Islamonazism arose because of Western indulgence of anti-democracy democracy: or one-man-0ne-vote-one-time. We should have supported wholesale repression of those elements. Attaching "freedom" to muslim brotherhood campaigns, is perverse

Well the Asian markets are up at this time as they were Friday. Now those so inclined will be up about 2AM to see what the EU has done to the rest of the world. No 9AM people anymore. Tipper history repeats itself. Spain has defaulted many times in history. Good bank account. Then easy money and credit. Then get owned. I look for a sell to grab as much profit as possible. Then after the holiday, say first of the year, we do it all over again.
The first race was the one where you felt young, invincible and full of hope that you really could change Washington and remake the country. Then it all comes crashing down. Hope stalls, recrimination sets in, once-proud aides and confidants are shoved aside or exiled, best friendships are ruined. Geniuses become idiots overnight. It got crowded under the bus a long time ago.
With the possible exception of Ronald Reagan's 1984 campaign, every president's reelection process since Richard Nixon has followed this script. The phase of glorious victory and disillusionment is followed by a grim determination to prevail in the reelection contest.
This time the motivation may be less lofty: Instead of the joy of winning, it may be more about the fear of losing. There are no more happy warriors. Remember what happens when you corner a weasel.
By this standard, the Obama campaign of 2011 is actually holding up well. Certainly, the collision of hope and change with reality and cynicism has left some battered, and there has been some internal strife. But remarkably little in public, and the campaign leadership of David Plouffe and David Axelrod is still in place. And they are starting to do what they do best: run campaigns, not governments. They've been campaigning since January 20, 2008.
Campaigns at this stage are all about a small group of voters, journalists and operatives paying attention to small tremors in the political seismograph. The Obama team has made sure to send negative waves and greatly affected Romney's readings. Now, they will do the same to Newt Gingrich.
Axelrod is also back to doing what he does best: framing the campaign in the most negative possible light for the eventual opponent. No, really? But this is an admission from an associate.
I have known David since 1984, when he managed Paul Simon's defeat of Charles Percy, and I was part of the media team. David may be the best in our party in drawing the devastating contrast. David is a passionate romantic, and Obama is the political love of his life, and the difficult last few years don't seem to have dulled his ax.
Yesterday, he was in rare form at a journalists' breakfast. "The Republican Party has split into two parties," David told the crowd. "The tea party and the martini party." Calling Gingrich the "Godfather of gridlock," David went on to say that Gingrich has revived despite being "sort of left for dead at the checkout counter at Tiffany's."
Maybe the reelection will be more fun for Obama and Democrats than we thought. It sure beats governing. I'm sure it'll be fun for them. Great sport, watching the Country die.

The trajectory of the current US-Russia acrimony and Putin's success in weathering the furious American onslaught on his political ambitions are of the highest importance to China. If the eagle has actually ended up in a trap it thought it had set up for the bear, that becomes a matter of joy for the dragon.

Clinton should keep her mouth shut. Putin knew this election would be difficult for his party. It was projected before the election his party would lose a majority or close to 50%. That without any help from anyone. The Russian people are doing all of this themselves. China is tolerated. Iran is tolerated. Both can never be trusted. The Russian people want prosperity and hope. Putin wants to blame outside interference for his problems, not his own people."furious American onslaught on his political ambitions" China's wishful thinking. Russia suffered in Afganistan. We are pulling out of Iraq and Afganistan. The Russian people must see our efforts were not a threat to them now. They dress western, they enjoy western music, and they produce allot of their own modern music. Stalin feared his people would be contaminated by western ideas. They have and for the better.
You can't put them back on the farm when they have seen gay Parie.

Many CHINA BLOGGERS still support the idea of China reclaiming lost ancient territories andor taking over the Russian Far East + Central AMAP, to includ as far as the Caucasus Mountains.
In their minds + Beijing, WEAK/DECLINING RUSSIA = WEAK/DECLINING US SUPERPOWER.
E.G. CHINA DAILY FORUM > CHINA'S NEW ECONOMIC ENGINE - ESTABLISHING NEW CITIES IN FAR WEST [West China = Xinjian-based SEZ-EEZ "Hubs" linked to CENTASIA/FORMER SOVIET SSRS].

JM hello. Day by day I see more stress in China. As in Russia the people want more out of life. Check this video out and some of the others they have. Those that govern are insulating themselves from those they govern. Like a caste system.
Chuck Simmins makes a great point. And you should be checking in on his website on a daily basis.

Newt Gingrich is correct. The Palestinians were invented as a nation.
So what? There are a great many invented nations in the world today. No one suggests that Timor is invented or that the bloody Congo is invented.
History will not change the present. Israel has to deal with the Palestinians in 2011, no matter who they were in 1948 or 1917 or 800 AD. The harsh reality that everyone resists is that you ALWAYS have to deal with things as they are, and not with things the way you wish they would be.
Obama has muddied the waters in the Middle East very badly. Rick Perry said it best in last nights debate. This president is the problem, not something Newt Gingrich said.
Our priority as a nation should be the support of Israel. They may make mistakes and we can deal with those as allies do, not with public condemnation and petty wrist slapping. No other nation in the Middle East ought to be closer to the United States as Israel.
But, and it is a big but, only Israel and the people who call themselves Palestinians can solve their issues in the end. We can support a process but they are the ones who will have to live with each other. Only those two parties can agree upon a solution that both can support. Our meddling helps nothing.

It's only the media who are making a big deal out Newt's comments. His honesty is refreshing. Not much truth coming from the media or Washington.

All that Zero ever thinks is how the levers of power can reward his friends, who in the future, will reward him (the Chicago Way), and how every decision is view through the prism of his personal prestige, power and reelection. Any decision that does not first meet those criteria, even if it is good for the American people, is avoided whenever possible. Voting Present (inaction) is always better than no, which might have a downside for him. The pipeline from Canada to the Gulf refineries is a perfect example. Postpone iuntil 2013 for "environment considerations". What a gutless, venal, stupid, ignoble POS the naive American people have put in their highest office. This man is a stain on the Presidency.

The only containing of Iran that would occur would be a nuke in an ISO container at either Long Beach, Newark or Andover.
We're going to have a nasty terrorist act sometime before the election and and I hope and pray his political correctness, naivety, and blissful ignorance of the situation is not shared by those in the shadows who protect us.

g(r)om, I think BHO is still in total denial about America's rejection of him and his policies. This is just who he is. God help us when he figures out what's really going on, and gets punitive.

How may American + WOrld History be altered, + by extension American-specific "Manifest Destiny", iff the Battle of the LBH did NOT occur + certain influential circles in Washington, DC had succeeded in setting up sovereign tribal homelands = Countries for various Indian tribes in CONUS.
Ditto for CANADA???
THE MODERN MAP OF CONUS-NORAM[CANUS] WOULD LOOK FAR DIFFERENT THAN IT DOES TODAY.
And thusly, Virgina, we learn once again "DECISIVE/HEAVENLY BATTLE" is called or labeled as such.
