Egypt’s army said it has killed 12 terrorists in the early hours of Friday in the North Sinai town of Sheikh Zuweid in their latest efforts in the fight against an Islamist militant insurgency that has spiked in the past two years.

The army has also destroyed two warehouses storing explosive materials, an army statement read.

Morocco Arrests Women Linked to 'IS Terrorist' Cell

group that planned to carry out attacks in Morocco have been incarcerated
Please don't kill me!
, the interior ministry said Friday.

"Two women forces of Evil from the terrorist cell that was recently dismantled and whose members had pledged allegiance to the so-called Islamic State were arrested Thursday in Tangiers," a ministry statement cited by the official MAP news agency reported.

It said the pair had also been to "al-Qaeda camps in Afghanistan and Pakistain."

On Tuesday, the authorities said eight people had been arrested over alleged plots to carry out attacks mainly targeting security officials on behalf of IS.

The newly formed Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation -- dubbed Morocco's FBI by the media -- said an eight-member "terrorist cell" was dismantled across the country in the towns of Tangiers, Bouznika, Khouribga and Taounate.

It said the eight had been in contact with IS leaders and given refuge to fighters who had received "intensive training in producing explosives and gang warfare."

It said members of the network were planning "a series of terrorist operations" against security officials and sensitive sites.

Morocco, which is on guard against deadly attacks of the type carried out by IS in Tunisia, prides itself on being a bastion in North Africa against Islamist extremism with its anti-jihadist unit and training of imams to preach tolerance.

An estimated 1,500 Moroccans, however, figure among the ranks of jihadist groups.

16 others in a series of operations, the government said Friday, as politicians studied tougher anti-terrorism laws following a spate of attacks.

Security forces launched an operation Thursday in Sejnane, in the northern Bizerte region, "against snuffies preparing terrorist acts," said the interior ministry.

It added that 13 suspects had been arrested and that one person was killed when they tried to flee the scene.

Another raid was launched Friday at dawn in the town of Menzel Bourguiba, resulting in three further arrests.

The ministry said weapons including explosives, ammunition and several assault rifles were seized during the operations.

Strategic Stances of Yemen's Ansarullah to Change the Region: Official
[ALMANAR.LB] Strategic choices taken by the Yemeni revolutionary group, Ansarullah, are to change the region, a member in the movement's politburo stressed.

In remarks published by Iranian daily Kihan, Daifullah Shamai said that the Yemenis are countering the Saudi invasion and the Takfiri

turbans, as he warned against Riyadh's plot in the southern city of Aden.

Member of Ansarullah's politburo Daifullah ShamiSaudi portraying the fight against Takfiri militias as a fight against the southerners, Shami warned stressing that such plot would not work.

The Yemeni army, backed by the Popular Committees has been, since the start of the Saudi aggression in March, engaged in fierce battles with Takfiris and bandidos gunnies of runaway president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Shami said that Saudi seeks to bolster the Takfiri operators in the Yemeni south. However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
when the Takfiris were pushed back by the army and the committees, Riyadh directly interfered through airdropping arms and supplies to the gunnies in Aden.

In this context, the Ansarullah official said that Riyadh took advantage from the truce to provide the Takfiris and pro-Hadi bandidos gunnies with supplies.

Meanwhile,
...back at the the conspirators' cleverly concealed hideout the long-awaited message arrived. They quickly got to work with their decoder rings...
Shami stressed that the Saudi-led aggression won't achieve its goals in the country's south, thanks to the army and the committees who are countering the attack and fighting the gunnies in the same time.

over such offenses.

The suspects, aged 30 and 32, were arrested Thursday and have both denied any wrongdoing when they were brought before a court Friday in western Sweden.

The charges relate to one or more killings in Syria in spring of 2013.

A third suspect was charged in absentia for "complicity in terrorist crimes."

One of two men was in a wheelchair, with some local media reporting that he had suffered a gunshot wound to the head in Syria.

"He has serious perception problems...He can't speak, he can not walk," the suspect's lawyer Lars Salkola told AFP, adding that he could not confirm the source of the injury.

Salkola said that the accusations are based from photos, but he claims that his client's face is not visible in the snapshots.

According to Sweden's security services, around 300 Swedes have gone to Syria and Iraq to fight alongside jihadists.

Two ex-Guantanamo Inmates Charged with 'Terrorism' in Belgium

Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
in Belgium on charges of belonging to a group suspected of recruiting jihadists for Syria, prosecutors said Friday.

The pair were arrested early Thursday in connection with a burglary at an apartment near the northern Belgian port city of Antwerp, a front man for the prosecutor, Jean Pascal Thoreau, told AFP.

He said the police acted after monitoring the activities of Moussa Zemmouri, a 37-year-old Belgian of Moroccan origin, and an Algerian identified as Soufiane A., both of whom had been imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The pair were charged with "participating in the activities of a terrorist group," which in turn is suspected of recruiting fighters for Syria, he added.

They were also charged along with three other men with committing a burglary at night with a weapon and a vehicle, Thoreau said.

Zemmouri, who was the only one of the five not arrested at the scene, was locked up in Guantanamo from 2001 to 2005 on suspicion of belonging to the Moroccan Islamic Combattant Group (GICM), blamed for attacks in Casablanca and Madrid.

Fewer details were given for Soufiane A., whose last name was not released, but Thoreau said he is suspected of having traveled to Syria.

Between 300 and 400 Belgians are among thousands of Europeans believed to have traveled to Syria and Iraq to fight with Islamist myrmidon groups.

Turkish police clash with anti-ISIL protesters in Istanbul
[Iran Press TV] The Turkish police in the port city of Istanbul have clashed with hundreds of people who were demonstrating to denounce violence and crimes by the ISIL terrorist group.

On Friday, some 500 people turned out for the protest rally in the Kadikoy district of the largest city of The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
to condemn a recent deadly bombing in Suruc.

The angry protesters lashed out at the Ankara government, who they blame for allowing ISIL Lions of Islam inside Turkish territory.

Witnesses said that the anti-ISIL rally was largely peaceful until Turkish forces attacked protesters and fired teargas canisters and rubber bullets to disperse the crowds.

Some protesters are said to have been injured during the clashes and scuffles with security forces.

Meanwhile, Istanbul and several other major Turkish cities are bracing for more anti-ISIL protests this weekend.

Thousands are expected to respond to a call by Turkey's pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party and turn out for a "march for peace" in Istanbul on Sunday.

Turkish authorities are expected to deploy a large number of security personnel to most parts of the city in an attempt to prevent any incident of violence.

The latest protest rally came after a deadly ISIL bomb attack in Suruc, located in southern Turkey near the Syrian border and opposite the Syrian town of Kobani, killed more than 30 people on Monday.

As well as ISIL and the PKK, the operation targeted suspected members of the PKK's youth wing, The Patriotic Revolutionary Youth Movement (YDG-H) and the Marxist Revolutionary People's Liberation Party Front (DHKP-C), Anatolia said.

The raids came after 32 people were killed in a suicide kaboom Monday in a Turkish town on the Syrian border, blamed on ISIL.

Hizbul Mujahideen disowns faction; more attacks in India-held Kashmir
[DAWN] MUZAFFARABAD: Hizbul Mujahideen, a local hard boy group, has disowned a splinter faction suspected of a string of killings in India-held Kashmire, with the rebuke followed swiftly on Friday by a string of attacks on telecommunication facilities in the region's main city.

The escalating rivalry is fuelling concern that rogue holy warriors could ratchet up tension between India and Pakistain.

Hizbul Mujahideen, a Kashmiri separatist group whose leader Syed Salahuddin is based in Pakistain, said on Thursday it had expelled Abdul Qayoom Najar over his involvement in "gruesome murder" and the "character liquidation of established pro-freedom leadership".

Indian security forces say Najar leads a breakaway group called Lashkar-e-Islam
...the name's also used by the group of Islamic bandidos infesting Khyber Agency. It's headed by a former bus driver....
that has perpetrated a series of attacks around Sopore, killing five people including telecommunication vendors and former hard boys.

In an apparent escalation on Friday, three more attacks were carried out on telecommunication facilities in Srinagar, one of them near the office of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

Sayeed, who leads the People's Democratic Party that seeks self-rule, rules India-held Kashmire in an uneasy coalition with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party.

A senior police officer said one person had been injured in the attack near the chief minister's office, which declined to comment.

Earlier, turbans threw grenades inside two mobile phone shops in Srinagar, injuring one person.

Lashkar-e-Islam has warned people to stop working for telecommunication companies, saying that Indian security forces are using mobile phone services to target members of the group.

"They were summary executions without any trials and just to spread fear," said Sheikh Ahmad Jomaili, who represents the tribal council.

The Iraqi Army has announced it will launch a comprehensive offensive to retake the troubled city, which has been a bastion of Sunni insurgency since after the 2003 US invasion of Iraq.

Palestinian killed by IDF fire during arrest operation
[Ynet] IDF and Paleostinians provide differing account of incident in which 53-year-old was rubbed out in West Bank during arrest operation.

Falah Abu Maria, a 53-year-old Paleostinian, was killed by IDF fire during an arrest operation in Beit Ummar, north of Hebron in the West Bank on Wednesday night.

A Kfir Brigade force entered the home of one of the wanted individuals and encountered resistance, including an attempt to choke one of the soldiers.

The troops were pelted with rocks when they left the residence, requiring them to provide cover fire. Abu Maria was struck and died of his wounds.

Paleostinians described the incident differently, saying that IDF troops stormed the house and shot up one of Abu Maria's children. Two bullets struck him in the pelvis, they claimed. Abu Maria reportedly attempted to help his son and was struck twice in the chest. The son underwent surgery and his condition is stable. Another relative was lightly maimed by bullet fragments.

On Wednesday night, IDF forces tossed in the calaboose

Abu Sayyaf bomb kills one, injures ten
[Gulf Today] A powerful bomb thought to have been planted by the Abu Sayyaf, exploded inside a bar in Zamboanga City, killing a female cashier and injuring ten people.

Police chief Angelito Casimiro said the blast happened inside a bar located near the Zamboanga City Fire District headquarters on Thursday night. He said, "The extremists threatened to attack business establishments such as bars in the city where soldiers and policemen would usually converge for R&R in retaliation for the continuing campaign against the Abu Sayyaf in Sulu."

Also in Mindanao, provincial military spokesman Jo Ann Petinglay said that unidentified men on Thursday night used a grenade launcher against a military detachment in a remote village in the town of Mamasapano in Maguindanao. She added that no casualties were reported in the attack on the village of Tukanalipao. Tukanalipao was the site of the massacre of 44 elite police commandos sent to arrest top terrorist Zulkifli Bin Hir, alias Marwan, on Jan.23.

...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's government took a stand against Islamic faceless myrmidons Friday, sending its warplanes to pound ISIS targets across the border in Syria, and detaining nearly 300 suspected holy warriors across the country.

A government statement said three Turkish F-16 jets took off from Diyarbakir airbase in southeast Turkey early on Friday and used smart bombs to hit three ISIS targets. A government official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of government rules requiring authorization for comment, told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named the targets were two command centers and a gathering point of ISIS supporters.

The official statement said the decision for the operation was made at a security meeting held on Thursday after ISIS holy warriors fired from Syrian territory at a Turkish military outpost, killing a soldier.

Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said the Arclight airstrikes Friday had "removed potential threats" to Turkey, hitting their targets with "100 percent accuracy." He did not rule out further Arclight airstrikes, saying Turkey was determined to stave off all terror threats against it.

#2  Do you suppose the new government in Turkey has realized that ISIS is not their friend and all of those wonderful cosmopolitan comforts and treats they enjoy in Istanbul would disappear under the ISIS thumb?

How any westernized ME government with high rise offices, Ferraris, Hermes scarves, Vuitton purses, and modern appliances could support these backward looking 7th century loonies is beyond me.

I think it goes beyond the backward looking ideas preached by Islam, it goes into some self loathing and desire for control. Islam is the key however, the fact they have locked the theology in stone and refuse to interpret the Quran and let the religion evolve is the reason it is in conflict.

I still believe, that Mohammed was influenced by some radical sect Christians who fled the Roman destruction of Jerusalem. As James, Peter, and Paul mention, some early "Christians" were really very far out on the fringe with their belief systems and were purged from the mainstream and chased out of Jerusalem while James was the leader of the church. These groups scattered and some found their way into the Arabian peninsula. I believe Islam is a very bastardized and mutated FUBAR form of Christianity, they won't admit it but large portions of the Quran are taken in whole cloth from some writings of Mark, John, Matthew et al.

That being said, ISIS is a plague and a poison upon this planet and any government or government leader that takes this threat less than very seriously, is putting a nation and all of its citizens in peril...as Turkey as awakened to.

#3  Article in the WSJ today says Turkey is attacking Kurdish rebels in Iraq now. So, going after ISIS is providing cover for violating Iraq's sovereignty (such as it is) to attack people who are also fighting against ISIS. Everything in the ME is clear as mud.
