[Newsmax] A subpoena seeking documents from Hunter Biden asked for information related to more than two dozen entities, including Ukraine gas company Burisma, according to a person familiar with a Justice Department tax investigation of President-elect Joe Biden's son.
The breadth of the subpoena, issued Tuesday, underscores the wide-angle lens prosecutors are taking as they examine the younger Biden’s finances and international business ventures.
Hunter Biden's ties to Burisma in particular have long dogged the policy work and political aspirations of his father, Joe Biden, now the president-elect of the United States. It's unclear whether Hunter Biden's work at the Ukrainian company is a central part of the federal investigation or whether prosecutors are simply seeking information about all his sources of income in recent years.
The person was not authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
A lawyer for the younger Biden, George Mesires, did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment for this story and a spokesman for the Biden transition team declined to comment.
Hunter Biden confirmed Wednesday that his taxes are under federal investigation. The revelation comes at a delicate time for the president-elect, who is building out his Cabinet and will soon decide on his nominee to run the Justice Department, the same department overseeing the investigation into his son.
In addition to the Burisma-related request, the subpoena issued last week also seeks information on Hunter Biden's Chinese business dealings and other financial transactions.

Indeed.
1. Money laundering - as with the Bidens' Chinese partner, front man for ChiComs Philip Ho, who's now in prison for same
2. Bribery of foreign officials -- see above: Ho again, and Biden's likely guilty as well
3. Money laundering, again: see Hunter's $3.5 million "loan" from Yuri Luzhkov's ex-wife, a billionaire thief based in Moscow
4. Securities fraud / Defrauding investors -- see Bobulinski's revelations
5. Perjury - Big Guy for sure, Hunter prob'y as well
6. Misuse of company funds - see Hunter's million dollar escapades and hotel binges involving crack, hookers, strippers, perhaps underage girls as well
7. Solicitation and sex crimes / statutory rape (definitely subpoena Hunter's 14 year-old niece and her mom, who was terrified that Hunter -- her former lover -- was moving in on the daughter as well ... cf Hunter's text messages)
[WSJ] President Trump has expressed interest in pursuing the appointment of a special counsel to investigate allegations of fraud in the November elections and issues related to Hunter Biden, according to people familiar with the matter.
In recent days, the president has directed advisers to look for people who could serve in such a position, one of the people said, as lawsuits and other efforts by Mr. Trump and his campaign to reverse the election results flounder. White House officials and allies of the president on Capitol Hill and elsewhere have also pushed for the appointment of a special counsel, another person familiar with the discussions said.
White House chief of staff Mark Meadows has told people that the president is interested in pursuing a special counsel to investigate election fraud and wants to act quickly, one of the people said.

Plugs already has his AG. President Trump's reluctance to fire Barr clearly represents "proof of purchase." Barr's recent announcement regarding a continuation of the Durham investigation was telling.
Any statement regarding the status of ongoing investigations should come in the form of a closely held briefing and recommendation to the incoming AG.
The Friday 11 Dec meeting: Barr likely informed POTUS that Plugs had asked him stay on and assist the transition. The not so subtle message; 'no need to run my arse off, I'll be back in three weeks and very angry.'
[MRCTV.ORG] In the midst of scratching their heads over Governor Mike DeWine’s (R) Dec. 7 extension of his bizarre, unconstitutional "curfew" to guard against a virus that, evidently, becomes more deadly after 10 pm and before 5 am, Ohio residents might have missed the bizarre "high school sports" edict issued on Dec. 4...That’s the command that high school wrestlers are "permitted" to wrestle, but before and after the match, participants are...
...forbidden from shaking hands.
WLWT5 reports:
“Among the new rules is student-athletes are permitted to wrestle, but must refrain from handshakes before and after the match.“
Thank goodness. Or is it, "thank government?" After all, who knows where those HANDS might have been? Heck, they might have been attached to wrestlers who were breathing, sweating, and drooling on each other in their struggle for dominance on the mat. So... er... Yeah.
Then there’s the added genius of this rule:
“Wrestlers are also required to wear facial coverings off the mat when not actively competing or warming up.“
Because, as anyone knows, when the wrestlers aren’t wrapped up with competitors like human pretzels, they might encounter the breath of another human being.
And there’s this:
“All those on the team bench also need to observe social distancing of 6 feet.“
Because...
Well...
Sure, when wrestling with a maskless opponent, competitors DO break the sorcery of the magic six-foot barrier and exchange a lot of fluids -- they do BREATHE all over their opponents -- but. Um... It LOOKS good and quite fascist ...anybody you disagree with, damn them... ically uniform if a news hound takes a photo of the team on the bench and they’re all spaced apart like masked soldiers on review.

[The Hill] The FBI has reportedly issued at least one federal subpoena for records from the office of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) amid an investigation over allegations of bribery and abuse of office.
Local outlet KVUE reported on Thursday that the subpoena was issued the day prior, however it is not immediately clear what information was requested by the FBI.
Agency spokeswoman Michelle Lee declined to comment to the outlet. The Hill has reached out Paxton’s office.
The subpoena comes amid an ongoing investigation after members of Paxton's staff raised red flags about actions Paxton allegedly took to benefit Nate Paul, an Austin investor and wealthy donor.

"Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius." is a phrase reportedly spoken by the commander of the Albigensian Crusade, prior to the massacre at Béziers on 22 July 1209. A direct translation of the Latin phrase is "Kill them. For the Lord knows those that are His own."

[AlAhram] Twitter Inc said on Saturday it had "inadvertently" limited engagements for a brief period on U.S. President Donald Trump ...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US... 's tweets with "disputed" labels but later reversed its action.
Some users on the social media platform had noticed earlier on Saturday that the ability to like, re-tweet or reply to Trump's tweets with a "disputed" label was not working.
"We inadvertently took action to limit engagements on the labeled Tweet you referenced. This action has been reversed", a Twitter front man told Rooters in an emailed statement.
The White House did not respond to a request for comment.
The development was earlier reported by The Verge and The Hill.
Twitter has recently added multiple warnings and labels to tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account of the U.S. president, including many that have made unfounded allegations of voting fraud in the U.S. elections.
Trump also made such tweets on Saturday, including one in which he falsely claimed that he won the election in a "landslide" in "legal votes". Twitter flagged them with a label saying: "This claim about election fraud is disputed".
The social media platform first hid one of his tweets behind a "public interest" label in May when the president violated the company's policy against glorifying violence.
Trump will be subject to the same Twitter rules as any other user when President-elect Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...Candidate for president in 2020. You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier... takes office on Jan. 20, the social media company said last month.
Twitter places "public interest" notices on some rule-breaking tweets from "world leaders" that would otherwise be removed.
Such tweets from political candidates and elected or government officials are instead hidden by a warning and Twitter takes actions to restrict their reach. This treatment does not apply to former office holders.
YouTube Blocks Trump Campaign’s 2 New Election Fraud Ads
[NTD] YouTube has removed two new ads from the Trump campaign, which allege widespread corruption in the 2020 election and call on voters to contact state legislators “to demand a free and fair election.”
Clicking the links to the ads takes viewers to YouTube, featuring a black screen with the following message overlaid: “This video has been removed for violating YouTube’s Community Guidelines.”
YouTube did not immediately respond to a query regarding the reason for blocking the ads.
CPAC 2021 plots alternative to broadcasting on YouTube
[WashingtonExaminer] The 2021 edition of the Conservative Political Action Conference, heading to Orlando, Florida, is likely to offer its own streaming app now that YouTube has moved to bar videos questioning the 2020 election.
Because one thing is for sure: CPAC speakers will be questioning the election, drawing attention to fraud, and calling for massive reforms of problem-plagued state election systems.
Organizers think that the voice leading that call at the Feb. 25-28 event will be President Trump himself. While there is no commitment from Trump, he has attended every conference since 2009 and credits many of his conservative leanings to what he’s heard there.
His attendance would change the nature of the four-day conference. Typically, in a year that marks a new presidency, potential GOP candidates flock to CPAC for attention.
"Will he be running in 2024, or will he be a kingmaker at CPAC?" asked one conservative leader.

[NYPOST] New York City’s iconic 21 Club restaurant is closing down after 90 years of good food and even better celebrity intrigue.
The historic Midtown eatery — a favorite haunt for John Steinbeck, Ernest Hemingway and Frank Sinatra, and a dining spot for nearly every president since FDR — has shuttered its jockeys-guarded doors indefinitely, a rep told The Post.
Its 148 employees have been told that they’ll all be out of a job as of early March.
"The company is exploring potential opportunities that will allow 21 Club to remain a viable operation in the long term, while retaining its distinctive character," a spokesperson told The Post.
"At this early stage, we are not ready to announce any final concept or timeframe, but the vision is that 21 Club will always remain an important social and cultural hub and icon of New York, one that is well positioned to fulfill its role in the City’s exciting future when the time comes."
News of 21’s closing came just hours after Gov. Cuomo announced that indoor dining will shut down yet again throughout the state on Monday due to increasing COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths.

[MSN] Oracle Corp. said it has moved its headquarters to Texas, from its home state of California to give employees more flexibility on where they do their jobs.
The move to Austin from Redwood City “means that many of our employees can choose their office location as well as continue to work from home part time or all of the time,” Oracle said Friday in a regulatory filing. The company will continue “to support” its other U.S. office locations in Santa Monica, California, Seattle, Denver, Orlando and Burlington, Massachusetts, according to the filing.
BILLIONS SAVED: What moving to Texas could mean for Elon Musk
The spread of the coronavirus has prompted many companies to give staffers flexible arrangements, including the ability to work from home. The software maker said it had 135,000 employees as of the end of May. Some companies, executives and employees are ditching California because of concerns over the state’s tax rates and high cost of living, as well as arduous commutes in some locales.
Oracle’s shift of resources away from California dates at least to 2018, led by Chairman Larry Ellison and the late co-Chief Executive Officer Mark Hurd. That year, Oracle opened a campus in Austin, featuring an on-site apartment building for employees, in an effort to recruit a younger and less costly workforce. The campus could eventually host 10,000 staffers, Oracle said at the time.
TECH RENAISSANCE: HP Enterprise's move to Houston means a lot to Bayou City
Started in 1977, Oracle has been a foundational company in Silicon Valley and its silver-blue cylindrical buildings in Redwood City, visible from U.S. Highway 101, are the rare landmark in the otherwise sprawling region. It follows other tech innovators in de-emphasizing their California roots. Server maker Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. said Dec. 1 that it would move headquarters to a Houston suburb, where it is building a new campus. Palantir Technologies Inc. has relocated to Denver this year, from Palo Alto, California.
Tesla Inc. founder Elon Musk said this week that he’s moved to Texas to focus on big projects under way for Tesla as well as Space Exploration Technologies Corp., which he also runs. He previously moved his private foundation, which was based in California, to Austin. Moving carries enormous tax implications for high net worth individuals. Texas has no personal income tax, while California imposes the highest personal income levies in the nation on its richest residents.

Lord, Austin is now as liberal as CA. All the tech companies that started moving to Austin in the 80s and 90s dubbed Austin as Silicon Hills. And they brought their politics with them. Austin has always been blue, it's gotten worse. Homeless camps now have potties, showers, running water, etc. Police cut by 150B with incredible up tick in crime, etc.....
[Chicago Tribune] The conservative-controlled Wisconsin Supreme Court agreed on Friday to hear arguments over the weekend on President Donald Trump ...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election... ’s state lawsuit seeking to disqualify more than 221,000 ballots and overturn his loss to Democrat Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...Candidate for president in 2020. I had the great honor of being arrested with our UN Ambassador on the streets of Soweto, trying to get to see him on Robbens Island... in the battleground state. The court’s decision to take the case, and to hear arguments on Saturday, came hours after a lower court judge ruled against Trump and said there was nothing illegal about the election or subsequent recount in the state’s two largest counties. The highly unusual Saturday arguments will come exactly 48 hours before Monday’s scheduled Electoral College vote.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court court previously refused to hear Trump’s state case before it went through the lower courts. A majority of justices have also openly questioned whether disqualifying the ballots, as Trump wants, would be appropriate.
But Trump is now getting a chance to argue the merits of the case before the court controlled 4-3 by conservatives.
He suffered a total defeat in a lower court on Friday, with Reserve Judge Stephen Simanek ruling against every argument Trump made challenging ballots in the state’s two largest counties, saying the election was properly administered and that there was no wrongdoing as the president alleged.

At this point I don't hold out much hope.
I feel the State Courts are just crossing "t's" and doting "i's" for legal an public narrative issues, having already made up their minds back PRE-ELECTION.
It also allows the Socialist-Democrats to stick it Trump one last time.
At least then New Yorkers would be spared the heavy weight of his hand...
[NEWS.YAHOO] New York Gov. Andrew Sonny Cuomo is one of several contenders under consideration by President-elect Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...Candidate for president in 2020. Old, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant... for the role of attorney general, a person with knowledge of the search process said Friday. The other three contenders at the moment include outgoing Alabama Sen. Doug Jones, federal appeals court judge Merrick Garland and former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, said the person, who cautioned that no decision had been reached and no announcement was expected imminently.
The person was not authorized to discuss the search process by name and spoke on condition of anonymity to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.
The AP reported earlier in the week that Jones, who lost his Senate seat last month, and Garland, who was spurned by Republicans four years ago for a spot on the Supreme Court, had emerged as the two front-runners in the search process.
Spokespeople for Cuomo did not immediately return emails seeking comment Friday.

Perfect. A mass murderer for the nation's Top Lawman. Makes sense
The man whose actions caused thousands of elderly nursing home residents to become infected and die is actually proposed as the head of the Justice Department
The man who enabled vaccines to be developed at a lightning rate and whose top official urged an end to the lockdown is accused of killing us.
The demented old sod who sat in his basement and collected Chinese payola through his crackhead son is hailed as America's savior.
The man who deliberately built up the deadliest threat to the Middle East is given the Nobel Peace Prize.
The man who brought peace to the Middle East is called a "chaotic" warmonger and chucked out on his ass
These people are either batshit crazy or sick mofo's trying to drive us crazy with their night-is-day up-is-down Big Lies

She said afterwards she would be giving up her position as ranking member on the judiciary committee.
Now, it has been reported Ms Feinstein’s mental and cognitive decline has been apparent to many people for several years.
The New Yorker said the situation was such that Mr Schumer, 70, the senator from New York and leader of the Democrats in the Senate, was forced to intervene personally after the Supreme Court confirmation hearing.
"Schumer had several serious and painful talks with Feinstein, according to well-informed sources. Overtures were also made to enlist the help of Feinstein’s husband, Richard Blum. Feinstein, meanwhile, was surprised and upset by Schumer’s message," she said the article, by chief Washington correspondent Jane Mayer.

[THEEPOCHTIMES] President Donald Trump ...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election... ’s legal team is planning on filing retooled lawsuits, his lawyer said Saturday."We move immediately, seamlessly, to plan B, which is to bring lawsuits now in each one of the states. We had them ready. They’re just a version of the one that was brought in the Supreme Court. So last night, the president made the decision," Rudy Giuliani said during an appearance on "War Room: Pandemic."
Texas filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court against Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Michigan, alleging the elections there were run contrary to the Constitution. The nation’s top court rejected the suit late Friday.
Trump’s team is going to file suits or has already filed in the four states as well as Arizona and Nevada. The suits will incorporate allegations in the complaint filed by Texas.
"If the state doesn’t have standing, surely the president of the United States has standing. And certainly the electors in the states have standing. So they will be bringing those very cases right in those courts, starting today," Giuliani said. "And let’s see what excuse they can try to use to avoid having a hearing on that."
Courts have been using the matter of standing to dodge facing the facts, he alleged, adding, "Nobody wants to face the reality that this election was stolen."

They always underestimate Trump. He has exposed so much crime and corruption. The rot runs deep. Clear the rot and you will see a pathetically weak perverted pile of miscreant.
Remember over the summer when AOC blamed the spike in crime in New York City on parents stealing food to feed their families?
She was roundly ridiculed for that, of course, but now Seattle hopes to make AOC's fantasy a reality by creating an affirmative defense for theft if you intended to sell the stolen items for "basic needs" like food or rent.
It's called "the poverty defense," and would not only make stealing legal, but apparently fencing items as well, and would cover over 100 misdemeanor crimes.

Someone smarter than me might know to contradict this, but the theory of Prosecutorial Discretion is based on prioritizing resources to deal with various violations of the law by a District Attorney. I cannot imagine that can be stretched, even by democrat lawyers, in any credible way, to voiding whole classes of crime that are standard, legal, and previously enforced. The DA isn't royalty or a legislature, he is oath bound to prosecute crime and enforce the law (all the law, not just the ones he agrees with). So this action seems to constitute a crime itself, malfeasance in office, and would seem to call for his arrest and prosecution. What am I missing beside the usual democrat presumption that they have the moral authority to disregard things they don't like?
