[Al Ahram] Sudan's military Wednesday said a cross-border attack by Æthiopian forces and militias left causalities among Sudanese troops, a development that could strain ties between the two neighbors.
The military said in a statement that the attack took place late Tuesday as forces were returning from a sweep of the Abu Tyour area in the al-Qadarif province along the border with Æthiopia.
The statement did not say how many troops were killed or maimed.
Separately, military officials said the attack left at least four troops, including a major, dead and maimed a dozen others. They said the military sent enforcement to the borders with Æthiopia. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to brief the media.
There was no immediate comment from Æthiopia.
Sudan deployed more than 6,000 troops to the border at the start of fighting in Æthiopia's Tigray region that pitted the federal government against regional authorities last month.
Æthiopia Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed declared victory in the fight. However, man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them... festivities between Æthiopian federal and regional forces have continued.
The fighting in Tigray has sent over 52,000 Æthiopian refugees into Sudan, mostly in al-Qadarif. The influx of refugees adds to Sudan's economic and security burdens.
Tuesday's attack on the Sudanese troops came three days after Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok met with the Æthiopian leader in Addis Ababa.

[AnNahar] Algerian security forces have arrested four Islamists, while another heavily armed krazed killer handed himself in, the defense ministry said in a statement Tuesday.
The Islamist who surrendered was in possession of a machine gun, two rocket-propelled grenade launchers and ammunition, in Tamanrasset, in the extreme south of the country near the border with Mali, the statement said.
The arrests take the number of people detained on suspicion of supporting "terrorist groups" to 17 across the country since the start of December, according to the ministry.
Algerian authorities use the term "terrorist" to describe armed Islamists who have been active in the country since the early 1990s.
On December 1, the ministry reported that three Islamists had been killed in festivities with the army in the northeastern province of Jijel, and said the following day that an Algerian soldier had been killed in festivities in the same area.
State media has reported that the army recently thwarted a plan by al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) to redeploy.
AQIM's leader Abdelmalik Droukdel ... aka Abdel Wadoud, was a regional leader of the GSPC for several years before becoming the group's supremo in 2004 following the death of then-leader Nabil Sahraoui. Under Abdel Wadoud's leadership the GSPC has sought to develop itself from a largely domestic entity into a larger player on the international terror stage. In September 2006 it was announced that the GSPC had joined forces with al-Qaeda and in January 2007 the group officially changed its name to the Al-Qaeda Organization in the Islamic Maghreb.... was killed in June by French forces in northern Mali, but was replaced in November by Abu Obaida Yusuf al-Annabi, a well-known AQIM veteran and Algerian national.
[Al Ahram] The leader of the ethnic-Armenian controlled enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh accused Azeri forces on Wednesday of capturing several dozen of its troops despite a ceasefire deal that ended six-weeks of fighting over the region. The region’s defence ministry said earlier it had lost contact with several military positions on Tuesday and it had carried out search operations throughout the night, but failed to find them.

[DW] Germany is resuming deportations of rejected asylum-seekers to Afghanistan, which had been suspended with the first wave of coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... in March. The move has triggered fierce criticism. I'd give "Fierce Criticism" all the respect it deserves: a rifle butt to the face
Around 40 rejected asylum-seekers from Afghanistan have arrived in Kabul, according to Afghanistan's Refugee Affairs Ministry.
Among them is a 21-year-old whom the German refugee organization Fluchtlingsrat Berlin describes as a heavily traumatized individual. The young Afghan was in a German prison for various petty crimes and was due to be released in January. "We don't want to belittle his crimes," the organization writes in a press statement. "But we think it is irresponsible of Germany — at a time of an international pandemic — to rid itself of an individual who came to Berlin as an underage refugee, after having suffered traumatizing events in his childhood."
Several German refugee NGOs had sounded alarms over Wednesday's planned deportation flight from Leipzig/Halle airport. The last deportation from Germany to Afghanistan was on March 11, just before the government in Kabul asked for a freeze, as it was struggling to cope with the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
'DEPORTEES FACE THREATS TO THEIR LIVES'
Afghanistan is one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Over the past 10 years, over 100,000 civilians have bit the dust there. The Afghan government and the krazed killer Islamist Taliban ...Arabic for students... are currently in peace talks. But violence has increased markedly this year, with the deputy governor of Kabul and a renowned journalist among the most recent casualties.
Why the Afghan government agreed to accept the deportees now in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic is unclear. Afghanistan analyst Thomas Ruttig, with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Ideas, suspects a link to the Afghanistan donors' conference that was held on November 23 and 24 in Geneva, Switzerland ...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell... . There all participating countries signed a final document committing themselves to facilitate the return of rejected Afghan asylum-seekers.
PANDEMIC FURTHER THREATENS HEALTH, WELFARE
Pro Asyl says it has learned that several individuals who had been scheduled for the deportation flight got German courts to halt procedures, pointing to the security situation as well as the pandemic, which would make it impossible for the returnees to be able to earn a living in the war-torn country.
The German Interior Ministry has also confirmed that the Afghan government has demanded all asylum-seekers test negative for the coronavirus before being deported. There has been no information on regulations on the protection measures for accompanying security personnel.
Germany is not the only country to resume deportations to Afghanistan. Earlier this week there were also reports of deportation flights from Austria and Bulgaria.
[Breitbart] French officials indicted seven far-left Antifa ...the armed wing of the Democratic Party... anarchist Death Eaters in Gay Paree for forming a criminal terrorist organization, after security services foiled an alleged plot to commit violence against police and soldiers.
The seven ultra-left krazed killers, six men and one woman, are aged between 30 and 36. Five have been kept in jug while two others were released under judicial supervision.
The domestic French security service, the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI), dismantled the network, with arrests taking place in Toulouse ...lies on the banks of the River Garonne, half-way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The Toulouse metropolitan area is the fourth-largest in La Belle France... , Cubjac, Vitry-sur-Seine, and Rennes last week, Le Gay Pareeien reports.
While conducting searches of properties tied to the suspects, Sherlocks found hunting rifles, ammunition, and several substances used to make bombs.
The members of the far-left group are also said to have trained on private land in some form of weapons tactics, using an airsoft club as a cover.
The leader of the group, 36-year-old Florian D., is also said to have travelled to northeastern Syria where he fought with the Kurdish YPG forces during their festivities with Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... in Rojava.
In April 2018, a group of French Antifa bandidossnuffies in Afrin, who were fighting Ottoman Turkish forces, vowed to return to La Belle France and fight the French state after President Emmanuel Macron’s government evicted far-left squatters.
"Our priority targets are the Ottoman Turkish state and the French state, as well as all the fascist ...anybody you disagree with, damn them... groups," the bandidossnuffies said, and vowed to use guerilla tactics to attack police, military, and intelligence officials who they labelled "powerful but not invulnerable".
According to Le Gay Pareeien, Florian D. returned to La Belle France in 2018 and was on the anti-terrorism watchlist known as the S-File. He is currently unemployed and has no fixed address.
A source also told the newspaper that several other members of the network were believed to have been under observation by the French intelligence services.
Across many parts of Europe, Antifa bandidossnuffies have been shown to have links not only to the Kurdish YPG but also to the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which is banned in many European countries as well as the UK.
Earlier this year in Austria, ultra-nationalist Ottoman Turkish Grey Wolves attacked Antifa members and PKK supporters in Vienna, with Austrian officials placing blame on Ottoman Turkish Islamist President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important... for stoking tensions in the country.
In Germany, controversy erupted in Hamburg after it was revealed that a constitutional judge was linked to both Antifa and the PKK and gave speeches about representing members of the PKK in court cases at the notorious Rote Flora Antifa squat.

[Breitbart] A Pak migrant drug pusher in Athens has been accused of taking two teenaged girls prisoner before drugging them both and raping one in his apartment.
Police stated the girls, Greeks aged 16 and 17, had claimed that the man had held them captive in his fifth-floor apartment and had threatened them with violence, saying he would kill them if they tried to leave.
According to a report from Greek newspaper Proto Thema, the migrant raped one of the girls, while violent mostly peacefully assaulting the other.
Eventually, the pair managed to escape and ran down a street shouting for help in the early hours of Monday. Police found the teens, who were being pursued by the half-naked man. Officers then subdued and arrested the drug pusher.
During a search of the apartment, police found 49 packages of cannabis, 70 pills of the date-rape drug Rohypnol, and an undisclosed amount of heroin. Police believe the man sold the drugs on the streets of Athens.
The case comes just weeks after Greek police in the capital undertook a manhunt for another migrant, also believed to be Pak, who raped a woman while wrapping a thick metal chain around her neck to subdue her.
In July, two Pak migrants colonists were sentenced to 14 and nine years in prison after kidnapping a 17-year-old boy, blackmailing, and raping him in the city of Thessaloniki.
The two men, aged 25 and 29, kept the teen captive for around 24 hours and forced him to contact his uncle living in Spain, demanding he send the two men cash. They then filmed themselves stripping boy naked and threatening to publish the footage if they were not paid.

I understand the Ewwropean Union has callously pared away all dignity from citizens of its captive member States; but are even the indigenous criminal undergrounds without any self respect?
A decent underworld would not tolerate Paki scum operating in their turf protected by stupid laws.

[NYPOST] Last week, Portland law enforcers raided a house that had for months been illegally occupied by trespassers affiliated with Black Lives Matter and Antifa ...the armed wing of the Democratic Party... . At the barricaded property, officers made arrests and found a stockpile of firearms.
The African-American Kinney family have described themselves as “sovereign citizens,” likely members of the century-old Moorish Sovereign Citizens movement (also known as Indigenous Moors), that along with the Nation of Islam is a troublesome offshoot of the Moorish Science Temple cult that has claimed that African-Americans (“Moors”) are the true original inhabitants of North America, and therefore exempt from American laws while being the true owners of all property within its borders. Also, they believe themselves to be Muslim, leaning heavily, like the Mormons, on long lost chapters of the Koran secretly revealed to their founding prophet.
Under normal circumstances, the armed trespassers would be prosecuted, and that would be the end of the story. But in riot-plagued Portland, Oregon, things are very far from normal.
The city’s "progressive" district attorney immediately dropped the charges against the occupiers, and their comrades soon sent in reinforcements to build a sprawling autonomous zone in the middle of a densely populated residential area.
The murderous Moslems called the place the Red House Autonomous Zone — named after the red-painted house occupied at the heart of the zone. In doing so, they took inspiration from the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone in Seattle, Washington. During the summer, leftist Death Eaters chased police out of a six-block area of the Emerald City and drew their own "borders," complete with checkpoints manned by armed "security." The three-week experiment in lawlessness ended in mass vandalism, attempted rape, multiple shootings and two homicides.

To recap, the Portland antifettes staged an armed insurrection in support of some folks who consider themselves to be Sovereign Citizens. Not one of the insurgents will spend so much as a night in jail. You have to conclude that Wheeler the Mayor and Schmidt the DA are (1) personally terrified of the antifettes or (2) in league with the antifettes or (3) both, but are willing to make some pretense of maintaining law and order so the normies don't take their property taxes down the road to one of Oregon's many red jurisdictions (or to Idaho or Texas). Portland has or had an awful lot going for it economically, but that will change quickly if property rights are no longer legally enforceable.

[AnNahar] Escalating attacks on the Iraqi capital's few liquor stores have terrified shop-owners who fear hardline Islamists are flexing their muscle against alcohol consumption.
But there may be a bigger story behind the Baghdad booze bombings, as some suspect pie fights for control of the lucrative niche trade in the Moslem majority country.
Over the past two months, at least 14 alcohol shops across the city have been Molotov cocktailed in the middle of the night or just before dawn, with three simultaneous attacks in different districts Monday night alone.

[THEBAGHDADPOST] An Iraqi anti-government protester was rubbed out in east Baghdad by masked button men on Tuesday evening, according to a security source, a medic and an activist network.
Salah al-Iraqi was well-known for his active role in the rallies that erupted in Iraq's capital and the Shiite-majority south last year, slamming the government as corrupt, inefficient and beholden to neighbouring Iran.
Iraqi was killed in the capital's Baghdad al-Jadida district, according to a medic, a security source and the Iraqi Network for Social Media (INSM), a collection of activists who reported on the protests and their aftermath.
All three sources confirmed to AFP that Iraqi died on his arrival at the nearby Sheikh Zayed hospital.
Baghdad al-Jadida is a few kilometres (miles) from Tahrir Square, the epicentre of the capital's protests from where Iraqi, always energetic, would broadcast live footage.
INSM said he had already been targeted twice before Tuesday's shooting.
In his last post on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon, Iraqi had written: "The innocent die while the cowards rule."

[Post Millennial] A Seattle City Council Member who was at the forefront of the effort to defund the Seattle Police Department, called 911 Friday night for a crime that she is pushing to legalize.
As first reported by police sources to the neighborhood safety group Safe Seattle, Council Member Lisa Herbold called 911 and requested the police for criminal damage done to her home, a crime that the council member is pushing to legalize.
Allegedly a man threw a rock through Herbold's window. In a redacted police report, Herbold told responding officers that she "was on the west side of the living room near the kitchen when she heard a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot and dove into the kitchen for cover."
A witness said he saw an "…unathletic and a bad runner" leaving the scene. The suspect was described as a clean shaven, white male in a black hoodie and jeans.
All black? Sounds like Antifa/BLM.
The witnesses told officers that he would recognize the suspect if he saw him again, but declined the officer's business card to contact him for follow up. Ironically, Herbold is pushing for legislation that would make the alleged crime legal.
In October, Herbold, chair of the Seattle City Council's Public Safety Committee, introduced legislation to "…excuse and dismiss" almost all misdemeanor crimes committed in Seattle by "…persons with symptoms of addiction or mental disorder." At the time, Herbold was criticized for trying to sneak the legislation in as part of the budget cycle rather than through the normal legislative process and with no public discussion about the proposal.
