Boko Haram killing men, boys, tribe members linked to Chad in northeast Nigeria
[FOXNEWS] Witnesses say Boko Haram

Mohammed Seit of Kala-Balge village says Boko Haram fighters separated and killed people of the Shuwa-Arab community while sparing people from the Kanuri tribe to which most Boko Haram murderous Moslems belong.

Seit says scores have been killed and homes in dozens of villages burned down in the past five days.

Nigeria's neighbor, Chad, has spearheaded a regional offensive and seized back major border towns from Boko Haram in recent weeks.

Separately, housekeeper Aminatu Mommodu says 68 men and boys as young as 12 were killed in an attack Tuesday on a village near Gwoza.

Yemen al-Qaeda claimes responsibility of suicide attack, kill 10 of Houthi fighters
[YEMENONLINE.INFO] Two jacket wallahs killed at least 10 Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
fighters in central Yemen on Tuesday, security sources said, highlighting volatility in a country torn by rivalries between political, tribal and sectarian groups.

Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula
...the latest incarnation of various Qaeda and Qaeda-allied groups, including the now-defunct Aden-Abyan Islamic Army that boomed the USS Cole in 2000...
(AQAP) claimed its responsibility for the attack . AQAP is one of the most Lion of Islam groups that has been battling the Shiite Houthis since they captured its central Yemen strongholds last year.

The sources said at least 15 other members of the group, officially known as Ansarullah, were maimed in the attack on a youth center turned into a militia outpost in the city of al-Baydah in central Yemen.

They said one of the two suicide bombers was rubbed out by the Houthis when he opened the gate of the youth center for the second bomber, who drove his vehicle inside the compound killing 10 murderous Moslems and wounding 15 other people.

Violence has spread and intensified in Yemen since the Iranian-backed Houthis captured the capital Sanaa on Sept. 21 and fanned out south and east seizing traditional Sunni areas.

Yemen plunged deeper into political turmoil in January after the Houthis seized the presidential palace and forced the Western-backed President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and his government to resign.

Political factions have been in talks to try to find a way out of the crisis. The talks were complicated after Hadi fled the house arrest imposed on him by the Houthis in Sanaa and moved to the southern city of Aden, which is outside the group's control, where he reclaimed the presidency.

Once an obscure religious movement in Yemen's north seeking greater autonomy, the Houthis have established themselves as power-brokers and have sent their murderous Moslems into the west and center of the country, far beyond their traditional redoubts.

Shiite militiamen open fire to disperse Yemen protest
Of course they did. They haven't the numbers and power to rule, and they have no interest in governing. Shooting the populace in a vain attempt to terrify it into submission is all that's left -- and so Yemen travels down the slope from worse to worst.
[Al Ahram] Shiite Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
holy warriors fired warning shots Wednesday to disperse a demonstration in Sanaa as protesters voiced support for embattled Yemeni President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi, organisers said.

Thousands of protesters marched in the centre of the militia-held capital, chanting "Houthis out" before gunnies discharged their guns in the air and attacked demonstrators with knives and batons.

Two protesters were maimed and 15 others were led away by gunnies to unknown locations, the organisers said.

"Yes to the constitutionally legitimate authority" of Hadi, and "No to the coup," the protesters cried out, referring to the Houthis' capture of Sanaa in September which has been seen as an attempt to overthrow Hadi.

The demonstration was organised by youth groups and the Rejection Movement, which was recently formed in provincial areas to challenge the powerful Houthis.

The Western-backed president had fled house arrest in Sanaa last month and resurfaced in the southern city of Aden, where he retracted an earlier resignation he had tendered under pressure.

Azerbaijan Says Six Arrested over 'Terrorist' Plot
[AnNahar] Azerbaijan authorities said Wednesday they had tossed in the calaboose

six men accused of being Islamic snuffies and planning "terrorist acts" in the mainly Shiite Moslem country.

The ex-Soviet nation's security ministry said in a statement that the men were planning to sow disorder with the aim of establishing "a sharia-based state in Azerbaijan."

The men also allegedly killed one person, and robbed several others, who they considered to be "infidels", since November 2014.

Nestled between Iran and Russia's restive north Caucasus region, oil-rich Azerbaijan has long been concerned about the spread of radical Islam -- especially among the large number of unemployed youth who feel left behind despite the country's recent oil boom.

Authorities in the tightly-controlled Caspian nation have also cracked down on moderate holy mans and their supporters who have spoken out against the government of strongman President Ilham Aliyev.

China-Japan-Koreas
U.S. envoy to Seoul injured in razor attack
SEOUL -- U.S. Amb. to South Korea Mark Lippert was injured Thursday in an attack by a razor-wielding assailant who said he was against the ongoing military drills between the two countries, police said.
That makes it WoT right there.
The male suspect, identified as 55-year-old Kim Ki-jong, cut Lippert's face and wrist with a razor blade around 7:40 a.m., as the envoy was preparing for a lecture at a venue in downtown Seoul, police said. Lippert, bleeding, was rushed to a nearby hospital, police said, adding Kim was arrested immediately.

Witnesses said Kim, coming from behind, pushed Lippert onto the table and started assaulting him. The envoy was about to start his meal at the breakfast meeting preceding his speech, police said.

It is the first time a U.S. ambassador has been attacked in South Korea.

Lippert, 42, took office last year as the youngest-ever U.S. ambassador to South Korea. His wife gave birth to a son here in late January and the couple gave him a Korean middle name. He was formerly the assistant secretary of defense for Asian and Pacific security affairs from 2011 to 2012. He also served as the chief of staff to former U.S. defense secretary Chuck Hagel at the Pentagon.

The suspect shouted his opposition to the annual Key Resolve and Foal Eagle military exercises that started Monday, police said. The exercises are part of Seoul and Washington's efforts to better deter threats from North Korea.
So a Nork sleeper agent or a nutty SKor leftist?
Police said they were questioning the suspect to determine the exact motive for the attack.
The assassin said what his motive was...
In July 2010, Kim received a suspended two-year prison term for throwing two pieces of concrete at a Japanese ambassador to Seoul. He published a book last year in which he details his assault on the Japanese envoy, Tosinori Shigeie.

Kim is the head of a liberal organization that protests Japan's territorial claims over South Korea's easternmost islets of Dokdo. He changed the address of his family register to Dokdo in 2006 after the Japanese prefecture of Shimane designated a day named after Takeshima, which is what the islets are called in Japan.

According to recent blog posts, Kim appears to have shifted his attention from the islets issue to the role the U.S. plays in inter-Korean relations. On Tuesday, Kim wrote a post that condemned the military drills between South Korea and the U.S., calling it "the reason why the union between family members (separated by the 1950-53 Korean War) couldn't take place."

"If the two countries reduce the scale and period of the exercises, North Korea would respond accordingly," he wrote.

The U.S. said it "strongly (condemns) this act of violence" in a statement by State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf.
But who listens to her...
"The Ambassador is being treated at a local hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening. Embassy Seoul is coordinating with local law enforcement authorities. We do not have any additional details to share at this time," she harfed up said.

Police said they will strengthen the security around U.S.-related facilities and personnel from now on to prevent similar attacks in a measure criticized as being too late.

The organizer of the event where Lippert was to give a speech apologized for the loose security and condemned the attack as "anti-humanitarian terrorism."

"We send our deepest apologies to the governments of South Korea and the U.S.," the Korea Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation said in a statement. "We wish for the speedy recovery of Mr. Lippert and send our deepest condolences to his family."

#1  According to An Nahar this morning, the ambassador came through surgery just fine, though it took 80 stitches and the cut came just short of his carotid artery:

Kim was a known maverick activist who had been handed a two-year suspended sentence in 2010 for throwing a rock at the then Japanese ambassador to Seoul.

Kim runs a small activist group that pushes for reunification with North Korea and regularly organises protests against Japanese territorial claims to a group of small islands controlled by South Korea.

A Unification Ministry official told Agence France Presse that Kim had visited North Korea at least half a dozen times between 2006 and 2007.

Writing on the group's blog on Tuesday, Kim had complained that the joint U.S.-South Korea drills were blocking dialogue between North and South Korea and preventing reunions for family members divided by the 1950-53 Korean War.

German police detain nine over newspaper arson attack
[Al Ahram] German police on Wednesday temporarily detained nine suspects over a January arson attack on a newspaper that had reprinted cartoons mocking the Prophet Mohammed from French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo
...A lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe...
.

Officers in dawn raids searched 12 apartments, detained the suspects aged 16 to 21, and took them to a cop shoppe to record their personal details before releasing them, said police in the northern city of Hamburg.

The group of local-area youths and adolescents, who were of German, Nigerian, Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
ian and Turkish origin, were also suspected of having vandalised a nearby high school a day before the arson attack, police and prosecutors said in a joint statement.

The attack on the regional tabloid Hamburger Morgenpost, which caused property damage but no injuries, came just days after jihadist gunnies in Gay Paree killed 12 people in the offices of Charlie Hebdo.

The perpetrators in Hamburg threw a manhole cover, several rocks and two incendiary devices into the building, causing damage to its archives.

The daily, known locally as the MOPO, had splashed the Charlie Hebdo cartoons on its front page with the headline "This much freedom must be possible!".

Prosecutors have refused to speculate on a motive for the newspaper attack, saying that with the aid of evidence collected in the raids, "we will now have to clarify this".

Canada Mall evacuated over 'Potential Threat,' Three Arrested
[AnNahar] Three people were jugged
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
Tuesday over a "potential threat" to a mall near Canada's port city of Halifax, which is home to the navy's Atlantic fleet.

Halifax Police Constable Pierre Bourdages said a "heavy police presence" was dispatched to the Mic Mac Mall in the Halifax suburb of Dartmouth.

The mall itself was closed for the day as the investigation turned to a residential neighborhood a short distance from the complex.

Officers raided a small bungalow "in connection with the threats," but a suspect in the case was absent and "no dangerous substances" or firearms were found.

A short time later, an apartment in another part of the city was raided and three people were taken into custody "in relation to the incident," Bourdages said.

The scare comes after security officials last month warned shoppers in Canada and the United States to be on guard after an al-Qaeda-linked murderous Moslem group posted a video calling for attacks on Western malls.

The Shabaab specifically threatened the Mall of America in the U.S. state of Minnesota, Canada's massive West Edmonton Mall, London's famous Oxford Street shopping hub and two malls in La Belle France: Le Forum des Halles and Les Quatre Temps.

Also last month, an American woman and a Canadian man were arrested and charged with plotting a Valentine's Day massacre at another mall in Halifax. A third suspect in that case was found dead at his parents' home.

Pakistani man found guilty in al-Qaeda plot to attack NYC subway
[Ynet] A US jury has found a Pak man guilty in a failed al-Qaeda conspiracy to attack the New York City subway and targets in Europe.

The verdict was reached Wednesday in a New York trial where Abid Naseer acted as his own lawyer. Prosecutors say Naseer plotted in 2009 to bomb a shopping mall in Manchester, England. The charges were dropped after a British court found there wasn't enough evidence, but US prosecutors later charged him in a broader conspiracy that included a failed plot to bomb the New York subway. They said evidence showed Naseer was communicating with al-Qaeda using women's names as code for explosives. The 28-year-old Naseer testified the emails contained innocent banter about his pursuit of a potential bride, not evidence of terrorism.

Vietnamese National Extradited to U.S. over al-Qaida Link
[AnNahar] A Vietnamese national has been extradited to the United States from Britannia after being charged with traveling to Yemen to receive training at an al-Qaeda camp, U.S. authorities said Tuesday.

Minh Quang Pham, 32, will appear in federal court in New York on Thursday to answer charges of providing support and receiving training from Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula
...the latest incarnation of various Qaeda and Qaeda-allied groups, including the now-defunct Aden-Abyan Islamic Army that boomed the USS Cole in 2000...
(AQAP), a statement said.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said Pham had traveled "surreptitiously" to Yemen from Britannia in late 2010 and spent six months in the country receiving instruction from al-Qaeda operatives.

"During the half year he spent in Yemen, Pham allegedly vowed to wage jihad... and provided material support to high-level AQAP members, almost always brandishing a Kalashnikov rifle," Bharara said in a statement.

Federal Bureau of Investigation official Andrew McCabe said Pham had "received military-style training and possessed weapons to commit crimes of violence" on behalf of al-Qaeda.

Pham was jugged
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
at London's Heathrow Airport upon his return to Britannia from Yemen in July 2011. A search of his belongings discovered electronic files setting out his links to AQAP as well as a live round of armor-piercing ammunition capable of being used in a Kalashnikov assault rifle.

He faces five separate charges under his U.S. indictment, including counts of receiving military training from al-Qaeda and providing material support to the group.

If found guilty on all counts he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

AQAP was formed in 2009 after a merger between Lions of Islam in Yemen and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
. The group has been linked to a string of attacks since its formation, including the Charlie Hebdo
...A lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe...
massacre in Gay Paree in January.

The group was also behind an attempt to blow up an American airliner over Michigan on Christmas Day in 2009.
The New York Times adds:
A Vietnamese man accused of helping develop online propaganda for Al Qaeda's affiliate in Yemen has been extradited from Britannia to face trial in Manhattan, United States prosecutors said Tuesday. The defendant, Minh Quang Pham, 32, had been living in Britannia. He went to Yemen in 2010; swore an oath of allegiance to the group, Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula
...the latest incarnation of various Qaeda and Qaeda-allied groups, including the now-defunct Aden-Abyan Islamic Army that boomed the USS Cole in 2000...
; and provided it with "expert advice and assistance in photography and graphic design of media," an indictment charges. In Yemen, he worked with an American citizen who helped produce Inspire, an English-language online magazine published by the group.
Subsequently, as reported by Ynet:
Vietnamese man pleads not guilty in NY terror case

A Vietnamese man who was extradited this week to the United States has pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
to charges that he supported al-Qaeda. Minh Quang Pham made the plea during an arraignment Wednesday in federal court in New York.
According An Nahar, it was to have been Thursday. Clearly somebody got impatient.

A large number of police and Rangers personnel reached the spot and cordoned off the area as a probe into the incident went underway.

In the previous month, a mosque's prayer leader identified as ASWJ leader was killed at Safoora Chowk next to Johar Complex. Meanwhile,
...back at the saloon, Butch got the bill for the damage caused by the fist fight, the mirror broken in the shootout, and drinks for everyone......
a young man, said to be a sympathiser of the ASWJ, was found rubbed out in Orangi Town.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Later, the body was identified as that of Abdul Raheem aka Guddu, 25. He was a rickshaw driver.

ASWJ is the reincarnation of Sipah-e-Sahaba, which is a sectarian group responsible for carrying out terrorist activities in the country.

Three policemen killed in ambush
[DAWN] QUETTA: Three coppers were killed and the district police officer (DPO) of Sherani was maimed in an attack in Loralai area of Zhob division on Tuesday.

Those killed included two guards and a driver of DPO Shakir Kakar, who were in the official vehicle.

Official sources said the DPO had gone to Loralai to attend a meeting with a deputy inspector general. After the meeting, he was returning to Sherani when his official vehicle came under fire in Spira Ragha area, 37km from Loralai town.

DPO Kakar and his driver were critically injured and his two guards was struck down in his prime as they had received multiple bullet injuries.

The DPO and the driver were taken to the Loralai District Hospital where the latter died.

Shakir Kakar, who suffered multiple bullet wounds, was shifted to Quetta in helicopter.

Police sources said the gunnies hiding on the mountains opened fire on the DPO's vehicle with automatic weapons.

Personnel of the Frontier Constabulary and police force mounted a search for the attackers with the help of helicopters but to no avail.

No one has grabbed credit for the ambush.

However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
local administration suspected that a holy warrior group, which had killed six security personnel in an attack on their checkpoint last month, might have been involved in the fresh assault.

Three suspected militants found shot dead
[DAWN] KARACHI: Three suspected forces of Evil were found rubbed out in Memon Goth on Tuesday morning, according to police.

The officials said the bodies were dumped by the road that linked Gulshan-e-Hadeed with the Superhighway in the Dhair Sharif area near Quaid-e-Azam Public School.

Memon Goth SHO Jan Mohammed Ahmdani said the police received information around 7am about the bodies and rushed to the spot. "Sporting long beards, the men looked like Pakhtuns or Afghans," he said.

"The killing appeared to be very recent as fresh blood stains were found there," said sub-inspector Wazir Ali Channa. The police investigator added that circumstantial evidence indicated that the three men had been kidnapped and bumped off somewhere else before their bodies were dumped by the road. "No spent bullet casing was found on the spot," he said.

SI Channa said each victim sustained two bullet wounds in their head and chest. "One of them aged between 60 and 65 years, another was in his 40s while the youngest among them was in his mid-20s," he said.

The bodies were later shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination, the police said. The corpses were shifted to the Edhi morgue for want of identification following the autopsy, they added.

The Memon Goth police registered an FIR (25/2015) on a complaint of SI Wazir Ali Channa under Sections 201 (hiding the body with intention of disappearing evidence of the offence) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistain Penal Code.

Memon Goth is considered one of the city areas where the bodies of 'missing' religious and political persons, particularly Baloch and alleged Lyari
...one of the eighteen constituent towns of the city of Karachi. It is the smallest town by area in the city but also the most densely populated. Lyari has few schools, substandard hospitals, a poor water system, limited infrastructure, and broken roads. It is a stronghold of ruling Pakistan Peoples Party. Ubiquitous gang activity and a thriving narcotics industry make Lyari one of the most disturbed places in Karachi, which is really saying a lot....
gangsters, have been found.

Last year eight suspected forces of Evil had been found rubbed out in the Memon Goth area. Two of them were later identified as Sharbat Khan, 30, and Kifayatullah, 33, who had been 'missing' for four to five months before their murder, according to the police. The dear departed originally hailed from Wazoo and had been taken away from new Sabzi Mandi, the police said.

Ex-councillor killed

A former councillor was rubbed out allegedly in a family dispute along with her driver in Memon Goth, police said.

They added that Allah Bachai Ishaq, 45, was travelling in a chauffeur-driven car when gunnies opened fire on the car near Saleh Mohammed Goth.

She and her driver, Pir Mohammed, 50, sustained critical wounds and were transported to the JPMC where doctors declared them dead on arrival, the police said.

The former lady councillor belonged to the Pakistain Peoples Party, said SHO Jan Mohammed Ahmdani.

He added that she was bumped off allegedly by her son-in-law Javed after they had a heated argument over the phone.

The police said her daughter had developed some differences with her husband, Javed, after which she started living with her parents. Some village elders later intervened in the matter and made efforts for a patch-up. Resultantly, the girl shifted to her husband's home but the compromise did not last long. It was on this issue that Javed and his mother-in-law exchanged arguments over the phone on Tuesday and the ex-councillor was going to his residence when her vehicle was attacked, the police added.

A murder case was later registered against Javed on a complaint of the victim's son, Mohammed Ali, the SHO said.

#9  So instead of a mix, they are going to pure HEI loadouts. The GAU-8 will use HEI instead of API ammo (thats the DU stuff, for the armor penetration). No big deal considering the class of targets they are seeing - they probably were doing this as a matter of course and cost effectiveness. Non-hardened targets make the API-DU rounds a less effective since they tend to fly right thru them (techicals and people and most of the houses there). HEI will instead blow up. HEI is what you tend to see in most of those A-10 vids where they kill terrs. Check out the explosions at impact - its a giveaway.

ISIS on the run as Iraqi forces near Tikrit
[RUDAW.NET] ISIS bandidos snuffies have fled areas surrounding Tikrit as Iraqi joint forces fought to capture strategic roads leading to the holy warrior-occupied city, a Shiite militia front man has told Rudaw.

"We managed to liberate lots of territory around Tikrit from ISIS and we also captured some roads overlooking Tikrit. This will help us liberate Tikrit very soon," said Karim Nuri, official spokesperson of the People's Mobilization Forces, a Shiite militia fighting alongside the Iraqi army.

Nuri added: "People's Mobilization Forces managed to retake control of the main Tikrit-Hawijja road which was in the hands of the ISIS bandidos snuffies in the area. With the control of this road, we will be able to liberate Tikrit more easily than before. We were also able to recapture the high ground in the areas being used by ISIS to hide."

The PMF front man said a fierce attack on the town of Ziraa forced many ISIS fighters to flee, reportedly leaving behind stockpiles of weapons and ammunition.

"We have ramped up our efforts to start entering Tikrit, but the operation must not be in a rush because there are civilians in the city and ISIS bandidos snuffies have planted land mines around and across the city," he added.

Southeast Asia
Nine wounded in coordinated attacks in southern Thailand
[The Nation] A police officer and eight civilians were wounded in three attacks in Pattani's Khok Pho district yesterday. Security forces later arrested a suspect identified as Sakareeya Sakam at a local village, and seized 12 fake license plates and around 100 rounds of M-16 ammunition.

The incidents began when gunmen on motorcycles approached a motorcycle repair shop and shot at its owner and a customer, before a motorcycle bomb hit an unmarked police vehicle that was approaching the crime scene. Nobody was injured in this explosion. Then a team of six civilians led by a police officer arrived only to be hit by a hidden bomb.

A police source said the three attacks were well-planned and coordinated. The attackers planned to launch attacks in Muang district while a festival was underway, but changed the location when they could not enter the festival. Another security source said Sakareeya was probably behind a large car bomb in Narathiwat last year.

At least 34 dead as Syria rebels attack regime intelligence HQ
[Al Ahram] Syrian rebels launched a fierce attack Wednesday on an intelligence headquarters in Aleppo, leaving at least 34 dead, days after the opposition rejected a UN ceasefire plan for the city.

At least 20 members of regime security forces and 14 rebels were killed in a powerful blast and attack targeting air force intelligence offices in the west of Aleppo, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

"The goal was to storm the building and to control it, but they failed," Rami Abdel Rahman, the director of the Britannia-based monitoring group, told AFP.

Six civilians were also killed in separate rebel shelling of regime-controlled areas, he said.

The attack began with a huge blast from explosives in a tunnel near the intelligence building, the Observatory and a Syrian military source said.

"Gunmen blew up a tunnel that they dug (into the regime-controlled sector) and then attacked the area surrounding the air force intelligence headquarters," the military source said.

An AFP journalist in eastern Aleppo said the blast was loud enough to be heard across the city.

Rebels from several factions then launched on assault on the building, part of which had collapsed from the kaboom, said the Observatory, which relies on a network of sources inside Syria.

The rebels faced heavy resistence from government troops supported by fighters from Lebanese Shiite murderous Moslem group Hezbollah, a key backer of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Light of the Alawites...
, it said.

The assault was repelled with the help of regime air strikes on rebel positions and the festivities eventually subsided.

"Dozens of (rebel) gunnies were killed in artillery and air strikes. The situation is quiet now in the area. There are minor sporadic festivities," the Syrian military source said.

The attack was the worst reported violence in Aleppo since the rebels on Sunday rejected a UN plan to freeze fighting in the northern city.

Syria: Nusra Front shows off its captured US weaponry
[DailyMail] Thank you America! Syrian rebels taunt the West after capturing US-made weapons - and may split from Al Qaeda to form terror group that could rival ISIS

o Nusra Front militants seized American weapons and food supplies in Syria
o Products were provided to the Western-backed rebel group Harakat Hazm
o But the rebels disbanded last week and their warehouses were overrun
o Images emerged as Nusra Front announced plans to leave Al Qaeda
o Rebel group is considering the split to attract Qatari financiers who could help the militants create a terror organisation to rival ISIS
An unexpected twist, that last. One hopes the new group will busy themselves killing off their competition as rapidly as possible, even as one wonders how they will differentiate their brand from those two competitors.

"The two men insisted on going out, they need to work to help their parents."

U.S. warplanes hit bomb-making facilities of the Islamic State
[ARA] Air forces of the U.S. and allies launched 12 Arclight airstrikes against locations held by the Death Eater group of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS/ISIL) in Syria and Iraq, officials said on Wednesday.

The Combined Joint Task Force said in a statement that warplanes of the U.S.-led international coalition targeted new strongholds of the murderous Moslem group on Wednesday.

In Syria, three strikes hit a tactical location of the IS group in the countryside of Kobane, destroying armored vehicles and fighting positions, as well as causing scores of casualties in the ranks of the Death Eaters.

In Iraq, four strikes were conducted against IS-held military locations in Ramadi and Sinjar. Five other strikes hit bomb-making facilities of the radical group and destroyed armored vehicles in Nineveh province.

The fighters managed to push the turbans out of the settlement mound located in the Upper Khabur of the province, reports said on Wednesday.

Elsewhere in Syria, government forces discovered a mass grave dug by the terrorists.

Six bodies have so far been recovered from the grave in Arzah, a town located to the north of Hama in west-central Syria.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fueled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 200,000 people, according to reports. New figures show that over 76,000 people, including thousands of children, bit the dust in Syria last year.

Some 6.5 million Syrians have also become internally displaced due to the ongoing crisis, according to the United Nations

The Takfiri terrorist group, with members from several Western countries, controls swathes of land in Syria and Iraq, and have been carrying out horrific acts of violence such as public decapitations and crucifixions against all communities such as Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, and Christians.
