The court also ordered the defendants to pay fines amounting to 17,622,022 pounds

The defendants were accused of violence, arson, and rioting during the "cabinet festivities" between security forces and protests in December 2011 that resulted in 18 deaths and hundreds injured in the festivities that went on for five days..
The original indictment included the referral of 269 defendants to the Cairo criminal court and 24 minors to the juvenile court.
The accusations also included disrupting public facilities, possession of white weapons and Molotov cocktails, in addition to drug possession with the intention of using, practicing medicine without a license, storming the Ministry of Interior’s building to burn it, as well as the destruction of some cars of the Ministry of Health, among other charges.

Anti-infidel rhetoric and logic also motivated the mercenaries. Iran’s regime sentenced Kohan to three years in prison for visiting Israel, though he was issued a conditional release in September. According to the Alliance for Rights of All Minorities (ARAM), Kohan "has been denied legal representation and medical care since his arrest."
The Human Rights Activists News Agency reported in Persian that Kohan wrote a letter in February describing his imprisonment:
"I am a lonely and sad Jew," he wrote, adding that "My hair and beard are white and I suffer from gastrointestinal diseases. My teeth are broken and I can't eat here. I was arrested while I was in the bathroom without warning, and I was tortured and interrogated with my hands and eyes closed. After two days, I was taken to prison with handcuffs and blindfolds."

News of the postponement of a session scheduled to take place on Wednesday came after Israel accused Lebanon of changing its stance in the negotiations one too many times.
"We were officially informed of the postponing of the indirect round of negotiations," a military official told AFP, adding that the request was made by the US, which has been brokering the negotiations.
The official, who asked not to be named, said that a separate US-Lebanese meeting would be held instead and that the "search for common ground" would continue.
Israel and Lebanon, which remain technically at war, opened negotiations on the border dispute under US and UN auspices in October to clear the way for offshore oil and gas exploration.
The postponement came as no surprise after Israel earlier in November warned Lebanon's alleged inconsistency was threatening the landmark talks.
"Lebanon has changed its stance on its maritime border with Israel seven times," Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz said on November 19, complaining that Beirut's latest position contradicted its previous one.
