The final coalition of offensive to eject the Iranian-backed coup insurgents out of Taiz is close and it will not be affected by any political moves, the military commander in the besieged Southeastern Yemeni town said in press comments on Sunday.
Brigadier Adnan Al Hammadi, chief of the Brigade 35 in the national Yemeni army and popular resistance, said the national allies had received enough armoured vehicles and other military equipment from the Saudi-led coalition to launch the liberation battle.
“I know that there have been much promises about the liberation of Taiz, but what I can say now is that the battle of liberation s close,” he told the Saudi daily ‘Al Madina’.
“The army and the resistance in Taiz do not believe in any political settlement with the Houthis and their allies because they are crooked and they just want time to change some positions and make advancements on the front in order to cause a media storm.
“I believe that they want to make some gains in any future settlement and to send a message to their regional allies to provide them with more support.”
Hammadi said the army had promised the people in Taiz that it would be liberated and that preparations for the final assault took time because of weapons shortages.
“The enemy is well equipped. They have been building their military capabilities over the past three decades,” he said, referring to forces loyal to deposed Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, many of whom were part of the regular army.
“The enemy has been massing its elite forces in the Taiz front. You know why, because they want the main battle to be in Taiz, but we tell them that Taiz will be liberated soon and the main battle will be in Saana, the birthplace of the Houthi leader, and Sanaa, the birthplace of Saleh.”

The Yemeni government has embarked on the process of integrating the Popular Resistance Force gradually into the national army.
In a statement carried by the official Yemeni news agency, the government said that the competent authorities opened two camps for reception and training of Resistance elements since Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, issued the orders for the merger process.
It pointed out that the Popular Resistance elements under training and rehabilitation will be included in the military brigades in the Governorates of Aden, Lahij, Abyan and Al Dhale and Taiz.
The government said that the recruitment process is underway in accordance to the official armed forces' recruitment requirements.
[AlAhram] The boom jackets used by Friday's attackers in Gay Paree -- a first in La Belle France -- were made by a highly skilled professional who could still be on the lam in Europe, intelligence and security experts say.
All seven of the bandidosforces of Evil wore identical explosive vests and did not hesitate to blow themselves up -- a worrying change of tactic for jihadists targeting La Belle France. Unlike the attacks in London in 2005 where the bombers' explosives were stored in backpacks, Friday's attackers used the sort of boom jackets normally associated with bombings in the Middle East.
Suicide vests require a munitions specialist. To make a reliable and effective explosive is not something anyone can do," a former French intelligence chief told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity
"Suicide vests require a munitions specialist. To make a reliable and effective explosive is not something anyone can do," a former French intelligence chief told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity ... for fear of being murdered... "A munitions specialist is someone who is used to handling explosives, who knows how to make them, to arrange them in a way that the belt or vest is not so unwieldy that the person can't move," he added. "And it must also not blow up by accident."
French authorities say the vests appeared to have been made with TATP, or acetone peroxyde, that is easy for amateurs to make at home but is highly unstable. The vests also included a battery, a detonation button and shrapnel to maximise injuries.
"They didn't bring these vests from Syria: the more you shake these things, the more you multiply the risks," said the former intelligence chief. "It's very likely he is here, in La Belle France or Europe, one or several guys who have come back from jihadist areas and who learned over there."
"They didn't bring these vests from Syria: the more you shake these things, the more you multiply the risks," said the former intelligence chief. "It's very likely he is here, in La Belle France or Europe, one or several guys who have come back from jihadist areas and who learned over there."
Three specialists contacted by AFP said it was probable the vests were made by someone outside the group that carried out the attacks.
"The explosive specialist is too precious. He never participates in attacks," said Alain Chouet, a former director at La Belle France's DGSE external intelligence agency. "So he's around, somewhere."
"The bomb-maker is not cannon fodder," added Pierre Martinet, another former DGSE official who now works in corporate security. "He's there to make more boom jackets and allow other guys to carry out actions."
Making a vest is extremely complicated.
"It can't be done in a couple of days," said the former intelligence chief. "It takes weeks of training, and you have to work under the watch of a 'master'. It's meticulous work."
On the eve of the UN global climate conference in the northern suburbs of Gay Paree later this month, followed by New Year's celebrations and next year's Euro 2016 football championships, concerns are high.
"It's extremely worrying," said the retired intelligence chief who asked not to be named. "Every service is on tenterhooks."
"I will now come together during the day with the competent ministers to discuss the further development of the situation in France and all issues related.
And then we also give a clear answer as a citizen. The other words, we live by the compassion, of charity, of the joy of the community We believe in the right of everyone to the right of everyone to seek his fortune and live, to the respect for the other and on. the tolerance. That's the issue Slaithe, they are not escaping the hell of that religion, they're bringing it with them like the Black Death. I used to have alot of compassion for people. But then the more I learn about people, the more I feel that what they truly deserve is being on the wrong end of a flamethrower. Humans are feral if they're not properly civilized and it's clear alot of people on this planet are not. Perhaps they never will be. But I'm not responsible for the choices they make and neither is my nation. And as they clearly are refusing to accept responsibility of their choices, it doesn't mean we have to clean up their mess.

Hrm, let me think.....oh, they could follow the example of our founding fathers and stay there to fight and fix their own country. That'd be a novel change from what usually happens. And the fact that their parents are flaming idiots means the kid will suffer. Same as it's always been. Why should MY kid give up his future just because some one decided to give up theirs? The universal punishment for stupidity/bad choices has always been harsh. The universe is not here to coddle us. If someone jumps off the cliff, no matter how bad anyone else feels about it, it doesn't repeal the laws of physics and prevent them from going splat.

merkel has earned her participation trophy; now send her off to retirement. I am sure over history there was always one world leader who suggested the do nothing or surrender option in the hopes the world would be better. Unfortunately today it appears the room is full of them. Merkel watched on television the results in Paris of her appeasement and she knows first hand that she has neither succeeded in securing the refugees safety nor Europe's citizens. Epic And predicted failure.

You don't allow a plague ship to disembark among the general population. Period.
You want to help them, then return to colonialism and sit on them back home. It appears that the alternative to some colonialism is something even worse for everyone. Time to pull your collective head and hearts out of your ass and deal with facts rather than fantasies and wishes. You want the benefits of Western Civ but the very act of what is being done is to destroy that very Western Civ.

Compassion, charity, and the joy of community may work for our countries but they do not work for dealing with psychopaths. The Islamists have no capability for empathy. Like many gang members they are broken people. They can only be met with overwhelming force. They do respect power.

OK. Maybe not. A simplistic person like myself would tend to think that Merkel's primary responsibility is the security of the German people. But maybe she doesn't think so. Maybe she believes that she is there to serve some higher cause. So what is that higher cause? European Unity? International Socialism? The Brotherhood of Man? OWG/NWO? Feathering the nests of the wealthy? If I was a German right about now I'd have a problem with that.

It's always instructive to see what brings out the trolls. They know their own vulnerabilities - and by trolling carefully highlight those vulnerabilities to us.
[AlAhram] Poland will not take in refugees under a hotly contested EU programme to distribute them among member states because of the Gay Paree attacks, the country's incoming European affairs minister said on Saturday.
"The European Council's decisions, which we criticised, on the relocation of refugees and immigrants to all EU countries are part of European law," Konrad Szymanski wrote on right-leaning website wPolityce.pl.
But "after the tragic events of Gay Paree we do not see the political possibility of respecting them," he said.
Szymanski is to take the European affairs portfolio in conservative Prime Minister-designate Beata Szydlo new government.
Her eurosceptic Law and Justice (PiS) party won the October 25 election on a platform that included refusing migrants entry into Poland.
Under the EU relocation plan, 160,000 refugees registered in frontline states Greece and Italia are to be relocated around the 28-member bloc. Many eastern European countries have staunchly resisted taking a share of the burden.

I had read somewhere, don't know if it is accurate, but when the Soviet Union needed reliable weapons, they made sure they were made in Czechoslovakia.
When it comes to the media, anything with a wood stock is an AK-47. Anything black is an AR-15 assault shotgun. Anything larger than a Suburban is a tank.
MSNBC Contributor and Washington Editor-at-Large for the Atlantic, Steve Clemons stated that French officials he had talked with criticized lack of US support against fighting terrorism, with one arguing that, “ISIS has been incubated for two years with an absence of US leadership, and that the United States needs to take the security of its allies more seriously” during MSNBC’s coverage of the terrorist attacks in Paris on Saturday.
Mr. Hollande: nothing is stopping you guys from stepping up to fight the existential war of your time. If you lead Champ might follow...
In response to a question about his conversations “with some French officials here in the United States expressing frustration about perhaps a lack of support from the US, in terms of France’s ability to fight this jihad.” Clemons said, “Well, the discussion I — was with French officials in Paris who were communicating this, and you know, in doing so, on a background basis, and on a personal basis, saying that one of the things that they’re facing is why did this happen, why did this happen? A lot of it has looked at their relation with the United States. I got an email this morning saying that’s not why, our proximity to Syria and all things Syria is profound and big, but he said the bigger part of this is that, for a variety of reasons, directly and indirectly, ISIS has been incubated for two years with an absence of US leadership, and that the United States needs to take the security of its allies more seriously, and it was a direct implication that we had not done and acted in a way to take action…he recognized in his email that I have a different view of that, that that’s not my view, but that — very clearly I sensed in these emails and the exchanges, frustration, tenseness, but also confidence. He said, we will prevail in this, but there was a real frustration and tenseness over that. And a frustration that — not only about what was happening and unfolding on the streets of Paris, but where it had come from, how it had been able to metastasize and to grow over the last two years.”
He added, “We may see within the next 24 hours some focus on Article 5 of NATO, and looking whether or not there will be a collective security commitment that we make, that almost compels us to move forward with a more muscular approach than we’ve given thus far.”
You might not want to invoke NATO right now -- doing so might show ISIS and the world just how run-down and impotent NATO has become.

Would these be the same French officials that were all warm and tingly over Mr. Obama's election?
The Article 5 question is interesting. I'm guessing it won't come up seriously until there are a couple more major attacks. I'm gonna pick London and Spain.

A Franco-Russian mobilization is not unprecedented.
That would be an entertaining turn of events. If I were Vlad, I'd go for it because a) it needs to be done and b) it makes NATO look chumpish and feeble.

Any support for the anti-Assad rebels will disappear because Obama doesn't have the balls to defend them when most can't tell them from ISIS anyway. So without that Putin can roll over them and attack ISIS directly.

DON'T THANK THE PROPHET MOHAMMED, THANK INSTEAD KARL MARX + RELATED LEFTY ICONS FOR THE RISE, FINAL VICTORY? OF RADICAL ISLAM + GLOBAL NUCLEAR CALIPHATE.
Never was. Didn't want to be. France is part of the political agreement, but not the defense agreement. This dude is talking out his ass about invoking Article 5. Inapplicable. NATO has no legal obligation to respond to attacks on France.
Which might be a good thing, as they don't have to wait around for anyone's cooperation or permission.
Now is no time to hold grudges, but for the record, I'm kinda thinkin fuck you, Frenchies, for denying use of your airspace when Reagan bombed Libya, and for making a stink over Iraq in 2003.
The Mail employs irony
Ben Carson brought his trademark soft-spoken resolve to Orlando, Florida on Friday, telling reporters after a speech at a Republican Party event that if he were president he would 'destroy' the 'global jihadist movement' behind the still-developing mass killings in Paris.
'There are those out there who have a thirst for innocent blood, in an attempt to spread their philosophy and their will across this globe,' Carson said during a brief press conference. 'And we must redouble our efforts and our resolve to resist them, not only to contain them but to eliminate that kind of hatred in the world.'
Asked how he would handle the threat of violent Islamists if he were elected president, Carson became even more soft-spoken than normal.
'I think America's involvement should be trying to eliminate them completely,' he said. 'Destroy them!'
Carson's press conference came shortly after his chief Republican rival, billionaire Donald Trump, abruptly canceled his own press conference, leaving reporters in the same room scratching their heads.
DailyMail.com asked Carson how he would persuade Americans that if a Paris-style attack were to hit the United States, his calm, low-volume style wouldn't hold him back from mounting a vigorous and energetic response.
'I would say strength is not determined by the number of decibels in your voice,' Carson responded. And if he held the Oval Office, he predicted, 'I think that will be very apparent to people very quickly.'
After Trump called off his press conference, his only response to the deadly massacres came in the form of a single tweet.
'My prayers are with the victims and hostages in the horrible Paris attacks. May God be with you all,' the real estate tycoon tweeted shortly before Carson took the podium to brief the press.
Initially, Trump's tweet spelled 'God' with a lower-case 'g.' After DailyMail.com asked his campaign for an explanation, the first tweet disappeared and a corrected version was posted on Twitter.
Carson's response was more detailed, and possessed of a hushed intensity voters seldom see from the medical legend. He launched into a litany of pledges, representing his willingness to commit American resources wherever Muslim radicals strike.
'Think about this on a global level,' he urged. 'I would be working with our allies using every source known to man â in terms of economic resources, in terms of covert resources, overt resources, military resources, things-that-they-don't-know-about resources, in an attempt not to contain them, but to eliminate them before they eliminate us.'
'You have to recognize,' he lectured softly, 'that the global jihadist movement is an existential threat which is very different than anything that we've faced previously.'
Asked whether he would consider committing the U.S. military in what amounts to a religious war, Carson said he would. 'Boots on the ground would probably be important,' he explained.
Carson also broke with Obama on the thorny question of accepting refugees from war-torn Syria, parrying a question about whether he would send them back to the Middle East if he wins the White House.
'I would not allow them to come in the first place,' he said.
'If we're going to be bringing 200,000 people over here from that region,' Carson mused: 'If I were one of the leaders of the global jihadist movement, and I didn't infiltrate that group of people with my people, that would be almost malpractice. Of course they're going to infiltrate them.'
'To bring them here,' he added, 'when we have tens of millions of our own people who are suffering economically, doesn't make any sense.' Steely-eyed pic at link

Why should a rational observer not classify this and similar statements as mere empty rhetoric?
9/11 was an order of magnitude bigger. 9/11 was an attack on the world's lone superpower.
Weeks after 9/11 the POTUS threatened the Taliban with destruction if they didn't comply with his ultimatum.
The Taliban ignored the ultimatum. There was an extremely restrained military response. A month after 9/11 the US government supported Taliban participation in the Afghan government.
etc.etc.
In 2015 no one talks about destroying the Taliban anymore.
Precedents matter. The IS has nothing fear from the West. Islamic totalitarianism has nothing to fear from the West.
The West has turned itself into a suicidal, masochistic finlandized joke.
The Federal Bureau of Investigations has nearly 1,000 active probes connected to the Islamic State terrorist group inside the U.S., law enforcement officials claimed in a letter to President Obama.
This is seriously absurd. If they aren't citizens deport them, if they are, convict them and jail them.
The terrorist probes were revealed in a letter from a group of elected sheriffs in Colorado blasting the president's plan to transfer known terrorists held at the U.S. military prison in Guantanmo Bay, Cuba, to a mainland facility. Two federal prison facilities in Colorado are being considered for the potential transfer.
The sheriff's wrote that the relocation of such dangerous prisoners to a Colorado facility could tempt many of the thousands of Islamic State supporters being investigated by the FBI to target the prison.
"We recently learned that the FBI has almost 1,000 active ISIS investigations taking place inside the borders of the United States. We believe it would be dangerously naive not to recognize that a civilian prison with an untold number of enemy combatant inmates, located in our state, would provide a very tempting target for anyone wishing to either free these detainees or simply wishing to make a political statement," the sheriffs wrote in their Nov. 9 letter, published by Judicial Watch.
The Obama administration has been working to release or transfer detainees from the Guantanamo Bay facility back to their home countries, but those that are still deemed to dangerous to transfer will be moved to a U.S. facility if President Obama successfully closes the prison, a goal he has touted since his first presidential campaign.
Defense Secretary Ashton Carter has said that about half of the remaining 112 Gitmo detainees must be locked up "indefinitely." These prisoners include 9/11 masterminds Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM), Ramzi Binalshibh, Ali Abdul Aziz Ali and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi as well as Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the Al Qaeda terrorist charged with orchestrating the 2000 attack on the Navy destroyer USS Cole, according to Judicial Watch.

[Rudaw] A mass grave believed to contain the remains of 80 Yezidi women was discovered by Kurdish forces in Shingal on Saturday a day after the town was retaken from the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS).
"Killing these innocent people is one of the crimes ISIS perpetrated against the Yezidi Kurds," Qasim Simo, head of Shingal security told Rudaw.
The mass grave was found only meters away from the Shingal Technical Institute.
Simo added that all the remains appear to be of women and maidens of tender years killed by ISIS gunnies as they overran the town last year.
Video footage of the mass grave filmed by a Rudaw cameraman shows women's clothes, long hair and other outfit unique to the Yezidi community.
According to Shingal security chief, the ISIS gunnies had buried the bodies of the Yezidi women in what used to be the Technical Institute's fish pond.
Speaking to Rudaw Simo said that they had prior information about several mass graves in the town and the one discovered Saturday is believed to be one of the largest.
Thousands of Yezidi women and kiddies are still believed to be missing.
Shingal security chief said that he believes there are at least 15 mass graves in the area.
"We are all from this area and of one tribe, so we know who was taken to djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... and Raqqa and who was killed here," said Simo.
Pointing to the mass grave, Simo said that the age of the victims could range from maidens of tender years to women as old as 100.
Women's shoes, necklaces, purses, banknotes, perfumes and even walking sticks lie everywhere across the mass graves now overgrown with short grass.
"Our job as security is only to locate and protect the graves and leave the rest to the experts," said Simo.

[AnNahar] State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr did not rule out the possibility that a detainee jugged Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up! in the northern city of Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... earlier this week could be connected to Thursday's Bourj al-Barajneh blast, reported the daily An Nahar on Saturday.
The detainee confessed that he was planning on blowing himself at a cafe in the Tripoli's Jabal Mohsen neighborhood simultaneously with the jacket wallahs of the Bourj al-Barajneh attack.
He also revealed to the Sherlocks that one of the suicide kaboomers is called Abou Khaled, a Paleostinian who had arrived in Leb with him from Syria.
Furthermore, investigations found connections between the recent attack in the northeastern border town of Arsal and the Bourj al-Barajneh attack in Beirut's southern suburbs.
On November 5, more than four people were killed in a bombing that targeted a meeting of the al-Qalamoun Muslim Scholars committee in Arsal.
The Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. Conflicting reports had emerged over the existence of a third attacker.
At least 43 people were killed and 230 others were maimed in the bombing.
This attack would have been the big news item of the day, had it not been superceded by the killing of Jihadi John and the Paris attacks.
