[New York Post] A hot-headed teen got a slap on the wrist Friday for slugging a Manhattan principal who told him to turn down his music.
Judge Edwina Richardson-Mendelson granted Luis Penzo, 19, youthful offender status and sentenced him to a conditional discharge ‐ as long as he stays out of trouble for three years he’ll dodge prison and a criminal record.
"You made us very proud," the judge said of the surly teen’s compliance with a family therapy program.
Penzo, who sauntered into Manhattan Supreme Court Friday wearing a white T-shirt and red gym shorts, offered no apology for the October 2016 beatdown of Principal Matthew Tossman.
He previously admitted to the attack on Tossman of the Manhattan Early College School for Advertising.
"He grabbed my Beats and was very aggressive so I lost control," he confessed, according to court papers. "I hit him two times."
When the principal asked him to turn down his music, Penzo dropped the headphones on the floor and left the music booming, prosecutors said.
Tossman reached for the device and Penzo pounced on him, leaving the educator with two black eyes and a laceration that needed seven stitches.
Penzo at the time attended Murry Bergtraum High School, which is housed in the same building as Tossman’s school.
Defense lawyer, Donna Henken, declined to comment.
[WASHINGTONTIMES] The psychologist who helped pull off the biggest Social Security fraud in U.S. history was sentenced Friday to 25 years in prison.
Alfred Bradley Adkins was part of the fraud ring orchestrated by Eric C. Conn, one of the country’s most prominent disability lawyers, and David B. Daugherty, a Social Security judge who rubber-stamped at least 1,700 bogus applications for benefits.
All told, the scam would have cost the government at least $600 million in fraudulent lifetime benefits, according to the government’s conservative estimate. Some $93 million were already paid out before the scam was stopped, the government said.
Judge Danny C. Reeves, sitting in Kentucky, delivered the 25-year sentence in court Friday, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported. That’s a stiffer sentence than either Conn, who got 12 years, or Daugherty, who got four years, and it’s also more than the penalty the government had been seeking.
But the judge said it was appropriate given the massive size of the fraud and the four charges Adkins was convicted of: mail fraud, wire fraud, making false claims and conspiracy.

A finance minister for the breakaway republic of Donetsk was wounded in a car bombing, according to an official Russian language news account.
Alexander Timofeev, Donetsk People's Republic minister of finance, was in the car when a bomb was detonated Saturday morning.
According to a news account in Sputnik, there were two explosions. Timofeev was listed a in critical condition.
According to RIA Novosti, Timofeev suffered head injuries in the attack.
A Russian military journalist said that Timofeev was not hurt in the explosion. In his blog post he hinted that the attempt on Timofeev was an internal conflict. He also said that August's attempt on Plotnitsky was also an internal matter, and that a rumor circulating in Donetsk claimed Zakharchenko was on his way out and Timoffev was suggested as a possible replacement.
According to lb.ua, Timofeev commanded the rebel combat formation Oplot, which fought at the Donetsk airport until it fell into rebel hands in February, 2015.
Two other bombing attempts on rebel officials were made in August, according to Sputnik. A bomb was found near the personal residence of Donetsk president Aleksandr Zakharcheko.
Another assassination attempt earlier in August was made on Lugansk president Igor Plotnitsky. In that incident,a roadside bomb was detonated, resulting in mild injuries

Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin said that Timofeev was not hurt in the explosion. In his blog post, he hinted that the attempt on Timofeev was an internal government conflict gone hot. He first suggested, however, the possibility that Ukrainian aligned groups were responsible for the attack as the most likely explanation.

South Korea’s weather agency said a magnitude 3.0 earthquake rocked North Korea on Saturday and that it appeared to be a natural occurrence. However, reports about the temblor contained conflicting information about its scale and nature.
A statement from China's commerce ministry said restrictions on refined petroleum products would apply from 1 October, and on liquefied natural gas immediately.
Under the UN resolution, China will still be able to export a maximum of two million barrels of refined petroleum to North Korea annually, beginning next year.
North Korea is estimated to have imported 6,000 barrels of refined petroleum daily from China in 2016 - the equivalent of nearly 2.2 million in total for the entire year.
But China has not published data on oil exports since 2014.

[REUTERS] Time Inc (TIME.N) said on Friday it was looking to sell several assets, including Time Inc UK, and warned it experienced more-than-anticipated softness in both print and advertising revenue during the current quarter.
The publisher, which said in April that it would not sell itself, said assets identified for sale include Time Customer Service and a majority stake in the Essence magazine.
The assets marked for divestitures represent about $488 million, or 17 percent of total revenue for the 12-months ended June 30, the company said.

The legislation on honour killings will introduce strict punishment for the convicts making it tougher than the ordinary murder cases.
Under the new law relatives of the victim would only be able to pardon the killer if he is sentenced to capital punishment. However, Switzerland makes more than cheese... the culprit would still face a mandatory life sentence of twelve-and-a-half years.

[DAWN] DADU: An investigation team constituted by Sindh IGP A.D. Khowaja to probe the murder case of Tania Khaskheli recorded statements of the aggrieved family and eyewitnesses in Jhangara-Bajara town near Sehwan, 48 kilometres from here, on Friday while police nabbed four controllers in the crime in Kotri.
The area’s landlord, Khan Mohammad Nohani, along with his henchmen, allegedly barged into the house of Tania, a student of class-X, on Sept 9 and shot her dead after the girl and her family turned down his marriage proposal, according to media reports.
Two members of the three-member team, Inspector Siraj Ahmed Lashari and Inspector Rana Shafiq Ahmed inspected the scene of the crime, collected evidence and recorded statements of family members Ghulam Qadir Khaskheli (father), Khurshid Begum (mother), Eman, Nadia and Mahak (sisters) and other eyewitnesses.
The team, whose head was additional IGP Aftab Pathan, also checked the roster at Jhangara-Bajara cop shoppe and the first report of the crime as it was written in it. The town’s police had failed to arrest three major suspects in the girl’s murder case.
Jhangara-Bajara SHO Mazhar Naich said that two main suspects Maula Bux and Khan Nohani had already been placed in durance vile Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'! while police were conducting raids to nab the remaining ones.
Late Tania’s mother Khurshid Begum told Dawn that the family was continuously receiving threats from the suspects and they were threatening them to leave the town or get killed. She was feeling unsafe and needed more protection, she said.
Sehwan ASP Dr Sami Malik said that police had already provided protection to the victim family as it was now their responsibility. Police conducted more raids on a number of places to arrest more suspects in the light of new information gleaned from the arrested suspects and other sources, he said.
Kotri police raided Chhandan Wah near Matiari town and succeeded to arrest four suspects identified as Nazeer Ahmed Solangi, Nadeem Sheikh, Baqir Sheikh and Nadir Nohani of Sehwan who were stated to be controllers in the Tania murder case. They had escaped to Chhandan Wah after the girl’s murder, said police.
Jamshoro SSP Irfan Bahdur said the investigation was moving ahead at satisfactory pace as police had succeeded in arresting the main suspects while the remaining ones too would be held within no time.
He said that police would never show leniency to any influential suspect wanted in the case and arrest him sooner or later. The suspects nabbed by Kotri police were being interrogated, he said.
Sindhiani Tehrik central leader Husna Rahoojo along with a delegation of her party leaders, PML-N MNA Marvi Memon and MPA Soorath Thebo and PPP MPA Saeed Ghani offered condolences to late Tania’s father and assured him of their support.

Major boycott in the works. The silent majority will do what they do best, keep quiet and avoid controversy which means they will stay away. Yes, a vocal few but best course of action is to stay out of it. This will spread to all sports especially those sports that cater to black players. Those not American go elsewhere. Problem is they will take their hatred with them and even the Africans see them as problem people.

When a friend of mine at the American Legion in Ohio found out the Pittsburg Steelers stayed in their locker room during the Banner being played in Chicago's Soldier Field, he took off his Steelers jersey he wore for the game and tossed it in the trash. Guess what, NFL, you all lose.
