Afghanistan
Militant Threat in Badakhshan, Kunduz Grows
[Tolo News] Hundreds of Taliban gunnies attacked police outposts in northeastern Badakhshan province, clashing with Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) and killing four coppers in over the past two days, local officials said on Monday.

"About 300 Taliban gunnies attacked a number of police outposts in the Warduj district of the province," said Lal Mohammad Ahmadzai, a front man for Badakhshan Police Chief. "The gunnies killed four coppers and took a number of ANSF soldiers captive; we do not have details yet."

Ahmadzai said that additional troops have been deployed to the area to reinforce those under siege and free those who have been taken captive. He reported the gunnies had suffered heavy casualties.

In contrast to the reports from the Badakhsan police, however, a security source who spoke to TOLOnews on condition of anonymity said eight coppers have been killed in the attacks.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the offensive.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Council of Boskone, Kinnison began his slow infiltration of the sewer system...
in Badakhshan's neighboring province, Kunduz, there have also been major festivities between the Taliban and the ANSF. According to reports, the Taliban have taken control of 30 villages in Kunduz, including Gor Tapa and Imam Saheb.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has taken up the fight in Kunduz as a top national priority. "We are working with full force and with the cooperation of the elders to clean the area," MoI front man Sediq Sediqi said. "We also want to find out how the gunnies infiltrated the area and launched the attacks on us."

Kunduz is a strategically important province, being often viewed as a gateway to the northern provinces of Afghanistan. Thus Parliament has given a lot of attention to the security crisis there.

"If the government fails to focus on the security situation in Kunduz and doesn't establish more check posts in areas cleaned of armed opponents, there is the possibility that more districts would collapse," Kunduz MP Fatima Aziz said.

Security officials have assured they are doing all that they can, but have said the Lion of Islams' tactics have made things difficult. "The war tactic is the same; they attack and escape upon resistance from our forces," MoD front man General Zahir Azimi said. "That becomes easier because the area is mountainous and they can also go to the other side of border with the help of Pak intelligence."

Insurgent attacks have intensified over the past month, after an especially bloody summer fighting season. A recent ramp up in Lion of Islam activity followed the signing of the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) between Kabul and Washington, which has extended military cooperation between Afghanistan and its NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Originally it was a mutual defense pact directed against an expansionist Soviet Union. In later years it evolved into a mechanism for picking the American pocket while criticizing the cut of the American pants...

Suicide Bombers Attack Appeal Court in Kunduz
[Tolo News] A group of jacket wallahs attacked the appeal court in northern Kunduz province, starting a clash with the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF), local officials said, adding that one police was killed in the attack.

Syed Sarwar Hussaini, a front man for Kunduz police chief, said that the attack took place after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives at the entrance gate of the court while other suicide bombers entered the building.

"The hard boyz wore Afghan military uniforms," he added. "One of them detonated his explosives near the appeal court while two others started exchanging fire with the security forces."

Afghan forces kill 27 Taliban militants across country
[Iran Press TV] Afghan national security forces have killed 27 Talibs and injured 10 others during separate cleanup operations across the country over the past 24 hours.

The Afghan Interior Ministry said in a statement issued on Monday that the bandidos holy warriors were killed and injured during a series of operations carried out in Badakhshan, Kandahar, Kunar, Uruzgan and Zabul provinces.

The statement further noted that twelve Talibs were locked away
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
during the operations.

It, however, did not mention whether there were any casualties on the side of the Afghan forces.

The statement added that Afghan bomb disposal experts also defused 31 roadside kabooms and landmines across the country.

Bombers Entered Sinai Through Tunnels From Hamas Territory, Used Stolen Israeli Weaponry, Cairo Officials Say
[IsraelTimes] Bombers entered Sinai through tunnels from Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, territory, used stolen Israeli weaponry, Cairo officials say
Just how angry d'you suppose the Egyptians are just now, when they label the Juices as innocent bystanders?
Gunmen who killed more than 30 Egyptian soldiers at a Sinai checkpoint this weekend were trained in the Gazoo Strip and used stolen Israeli explosives and equipment, officials in Cairo told local media on Monday.

According to a report in the Egyptian El-Watan daily newspaper, initial investigation of the incident found that the attack was orchestrated by the Sinai-based Salafist turban group Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis
...Supporters of Jerusalem, the current pen name of al-Qaeda in the Sinai Peninsula...
and that the bombers were trained in the Gazoo Strip under Mumtaz Durmush, head of Gazoo's turban Army of Islam terror group.

After infiltrating into the Sinai Peninsula via smuggling tunnels from Gazoo, the bombers used stolen Israeli explosives and remote controlled devices to carry out the deadly attack, the pro-regime paper reported. It was not clear from the report how the Gazoo-based terrorist groups obtained the Israeli equipment. Hamas is known to have amassed considerable amounts of Israeli army weaponry and equipment, some of which was used in the summer's Israel-Hamas conflict.

An earlier report in London-based Arabic newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat on Monday quoted an Egyptian Interior Ministry official saying that Paleostinian holy warrior groups were behind the attack. Maj. Gen. Sameeh Beshadi, former head of security in the Northern Sinai district, told the paper that there was "no doubt that Paleostinian elements had taken part in the attacks" after slipping into Egypt from the Gazoo Strip.

Hamas deputy politburo chief Mousa Abu Marzouk told Egyptian TV Monday that Hamas had no involvement in the attack.

"We regret hearing about any drop of blood spilled in Egypt or anywhere in the Arab world as such news is very painful," Marzouk was quoted by Egypt's RNN News saying, denying any connection between the Islamist group ruling Gazoo and the Sinai attack.

#1  HAMAS is officially denying the allegation that its org has tunnels leading into the Sinai.

#2  Hence the Egyptians are angling at a 3km "buffer zone" on the Gaza border.Clearly they don't believe the denials of Hamas, and it will be interesting to see if any evidence is produced of border tunnels to Sinai. The Egyptian military dictatorship has granted itself sweeping new powers, and while this may have all sorts of implications for Israel, they are well placed to address the security of the Gaza border. Gaza Palestinians will be border-locked, still it will be the fault of the Israelis, of course.

Hahahaha - no, wait, seriously?

And a 3km buffer zone - what, the Egyptian military's just going to occupy the whole of Rafah? Just in time for Hamas to start building tunnels with their newly delivered construction supplies *into* Rafah. Then in a year or two, the Egyptians will declare a second buffer zone to take in everything up to Kahn Yunis. By 2020 they'll have occupied half the Strip...

Egypt's army flies special forces to Sinai to fight terrorism
[Al Ahram] Egypt's army has sent special forces by air to the Sinai Peninsula to help existing troops and police forces destroy all terrorist cells in the peninsula, says an army front man.

Extra security measures have gone into effect at all security checkpoints across Sinai, said front man Brigadier Mohammed Samir.

A military checkpoint was hit by a boom-mobile in North Sinai on Friday, killing 28 Egyptian soldiers and injuring 30. Another attack hours later left three more soldiers dead.

A state of emergency was declared in Sinai soon after the attacks by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.

A Death Eater insurgency by jihadist groups in Sinai has intensified since the ouster of president Mohammed Morsi in 2013.

Hundreds of coppers and soldiers, as well as Death Eaters, have been killed in the violence.

No Death Eater group has yet come forward to claim responsibility for Friday's attack, although Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis, a jihadist group active in Sinai, has grabbed credit for many similar assaults.
Ynet adds:
A senior military source says that five Death Eaters have been killed in an air strike in the Sheikh Zowaiid region of northern Sinai. A police source aslo said that more than 50 suspects have been placed in durance vile
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
on suspicion of involvement in a terrorist act on Friday that killed more than 30 security personnel.

Egypt said planning to relocate Rafah residents ahead of military operation

The Egyptian authorities are planning to "redistribute" people living along the border with Gazoo in divided town of Rafah, according to the pan-Arab newspaper Al-Hayat.

A bigwig told the newspaper that the plan is for the "redistribution" of residents and not their "transfer", and is being implemented for security reasons ahead of an extensive military operation in the area.

The plan will reportedly affect residents of some 680 homes.

WW2 mine injures 8 Egyptian immigrants near Libyan border
[Al Ahram] Eight Egyptians were maimed on Monday when a land mine destroyed their vehicle near the Libyan border, Al-Ahram's Arabic news website reported.

The men were reportedly attempting to illegally immigrate to neighbouring Libya when the kaboom hit their car in the southern part of Siwa Oasis, some 50km east of the Libyan border.

Al-Ahram said the mine is a remnant from World War II.

The victims, escorted by border guards, were transferred to a hospital in the Mediterranean city of Marsa Matrouh. Military prosecutors will be investigating the incident.

Libya had long been a main destination for Egyptian migrants seeking job opportunities, mostly due to the country's geographical proximity and open border policies.

But the Egyptian government has repeatedly warned in recent months against any travel to Libya as extreme violence and deadly militia rivalries have worsened in recent months.

In August, thousands of Egyptians trying to flee the strife-torn country were airlifted home, leaving their belongings behind.

Egyptian army and border guards arrest dozens of illegal migrants attempting to infiltrate the neighbouring state through Egypt's borders every month.

The International Organisation for Migration estimates that 330,000 to 1.5 million Egyptians worked in Libya up until the ongoing unrest that began following the NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...

in 2011.

The number of Egyptian expats has sharply dwindled since.

Public prosecutor abducted in Benghazi
[Libya Herald] The Libyan Judges Organisation (LJO) has condemned the kidnapping of a lawyer south of Benghazi.

Abdul Nasser Al-Geroushi, an assistant attorney general and member of the LJO, was kidnapped by unknown gunnies on his way from his village to Benghazi late Sunday night.

In a statement posted on their social media page, the organization called for the monitoring and documenting of, as well as the prosecution of, the ongoing abductions happening in Libya.

They stated that abductions were a violation of human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...

Three days of clashes leave 250 dead in south Yemen
[Iran Press TV] At least 250 people have been killed in festivities between al-Qaeda-linked holy warriors and Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to Americaâ¢, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
fighters in Yemen's southern province of al-Bayda over the past three days, security officials say.

The death figure came as the Houthi movement's Ansarullah fighters gained more ground in battles against al-Qaeda-linked holy warriors in the center of the country on Monday.

Latest reports said the fighters managed to secure parts of the town of Rada' in the province of al-Bayda by flushing out the holy warrior Lion of Islams.

Ansarullah fighters also flushed out the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
holy warriors from the southwestern Yemeni town of Yarim in the Ibb Province over the weekend.

The fighters have already taken some other parts of the Arab world's poorest country and have also clashed with al-Qaeda Lion of Islams. They have been trying to drive out the holy warriors in order to restore security to the country.

British teacher admits planning to join Islamic State in Syria

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) jihadists in Syria was convicted on Monday of terrorism offences, police said.

Jamshed Javeed, a 30-year-old science teacher at a secondary high school in Bolton, pleaded guilty at a court in London to assisting others to commit acts of terrorism and preparing to travel to Syria himself, the police said in a statement.

Security officials say some 500 Britons, most with Moslem immigrant backgrounds, are believed to be fighting in Iraq and Syria, though the true number could be much higher. They say any returning fighters would pose a threat to national security.

Islamic State has taken control of large parts of both countries.

A family member had noticed a change in Javeed's appearance and behaviour in August 2013. When confronted four months later, he told his family he was committed to going to Syria and had bought equipment for himself and IS fighters to use once he got there, police said.

IS militant calls on Chechens to fight in Syria or terrorize Europe
Islamic State (IS) militants from Chechnya in the Syrian town of Kobani have urged Chechens in Europe to either join the fighting in Syria, or commit terrorism in Europe.

In a video put out by the media wing associated with the predominantly Chechen Islamic State (IS) faction Katibat Al-Aqsa, a militant named Musa Abu-Yusuf Shishani calls on the Chechen diaspora to join IS. The video, in Chechen, was shared on several pro-IS Russian-language social media accounts on October 26 and gives an insight into the attitudes of Chechen IS militants who are on the frontline in Kobani.

The speaker, Musa Abu-Yusuf, is filmed in front of a burned-out car and says he is in Kobani. He says that IS militants are defending not just against attacks from the Kurds, but also from the whole world, who have "suddenly started to defend the Kurds."

He calls on all Chechens in Europe "not to look for reasons not to come [to Syria], you are obliged to come, and kill everyone."

Musa Abu-Yusuf says, "There are no civilians. Kill them all wherever they are, that is, in Europe itself. Kill just one Frenchman, one American, then they will rise up. Kill them all, wherever they are. In Europe."

According to the Jamestown Foundation, there may be as many as 30,000 Chechens in France, 25,000 in Austria and 17,000 in Belgium. There is also a large Chechen population in Turkey, including memebers of the North Caucasian militant group, the Caucasus Emirate.

Musa Abu-Yusuf is a member of the Katibat Al-Aqsa ("Al-Aqsa Brigade"), a Chechen and Russian-speaking group closely tied to IS military commander in Syria, Umar Shishani.

China-Japan-Koreas
Al-Qaeda, IS set sights on China
A new jihadi magazine published in English by al-Qaeda, al-Sahab ("The Cloud"), says that China is waging a "war by proxy against Muslims" in Xinjiang.

The inaugural issue of Resurgence, which focuses on the Asia-Pacific region, describes East Turkistan (the name Islamic Uighur separatists call Xinjiang) as an "occupied Muslim land" to be "recovered [into] the shade of the Islamic Caliphate."

An infographic entitled claims that China's government has murdered 4.5 million Turkish Muslims in Xinjiang since 1949, including 120,000 Islamic religious men. It also indicates that Beijing is responsible for burning 30,700 Islamic religious texts – copies of the Koran among them – and has converted 28,000 mosques into bars.

The underlying message offers a clear challenge to Beijing.

"Historically, East Turkistan has never been a part of China. It is one of the territories colonized by the Han Chinese. It lies beyond the Great Wall, which was built to defend China from invasions, and west of the Jade Gate, which is described by most historical sources as marking the western limits of China. Naming the region Xinjiang/Sinkiang (New Dominion) does not change this historical reality."

The article follows directly after another article encouraging Muslims to support jihad in Syria and Iraq. That article, entitled "The Land of the Prophets Awaits You," praises the role Syria has played in jihad against the enemies of Islam and says that "disbelievers of the East and the West" are one and the same.

For months now there have been widely circulated reports in Chinese media suggesting that the Islamic State has made plans to seize Xinjiang within five years. IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi spoke in July of "Muslim rights [being] forcibly seized in China, India, and Palestine."

Peshmerga still await Turkey approval to enter Kobani
[Iran Press TV] Turkey has not yet permitted Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) forces, known as Peshmerga, to depart for Syria to assist in the battle for the Kurdish city of Kobani against ISIL terrorists.

"Until now Peshmerga forces did not go [sic] to Kobane and we are ready to send them," Peshmerga Minister Mustafa Saed Qadir told news hounds on Monday.

"We are awaiting the stance of the state of Turkey, and because of this have not send [sic] any forces," he added, without providing further details.

Although Ankara unexpectedly announced last week that it would allow the Peshmerga to enter Kobani through the Turkish border, Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
claimed on Sunday that the Kurdish fighters of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Kobani did not want the assistance of Iraqi Kurds in their city.

Erdogan described the PYD as a "terror" group and claimed that the Kurdish fighters in Kobani are concerned that their influence may diminish if the Iraqi Kurdish forces enter the city.

Erdogan said that "the PYD does not want the peshmerga to come," adding, "The PYD thinks its game will be spoilt if the Peshmerga come. Their setup will be ruined."

Peshmerga officials said on Sunday that 150 Kurdish fighters were geared up to be dispatched to Kobani after Iraq's Kurdish regional parliament agreed on Wednesday to allow sending the forces to the strategic city.

Turkey, widely believed to be the key ISIL supporter, continues to block any delivery of military, medical or humanitarian assistance into Kobani where the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
Lions of Islam are feared to be aiming at massive bloodletting.

Analysts say Ankara, having already won the US green light, plans to let the Lions of Islam seize the Kurdish town of Kobani before sending tanks and troops to fight them in a bid to capture and possibility annex the Syrian territory.

#12  New York Times Editorial By Kobane's Commander Meysa Abdo Published in the Times 10/28/2014

Since Sept. 15, we, the people of the Syrian town of Kobani, have been fighting, outnumbered and outgunned, against an all-out assault by the army of the Islamic State, also known as ISIS.

Yet despite a campaign that has intensified in the past month, including the deployment of United States-made tanks and armored vehicles, the Islamic State has not been able to break the resistance of Kobani’s fighters.

We are defending a democratic, secular society of Kurds, Arabs, Muslims and Christians who all face an imminent massacre.

Kobani’s resistance has mobilized our entire society, and many of its leaders, including myself, are women. Those of us on the front lines are well aware of the Islamic State’s treatment of women. We expect women around the world to help us, because we are fighting for the rights of women everywhere. We do not expect them to come to join our fight here (though we would be proud if any did). But we do ask women to promote our case and to raise awareness of our situation in their own countries, and to pressure their governments to help us.

We are thankful to the coalition for its intensified airstrikes against Islamic State positions, which have been instrumental in limiting the ability of our enemies to use tanks and heavy artillery. But we had been fighting without any logistical assistance from the outside world until the limited coalition airdrops of weapons and supplies on Oct. 20. Airdrops of supplies should continue, so that we do not run out of ammunition.

None of that changes the reality that our weapons still cannot match those of the Islamic State.

We will never give up. But we need more than merely rifles and grenades to carry out our own responsibilities and aid the coalition in its war against the jihadist forces. Currently, even when fighters from other Kurdish regions in Northern Syria try to supply us with some of their armored vehicles and antitank missiles, Turkey has not allowed them to do so.

Turkey, a NATO member, should have been an ally in this conflict. It could easily have helped us by allowing access between different Syrian Kurdish areas, so as to let fighters and supplies move back and forth through Turkish territory.

Instead, the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has several times publicly equated our fighters, who are defending a diverse and democratic society, with the murderous Islamic State, evidently because of the controversy surrounding Turkey’s Kurdish minority.

Last week, following domestic and international criticism, Turkish leaders at last said they would open a corridor for a small group of Iraqi pesh merga fighters, and some Free Syrian Army brigades, to cross into Kobani. But they still will not allow other Syrian Kurds to cross Turkish territory to reach us. This has been decided without consulting us.

As a result, the Islamic State can bring in endless amounts of new supplies and ammunition, but we are still effectively blockaded on all sides — on three by the Islamic State’s forces, and on the fourth by Turkish tanks. There is evidence that Turkish forces have allowed the Islamic State’s men and equipment to move back and forth across the border. But Syrian Kurdish fighters cannot do the same.

Continue reading the main storyContinue reading the main storyContinue reading the main story
The Turkish government is pursuing an anti-Kurdish policy against the Syrian Kurds, and their priority is to suppress the Kurdish freedom movement in Northern Syria. They want Kobani to fall.

We have never been hostile to Turkey. We want to see it as a partner, not an enemy, and we believe that it is in the Turkish government’s interest to have a border with the democratic administration of a western Kurdistan rather than one with the Islamic State.

Western governments should increase their pressure on Turkey to open a corridor for Syrian Kurdish forces and their heavy weapons to reach the defenders of Kobani through the border. We believe that such a corridor, and not only the limited transport of other fighters that Turkey has proposed, should be opened under the supervision of the United Nations.

We have proved ourselves to be one of the only effective forces battling the Islamic State in Syria. Whenever we meet them on equal terms, they are always defeated. If we had more weapons and could be joined by more of our fighters from elsewhere in Syria, we would be in a position to strike a deadly blow against the Islamic State, one that we believe would ultimately lead to its dissolution across the region as a whole.

The people of Kobani need the attention and help of the world.

Meysa Abdo, who is also known by the nom de guerre Narin Afrin, is a commander of the resistance in Kobani.

#15  As like Assadian SYRIA, TURKEY does NOT want to hand over sovereign territory to the Kurds for the latter's desired "new" = restored homeland.

At the same time, it also does NOT wish to become a target for either Kurd, Al-Nusra, andor ISIS Militants, etal. in angry-response to letting the Kurds cross into Kobane andor not doing anything to stop the ISIS/ISIL - unfortunately, as the situation deteriorates Turkey may no longer have a choice.

SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE = SURRENDER LIKE FRANCE TO THE FUTURE, NO MATTER WHAT THAT FUTURE MAY BEHOLD.

Over 400 Iraqi captives freed, 70 ISIS militants arrested in Jurf Al-Sakhar
[Iraq News] On Monday, Babel Operations Command announced that the security forces in northern Babel have managed to detain 70 elements of ISIS in Jurf Al-Sakhar.

The military front man in Babel informed IraqiNews.com: "In the early hours of the morning, the army units accompanied by armed volunteers managed to free 400 Iraqi families kept by ISIS, and arrest 70 ISIS elements in Jurf Al-Sakhar."

Noteworthy, Iraqi PM Haidar Al-Abadi has said that liberating Jurf Al-Sakhar is a key to liberate all the occupied areas in Iraq, noting that the military operation in the district was a knockout to ISIS.
An Nahar expands on that thought:
The expansive Jurf al-Sakhr area is strategic because of its location along the southern approach to Baghdad and on the way to Amriyat al-Fallujah,
... the City of Mosques, which might have somthing to do with why it's not called Center of Prosperity or a really nice place to raise your kids...
a town that has been hard-pressed by IS in recent weeks.

And Jurf al-Sakhr lies west of the main highway on which tens of thousands of Shiite pilgrims will travel in the coming days on the way to the city of Karbala for the annual Ashura commemorations.

Pilgrims taking part in the commemorations, which mark the death of Imam Hussein, one of the most revered figures in Shiite Islam, are often targeted with bombings during the annual rituals, which peak next week.

Karbala governor Aqil al-Turaihi has said that "Securing Jurf al-Sakhr is securing Karbala and the south completely, as the gateway to the south begins from Jurf al-Sakhr."

And holding it would also better position Iraqi forces to strike at faceless myrmidons in nearby Anbar province, where they have suffered a string of setbacks, prompting warnings that the entire province could fall.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Light-Rail Terrorist Buried Amid Clashes Outside East Jerusalem Home
[IsraelTimes] The Paleostinian man who killed two in a terrorist attack on Wednesday was buried by his family in East Jerusalem Sunday night amid protests outside their home against a police ban on mass attendance of the funeral.

Abdelrahman al-Shaludi, the man who rammed his car into a packed Jerusalem Light Rail station last week, was given a quick burial in the Moslem cemetery next to the Old City attended by a small number of family members, the NRG news site reported. According to Israel Radio, Israel Police deployed a significant number of officers to the area to secure the ceremony.

In the attack Shaludi killed three-month-old Chaya Zissel Braun and Karen Yemima Muscara, an Ecuadorian citizen in her 20s who had come to Israel to convert to Judaism, and injured seven others. Muscara was also laid to rest on Sunday.

Hundreds of East Jerusalemites gathered outside the Shaludi home in Silwan to take part in the funeral, despite the fact that his family conceded to police restrictions on attendance.

Police had feared his funeral would add to already inflamed tensions in the capital, and a court ordered that only 20 people -- whose names had been approved -- be allowed to attend his funeral in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, and the funeral would have to be at night.

According to Arabic reports cited by NRG, nine people were maimed in festivities with the police in Silwan after officers attempted to disperse the gathering.

His family said Sunday evening they would accept his body, AFP reported.

Shaludi's family had earlier threatened they would not receive the body if strict limits on the number of mourners at the funeral remained in place.

"The dear departed deserves a great and dignified funeral," family front man Abad Shaludi told the Israeli media outlet Ynet. "We will not agree to accept the body with the [funeral] conditions set by the police. If they leave the conditions in place, then it's better to leave the body with them."

Jawad Siyyam, an activist from Silwan, where the Shaludis reside, alleged that Israel had threatened the family they would bury him on their own if they did not accept the conditions.

His family rejected those terms, but eventually the two sides agreed 70 people could attend, according to Siyyam.

A police spokeswoman confirmed the body would be handed over, but denied the quota had grown to 70 participants.

Shaludi -- who, according to Israel, was a Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, activist from Silwan -- was originally set to be buried in a Moslem cemetery near the Old City's Lions' Gate at 10 p.m. Saturday after a court authorized a service to be attended by a maximum of 80 people, for fear the event could turn into a violent protest.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
police postponed the burial and rescheduled it for a time window between 11 p.m. and midnight with only 20 mourners, whose names would have to be submitted to police in advance, allowed to attend.

Tensions are already running high in Jerusalem, where police and officials have vowed to crack down on several days of festivities between Paleostinian protesters and Israeli forces.

Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
a former Al-Qaeda mentor for propagating "terrorist" ideas, only four months after releasing him from jail for recruiting turbans, a judicial source said.

Issam Barqawi, who was once mentor to Iraq's slain Al-Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, was jugged

Barqawi, who is known as Abu Mohammed al-Maqdessi, will be held in jug for 15 days as part of the investigation, the source said.

Al-Nusra Front is Al-Qaeda's Syria franchise.

Barqawi was jugged

in 2011 for recruiting people in Jordan to join the Taliban in Afghanistan as well as "terrorist organizations".

He was also found guilty of collecting funds for "terrorist groups" to carry out acts that would harm Jordan and its ties with other countries.

On June 16 he was released from jail after completing his sentence.

Barqawi was a mentor to Jordanian-born Zarqawi before the two men fell out.

Zarqawi achieved notoriety for a spate of videotaped executions of Western hostages in Iraq before his death in a U.S. air strike northeast of Baghdad in 2006.

The pair met in 1992 and Zarqawi later joined Barqawi's Sunni turban group Jaish Mohammed (Mohammed's Army).

Later they were jugged

in Jordan for five years for belonging to an outlawed Islamist organization but freed as part of a general amnesty in 1999.

Barqawi was arrested again in Jordan in 2005 after remarks he made to Al-Jazeera

A relative expressed "surprise" following news of the latest arrest, saying it came as Barqawi had gone to hospital after suffering neck pain.

Bomb expert arrested in Mindanao
A bomb expert with a $30,000 cash bounty on his head was arrested for his alleged involvement in the series of bombings and explosions in Mindanao, police said on Sunday.

Chief Superintendent Noel delos Santos identified the suspect as Abu Salman also known as Sauman Usma, who was nabbed in Maguindanao province. He said Salman, a relative of foreign trained bomb expert Basit Usman, was shot in the leg when he tried to fight off the police who were armed with arrest warrants issued by a regional court where he was facing charges like murder and kidnapping.

Security sources confirmed that Salman was linked to Jemaah Islamiyah extremists.

Meanwhile, the Philippine government said the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) was helping the them track down members of the Abu Sayyaf wanted for kidnappings in Mindanao. Communication Secretary Herminio Coloma said, "The partnership is already a given because the government and the MILF are already hunting down the kidnappers."

He pointed out that such co-operation included a crackdown on criminal syndicates preying on prominent Mindanao personalities and business firms by demanding the payment of "protection money".

Iran police arrest 10 suspects over Esfahan acid attacks
[Iran Press TV] Iranian security forces have apprehended 10 suspects in relation to the recent cases of acid attacks against women in the central city of Esfahan.

"So far, ten suspects have been identified with respect to acid attack in the province, who are being interrogated by the police," Esfahan Provincial Governor Rasoul Zargarpour was quoted as saying by IRNA on Monday.

The official noted that an operational force has been formed at the police department in addition to a special headquarters at Esfahan Justice Department to identify the perpetrators and deal with legal aspects of the issue, respectively.

Zargarpour said four cases of acid attacks were reported in Esfahan from September 6 to October 15, noting that the incidents had nothing to do with women wearing improper hijab.

Reports of a spate of recent acid attacks against women in the central city of Esfahan have triggered grave concerns among the Iranian public and led to widespread speculations in the press and social media.

Iranian authorities say security forces have tossed in the slammer

a number of suspects in connection with the attacks, but have not confirmed claims that the women were attacked because they were not dressed appropriately as required by the Islamic dress code.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani instructed three ministries on Thursday to step up efforts to find culprits behind the attacks.

Rouhani tasked the ministries of the interior, intelligence, and justice with launching an investigation into the sensitive case.

On October 20, Iranian Judiciary front man, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Eje'i, pledged serious and prompt action against the attacks.
