolis in Pakistain, the second largest in Punjab after Lahore. It is named after some Arab because the Paks didn't have anybody notable of their own to name it after... ; on December 12 I will go to Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... and shut it down. By December 16 I will close down all of Pakistain."
The PTI rally and the announcement of "Plan C" was a critical next-step for the party, which had lost political mileage and steam since the massive anti-government movement launched in August.
Reiterating demands for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf... 's resignation and a fair probe into alleged rigging of the 2013 elections, the PTI Chairman appeared confident that his new push for street agitation would succeed.
"I know the people of Lahore are ready... I know all of Faisalabad is ready... and Karachi, I know they are waiting for me," he said.
Lambasting the ruling PML-N, Imran said a further "Plan D" would be revealed on Thursday.

Between Imran and polio, this plan might just work.
[DAWN] India's home affairs minister on Saturday accused Pak "state actors" of attempting to destabilise his country.
Home Affairs Minister Rajnath Singh alleged at a security conference in India's northeast that Pakistain was still supporting faceless myrmidons fighting Indian troops in Kashmire.
Mr Singh pointed to a guerilla attack earlier this week on an army patrol in India-held Kashmire in which at least 10 people were killed.
"It is unfortunate Pakistain does not mend its ways," he said, singling out Pakistain's Inter-Services Intelligence ...the Pak military intelligence agency that controls the military -- heads of ISI typically get promoted into the Chief of Army Staff position. It serves as a general command center for favored turban groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, tries to influence the politix of neighboring countries, and carries out a (usually) low-level war against India in Kashmir... as one of the "state actors" seeking to disturb India's security.
"I do not hesitate in saying Pak state actors have a role in destabilising India," Mr Singh said and repeated a longstanding demand that Pakistain rein in Lion of Islams.
Mr Singh's remarks come on the heels of the Saarc (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) summit held earlier this week in the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu that was reportedly overshadowed by India-Pakistain rivalry and ended with little progress towards regional integration.
Since 1989 about a dozen Kashmiri groups, seeking independence or a merger of the territory with Pakistain, have been fighting Indian troops -- a battle that has left tens of thousands of people dead, most of them civilians.

BAGHDAD — The Iraqi army has been paying salaries to at least 50,000 soldiers who don’t exist, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said Sunday, an indication of the skillsets of corrupt Iraqi officials level of corruption that permeates an institution that the United States has wasted spent billions equipping and arming.
A preliminary investigation into “undocumented ghost soldiers” — whose salaries are being drawn by corrupt Iraqi officials but who are not in military service — revealed the tens of thousands of false names on Defense Ministry rolls, Abadi told parliament Sunday. Follow-up investigations are expected to uncover “more and more,” he added.
The United States is encouraging Abadi to create a leaner, more efficient military as the Pentagon requests $1.2 billion to line the pockets of corrupt Iraqi officials train and equip the Iraqi army next year. The United States spent more than $20 billion on corrupt Iraqi officials the force from the 2003 invasion until U.S. troops withdrew at the end of 2011. Ghost soldiers make for a lean army, though probably not an effective one.
With entry-level soldiers in Iraq drawing salaries of about $600 a month, the practice of “ghost soldiers” is likely to be lining the pockets of corrupt Iraqi officials costing Iraq at least $380 million a year — though officials say that’s probably only a fraction of the bezzle true expense.
“It could be more than triple this number,” said Hamid al-Mutlaq, a corrupt Iraqi official member of the parliamentary defense and security committee, pointing out that more thorough official embezzlements on-the-ground investigations are planned. “The people who are responsible for this have probably already bugged out of Baghdad should be punished. Iraq’s safe has been emptied but not the safe of Uncle Sam.”

Now wait a minute. If Iraq has all that oil, why do they need $1.2 billion from us to train and equip their army? Why aren't they paying us $1.2 billion?

Isn't ISIS sitting on some of it, and the Kurds taking ownership of some of the rest -- and that cute little civil war interfering with the exploitation of what remains?

tw - ISIS has very little of the Iraqi oil, though it does disrupt investment and transportation. The Kurds do indeed have a big chunk. But the biggest part of the Iraqi oil resource continues to be in the Shia areas.

The statement, which IraqiNew.com was not able to verify, added, "Crusader aviation managed to monitor the Mujahideen phones and track their movements, so the Islamic State decided to cut off all communication and prevented its return."

Who, who would rellay want the ISIS defeted, would launch almost daily airstrikes? Was Nazi Germany defeated with almost daily airstrikes? Japan? Saddam Hussein in both Irak wars? Who is laughing at our faces while playing golf?

It seems to me, And please correct me if I am wrong, but when ISIS first burst on the scene, they were seen as the Supersized version of terrorists, yet now that there is push back it appears that maybe they aren't all they put themselves up to be. Like initially really aggressive, but not having a lot of depth.
Sprinters trying to run a marathon.
Anybody else share that feeling of late?
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi said Sunday an investigation had found a list of "ghost soldiers" in the Iraqi military and vowed to widen a crackdown on graft in the country.
"In terms of reforms in the military establishment, Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi uncovered the presence of 50,000 fictitious named in four military units," a statement from Abadi's office said.
Abadi also denied "the presence of foreign forces on [Iraqi] territory except for military training purposes."
A parliament statement said Abadi scrapped the 50,000 jobs, equivalent to almost four full army divisions, reported AFP.
"Over the past few weeks, the PM has been cracking down to expose the ghost soldiers and get to the root of the problem," Abadi's front man Rafid Jaboori said.
He said that the probe started with a thorough headcount during the latest salary payment process.
Soldiers confirmed to AFP that salaries were paid only recently after a two-month delay about which they were given no explanation.
"There are two kinds of 'fadhaiyin,'" one experienced officer in the security forces said, using a word which, literally translated, means "space men," and refers to the fictitious soldiers crowding the payroll.
"The first kind: each officer is allowed, for example, five guards. He'll keep two, send three home and pocket their salary or an agreed percentage," he told AFP.
"Then the second and bigger group is at the brigade level. A brigade commander usually has 30, 40 or more soldiers who stay at home or don't exist," the officer said.
"The problem is that he too, to keep his job as a brigade commander, has to bribe his own hierarchical superiors with huge amounts of money," he said.
The officer explained that, for those reasons, the thousands of soldiers who defected or were killed this year across Iraq were rarely declared as such.
The United States, which occupied the country for eight years, has spent billions of dollars training and equipping Iraq's military.
Yet the army collapsed when fighters from the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. Since taking office in September, Abadi has sacked or retired several top military commanders, and Sunday's announcement suggests he wants to tackle the graft and patronage that prevailed under his predecessor Nuri al-Maliki, reported AFP.
"Haidar al-Abadi is setting integrity, efficiency and courage as the criteria to appoint a new military leadership," Jaboori said.
"This weeding out process will extend beyond the military to all state institutions," he said.

So? After some six months of negotiations, in the end Abbas and Israel had a secret non-agreement. And Hamas has still a semi-secret plan to overthrow the PA and conquer Israel, while Israel has a completely non-secret determination not to allow any such thing. Lots of secrets in the region, many of which are as secret as a toddler covering its eyes so that Papa can't see him.
[Ynet] Paleostinian President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial... claims he has proof that Israel and Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, have been holding secret negotiations and have even reached certain agreements.
In an interview to Arab media, Abbas claimed that statements released by Israel and Hamas are coordinated. Abbas further slammed, saying it seemed it was easier for Jerusalem to negotiate with Hamas than with him, despite the fact that he is a moderate.

Again, this underlines the rift between Hamas and the PA. Abbas's comments are for the consumption of the Arab media, cashing in on Anti-Israeli sentiment, trying to make it look like Israel and Hamas are secretly colluding. Ha!

[Ynet] Pope Francis on Sunday called on Moslem leaders to issue a global condemnation of terrorism, saying it would help to dispel the stereotype that equates Islam with terror.
Speaking to news hounds aboard the plane as he returned from Turkey, where he condemned Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... bully boyz several times, Francis said he made the suggestion in private talks on Friday with the country's president, Tayyip Erdogan.
"I told the president that it would be beautiful if all Islamic leaders, whether they are political, religious or academic leaders, would speak out clearly and condemn this, because this would help the majority of Moslem people," Francis said in answer to a news hound's question.
"But this must come from the mouths of their leaders, from religious leaders, academic leaders, intellectuals and politicians," he said.
#1
Pope Francis is not familiar with the term "not a snowball's chance in hell?"
Oh, while they may say they condemn it over coffee and cake at a social, they would never go to print with something like that unless they had something like the entire French Foreign Legion or the Spetznaz surrounding them as body guards.
Something has got to give on this global jihad, mass murdering beheading everyone that doesn't nod their head in agreement thing. I am certain most of the civilized world is almost at the tipping point for turning the entire Middle East into a gigantic glass ashtray.

Jesus and the Disciples spread the faith by the word. Buddha spread the faith by the word. Mohammad spread the faith by the sword. For them, there can be only one.

The problem is terrorism, slavery, tyranny are very basic foundation of Islam. The Islamic 'Perfect man', the Profit Mohammad himself, was a terrorist, slaver, slave-owner, rapist, and pedophile.
And that is according to Islamic Holy Script itself.
Matthew 10:36
And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.
Cain was Abel's brother, but he killed his brother out of jealousy. Its a fallen world Linker, where evil is sufficiently rampant enough to where God warned that a man's enemies can be those of his own household. Not something God condones, God passed severe judgement against Cain.
Matthew 10:35I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
Again, if evil reigns within a household, and one or more are on the side of good, there will be division. Just more wisdom given to us from God.
Matthew 10:34
Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
The Word of God which is like a sword cuts deep into the soul of those convicted by it. And peace will not come but strife no matter what. Whether it is the acceptance of God or the violent rejection of God.
As PaulD noted, Jesus taught love, but not only that, but that He was Lord, and those whose hearts were filled with evil hung him from a tree. There is no peace in this world, there is no utopia, keep a sword by your side and the powder dry, otherwise you are fool, because there will always be wars and rumors of war.
[AnNahar] Pope Francis and Orthodox Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I on Sunday made a joint pledge to support Christians in the Middle East, saying they could not let Christianity be driven out of the region.
A noble sentiment, but how many brigades has either pontiff? And how much conscience have the enemies of the Christians in the Middle East, that it might be appealed to?
"We cannot resign ourselves to a Middle East without Christians, who have professed the name of Jesus there for two thousand years," the two Church leaders said in a joint declaration.
Referring to the rampage of violence by Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (IS) jihadists in Iraq and Syria, they warned that Christians in the region were being persecuted and forced from their homes.
"The terrible situation of Christians and all those who are suffering in the Middle East calls not only for our constant prayer, but also for an appropriate response on the part of the international community," they added.
The two church leaders also called for "a constructive dialogue with Islam based on mutual respect and friendship."
Earlier on Sunday, Pope Francis launched a strong appeal to end the millennium-old schism between the Orthodox and Catholic Churches to bring them back into full communion, saying the conflicts in the world had made unity even more urgent.
"The one thing that the Catholic Church desires, and that I seek as Bishop of Rome... is communion with the Orthodox Churches," the pope said after attending the celebration of a divine liturgy at the Orthodox Patriarchal Church of St. George in Istanbul with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I.
The Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches have been split since the schism of 1054 and it is only in the last decades that meetings between their leaders have restarted after a centuries-long freeze.
Alluding to the violence in the Middle East that has seen Christians persecuted by jihadists, Francis said the need for reconciliation had now become even more pressing.
"The cry of the victims of conflict urges us to move with haste along the path of reconciliation and communion between Catholics and Orthodox.
"Indeed, how can we credibly proclaim the message of peace which comes from Christ, if there continues to be rivalry and disagreement between us?" he said.

Of course, when you say that which is the fundamental problem isn't the fundamental problem, the likelihood of stopping the persecution and expulsion of ME Christians is not going to stop.

[Ynet] Year after Russia-US relations hit low after Putin moves to transfer high-end S-300 missiles to Syria, pro-Assad reports says 'senior Russian officials stressed their absolute commitment to continue support for Syria in fight against terror.'
State-affiliated media in Syria have reported that the during a recent visit to Moscow by representatives of the embattled regime, Damascus received promises of widespread Russian support, including in the field of military.
According to a report in al-Watan, which cited unnamed Western diplomats, "senior Russian officials stressed their absolute commitment to continue their support the Syrian in its military attempt to fight terror."
The report also claimed that among others, Russia will give Syria the S-300 missile defense system. In the past reports of such a transfer strained Western-Russia relations, and led to an all time low in Russia's relations with the US.
The issue made headlines in September 2013, when news of possible arms transfer from Russia to Syria came as the US was mulling military intervention and Syria.
At the time, Russian President Putin confirmed for the AP that Moscow supplied Syria with components for the high-end S-300 air defense system, but that the shipment was not completed: "We have suspended it for now," he said but added that "if we see that steps are taken that violate the existing international norms, we shall think how we should act in the future, in particular regarding supplies of such sensitive weapons to certain regions of the world."
Against the background of the crystallization of the US outline for a possible strike in Syria, Putin warned the West of acting without the UN Security Council's backing. However, there's more than one way to skin a cat... in the interview Putin said he doesn't "exclude" Russian support for a military action, should proof of Assad's use of chemical weapons be shown to the UN.
Two weeks later, a Russian report said Russia will offer Iran a new supply of S-300 missiles and assistance in the construction of an additional nuclear reactor in Bushehr, Russian paper Kommersant reported.
The proposal came three years after a previous agreement under which Russia was expected to transfer five S-300 batteries to Iran was canceled.
According to a source within the Kremlin, Putin decided to grant an Iranian request to supply the Islamic Theocratic Republic with the high-end S-300 air defense system with a deal estimated at $800 million which will also include coordinating the construction of an additional nuclear reactor in Bushehr.

As the article states an S-300 air defence system is clearly not directed at the Syrian rebels.
#2
Three points:
(1) evidently the S-300 needs field trials against contemporary targets, and here's a good chance
(2) Putin wants to keep pressure on Turkey prior to his move round about Armenia
(3) The Russians (and Putin) do not want to be seen as abandoning a client.
