[Wash Times] Cheryl Mills, the former chief of staff at the State Department, partly blamed the Benghazi terrorist attack for former Secretary Hillary Clinton failing to turn over her emails as she left office in 2013, saying there was "a lot going on" that distracted them from fulfilling their obligations under open records laws. 'Distracted' from doing her job, a fairly common Foggy Bottom malady.
Ms. Mills, in sworn testimony ordered by a federal judge taken last week and released Tuesday, said Mrs. Clinton and her team were occupied with too many other things to think about going through their official records and making sure they remained with the department -- a requirement of multiple federal laws and agency policies.
Among those were Mrs. Clinton’s upcoming departure from office and the September 2012 attack that cost the life of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.
"The secretary was not only transitioning, there had been a -- we had lost our first ambassador in quite some time, and we were stepping through the sets of issues associated with that. And she, too, had fallen ill, and there -- and there had been a period of time where we were obviously navigating a whole set of issues in that space," Ms. Mills said. "So I don’t know that this was something that I focused on, and certainly I wish I had." The shredders were breaking down and we were constantly running out of 'burn bags.'
Blaming the Benghazi attack is a striking explanation, given that it was the 2012 attack -- and the congressional probe into it -- that first exposed Mrs. Clinton’s use of a secret email account tied to a server kept at her home in New York.
Ms. Mills said she can’t even remember if she and Mrs. Clinton talked about how to secure and store her emails as they left office together. Now suffers from chronic CRS. How convenient.

Didn't the State Department have an IT team to manage all that stuff so The Beast could focus on the big picture stuff? Oh yeah, didn't use that non optional resource and now blaming things on being too busy.
[Chicago Tribune] Drew Peterson was found guilty Tuesday of trying to hire a hit man to kill the prosecutor who put him behind bars for murder. Behold! The personification of evil.
The jury deliberated for about an hour before finding Peterson guilty of solicitation of murder for hire and solicitation of murder. The charges carry a prison sentence of up to 60 years.
Peterson sat hunched over, his head leaning on his left hand with his elbow on the defense table as the verdict was read by the judge. Peterson showed no visible reaction to the verdict. As Peterson left the courtroom, he glanced at Cassandra Cales -- the sister of Peterson's missing wife, Stacy Peterson -- and murmured something unintelligible. Several jurors declined to comment afterward.
Peterson, 62, is already serving 38 years for the 2004 murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.
Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow prosecuted the 2012 murder case against Peterson, who tried to arrange for a fellow inmate to hire a relative to kill the prosecutor.
The inmate, Antonio Smith, worked with authorities to record his conversations with Peterson in November 2014.
Smith told Peterson he had arranged for his uncle to kill Glasgow by Christmas 2014.

A tour group for ghost hotspots was visiting a graveyard when they stumbled upon a set for a pornographic film.
The group were examining gravestones on the south side of Sculcoates Lane in Hull last month, when they heard groans.
When they went to investigate, presumably searching for paranormal activity, they found a couple having sex on a patch of ivy, filmed by two men. I guess instead of paranormal, you'll have to settle for abnormal.
All involved in the production were so preoccupied they did not realise the group had found them.
The tour guide, Mike Covell, told the Hull Daily Mail: "Normally there's no reason to tell anyone about this kind of thing, but maybe I can turn it into free advertising."
"It was the couple who saw us first. They were going at it like knives among the ivy. She was a blonde.
We looked at her and she looked at us. Then she pushed the bloke off her. The guy ran after her desperately trying to protect his privates from the brambles.
We did not know where to look. Good job all 12 people on the tour were adults because sometimes kids come along.
One elderly man was so incensed, he was ready to chase after them with his walking stick but I persuaded him to calm down and eat his sandwiches."
The graveyard, which has graves from the 1840s to 1959, is now overgrown and was thought to be haunted by monks and children whose bones were moved during redevelopment of the site.
A spokesperson for Sculcoates Neighbourhood Association said:
"This is the first time I have heard of anything this. There are always people in society who will push the boundaries. Heh. You don't get out much, do you?
The cemetery has a rich history. Philip Larkin used to ride his bike through it. So we all hope this is a one off."

It's finally happened -- a woman was accused of sexual assault by a man and ended up being expelled under the same terrible policies that have railroaded so many male students.
The woman, identified as "Rose" by Buzzfeed News, tells a story similar to that of so many young college men. While drinking at a party, she and a male student went to her room and performed oral sex on each other. The male student left briefly to get a condom before the two began intercourse.
[MEDIAITE] The cable network behind the Katie Couric-produced documentary Under the Gun has pulled the film from its website a day after Couric apologized and admitted it contained a misleading edit of gun proponents’ remarks.
Pro-gun blog BearingArms.com first noticed that attempting to watch the film now brings up a message saying "This movie is not currently playing on Epix."
In a statement to The Washington Examiner, the channel denied the Epix original documentary was taken down because of the controversy.
"It wasn't us, we didn't do it, and we'll never do it again."
"As of today, the doc moves out of the premium window ‐ off of EPIX ‐ and into a transactional window. This is part of the original agreement we struck when we acquired the doc coming out of the Sundance Film Festival," a spokeswoman said.

[REUTERS] North Korea attempted to fire a missile from its east coast on Tuesday but the launch appears to have failed, South Korean officials said, in what would be the latest in a string of unsuccessful ballistic missile tests by the isolated country.
The launch attempt took place at around 5:20 a.m. Seoul time (4.20 p.m. ET), said the officials, who asked not to be identified. They did not elaborate.
Tension in Northeast Asia has been high since North Korea conducted its fourth nuclear test in January and followed that with a satellite launch and test launches of various missiles.
Japan put its military alert on Monday for a possible North Korean missile launch.
"North Korea shows no sign of abandoning the development of nuclear missiles and so we will continue to work closely with the U.S. and South Korea in response and maintain a close watch," Japanese Minister of Defence Gen Nakatani told a media briefing.
North Korea appeared to have attempted to launch an intermediate-range Musudan missile, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency said.
North Korea attempted three test launches of the Musudan in April, all of which failed, U.S. and South Korean officials have said.

[Gateway Pundit] Of almost 163,000 people who applied for asylum in Sweden last year, less than 500 landed a job, according to a report by a Swedish public broadcaster.
The native Swedes are happy to support 162,500 settlers...
Using figures from Sweden’s employment agency ArbetsfĂśrmedlingen and migration authorities Migrationsverket, SVT reported on Tuesday that 494 asylum seekers who arrived in 2015 have managed to find a job to support themselves while waiting for their application to get processed.
A person who arrives in Sweden with valid identification documents and has applied for asylum is normally allowed to work despite not yet having a work or residence permit, if Migrationsverket grants them an exception.
Such an exception is called the ’at-und’ and usually gets processed automatically, reported SVT. However, only a third of asylum seekers aged 20-64 were given one in a year when Sweden received an unprecedented number of asylum claims.
"It was an incredible number of people applying for asylum in Sweden and so that we would be able to register all of them, we had to de-prioritize certain tasks, and that was the matter of jobs," Migrationsverket officer Lisa Bergstrand told SVT.
[IOL] Steve Hofmeyr may as well rename The Netherlands The NEVERlands, because his show there just got cancelled.
The outspoken musician was scheduled to speak at a restaurant called Studio Dudok in Den Haag. Hofmeyr’s talk appears to have been scheduled as part of a political tour through the region, during which he intended to lecture on the dangers facing Afrikaaners in Africa. The Agter Elke Man actor was to deliver a speech at the Flemish Parliament in Brussels on Monday, titled Warnings From Africa.
That he was denied the chance to do so in The Netherlands is thanks to the efforts of fellow South Africans living there. According to Johan de Villiers of the African-European Indaba - a community for Africans living in Europe - the Hofmeyr talk was cancelled after he appealed to Studio Dudok "not be associated with his racially provocative statements".
Weeks earlier, de Villiers had warned of Hofmeyr's impending visit.
"Hofmeyr is coming here to 'file motions', among other things, together with the most right-wing parties for governments here to call upon the South African government to address farm murders more seriously," he told a Dutch news channel. De Villiers added that he also wanted the South African government to address this issue, but not at the expense of other criminal activity.
On their Facebook page, Studio Dudok explained their decision to can the Hofmeyr talk.
"We as Dudok have always taken a stance against any kind of discrimination and racism. We like to be a place where everyone feels welcome as a guest or employee."
Hofmeyr replied in highly dramatic fashion, apologising to all farmers on his Facebook page, and portraying those who protested against his visit as traitors.
"The freedom and invitation to tell our story is not being stopped by the Dutch ‐ they were the ones who invited me ‐ but by South Africans in the Netherlands who know we are busy hiding something gruesome."
Hofmeyr also claimed it was a "cheap shot" to label him a racist and right wing.
[PJ] During the Second World War, French Jews were persecuted like never before. They lived in Paris and its suburbs for centuries, and were always left alone. They truly felt French... or, to be more precise (anyone who knows anything about Paris knows that the inhabitants consider themselves different from the rest of the country), Parisian.
Hitler and his Nazi scum couldn't have cared less about any of that, however. They considered Jews to be subhuman and sent them to concentration camps where they were systematically slaughtered.
After the Americans, British and Canadians liberated France, Frenchmen discovered what had happened to their Jewish neighbors. They immediately made clear that they would never allow something like that to happen again. "Never again" became an international rallying cry.
Well, with "never" they apparently meant "until 2016":
Jews who have lived peacefully in the suburbs of Paris are now having to move to other parts of the country or head for Israel to escape anti-Semitism.
When Alain Benhamou walked into his apartment near Paris in July 2015 and saw the words "dirty Jew" scrawled on the wall, he knew it was time to leave.
It was his second such break-in in less than three months and the 71-year-old no longer felt welcome in Bondy, a Parisian suburb he had called home for more than 40 years.
"Until the years 2000-2005, the town was nice and quiet, with 250 to 300 Jewish families and synagogues full on the Sabbath," Benhamou says.
"Now, only about a hundred Jewish families remain."
Benhamou is one of many Parisian Jews who have decided to move elsewhere, in his case to Villemomble, where there is a bigger Jewish community. Like other persecuted minorities, French Jews now find peace and security in numbers. Separated from other Jews, they are easy victims of the new anti-Semites who have taken over large parts of France's big cities and especially its capital.
[BREITBART] An art performance that saw over three thousand youths trample the graves of the war dead at Verdun and "fight" with each other has been widely condemned.
To mark the 100 year anniversary of the World War One Battle of Verdun the ruling Socialist party, headed by French President Francois Hollande ...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist... , organised a performance that has been condemned for being in poor taste and disrespectful.
Some 3,400 French and German teenagers ran across the graves of the war dead at the Verdun memorial where they pretended to play fight with each other to the sound of drumming. French politicians from the Front National to the Republicans expressed their outrage at the performance, Le Figaro reports.
The performance, choreographed by German film maker Volker Schlondorff, was meant to symbolise the battle of Verdun but many felt it made a mockery of the war dead. Leader of the Front National Marine Le Pen wrote on Twitter in the immediate aftermath of the performance: "at Verdun, the ’show ’ is jogging among the tombs. Indecent, really indecent".
Her comments were followed by those of her niece, rising star of the French right, Marion Maréchal-Le Pen who condemned the ruling Socialist Party in particular, tweeting: "desecrating the graves to the sound of drums to commemorate Verdun: the honour of our ancestors was violated" and then later :"I feel great contempt for the Socialist leaders who organised this event."

[DAWN] MURREE: A 19-year-old school teacher was tortured and set on fire after refusing a marriage proposal on Tuesday, reported DawnNews.
The victim's uncle, Nasir Abbassi, stated the family had gone to a social gathering and the victim was alone at home when the incident occurred.
"A group of five men forcibly entered the house, locked her in a room and beat her up," claimed Abbassi.
The suspects, after beating the victim, set her on fire and threw her in a ditch behind the victim's residence, added Abbassi.
The family, after being informed by a local boy, rushed home and took the girl out of the ditch and took her to the local hospital for treatment.
Treatment was denied at the local hospital, citing lack capability to deal with burn victims. The girl was then transferred to PIMS in Islamabad.
The family of the girl approached Murree police to register a case, but the case was not registered and no action taken, claimed the girl's uncle.
The girl has suffered burns over 85 per cent of her body, doctors told DawnNews. They added they are trying their best to save the girl's life, but her condition is serious.
