The conversations dont begin with hello. They dont end with goodbye. Most often they pick up with a low, drawling voice uttering something between a sentence and a grunt.
The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.
In a visit to the Capitol on Tuesday, Mr. Obama surprised his former Senate colleagues by stopping to talk to reporters.
"He's from Hawaii, O.K.?" said Mr. Obama's senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. "He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there." Not sure how the NY Slimes allowed this to be in the lead paragraphs, but have at it, 'burgers!
"We cant drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... Thats not leadership. Thats not going to happen,".

I grew up in Buffalo, NY. Cold and snow are lovely outside, and we dressed for it, but inside my father kept the house at about 76F, even during the oil embargo. How do Chicagoans handle their winter situation?

I think it was the days of -30 degrees (F) ambient temperature at Fort Drum that taught me what real cold was about. I volunteered for Korea to get to a warmer climate, and it was.
In a long-shot attempt to save his job, Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich insisted Thursday that he had done nothing wrong and should not be removed from office over unproven criminal charges and complaints about his management decisions. "You haven't proved a crime, and you can't because it didn't happen," Blagojevich told senators, who were prepared to vote within hours on whether to remove him. "How can you throw a governor out of office with insufficient and incomplete evidence?"
The two-term Democrat also said he would not quit. "I am not resigning now because I have done nothing wrong," he said in a closing argument made near the end of a trial he had previously avoided.
The Democratic governor acknowledged the truth about his conduct is "maybe not flattering in some cases," referring to several secretly recorded conversations played earlier in the trial.
The FBI wiretaps appear to show Blagojevich linking his decision on legislation to receiving campaign contributions.
Blagojevich told the state Senate the tapes captured something that "all of us in politics do in order to run campaigns and win elections." The governor had refused to take part in the trial, but he surprised everyone by asking to make a closing statement. By making a speech instead of testifying, he did not have to take an oath or answer any questions.

In a way, he's right - according to the rules of Chicago and Illinois politics - he hasn't done anything wrong or rather anything any other politician hasn't done there or even in Washington, DC.

Only one thing left for him to do.
Go to Fitzgerald and start singing. Particularly about those who voted against him.
Payback, baby! :-D

If I'm him, I would walk into the US Attorneys Office today and say, "I will give you anybody you want". He'd be the Sammy the Bull of Illinois politics.
