Insurgents torch cell tower in Nangarhar
No Ring of Honor Wrestling feed on cell phones for you!
You thought they were getting NPR on their cell phones?
[ToloNews] Armed insurgents set a telecommunication tower alight on Monday night in Nangarhar province, local officials said Wednesday.

Provincial governor’s spokesman Attullah Khogyani, confirmed the incident and said it was an MTN tower in Bati Kot district.

The insurgents fled the area. No causalities were reported in the incident.

No group has claimed responsibility yet for the incident.

Earlier this year, officials from the Afghanistan Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ATRA), said hundreds of towers around the country are under threat on account of a strategy being employed by the Taliban and other militant groups involving the extortion of money from private telecom companies operating in Afghanistan.

Telecommunication services have expanded significantly over the past few years in Afghanistan and the growth has benefited local communities, businesses and the government. Access to new methods of communication and sources of information has helped connect isolated groups across the country, spur economic growth and social development.

However, for all those reasons, and the fact that the businesses behind the spread of telecommunication technology around the country are so profitable, militant groups have looked to impede the development process and exploit companies for their own gain.

Through threats of violence and forced system failures, armed anti-government groups give telecommunications companies the choice between paying money or having their towers targeted by attacks.

New offensive in Kandahar to begin
[ToloNews] Security forces have launched a military operation to clear a number of insecure areas in Shah Wali Kot district in Kandahar province, officials said on Wednesday.

The officials said at least 13 villages have so far been cleared of Taliban in the district.

The district police chief, Bacha, said an increase in conflicts in Uruzgan, Kandahar’s neighboring province, has affected the security of Shah Wali Kot.

Therefore, the police chief said, there is a need to increase the number of security forces in the province.

According to officials, more than 100 villages in the district fell to the Taliban when they attacked the district a few months ago.

Meanwhile, a number of residents from the district said government should pay further attention to their safety and defuse mines that have been planted in parts of their district to target security forces.

Lack of equipment means some Dutch soldiers can’t patrol in Mali
Good lord -- the Dutch are supposed to be good at planning.
Some Dutch soldiers serving with UN peacekeepers in Mali are unable to go on patrol because of a shortage of equipment, the AD said on Tuesday.

The shortages affect soldiers who have arrived relatively recently in the troubled west African country. In particular, there are not enough night vision binoculars and equipment to jam roadside bombs, the AD said. There is also a shortage of new, lighter bullet-proof vests.

The AD sent a journalist to spend the Christmas break with Dutch soldiers in Mali and said the shortage of equipment is leading to major frustration among some soldiers.

The 11th air assault brigade has recently taken over the role in Mali done previously by special forces. Now there are more people in the camp, ‘we have to make choices and can deliver less than we would like to,’ commander Ron Sensen told the paper.

The army hopes to have the problem solved by mid January, the AD said.

by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, IRT, who trailed him to a river bank at the Majidu area of Ikorodu, Lagos.

Madaki disclosed that the suspect was apprehended "with a Qur’an and a chaplet on his neck while trying to lobby people in the market."

The statement said the suspected Boko Haram member "confessed that there are many of his colleagues in the city."

The agency, therefore, appealed to residents of AMAC and the FCT to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement to AMAC Marshal personnel and other security agencies.

Major General Lucky Irabor, theatre commander of Nigeria's military campaign against the group, showed a news conference aerial footage he said was filmed during the operation in the Sambisa forest that showed Boko Haram fighters moving with women and kiddies.

"The haggard fighters were just using them as a shield," Irabor told news hounds in the northeastern city of Maiduguri. "That is why we did not engage them from the air."

"We had always believed and hoped that going into the Sambisa would afford us the opportunity to get the remaining Chibok girls. What we can't tell is whether those women we can see were the Chibok girls," he said.

Niger Says 31 Boko Haram Fighters Surrender
[AnNahar] Thirty-one Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
fighters have surrendered to authorities in Niger, the West African country's interior minister Bazoum Mohammed announced Tuesday.

Boko Haram's seven-year insurgency began in Maiduguri, northeast Nigeria
... a particularly crimson stretch of Islam's bloody border...
but has since spread beyond its borders to Chad, Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
and Niger.

The 31 fighters gave up their arms in Diffa, a southeast region, Mohammed said on Twitter, the first time Niger authorities have reported such surrenders.

Boko Haram has been carrying out murderous attacks in Niger since February 2015.

"They came one by one and are currently held in a secure center," a security source based in Diffa told AFP, adding that they would return to their families after undergoing a "de-radicalization" program.

In January 2015, a bigwig in Diffa, said many young people were "increasingly attracted by the offers of Boko Haram", citing sums of up to 500 euros ($520) per month.

Niger, Chad and Nigeria launched simultaneous "sweep operations" against Boko Haram strongholds in July.

In October, the government in Niamey declared the "operations had given decisive results in liberating several localities formerly occupied by Boko Haram."

Kuwait's Preventive Security Service monitoring 50 linked to DAESH
[Arab Times (Kuwait)] Recently, the Preventive Security Service (PSS) said it was monitoring at least 50 people, mostly Kuwaitis, who have close ideological link with DAESH, reported al- Anba daily quoting a high-level security source.

The source revealed some of these people are holy mans who preach in mosques but their association with the terrorist organization is purely intellectual, adding that their movements are monitored round the clock.

The source said the recentlyseized cells led to the discovery of some more of these cells although several of them were known to the Internal State Security Unit at PSS. The source added it is not a secret that people are called up every now and then, in an explicit message from the security services that they are under surveillance and their communications and even their movements are known.

In response to a question why they are not arrested and prosecuted, the source said the Constitution and the law necessitate physical proofs which are not available because the issue is related to thought, tendencies and sympathy. He stressed these persons are closely monitored, especially their remittances, pointing out that the extension of detention comes as one of the steps to prosecute those with bully boy ideology.

The source went on to say that the Interior Ministry, in coordination with the Central Bank and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, played a significant role in reducing the flow of Kuwaiti funds to terrorist organizations. He warned that any contact with any terrorist or suspicious organization shall be met with decisive response, indicating there is no room for leniency at the expense of the security of the country and its people The source affirmed the PSS and Criminal Investigations Department have the right to use all their powers to protect the country and its citizens, even the use of firearms if necessary.

Sympathisers
Kuwaiti courts have sentenced to various jail terms a number of members, sympathisers and financiers of the IS group. In October, Kuwait police arrested an Egyptian driver suspected of being a member of the IS, after he rammed a garbage truck into a pick-up carrying five Americans.

Authorities in July said they had dismantled three IS cells plotting attacks, including a suicide kaboom against a Shiite mosque and against an interior ministry target. An IS-linked jacket wallah killed 26 worshippers in June last year when he went kaboom! in a mosque of Kuwait’s Shiite minority, in the worst such attack in the Gulf state’s history. The Egyptian, allegedly affiliated to the DAESH terrorist organization and identified as Ibrahim Suleiman told the Criminal Court he attempted to kill five Americans on the Seventh Ring Road by deliberately crashing into their vehicle, reports al-Rai daily. The suspect told the court the men are infidel and deserved to die. He also admitted to belonging to the DAESH organization. The court has set Jan 22, 2017, for the next hearing.

New Year Celebrations: JMB's 'attack plan foiled'
[Bangla Daily Star] Police have locked away
You have the right to remain silent...
five suspected members of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh
The JMB is said to be the youth front of Al Mujahideen, the parent organization that began working toward establishing Bangladesh as an Islamic state in the mid 1990s which remains obscure even today. Other organizations, such as Jama'atul Jihad, JMB, Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh (JMJB), Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HUJI), Hizbut Tawhid, Tawhidi Janata, Islami Jubo Shangha, Islami Shangha, Al Falah A'am Unnayan Shanstha and Shahadat-e al Hiqma are believed to be part of the Al Mujahideen network. The JMB at its peak was reported to contain at least 100,000 members, and an alleged 2,000-man suicide brigade, few of whom actually exploded. JMB allegedly received financial assistance from individual donors in Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Libya. Reports have claimed that funding of JMB by international NGOs like Kuwait based Society of the Revival of Islamic Heritage (RIHS) and Doulatul Kuwait, Saudi Arabia based Al Haramaine Islamic Institute and Rabita Al Alam Al Islami, Qatar Charitable Society and UAE-based Al Fuzaira and Khairul Ansar Al Khairia. The top leadership of JMB was captured in 2005 and hung in 2007, which pretty much shot their bolt.
who were allegedly collecting explosives to carry out attacks in Dhaka during New Year celebrations.

The arrests were made in the capital's Darus Salam area on Tuesday evening when the suspects were carrying around 30kg of explosives in their bags to make bombs at a safe house, Monirul Islam, chief of Counter Terrorism unit of DMP, told a news briefing yesterday.

The police did not say anything about the target spots of the suspects.

The arrestees -- Md Riaz alias Engineer alias Rakib, Md Abubin Sayem alias Bappi alias Opu, Kazi Abdullah Al Osman alias Ahsan, Md Sohag alias Chairman and Md Mamun alias Himel -- are Ehsar or full-time members of the "Old JMB", according to police.

This is the first time in months that law enforcers learned about a planned attack by the members of JMB. It was believed that the JMB was busy collecting funds for the organization through robbery and planning ambushes on police and jail guards to free their arrested leaders, sources said.

The arrests and the seizure came days after the police had busted a "Neo JMB" den in Ashkona during which a female JMB member killed herself and seriously injured her four-year-old daughter detonating a boom jacket. A 14-year-old suspect was also killed during the operation, while two female holy warrior suspects surrendered with their two children.

The "Neo JMB," a faction of the outlawed JMB that follows the ideologies of terror organization IS, was responsible for the worst-ever holy warrior attack in Bangladesh at a Gulshan café on July 1.

A CT official asking not to be named claimed that the JMB's Rajshahi region leaders Zia, Hayder and Sahidullah were the key planners of the attack that was to be carried out during New Year's celebrations.

"We suspect the three names are organizational but hope to get more information from the five arrestees after interrogating them," added the official.

During the briefing at DMP's media centre, Monirul also said they had learned about the five arrestees from another gang arrested in the capital with money and gold ornaments they had robbed.

He said the leader of the robbers was one Reaz alias Zinia alias Rakib, who had recently visited India and met Salauddin alias Salehin, chief of the "Old JMB". Rakib started organising the group in Bangladesh with instruction from Salehin, he added.

The CT chief also said many "Old JMB" members were joining the "Neo JMB".

Referring to Shakira, who killed herself detonating her boom jacket in Ashkona, Monirul said her husband, "Old JMB" member Rashedur Rahman alias Sumon, was arrested on October 17 in the city with six other "Old JMB's" gang of robbers.q

Berlin Attack Accomplice Suspect Arrested in Germany
BERLIN (AP) -- German prosecutors said Wednesday that they have detained a Tunisian man they think may have been involved in last week’s truck attack on a Christmas market in Berlin.

The 40-year-old, who wasn’t identified, was detained in Berlin during a search of his home and business, federal prosecutors said.

The man’s telephone number was saved in the cellphone of Anis Amri, a fellow Tunisian believed to have driven a truck into the market on Dec. 19. Amri, 24, was killed in a shootout with Italian police in a suburb of Milan early Friday.

Of the new suspect, prosecutors said in a statement that "further investigations indicate that he may have been involved in the attack."

Twelve people died and dozens more were injured in the truck attack. The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility.

Greece to Give Migrants IDs, Cash

[AnNahar] Greece wants to give electronic ID cards and cash to thousands of refugees and migrants trapped on its soil, the migration minister said Wednesday.

"(By April) we intend to register all refugees and migrants in Greece... in camps, hotels and flats, and give them electronic identity cards," Yiannis Mouzalas told a news conference.

"This will show their legal status, and where they are" in the country, he said.

Mouzalas added that, by March, the government plans to give cash handouts of up to 400 euros ($418) a month to enable migrant families to fend for themselves. Mouzalas did not clarify how austerity-wracked Greece intended to fund the handout scheme, but Athens has generally relied on the EU for such financing.

Greece says it has over 60,000 mainly Syrian refugees and migrants trapped on its soil, after Balkan and EU countries further north shut their borders last year. Most are lodged in 34 camps around the country, run with the help of EU funds and support from the UN refugee agency, the Red Cross and other organizations.

54,000 Migrants in Germany Get Grant to Return Home in 2016
But did they actually leave?
[AnNahar] German authorities say more than 54,000 migrants, including failed asylum-seekers, received approval for government funding to return to their homeland this year, paving the way for a significant increase in voluntary departures. Germany is keen to increase the number of rejected would-be refugees leaving the country after last year's influx of 890,000 migrants.

Interior Ministry spokesman Harald Neymanns said Wednesday that the total funding approved for returnees this year was 21.5 million euros ($22.5 million). He said about 35,500 people obliged to leave Germany did so voluntarily in 2015, but noted that the two figures can't immediately be compared because the number of people who actually departed in 2016 isn't yet clear. Neymanns stressed that Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere "has always said voluntary returns are always preferable to deportation."

[Ynet] Two men were arrested in Madrid on Wednesday on suspicion of spreading Islamist militant propaganda, the Interior Ministry said. Police released video footage in connection with the arrests that showed officers uncovering gun magazines and bullets from under rocks in a disused, graffiti-sprayed building. El Pais newspaper quoted the Interior Ministry as saying the search, in the outskirts of Madrid, uncovered four Kalashnikov AK-47 magazines and over 30 bullets. The paper said the men were second generation Spaniards of Moroccan and Gambian origin.

Iraq
6 ISIS Bad Guys die in Kirkuk
Kirkuk (Iraqinews.com) Six Islamic State militants were killed in an armed ambush in southwest Kirkuk, a security source in the province said Wednesday.

An armed group had set an ambush on Wednesday morning, targeting a vehicle carrying Islamic State elements passing on a road between the town of al-Riyadh and Hawija, the source told Alsumaria News.

The extremist group imposed tight measures at the attack’s scene, said the source.

IS militants maintain control over several areas in southwest of Kirkuk since they took over several Iraqi cities in 2014 to proclaim a so-called “Islamic Caliphate”. Those areas have seen an exchange of attacks between the group and security forces as the Iraqi government leads a wide-scale campaign to clear Iraqi cities from the group’s fighters since October.

An Interior Ministry official was quoted as saying on Tuesday that the battles with IS have left nearly 6000 militants on the ground, and Iraqi and US commanders participating in the battles had earlier put the number of militants killed in operations at nearly 4000.

The tensions in Kirkuk have forced thousands of people to flee homes at the province to refugee camps, with the Migration and Displacement Ministry putting the total of those who fled violence at IS-held regions since October at 137.000.

Mosul Offensive News
Iraqi militiaman dies in ISIS attack in Bawiza

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) One army soldier was killed and four others, including two militia fighters, were wounded when Islamic State fighters attacked government forces and popular militias north of Mosul.

Zoheir al-Jubouri, spokesperson of the Nineveh Guards militia, said in press statements that a soldier from the army’s 16th division was killed, two other army officers and two from his forces were wounded when militants waged a violent attack on the forces at Bawiza, north of the city. He said air force and artillery backup helped the forces push militants back and destroy vehicles they were planning to use to bring down security barricades.

Earlier, Rudaw agency quoted Col. Mohamed al-Wakka, an officer at the media office of government military operations in Nineveh, as saying that Iraqi forces foiled an attack by IS in Baawiza. “A number of IS( militants) were killed during the encounters, and 3-4 booby-trapped vehicles were also destroyed before they were used in the attack.”

On the western front, Kataeb Hezbollah, a militia operating as part of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Units), rebuffed another attack near the strategic IS stronghold of Tal Afar. The group said a number of militants were either killed or wounded, while several vehicles belonging to the militants were destroyed.

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said in statements on Tuesday that defeating IS needs three extra months. He had previously hoped the battle would wrap up before the end of 2016. His comments are more optimistic than US coalition commanders who envision victory within two years at least. Iraqi generals have said they now control a quarter of Mosul (or 40 districts out of 56 in the east), but the extremist group still bombs and launches suicide attacks on liberated areas.

ISIS remains in control of some areas of the western section, which is adjacent to its strongholds in Syria. But PMU forces say they are ready for liberating ISIS locations in that region, saying the area had been isolated from Syria, depriving the group of supplies from Syria.

The battles for Mosul has forced 137.000 people to flee homes to refugee camps, according to the latest count by the Ministry of Migration and Displacement.

Sniper downs ISIS kommander's son in Tal Afar

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) A state of tension is predominating the western town of Tal Afar, Mosul, after the assassination of the town’s Islamic State-appointed wali (governor), with several armed groups belonging to the group deployed in the streets.

A local source told Alsumaria News that Ossama, the son of Abul Alaa al-Atri, was shot dead by a sniper near his residence. He said the incident infuriated the militants who blamed local fighters from the group for the killing.

Local sources had said earlier this month that divisions grew among IS fighters as the group’s supreme leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, had excluded Iraqi fighters from commanding the current battles with Iraqi government and popular forces, instead assigning foreign fighters to the lead.

In November, Al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Units) declared the recapture of Tal Afar airport from IS, and have been besieging the town since then preparing to storm the town’s center. The town has become isolated from IS strongholds in Syria as well as from Iraq.

Iraqi government forces are fighting in eastern Mosul, and have so far liberated 40 out of 56 districts. Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said Tuesday that the battle to retake Mosul could last for three extra months.

Nijm al-Jubouri, commander of the army’s operations in Mosul, said in statements on Wednesday that reinforcements have arrived to the city to resume the liberation of eastern Mosul districts, adding that progress have stalled over the past few days pending orders to move on and also due to bad weather conditions.

Iraqi forces repel massive ISIS attack in Tel Keppe and al-Hadba

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) Commander of Nineveh Operations announced on Wednesday repulsing an attack launched by 100 fighters of the Islamic State in northern Mosul, while emphasized that heavy losses were inflicted on the enemy.

Major General Najim al-Jabouri, in a press interview, said, “This morning, 100 fighters of the Islamic State launched an attack on our forces from Tel Keppe and al-Hadba in northern Mosul, backed by five vehicles, including two car bombs, and two armored bulldozers.”

“The joint security forces managed to repulse the attack, as well as inflicting heavy human and material losses on the Islamic State,” Jabouri added.

“Fighter jets and smart artillery of the international coalition were also used to repulse the attack,” Jabouri explained.

“The Islamic State tried to take advantage of the bad weather to attack the forces,” he further added.

The province of Nineveh witnessed wide-scale military operations since October 17, to retake the city of Mosul that was captured by the Islamic state in June 2014.

Baghdadi's assistant captured in Mosul

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) A security source in Nineveh Province revealed on Wednesday, that security forces managed to arrest the assistant of the Islamic State’s Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in the eastern side of Mosul, Almada Press reported on Thursday.

The source said, “Yesterday, security forces managed to arrest the terrorist Abu Harith al-Matuiti, the assistant of the Islamic State’s Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in Hayy al-Bakr areas in the eastern side of Mosul, based on accurate intelligence information.”

“The terrorist was arrested after besieging the house of al-Matuiti,” the source added on condition of anonymity.

“We Are Coming, Nineveh” operations were launched in October 17, and succeeded to liberate several areas of the province, and the majority of the eastern side of Mosul.

60 ISIS Bad Guys die in attack on Iraqi forces in Mosul

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) The army’s 16th brigade announced on Wednesday, that the Islamic State group launched an attack north of Mosul, while security forces repulsed the attack and destroyed five vehicles.

Army official, Major General Ali al-Farigi, in a press statement, said, “Troops of the army’s 16th brigade managed to repulse a violent attack launched by the Islamic State on the area of Bawizah, north of Mosul, killing 60 IS militants.”

“The security forces destroyed five vehicles driven by suicide bombers, after repulsing the attack,” Farigi added.

“We Are Coming, Nineveh” operations were launched in October 17, and succeeded to liberate several areas of the province, and the majority of the eastern side of Mosul.

Airstrikes on Mosul destroys bridge

BAGHDAD: Residents of Iraq’s Daesh-held city of Mosul said on Wednesday that an airstrike disabled the city’s last functioning bridge across the Tigris River, forcing residents to cross the river in boats and further disrupting the Daesh group’s movement.

The residents, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity fearing for their safety, said the airstrike happened at dawn on Monday. Iraqi and US-led international coalition officials were not available to comment.

Activists from inside Mosul published pictures Tuesday night of the metal bridge, known as the Old Bridge, showing its twisted girders sinking into the water as boats were seen ferrying the residents from both banks. The bridge, which was built during the reign of King Ghazi in the 1930s, is considered one of the city’s iconic landmarks.

The northern city of Mosul had five bridges spanning the Tigris River, which runs through the center of the city. Four of them have now been bombed in airstrikes since the massive government military operation began on Oct. 17, while one was disabled weeks before the operation began.

The Tigris River runs through the center of Mosul, and until now most of the fighting has been on the eastern bank. Iraqi forces are expected to use pontoon bridges when they reach the river as they have done in previous military operations in other areas.

Fighting on all fronts, but centered mainly on Mosul’s eastern edge, has slowed recently as suicide car bombings, snipers and concern over the safety of civilians have hampered the Iraqi troops’ advance toward the city center.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi had earlier said Daesh had launched more than 900 car bombs against Iraqi troops so far during the Mosul operations, but didn’t give details on how many were driven by suicide bombers or were blown up before reaching their targets.

The offensive “is continuing ... God willing, there will be good news in the coming days,” Al-Abadi added.

Mosul, about 360 km northwest of Baghdad, is Iraq’s second-largest city and the last major Daesh urban bastion of their self-styled caliphate in the country. It fell into the hands of Daesh militants during their June 2014 onslaught that left the group in control of large swaths of northern and western Iraq.

Baghdad Bomb and Bullet Bulletin

1 dead in bombing attack in Mahmoudiya

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) One person was killed and seven others were injured when an explosive device went off in southern Baghdad, a security source was quoted as saying on Wednesday on conditions of anonymity.

The bomb exploded near a popular market area at the district of Mahmoudiya, the source said. Casualties were all civilians.

Since 2014, violence surged Across Iraq, with Islamic State militants taking over wide areas of the country to establish a self-styled “Islamic Caliphate”. The United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq said earlier this week that violence in Iraq during 2016 left more than 12000 dead and more than 14000 wounded. According to the organization, those dead included 6.492 civilians and 5.546 military personnel. Deaths and injuries occurred in Baghdad, Salahuddin, Nineveh, Kirkuk, Anbar and Diyala, UNAMI said, adding that they resulted from military operations against Islamic State as well as in shootings, bombings and suicide attacks against civilians and security across those areas.

Nobody claimed responsibility for the Wednesday attacks, but Some observers believe Islamic State militants have tended to carry out violent attacks in Baghdad and other provinces to divert security pressure on Mosul, where the extremist group struggles to defend its last bastion in Iraq against advancing Iraqi government and popular forces.

The forces found six labs that manufacture IEDs, bombs, and mortar shells in Kokjla city in eastern Mosul, it said, adding that all explosive items were made to target military forces and innocent civilians, including the internally displaced persons. IS elements used the large tunnels as their hideout and shelter, and for their transportation and escape, the ministry added, noting that all tunnels were equipped with electricity and other necessities. The police assault resulted in the destruction of a vehicle owned by the IS operatives, said General Shaker. Since launching an operation to free Mosul from IS on Oct 17, the Iraqi army -- along with allies -- have secured and reclaimed several towns and neighborhoods in the city.

Held by Shin Bet, top Hamas official reveals vital tunnel intel
[IsraelTimes] Bilal Razaineh, who was detained as he entered Israel in November, providing info on underground passages, terror group’s positions and operatives.

A high-ranking Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", operative was tossed in the clink
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
by Israeli security last month after crossing the border from the Gazoo Strip into Israel, the Shin Bet security agency said in a statement Wednesday, announcing that his interrogation provided vast intelligence concerning the Paleostinian terror group’s operations in the coastal enclave.

Bilal Razaineh, 24, was interrogated by Israel’s internal security agency after he was caught attempting to enter Israeli territory on November 27. Razaineh has reportedly been a member of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s armed wing, for nearly a decade, and his interrogation yielded information about the terror group’s tunnel-digging operations beneath the Gazoo Strip.

According to the Shin Bet, Razaineh was involved in Hamas’s military operations, including tunnel digging and sniper training. He provided Israel with intelligence concerning Hamas tunnel routes in the northern Gazoo Strip and the manner in which Hamas is excavating its subterranean networks, as well insider information about Hamas positions and operatives, the Shin Bet said.

His brother, Mustafa Razaineh, is a high-ranking member of the group’s armed wing. As head of Mustafa’s security, he had access to a high level of security. Both are considered high-ranking operatives.

According to a December 1 report from Egyptian news site al-Mogaz, Razaineh fled the Gazoo Strip amid an internal investigation into allegations of corruption in the inner circles of Hamas’s top security officials.

Investigators learned from Razaineh about Hamas’s use of civilian facilities for military purposes. The Razaineh family home served a base for tunnel construction and arms storage, and Mustafa Razaineh and other high-ranking Hamas operatives hid in the Kamel Adwan hospital in the Gazoo Strip during 2014’s Operation Protective Edge, from which they commanded operations for the war against the IDF.

The Shin Bet filed charges against Razaineh in the Beersheba District Court on Wednesday, which including membership in a terrorist organization and arms-related offenses.

News of Razaineh’s disappearance was reported in the Paleostinian press in early December, which came as a surprise to Hamas officials.

Mustafa Razaineh, according to a Fatah report, was an Israeli informant during the 2014 war in the Gazoo Strip.

A few days after Razaineh fled the Gazoo Strip, two other high-ranking Hamas operatives entered Israel, a Jordanian news report said in early December.
An Nahar adds:
Gazoo interior ministry front man Iyad al-Bozum said the man tossed in the clink

was in his 20s but that he were tossed into the calaboose when approaching the border on the Gazook side of the fence.

He said his brother worked in the interior ministry, without providing further details, but added that the man had mental health problems and was not in contact with the Gazoo security services

The captives included Canadians John Ridsdel and Robert Hall, Norwegian Kjartan Sekkingstad, and Filipina Marites Flor.

Ridsdel and Hall were killed by the bandidos after their families failed to meet ransom demands.

Flor was released in June 2016, while Sekkingstad followed after three months.

Police officers seized a revolver and ammunition from Dahim. They also found 4 sachets of alleged "shabu" on the suspect.

Baridji and Dahim were brought to the municipal cop shoppe for investigation.

Mata said they were able to verify the identity of Baridji, who has a standing arrest warrant for kidnapping and serious illegal detention.

Baridji was temporarily detained at the Jolo Municipal Police Station before being transported to Panabo City, Davao del Norte for court hearings.

The police also filed criminal cases against Dahim for illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs.

Major Filemon Tan, the front man of the military’s Western Mindanao Command, identified the suspect as Hairulla Asbang alias Ahadi, who was arrested inside a hospital where he was confined for wounds he sustained in an encounter with government forces on the neighboring island province of Sulu.

Tan said a team of soldiers and coppers also arrested a cohort of Asbang who was with him inside the hospital.

The team, he said, was armed with arrest warrants issued by the regional courts where Asbang was indicted for murder which is non-bailable and carries the maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

According to Tan, Asbang is wanted for the abduction of three foreigners - two Canadians and a Norwegian businessman - and their Filipina companion who were kidnapped while holidaying in a posh island resort in Mindanao in October 2015.

ISIS executes 3 in Kirkuk

Kirkuk/Nineveh (Iraqinews.com) Islamic State militants executed three young men in Kirkuk and arrested five others in Mosul on Wednesday, civilian and police sources have said.

Iraqi police sources were quoted as saying that the extremist group executed three young men in al-Abbasi area, hawija, west of Kirkuk, accusing them of collaboration with security authorities, a charge based on which the group sentenced dozens of Iraqis to death since it took over several cities in the country in 2014.

The trio was executed by a firing squad, the source added.

Several areas in western Kirkuk are still in IS hold, and the situation there has forced thousands to flee their homes to refugee camps.

In Mosul, the group’s militants detained five men for possessing some of the “consolation letters” air-dropped by Iraqi forces on the city. The source revealed that IS had prohibited the possession of the letters which Iraqi forces used to drop from aircraft to morally support civilians stranded in the city and to assure of near victory over IS.

IS has been infamous for executing civilians who disobey its restrictions, and has been accused by aid and rights groups of targeting civilians attempting to flee the city which the group had previously designated as the capital of its self-styled “Islamic Caliphate”.

Difficult living conditions and the life threats under IS have prompted nearly 137.000 to leave Mosul since the start of military operations to retake the city last October.

ISIS executes Palestinian grrl in Damascus

[ARA News] Damascus – Extremists of the Islamic State (ISIS) on Wednesday executed a Palestinian girl after accusing her of supporting the Syrian regime.

Hadil Yassin Abu al-Madi, a Palestinian resident of al-Yarmouk district in Damascus, was arrested by the ISIS-led Hisba Police on suspicions of cooperating with the Syrian regime’s secret service, also known as Mukhabarat.

The Sharia Court in Yarmouk convicted Hadil on charges of spying and ordered her immediate execution on Wednesday.

“ISIS militants publicly executed Hadil in al-Yarmouk. Dozens of people witnessed the brutal execution,” local media activist Wissam Doghmoush told ARA News.

ISIS has been in control of a residential block in southern Damascus since April 2015, when it drove out al-Qaeda-splinter group Jabhat Fateh al-Sham and allied rebel factions. Al-Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood is believed to be the Islamic State’s primary staging area. Their militants also control most of the nearby Yarmouk and Tadamun Districts.

In October, the Islamic State threatened to invade Damascus and apply its puritanical interpretation of Sharia law throughout the capital. ISIS said that their invasion was imminent and vowed to strike at Syrian security forces and the armed opposition.
