According to the local government officials, the Taliban snuffies launched coordinated attack on security posts in Hesarak, Khogyani, and Chaparhar districts on Saturday which was repulsed by the security forces.

According to MoD, at least 8 Lions of Islam were killed and 3 hideouts were destroyed in an Arclight airstrike in Gul Tapa area located in the vicinity of the quiet provincial capital of Kunduz province.
The Ministry of Defense also added that 5 Haqqani networkLions of Islam were killed in a separate Arclight airstrike conducted in central Maidan Wardak province.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) Special Operations personnel seized at least 1,000 kilograms of explosives during an operation in northern Parwan province.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said "Based on intelligence report, General Command of Police Special Units carried out a security operation in the Sayad village, Bagram district of Parwan province."
A statement by MoI said "As a result, General Command of Police Special Units has seized 1,000 kg of explosives."
"The timely discovery of the explosives has foiled terror attacks and saved the city from an expected tragedy," the statement said, adding that "Discoveries like this demonstrate the ever-increasing capability of Afghan National Security Forces to protect the civilians from indiscriminate IED attacks."

[SHABELLENEWS] Truck-loads of Gun-toting Fighters from al-Shabaab ... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... briefly took over town near Somalia’s border with Æthiopia, military official said on Sunday.
The Lions of Islam have seized control of Wajid, a strategic town in Bakool region, about 305Km southwest of Mogadishu following an attack on the bases of the Somali and Æthiopian troops.
A Somali military officer in the region, told Radio Shabelle that the fighters launched the attack under cover of darkness, forcing soldiers to withdraw into nearby army stations.
Residents reported hearing gunfire and kabooms during the attack as Lions of Islam stormed and took control of several significant government checkpoints in the town.
According to a report by pro-Al-Shabaab media outlets, al-Shaboobs have took control of the town for hours and withdrew after they seized weapons from Somali forces.
Latest reports from the town indicate that Somali soldiers along with Æthiopian forces are now back in control, and the situation returned to normal, with business resumed operating.

[Daily Excelsior] A civilian was killed and five persons, including four coppers and a civilian, injured in a grenade attack in Khanyar area of Srinagar this evening while Death Eaters shot at and critically injured a man in Pulwama district of South Kashmire.
Six persons, including two civilians and four cops, were maimed in a grenade blast outside Khanyar cop shoppe this evening. Militants hurled the grenade at a police bunker and it fell on the road injuring four cops and two civilians. One of the injured civilians was declared dead on arrival at the Gousia hospital adjacent to the Police Station. The dear departed was identified as Ghulam Mohammad Khan, 65, of Illahi Bagh Srinagar.
Militants tonight barged into the house of Nisar Ahmad Mir at Prachu, Pulwama but he was not present in the house. As the Death Eaters were coming out of the house, he was heading home and Death Eaters fired at him. He was critically injured and shifted to Pulwama hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar for treatment. Mir is plumber by profession.
In the meantime, normal life in Kashmire was today affected due to a shutdown called by separatists against killing of a civilian in Kupwara district in Army firing three days ago.
Most of the shops, commercial establishments and fuel stations in summer capital Srinagar were closed since morning. The Government offices and educational institutes were closed on the account of Sunday holiday. Public transport was largely off the roads but private vehicles were plying smoothly.
To scuttle protests, security forces in large numbers were deployed in areas falling under five Police Stations of Old City. The security personnel were also deployed in areas like Lal Chowk, Maisuma and Batamaloo of the city. Police said the day passed off peacefully in Srinagar and there was no incident of violence during the day.
The civilian namely Mohammad Yousuf was killed when Army on April 27 opened fire on protesters seeking bodies of two Fidayeen attackers who attacked its base at Panzgam village of Chowkibal area of Kupwara district. The incident triggered protests in Kupwara areas and condemnation from separatists.
The strike was also observed in other districts of the Valley while public transport connectivity on inter-district routes was partially affected. Police detained separatist leader Nayeem Khan at Kralpora area of Kupwara district. A stone-throwing clash erupted between youth and security forces at Bijbehara area of Anantnag district, the police said, adding the situation in rest of the Valley was peaceful.
And the district administration said here that classwork in Sri Pratap Higher Secondary School, Maulana Azad Road and MP Higher Secondary School, Bagh-e-Dilawar Khan here shall remain suspended tomorrow. The classwork in these two schools have had remained suspended since past week after massive protests by students rocked city centre here against police action in Pulwama Degree College and elsewhere

[DAWN] SAHIWAL: Police on Saturday recovered a youth belonging to a known industrialist family of Sahiwal who was kidnapped for ransom on Friday, arresting his two alleged kidnappers, who belonged to a banned bad boy outfit and their controller.
According to sources in Farishta family, Abdul Wahab, 22, a resident of Old Civil Lines, went missing on Friday morning, while his mobile phone was found powered off. Later, the family received an SMS from a mobile phone that Wahab had been kidnapped. The caller demanded Rs10 million for his release.
Victim’s father Yahya Ijaz, a businessman, secretly reported the matter to District Police Officer Dr Atif Ikram, who formed a three-member team headed by City Circle Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gulam Muhammad, CIA police in charge Zafar Dogar and Fateh Sher SHO Imdad Husain to recover the youth and arrest the kidnappers.

The source said that the Islamic State’s hideouts official of Houd al-Zour, the so-called Abu Yahia (The Hornet), was killed, along with one of his aides, by an artillery shelling on the area.
According to information, the hornet is one of the elite leaders of the so-called Wilayat Diyala of the Islamic State, the source added.
Noteworthy, Islamic State cells are significantly active in Houd al-Zour area, and launch several attacks on the area and the nearby villages from time to time.

The cell said in a statement that based on intelligence information, F16 fighter jets and Sukhoi aircraft of the Iraqi Air Force conducted four air strikes in al-Qaim District, in the areas of Husaiba, al-Obaidi, al-Karabla and al-Masharee’.
The air strikes destroyed a hideout in the area of 7 Nissan in al-Qaim District, as well as killing 20 officials of the so-called Wilayat Baghdad of the Islamic State group and wounding others, including jacket wallahs, the statement added.
The air strike was followed by several blasts, due to the kaboom of IEDs and booby-trapped vehicles in the bombarded area, while the air strike also destroyed an explosives plant in al-Karbala area and killed 10 IS Arab members, the statement further explained.
Noteworthy, Anah, Rawa and al-Qaim are still occupied by the Islamic State group, which imposed its control over these cities three years ago, while security forces finished their preparations to retake these areas from the terrorist group.

[IsraelTimes] Police tossed in the slammer Please don't kill me! 17 Paleostinians early Sunday in the East Jerusalem village of Issawiya on suspicion that they participated in rock throwing and other violent activities during protests last week.
Among the arrested were 10 minors who allegedly took part in public disturbances against police that included the throwing of rocks and Molotov cocktails.
The suspects are expected to be brought before the Magistrate’s Court for a hearing on the police’s request to extend their detention.
Violence in East Jerusalem and the West Bank has spiked in the past week as Paleostinians demonstrate solidarity with hunger-striking prisoners currently in Israeli jails.
The IDF said that around 2,000 Paleostinians took part in protests, some of which turned violent. Security forces in most cases responded with riot dispersal means, which in some instances included rubber bullets.

Sweeping through the city center, Kurdish forward units were able to impose full control over the small neighborhoods of al-Mahaci, al-Buserab, Abu Es, Keniseya Asuriyan, al-Kasara and al-Mashir.
Effectively, around 60% of Tabqa city has been brought under Kurdish control while the US-led coalition continuously conducts air raids against ISIS bandidosbully boyz in the northern sector.
Some 14 ISIS bandidosbully boyz were killed on Sunday while a SDF source said their forces had captured a large quantity of ammunition and armaments from hostile jihadist belligerents.

[ALMASDARNEWS] On Sunday, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (Syrian al-Qaeda branch) retook two villages from Jaish al-Islam ...Liwa al-Islam (Brigade of Islam) was established by Zahran Alloush, the son of Saudi-based religious scholar Abdullah Mohammed Alloush, after Syrian authorities released him from prison in mid-2011 where he had been serving time for his Salafist activism. The group claimed responsibility for carrying out the July 2012 Damascus bombing that killed Defense Minister Dawoud Rajiha, Deputy Defense Minister Asef Shawkat, and Assistant Vice President Hassan Turkmani. It was a driving force behind actions in the Damascus region. It cooperated and conducted joint operations with al-Nusra. In Sptember 2013 Saudi Arabia engineered Liwa al-Islam's merger with fifty other more or less Salafist groups as a counterweight to al-Nusra, which the Learned Elders of Islam considered was growing too powereful... in rural Damascus while around a dozen Islamist Lions of Islam on both sides died amid the festivities.
With inter-rebel festivities officially restarted as of last week, the al-Qaeda linked group expelled rival fighters from the towns of Jisreen and Hazzeh.
Meanwhile, ...back at the desert island, Irene was indignant at the thought of doing such a thing without benefit of clergy... skirmishes were observed between the formerly allied rebel factions in the villages of al-Shari, al-Aftres, al-Muhamdiyah and Irbeen.
Ahrar al-Sham ...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014... and Failaq al-Rahman, a Free Syrian Army ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... (FSA) contingent, are also involved in the festivities, fighting alongside Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).
FSA, HTS and Ahrar al-Sham forces now hope to expel Jaish al-Islam from all villages in the East Ghouta rebel heartland, forcing the latter Saudi-backed group to withdraw to its capital Douma.

The infamous terrorist group has been more and more active in recruiting child fighters recently.
One of the Syrian opposition’s media outlets, DeirEzzor24, did an interview with a 13-years-old child named Ahmed Sahleh Hassan from a town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor who had been recruited into ISIS ranks before being sent back to his family recently.
He tells his story by saying the following: "On Sunday, December 21, 2016, there was a Sharia session held in a mosque in the town for the children whose ages ranged from 9 to 16 years. I was among 25 other children and all of us attended those sessions regularly. During them, ’Sheikh Abu Obaidah’, who was a ISIS [ISIS] affiliate from the Gulf, would give us lessons on Sharia, from the end of the Maghreb prayer to the Ishaa. The lessons were about pillars of Islam, faith and stories of the followers of the prophet. He was always keen on encouraging us to perform jihad and anything related to fighting and to show enmity towards anyone not holding the same ideology.
Every week, two ISIS members from the Media Department would come to the mosque, where we were undergoing the sessions, and broadcast footage of ISIS battles in Syria and Iraq."
He adds, "I watched three ISIS video releases in that mosque. One day, after a video about the battle in djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... ended, Sheikh Abu Obaidah said, ’Who wants to pledge his allegiance to the organization and undergo a Sharia session and military training for 50 days?".
The child says, "I raised my hand, along with more than 30 children. At 8.00 PM we were transported by car to a ISIS headquarters in the town. In the early morning, we were sent to their headquarters in al-Bukamal in eastern Deir Ezzor, where we met more than 100 children and we were separated into different groups, each of which consisted of five. Then, each group was sheltered in a separate room in that headquarters which consisted of three floors and many rooms.
A daily schedule was distributed to us. It consisted of three daily lessons which started after the dawn prayer (memorization lesson), Duhr prayer (Monotheism lessons), Maghreb prayer (creed and fiqh issues) and then we would sleep after the Ishaa prayer.
We were divided into groups, each of which consisted of 30 children. We were supervised by Sheikh Abu Baraa Tunissi, and four other members in charge of controlling and managing our rooms. With respects to food, there was a kitchen from which food was distributed to all of us. Each of us would go to the kitchen with an issued card to obtain food.
There was also a big park where we would go to in the afternoon. We were not allowed to leave the headquarter for any reasons, even if some of us felt sick ‐ they would bring a doctor to treat him. We were also barred from communicating with our parents or asking about the location of the headquarters. Also, we were not permitted to speak loudly and the violators would be flogged.
