[AlAhram] A Cairo Criminal court sentenced 12 defendants charged with incitement of violence and rioting to prison, including one for 7 years, in the 2011 case commonly known as the "cabinet festivities" trial.
The court also ordered the defendants to pay fines amounting to 17,622,022 pounds
...one Egyptian pound is worth 6 American cents, so if I plugged it into the calculator correctly, that’s over $1 million, an impossible sum for most Egyptians...
as compensation for the damage they caused.
The defendants were accused of violence, arson, and rioting during the "cabinet festivities" between security forces and protests in December 2011 that resulted in 18 deaths and hundreds injured in the festivities that went on for five days..
The original indictment included the referral of 269 defendants to the Cairo criminal court and 24 minors to the juvenile court.
The accusations also included disrupting public facilities, possession of white weapons and Molotov cocktails, in addition to drug possession with the intention of using, practicing medicine without a license, storming the Ministry of Interior’s building to burn it, as well as the destruction of some cars of the Ministry of Health, among other charges.
Whatevs. Actions speak louder than words, and the Magic Kingdom reportedly has been secretly working with Israel for a decade or so, even while talking loudly of eternal war with the Zionist Entity. Eventually y’all will come out of the closet.

Not a surprise. For all their undesirable qualities, the Saudis are very good at figuring out which way the wind is blowing.
Expect 4 years of stagnation in the Middle East at the very best.

....A year or two back, Greece needed loans just to keep up the usual level of socialist spending over there, but now they can afford F-35s? Like I said, make sure we get the money up front.

Money up front. Happy to do a discount as Turkey has become an aggressor nation.
They’re tumbling like normalcy dominoes. An amazing thing I never thought to see.
[Jpost] Slovenia declared on Monday Hezbollah a terrorist organization, Israeli media reported.
Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi congratulated Slovenia's decision."This decision joins other decisions made in recent months by European and Latin American governments. Hezbollah is a terrorist organization that harms first and foremost the Lebanese people and takes them as hostages in order to promote Iran's interests," Ashkenazi noted.
[PJ] Although the recent conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been presented as a "territorial dispute," something else—namely religious animosity, or that old Islamic hate for infidels—has permeated it.
For example, several reports and testimonials, including by an independent French journalist, confirmed that Turkey was funneling jihadi/terrorist groups that had been operating in Syria and Libya—including the pro-Muslim Brotherhood Hamza Division, which kept naked, sex slave women in prison—into Azerbaijan to terrorize the Armenians.
Similarly, Armenian churches that have come under Azerbaijani control have been desecrated—despite promises from the authorities to protect them. In one instance, a soldier—unclear whether an Azeri or a jihadi mercenary from Syria or Iraq—was videotaped standing atop a church chapel, where the cross had been broken off, and triumphantly shouting "Allahu Akbar!" Azerbaijani forces also shelled and destroyed Holy Savior, an iconic Armenian cathedral which was "consecrated in 1888 but was damaged during the March 1920 massacre of Armenians of the city by Azerbaijanis and experienced a decades-long decline."
Anti-infidel rhetoric and logic also motivated the mercenaries. A captured terrorist confessed that he was "promised a monthly 2000 dollar payment for fighting against ’kafirs’ in Artsakh, and an extra 100 dollar for each beheaded ’kafir.'" (Kafir, often translated as "infidel," is Arabic for non-Muslims who fail to submit to Islamic authority, which by default makes them enemies worthy of death or slavery.)
Indeed, one need only listen to a Turkish man rant in a video about how Armenians are all "dogs" and that any found in Turkey should be slaughtered for an idea of the Islamic impetus fueling the hate:

NATO Report: Relations with Armenia Last updated: 21 Oct. 2020 "Armenia contributes to NATO-led operations and cooperates with Allies and other partner countries in many other areas. A key priority for NATO is to strengthen political dialogue and to provide focused advice and assistance in support of democratic, institutional and defence reform efforts in Armenia." The NATO alliance is a sham.

Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... has freed imprisoned Iranian Jew Mashallah Pesar Kohan, who was detained in 2017 for visiting his family members in Israel.
George Haroonian, a prominent Iranian Jewish American, announced Sunday on social media that "Mashallah Pesar Kohan, a Jewish citizen, was released from prison in greater Tehran."
Karmel Melamed, an Iranian-American journalist and activist for religious minorities in Iran, told The Jerusalem Post that the case of Kohan shows that the "Jews of Iran do not live in peace. They fear for their lives.
"He was imprisoned for visiting his elderly parents in Israel," he continued. "What kind of crime is that? What kind of ’love’ and ’tolerance’ is that for the Jews of Iran?"
Iran’s regime sentenced Kohan to three years in prison for visiting Israel, though he was issued a conditional release in September. According to the Alliance for Rights of All Minorities (ARAM), Kohan "has been denied legal representation and medical care since his arrest."
The Human Rights Activists News Agency reported in Persian that Kohan wrote a letter in February describing his imprisonment:
"I am a lonely and sad Jew," he wrote, adding that "My hair and beard are white and I suffer from gastrointestinal diseases. My teeth are broken and I can't eat here. I was arrested while I was in the bathroom without warning, and I was tortured and interrogated with my hands and eyes closed. After two days, I was taken to prison with handcuffs and blindfolds."

[AnNahar] The next round of indirect demarcation border talks between Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... and Israel has been postponed, a Lebanese military source said Monday.
News of the postponement of a session scheduled to take place on Wednesday came after Israel accused Lebanon of changing its stance in the negotiations one too many times.
"We were officially informed of the postponing of the indirect round of negotiations," a military official told AFP, adding that the request was made by the US, which has been brokering the negotiations.
The official, who asked not to be named, said that a separate US-Lebanese meeting would be held instead and that the "search for common ground" would continue.
Israel and Lebanon, which remain technically at war, opened negotiations on the border dispute under US and UN auspices in October to clear the way for offshore oil and gas exploration.
The postponement came as no surprise after Israel earlier in November warned Lebanon's alleged inconsistency was threatening the landmark talks.
"Lebanon has changed its stance on its maritime border with Israel seven times," Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz said on November 19, complaining that Beirut's latest position contradicted its previous one.
Israel and Lebanon have been negotiating based on a map registered with the United Nations ...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense... in 2011, which shows an 860-square-kilometre (330-square-mile) patch of sea as being disputed.
But Lebanon considers that map to have been based on wrong estimates and now demands an additional 1,430 square kilometres (552 square miles) of sea further south, which includes part of Israel's Karish gas field, according to Lebanese energy expert Laury Haytayan.
[AlAhram] The new chief of Iran's Quds Force, General Esmail Ghaani, asked Hizbullah ...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory... during a recent secret visit to Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... to "avoid provoking Israel," a media report said on Monday.
"Ghaani, who succeeded General Qasem Soleimani as the head of the Quds Force, the elite unit of Iranian Revolutionary Guards in charge of foreign operations, has paid a secret visit to the southern suburbs of Beirut in recent days and has spoken with (Hizbullah chief Sayyed) His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah ...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb... and other political and military officials of the party," Lebanon’s French-language daily L'Orient-Le Jour reported.
"The Iranian official stressed the need to remain on alert for any eventuality, while telling his interlocutors that it was necessary to avoid any action that could be seen as escalation and exploited by Israel to launch a major operation," the newspaper added.
Two senior Iraqi Shiite politicians had recently told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named that Ghaani had visited Iraq in recent weeks to tell Iranian-backed Iraqi militia factions and Shiite politicians to avoid provoking tensions with the U.S. that could give an outgoing Trump administration cause to launch attacks in the U.S. president's final weeks in office.
Around that time, Nasrallah himself warned followers and allies to be vigilant during Trump's remaining time in power.
"All of us ... should be on high alert in these next two months so that it passes peacefully," Nasrallah said in televised remarks earlier this month even as he urged followers to "be prepared to face any danger, aggression or harm" and to respond in kind "if the U.S. or Israel's follies go that far."
[AlAhram] Iran's English-language Press TV reported the weapon used in Friday's killing of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was made in Israel
They could tell because it said Made in Iran all over it.
A senior Iranian official said on Monday an opposition group was suspected alongside Israel in the killing of a prominent Iranian nuclear scientist, an attack that has raised the prospect of a new standoff between Tehran and its longtime enemy.
Iran's English-language Press TV reported the weapon used in Friday's killing of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was made in Israel. Or domestically produced by Houthis?
"The weapons collected from the site of the terrorist act bear the logo and specifications of the Israeli military industry," an unnamed source told Press TV.
It’s a double bluff — the wily Joo would never leave behind something that pointed to him, so that proves it was someone else.
In Jerusalem, there was no immediate reply from Israeli officials contacted for comment on the report.
They would, but they’re laughing so hard they can’t catch their breath to say anything.
Speaking before the Press TV report, Israeli intelligence minister Eli Cohen told radio station 103 FM he did not know who was responsible.
”Wudn’t us!”
Fakhrizadeh, who had little public profile in Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... but had been named by Israel as a prime player in what it says is Iran’s nuclear weapons quest, was killed on Friday when he was ambushed on a highway near Tehran and his car sprayed with bullets.
Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran,
Golly — what an impressive title!
told state TV: "This was a very complicated liquidation that was carried out remotely with electronic devices."
Ahah! Yet another theory of how the Dread Israelis dunnit.
"We have some clues but surely the 'Monafeghin' group was involved and the criminal element behind it is the Zionist regime (Israel) and Mossad," he added, referring to Israel's foreign intelligence service.
"Monafeghin" is a term officials employ to refer to the Gay Paree-based National Council of Resistance® of Iran (NCRI), a bloc of opposition groups in exile that seek an end to Shi’ite Moslemholy manal rule.
The NCRI, in a statement, rejected Shamkhani's accusation.
CEMETERY
Fakhrizadeh was buried at the Emamzade Saleh mosque in northern Tehran on Monday, state TV reported, as the defence minister promised the Islamic Theocratic Republic would retaliate for his killing. Iran’s holy manal and military rulers have blamed Israel for Fakhrizadeh's killing.
Iran's semi-official Fars news agency said on Sunday that Fakhrizadeh had been killed by a machine gun operated by remote control, while the Arabic language Al Alam TV reported the weapons used in the attack were "controlled by satellite".
When asked about potential Iranian reprisals, Cohen told radio station 103: "We have regional intelligence supremacy, and on this matter we are prepared, we are increasing vigilance, in the places where that is required."
Iran's hardline Kayhan daily, whose editor-in-chief is named by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini... , in an opinion piece on Sunday called for an attack on the Israeli port city of Haifa, if an Israeli role in Fakhrizadeh’s killing is proven.
However, today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday... Iran’s rulers are aware of daunting military and political difficulties in attacking Israel. Such an attack would also complicate any effort by U.S. President-elect Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...Candidate for president in 2020. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass.... to revive detente with Tehran after he takes office on Jan. 20.
The Paris-based People’s Mujahedeen of Iran (MEK) is the main member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, an umbrella organization for various Iranian dissident groups. It has in the past been designated a terror organization by the US, the European Union and Japan, although all three later lifted the designation.
