Am I correct to assume the 3850 men raped are gay men?
The two male-on-male sexual-assault cases I was JAGMAN investigator on involved sailors who weren't gay. One 'target' had mental health issues and later attempted to commit suicide; the second was both junior in rank and "not the brightest bulb in the chandelier."
The perpetrators, however, were homosexual (one was HIV+).
The City Reporter, a newspaper based in Rostov-on-Don, says it lost two-thirds of its readers after deciding to publish only good news for a day.
Their website asked its readers: "Do you feel like you are surrounded by negative information? You don't want to read the news in the morning? Do you think good news is a myth? We'll try to prove the opposite tomorrow!"
As promised, on December 1 the website carried only happy headlines such as, "No disruption on the roads despite snow." Another announced that an underpass would be built in time for Victory Day.
As uplifting as they were meant to be, the positive news stories sent readership numbers plummeting. Deputy editor Viktoriya Nekrasova said, "We looked for positives in the day's news, and we think we found them. But it looks like almost nobody needs them. That's the trouble."
The following day, the City Reporter decided to return to car crashes and burst water pipes.
An only-good-news day here at Rantburg would be terrifying, as we waited for myriad unseen shoes to drop.

One can always read the comics, sports section or TV guide. The rest can line the canary cage. However, many people read the news on their computer, IPad or Kindle. That makes it difficult to use it for canary cage liner.
Exactly the kind of criminality terror groups engage in for general fund-raising... but so do ordinary criminals. Placed in Non-Wot until evidence appears to mandate moving to WoT.
[AnNahar] A Lebanese man has been accused of running an infant formula theft ring based in the U.S. State of Texas.
Wassim Hassan Elsaleh, also known as Sam Saleh, faced a court hearing Wednesday in Houston to secure an attorney.
Federal prosecutors said the 36-year-old Elsaleh was placed in durance vile Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'! Tuesday on a charge of conspiracy to traffic in the interstate transportation of stolen goods.
The six-count indictment said Elsaleh, a legal permanent resident from Leb who lives in Houston, ran the scam since 2012.
Investigators said Elsaleh knew people who stole infant formula and other products from drug stores, then sold him the items. Elsaleh allegedly had the labels removed, added new packaging and then sold and shipped the stolen goods to out-of-state wholesalers.

...The International Monetary Fund recently released the latest numbers for the world economy. And when you measure national economic output in “real” terms of goods and services, China will this year produce $17.6 trillion — compared with $17.4 trillion for the U.S.A.
As recently as 2000, we produced nearly three times as much as the Chinese.
To put the numbers slightly differently, China now accounts for 16.5% of the global economy when measured in real purchasing-power terms, compared with 16.3% for the U.S.

WELCOME, AMERIKA, + SSSSHHHH ... CCCCCC GUAM-WESTPAC, TO OWG GLOBALISM!, where Amerikans lead the way as per Anti-American OWG-NWO.
Perhaps youse hoid [heard] of it???

* GUAM-WESTPAC > means the proverbial clock is ticking faster toward military combat loss or voluntary handover of Guam, CNMI?, etal. by the US to China, or in alternate Nuclear Islam, in order to avoid Mutually-Destructive Nuclear War.
As a reminder, 1960's-70's GUAM TAOTAMONAS = 1990's, post-9-11 HUGO CHAVEZ + RED BERET, PARROT = As the US falls back across the Pacific, may sink, damage, or otherwise destroy strategic Pacific islands wid "Earthquake/Tectonic Bombs"
[Su-Surface EMP, Fracking?] in order to deny to Enemies.
WHAT THE USDOD'S SPACE BOYZ IN THE 21ST CENTURY + POST-9-11 GWOT LIKE TO CALL OR LABEL AS "A2/AREA-DENIAL".
Denying an Enemy State(s) effective GEOPOL + BATTLESPACE as an offset agz their superior advantages.
E.g. Globalist Amerika under Globalist POTUS Obama is not only helping IRAN to NUCLEARIZE TOWARDS NUCWEAPS, but is also SSSHHH ... CCCC COVERTLY DENIABLY HELPING IRAN TO EXPAND ITS SPHERE OF INFLUENCE IN THE MIDDLE EAST AS A FUTURE OWG CO-SUPERPOWER, I.E. HELPING IRAN TO PROJECT MILPOL POWER ACROSS ITS OWG UNION, REGION + TRANS-REGIONS, IFF NOT AROUND THE WORLD.
The US already has the technology + is dev new ones.
* FYI MSM-NET > Both Perts + Bloggers have argued that mysterious noises presently being heard in US Cities + Towns, etc, may or is the US Fed Govt. experimenting wid new techs capable of altering normal Geology + Geography - IOW, TECHS CAPABLE OF POSTIVELY OR NEGATIVELY CHANGING/REFORMING THE SURFACE OF THE LAND AS WE KNOW IT TO BE.
Can such techs be used for both MilPol strategic or tactical "offense" as well as MilPol strategic or tatcical"defense" - WHY YES, YES IT CAN!
D *** ng it, but whom notices such things.
Sole Superpower or Co-Superpower ["One of Many"], the US must be able to protect + defend its interests + territories, etc. lest IT LOSES THEM.
IN NATURE AS IN GEOPOLITICS, IFF ITS NOT GROWING ITS DYING.

[DAWN] A literacy cell claimed to have been established by the Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) around three months back does not exist. Betcha it's got a payroll, though.
"A literacy cell was formed at the FDE this August on the directives of the minister of state to improve the enrollment rate and decrease dropout rate in schools. Literacy cell comprises the director general, director literacy, deputy director literacy, assistant, assistant education officer, and inspectors (evaluation)," read an official blurb issued by CADD on November 2. That was 33 days ago.
In reality, no notification has been issued to appoint anyone as director literacy and no other staff members have been hired. No office/room has been reserved this cell either. Payroll, payable in small bills, has been submitted.
"The cell is functioning in air," said a senior officer of FDE. It was supposed to focus on over 27,000 out-of-school children of the federal capital. I get a "divide by zero" error on "target population/staff" calculation.
A senior officer at CADD told Dawn: "It was a good initiative by the minister but I don't know why this project is facing delays," he said, adding that paper work was almost complete and hopefully in the next few days the cell will be formed. "The minister's got lotsa relatives."
It is relevant to note here that the state minister for CADD, Barrister Usman Ibrahim, while addressing at an event held in September at Islamabad College for Boys in connection with World Literacy Cell, also announced that a literacy cell would be established at FDE.

Pakistan ranks among the 10 worst countries on a study of internet freedom across the world, said a global survey released on Thursday. The Freedom on the Internet 2014 report by Freedom House, which has been conducting annual surveys since 1980, found that Pakistan had slipped yet another spot on the index -- falling from the 11-worst in 2013 to 10th this year. The index calculates the internet freedom scores for 65 countries globally based on three criteria: obstacles to internet access, limits placed on internet content, and violations of internet user rights. With an average internet freedom score of 69, the country fell one rank from its previous 11th position and a score of 67 (100=least free, 0=most free). “Pervasive and increased government control on the internet whether in form of censorship or with new surveillance tactics, is limiting freedom of expression and amplifying self-censorship among the internet users in Pakistan,” said Nighat Daad of the Digital Rights Foundation (DRF). “The dangerous trend of introducing draconian and repressive laws to limit the civil liberties in the online space is only an effort to block political dissent and diverse opinions. The Pakistani government should understand that increased internet censorship and data surveillance can only turn this democratic state into a repressive regime,” she added. Pakistan continued its gradual fall during the past four years from its score of 55 and 13th rank from the bottom in 2011. The study shows that violations of Pakistani internet users’ rights have been rapidly increasing over the past four years. This steep decline in user rights experience stemmed mostly from religious intolerance, says the report, which was prepared in collaboration with DRF in Pakistan.

Internet freedom index? Seriously guys, the Internet is the least of Pakistain's problems. In fact, pick any metric you want, I think you can make the argument that Pakistain itself is the 10 worst countries in the world. OK, there's not much Ebola, but that's only due to the shortage of tropical fruit bats.
Hell, the only thing holding it together as a country is the fact that everyone hates everyone else and hopes that one day in the future they can use the auspices of the state to get over on the other guys.
For almost 30 years, the Beretta has been the sidearm of choice for the U.S. Army — but now the Pentagon wants a new pistol, and has put out the word to gun manufacturers: Let the bidding begin.
An Army spokesman said to CNNMoney that officials will be requesting a proposal for a new standard-issue sidearm in January. Smith & Wesson and General Dynamics have already put their names in the ring, and announced the entrance of the M&P to the competition.
A U.S. Army contract is not only a financial windfall, but a boon to the maker’s reputation. Guns chosen by the military frequently hit cult status and are often portrayed in Hollywood action flicks, from James Bond dramas to more modern-day, fast-action thrillers.
The Beretta M9 has been used by the Army since 1985 — and was actually the “lethal weapon” in the 1987 hit, “Lethal Weapon.”
U.S. Army officials haven’t specified if they want lighter handguns, like the Glock model frequently used by police. But it has already switched from the heavy wood-and-metal M-14 of the Vietnam era to the mostly plastic M-16 — and then, to the even lighter M4, CNNMoney said. The 9mm vs. the .40cal vs. the .45cal. debate again. The comments in the article are more interesting than the article. One pistol that was not mentioned is one which I'm curious about. It is the FN57. This, as you might recall, is the pistol which terrorist (and former military shrink) Nidal Hasan shot up Ft. Hood. The pistol is a high velocity 5.7 x 28 mm round with a muzzle velocity of about 2000+ fps. The pistol is pricey. I don't know much about its reliability.

The FN 57x28 Pistol is a quality pistol though mostly plastic and overpriced considering what is available now. Reliable; probably, as it IS an FN. Even with AP (military or LE only) rounds it won't penetrate body armor with plates any better than a 5.56. When you check reloading data the bullet is just a very light version of the 5.56/.223 family.
Small caliber vs. Large. Comes down to what is desired, many Spec Ops who have used the Beretta favor the 45. Depends on the mission.

The "Lethal Weapon" in those movies was not the firearm, it was Mel Gibson's character, Riggs. I swear, journalists are idiots when it comes to firearms and having their entire vision and judgement clouded by irrationality.

I read in the local newspaper that an experienced police officer had a discharge of his duty weapon while going off-duty. He was exiting the police car when his weapon discharged There was no mention of how this happened. The last I knew, they were carrying Glocks. I seem to recall they went from a 9mm Glock to a 45cal Glock.

I wouldn't procure till 2017. The diversity whores in DoD will insist that it would have to be usable by people who can't handle the needed caliber to drop a target on their ass even if you didn't kill'm.

Two top editors at The New Republic are leaving as the liberal political magazine cuts its print publication schedule and plans to invest more in digital media.
Franklin Foer, the editor who oversaw the magazine from 2006 to 2010 and rejoined in 2012, is stepping down and will be replaced by Gabriel Snyder, who comes from Bloomberg Media and is a former editor of Gawker.
Leon Wieseltier, its literary editor who's worked at the magazine for more than 30 years, is also leaving.
The 100-year-old magazine also said it's moving its headquarters to New York from Washington, D.C.
Bought by Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes in March 2012, the magazine publishes 20 times a year but will cut its production schedule to 10 issues as part of "a recalibration of (its) resources" for digital products it plans to launch, wrote New Republic CEO Guy Vidra in a note to the staff.

They are moving from Washington to New York City? They are moving to liberal Mecca.
Stephan Glass'fame was that he made up articles, stories and even quotes and passed them off as real. This justy shows that liberals having difficulty discriminating truth from make-believe.

#6 These people think of themselves as 60es Civil Rights activists---actually, they're the new KKK.
Indeed, that's true. They are the new KKK. They try to control via the tyranny of PC. They don't mind destroying a career using political correctness. They don't want to debate ideas--in fact they want to shut off debate and free speech. The new lynchings take a more subtle turn--they annoy you death slowly with their idiotic and mindless blather. The left would like everyone to be in lock-step, think alike and be mind-numbed robots.
Christmas is a seriously seductive holiday. Some Jews do Hanukkah bushes for that reason, and I suppose having an Islamic tree topper would be just the thing for assimilated Western Muslims to share in the pleasures all around them.

Walmart will turn a red area blue if it could in a New York minute. On November 4 there was a small town rural area that had been dry, no liquor, for 150 years. Faith based alcohol recovery groups setup centers there knowing that their alcoholics could go to any store and never face temptation. The population grew rapidly for the past 5 years and outsiders wanted whisky sales. The faith based groups put 13,000 up to campaign against liquor before the November 4 vote. Walmart who established a store there 2 years ago, tripled that, $45,000 to the campaign FOR LIQUOR sales in that town. Liquor won.

Wal-Mart is just doing what they do, trying to sell stuff to make money. They'd sell refrigerators to the Eskimos if there was any money in it--No matter, that Muslims don't celebrate Christmas. Funny and ironic. Next, they will work on selling crosses or bibles to atheists.
