province of Afghanistan in the latest wave of shelling from the other side of the Durand Line.

The provincial government in Nangarhar in a statement said the shells landed in Nazian district of Nangarhar.

The statement further added that the shelling started at around 11 am local time and continued until 4 pm.

The Nangarhar government said there are no reports regarding the possible damages and casualties as a result of the shelling.

This comes as more than 80 artillery shells were fired on Nangarhar province last week.

According to the local officials, the shelling took place on Nazian and Achin districts of the province but no casualties were incurred to the residents.

The Pak officials are claiming that the majority of the attacks on their security posts take place from the Afghan soil.

The Pak military said last week that a soldier was killed and another was maimed after bandidos forces of Evil opened fire on their check post in Khyber Agency

Taliban captures Ab Kamari district in Badghis
Residents from at least three villages in Badghis province, in the west of Afghanistan, said the Taliban attacked the area on Thursday evening and torched a number of houses.

The incident, which took place in Sina Ordo, Tagab Rabat and Bai villages in Ab Kamari district, left at least 200 families displaced as public uprising forces tried to fight off the Taliban.

“We had no option but to leave our houses during the evening by walking across difficult terrain. The Taliban took our belongings from our houses when they came to our village. They set fire to some houses (in our village),” said Hafizullah, one resident who was forced to flee.

“Taliban destroyed men and women and burnt our houses and there were some copies of the Holy Quran which were burnt. Where should we go?” asked Mullah Mohammad, another displaced resident.

The displaced families said they are now living out in the open with no shelter.

“All my belongings and my wife were in the house when the Taliban came and set alight everything,” said Bibi Roshan, a member of a displaced family from Ab Kamari district.

“The only reason that the Taliban attacked our villages is that we support government and we would not bow to the terrorists,” said Qari Rahmatullah, a resident of the district.

Mirza Ali Bedar, the district governor of Ab Kamari, confirmed the incident and said at least 200 families have fled their homes in search of safety.

He said the district council is doing what it can to help the displaced families.

“Taliban has taken all the belongings of the residents of the villages,” the district governor said. “We are trying to help these displaced families.”

According to residents, the Taliban has also taken control of the villages and are using civilian homes as their strongholds.

The Taliban has not commented on these claims.

Navy Foils Piracy Attempt On Indian Vessel In Gulf Of Aden
[RADIOSHABELLE] The Navy’s elite Marcos commandos on Friday foiled a piracy attempt against an Indian carrier with 26 crew members in the Gulf of Aden, a key shipping route near the southern tip of the Red Sea between Somalia and Yemen.

The Marocs on board INS Trishul ‐ on an anti-piracy mission ‐ responded quickly and rescued the boat that was targeted by 12 pirates.

"The piracy attempt was made on the Indian ship MV Jag Amar at 12:30 pm and the INS Trishul, which was on an anti-piracy deployment in the region, responded immediately," Navy spokesperson Captain DK Sharma said.

All 26 Indian crew members on board the Indian ship were safe. The Marcos commandos carried out a swift operation to rescue the 85,000-tonne bulk carrier. An AK 47, one magazine with 27 rounds, ropes, fuel drums, and ladders were seized by the commandos.

The Navy has been actively engaged in anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden. In April, it rescued a Liberian vessel, MV Lord Mountbatten, in the Gulf of Aden after helicopter-borne marine commandos fired at the pirates who were attempting to hijack the ship.

Earlier this year the Navies of India and China rescued 19 Filipino crew members on board a ship in the Gulf of Aden hijacked by Somali pirates after a 10-hour standoff. Pirates stormed into a foreign merchant vessel registered in Tuvalu, an island nation in the South Pacific. The merchant ship was traveling from Kelang in Malaysia to the port city of Aden in Yemen.

Bodies of murdered Christians recovered at Sirte
[Libya Herald] The bodies of 21 Christians murdered by the so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
in Sirte in February 2015 have been recovered and taken to a mortuary in Misrata for identification and a coroner’s inquest.

The announcement from the investigation bureau of Misrata’s Crime Prevention Department has been confirmed by the Attorney General’s office.

According to the bureau, all the heads were severed, the bodies were dressed in the orange "execution" outfits seen in a video of them being killed, and hands were been tied behind the backs.

Twenty of the murdered men were Egyptian, 13 of them from the same village of al-Our in Egypt’s Minya governorate. The 21st was a sub-Saharan African, believed to be a Ghanaian.

The head of investigations at the Attorney General’s office, Sadek Assour, last week announced that the location where the bodies had been buried had been revealed by one of the IS members during interrogation.

Still no fuel for south; Misratan forces believed to be blocking deliveries
[Libya Herald] Sabha and the south are still without fuel despite promises from the fuel depot in Misrata that 100 fuel tankers would arrive 12 days ago.

Fuel tankers drivers had stopped delivering to the south because of attacks and theft by criminal gangs. However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
Sebha Mayor Hamed Rafeh told the Libya Herald a fortnight ago that there had been an agreement to transport the fuel first from Misrata to Jufra in a military convoy with security provided by Misratan forces and then from Jufra accompanied by a detachment of the Libyan National Army.

Nothing has arrived, although this newspaper was told during the week by a reliable source that 40 tankers had arrived in Jufra from Misrata and were ready to move on to Sebha. They did not travel further south, however, and it appears that the fuel has gone elsewhere.

There is no reason now not to send tankers, Mayor Rafeh said today. The road between Jufra and Sebha was now secured by the LNA and safe.

He said that he had again been promised by the depot there would be a delivery of fuel arriving tomorrow, but he did not believe it. He had had too many promises and nothing had come. He said that although the authorities in Misrata had approved deliveries, he believed others in the city were preventing it.

It is suggested that the problem is with the forces that were forced out of Tamenhint airbase.

Clashes in east Tripoli
[Libya Herald] Fighting today in the east Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
district of Arada, near Suq al-Juma, is reported to have left four people dead and 17 others injured, seven of them seriously.

The cause of the festivities, which resulted in locals fleeing the streets and forced to remain indoors, is unclear. According to reports, it was a continuation of fighting that started last night in Ain Zara district further south between the members of the 42nd Battalion and the Abdul Raouf al-Jabari Brigade. The former are based in Ain Zara, the latter in Arada. Both are said to have been legalised by the Presidency Council’s interior ministry.

The Jabari brigade was then counter-attacked today at its headquarters in Arada by the 42nd. A nearby building belonging to economy ministry is said to have been set alight in the fighting.

According to another report, though, the fighting was about drugs dealing. This this has not been confirmed.

The situation is now said to have calmed after Rada (deterrance) forces were sent in to re-establsh order in the district.

Doctor accused in NYC terror plots nabbed in Philippines
[AyPee] A Filipino doctor accused of plotting terrorist attacks in the U.S. was incarcerated
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
months ago in the Philippines for alleged involvement in kidnappings and beheadings blamed on pro-ISIS bad boys.

Chief State Counsel Ricardo Paras said that a Philippine court is considering a request that Russell Salic be extradited to face terrorism financing complaints. U.S. officials said Friday that they disrupted a plot by Salic and two other ISIS sympathizers to carry out attacks at various New York City locations, including concert venues, subway stations and Times Square in the summer of 2016.

Even if the U.S. extradition request is granted, the Department of Justice in Manila would have to decide whether to let Salic face criminal complaints in the Philippines first or be allowed to be flown to the U.S. to answer those terror allegations.

Paras said, "The U.S. can also request for a temporary surrender of Salic to its custody, but it's in our options to require him to face criminal complaints here first."

Salic is accused of sending money to help finance the planned attacks, according to U.S. court documents. He allegedly told an undercover FBI agent that his ultimate goal was to join the ISIS in Syria but that "it would be a great pleasure if we can slaughter" people in New York.

One of the defendants, Abdulrahman El Bahnasawy, was arrested after traveling from Canada to New Jersey in May 2016 to stage the attacks. An American suspect, Talha Haroon, was arrested last year in Pakistain.

Haroon's extradition was halted in March by a Pakistain court. At the time, Haroon's lawyer Tariq Asad said that his client's father, Haroon Rashid, told the court that his son is innocent and that his life would be in danger if he is extradited to the U.S. where President Trump has "biased and prejudiced policy against the Moslems."

Filipino state prosecutors say Salic was taken into custody around April of this year for alleged involvement in the abduction of six sawmill workers, two of whom were later beheaded, in the southern Philippine town of Butig in Lanao del Sur province in 2016. The kidnappings and beheadings have been blamed on the Maute group.

"In a shoot-out with the police, four terrorists, including the notorious Ibraham, aka Afia, were killed," SSP Anwar said.

A sniper rifle and three pistols were recovered from the suspects.

"The hard boyz were wanted for an attack on the Rangers in Korangi No 5 and a deadly grenade attack on police personnel in Awami Colony," the police official said.

Anbar Antix

ISIS Big Turban, 5 others smoked in Iraqi airstrike

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) A senior Islamic State leader was killed in an airstrike by the international coalition in western Anbar, a security source from the province said.

“The airstrike targeted an IS headquarters in the desert of Qaim leaving Majid Mete’b Ojail al-Mahallawi, and five of his guards killed,” the source told Alghad Press on Friday. “Mahallawi pledged allegiance to the group in 2006. He took part in the first attack against Fallujah as well as the operations in Mosul and Qaim, where he settled.”

“Mahallawi kidnapped and tortured a lot of police and army personnel in Qaim after the group took control on it. He also recruited many youth in Iraq and Syria,” the source added.

On Thursday, the U.S.-led Coalition pounded IS locations in Qaim killing five militants.

Anbar’s western towns of Qaim and Rawa have been held by the extremist group since 2014, when it occupied one third of Iraq to proclaim a self-styled Islamic “Caliphate”. Iraqi troops were able to return life back to normal in the biggest cities of Anbar including Fallujah, Ramadi and others after recapturing them in 2015 and 2016.

Iraqi army announced the total recapture of the town of Annah, hours after recapturing neighboring Rayhana area, last month. Troops also liberated Akashat region, between Rutba town, on borders with Jordan, and Qaim, on borders with Syria.

3 ISIS suicide bombers die in Annah

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) Three suicide attackers were killed as they attempted infiltration into a train station in west of Anbar, the military media reported.

“The Jazeera Operations Command managed to kill three suicide bombers who attempted infiltration into al-Feheimi train station, south of Annah,” the Defense Ministry’s War Media Cell reported on Saturday.

Military operations have been ongoing to comb liberated regions in western Anbar.

Iraqi army announced the total recapture of Annah, hours after recapturing neighboring Rayhana area, in September. Troops also liberated Akashat region, between Rutba town, on borders with Jordan, and Qaim, on borders with Syria.

40 ISIS Bad Guys die in 3 Iraqi airstrikes near Qaim

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Forty-six Islamic State militants, including leaders, were killed in three airstrikes carried out by Iraqi fighter jets in Anbar, Interior Ministry said.

The airstrike totally destroyed the location, killing 20 militants, some of whom were leaders of the so-called Baghdad, Al-Furat and Anbar states and wounding others.”

Among the main killed members, according to the statement, were “Abu Tareq, the military emir of the so-called Baghdad State. He used to be a former officer. He was close aid of the group’s supreme leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. He planned for several operations in Baghdad including Karrada operation in 2016.”

Baghdad Bomb and Bullet Bulletin

2 die in separate incidents in Baghdad province

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Two persons were killed, while eight others were wounded in a bomb blast and armed attack in south and west of Baghdad, a security source said.

“A civilian was killed, while six others were wounded as a bomb, placed near a market, exploded in al-Zidan village in Abu Ghraib region, west of Baghdad,” the source told Baghdad Today on Saturday.

Moreover, the source, who asked to remain anonymous, said “unknown gunmen opened fire against a civilian in al-Sihha district in al-Dora, south of Baghdad.” The victim was immediately killed.

Violence in the country has surged further with the emergence of Islamic State Sunni extremist militants who proclaimed an “Islamic Caliphate” in Iraq and Syria in 2014.

A monthly count by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI), which excludes security members deaths, said 196 civilians were killed, while 381 others were wounded due to violence and armed conflicts during the month of September. The fatalities included 10 foreign nationals. Baghdad was the most affected province with 37 deaths and 157 injuries. Dhi Qar province came in the second place with 82 killed and 93 injured. Anbar came in the third place with 20 killed and 46 injured.

The total figure of September’s casualties marked an increase from the figure in August, which reached 297 Iraqis dead and wounded.

While most of of the explosions and attacks went without a claim of responsibility, Islamic State has claimed several incidents.

Hamas claims to arrest senior Islamic State leaders in Gaza
[IsraelTimes] Terror group is mending relations with Egypt, which is fighting a bitter conflict with IS in the Sinai

Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, forces in the Gazoo Strip have tossed in the slammer
Please don't kill me!

members, including the group’s leader in the coastal enclave, the terror group said Saturday.

"This morning, security forces arrested Nour Issa, 27, who is a leader of the deviant thought movement and is from Bureij Camp in central Gazoo, along with others," a Hamas source said, using a phrase routinely used to refer to jihadists, including IS.

The internal security service confirmed on its Facebook page that it had made a number of arrests.

"One of the leaders of the deviant thought has been arrested along with others," it said, without giving a name.

Issa and three others were holding a meeting in the house of one of the members in the southern Gazoo city of Rafah when they were arrested. A large stash of weapons were also found, Hebrew media reports said.

Hamas has run Gazoo for a decade but it has been challenged by small hardline factions, some of them inspired by IS, who advocate a stricter, Salafist interpretation of Islam.

Some have carried out sporadic rocket attacks into Israel in defiance of an informal truce agreed by Hamas.

In August, a jacket wallah allegedly linked to IS killed a Hamas guard in southern Gazoo along the border with Egypt, in a rare attack against the Islamists.

The arrests also come amid attempts by Hamas and the Fatah party to resolve a decade-long split and see the Paleostinian Authority return to rule over Gazoo. Talks are set to continue in Egypt next week.

Egypt has been key to facilitating the deal after Hamas and Cairo mended long-strained ties.

Relations between Hamas and Egypt were hampered, particularly over Hamas’ support for Islamic forces of Evil fighting Egypt in the Sinai and Hamas ties to the Moslem Brüderbund.

As part of the rapprochement, Hamas has been trying to convince Egypt that it is a reliable security partner. It has deployed more troops along the border with Egypt’s northern Sinai region, where the Egyptian military is battling the so-called "Sinai Province" of IS.

Hamas also recently made a gesture toward Egypt with a new policy document that dropped its longtime association with the Moslem Brüderbund and identified itself as a Paleostinian movement fighting only against what it calls Israeli occupation.

Egypt also controls the enclave’s southern border, which is mostly closed for the 2 million residents of Gazoo as part of an Israeli and Egyptian blockade. Israel and Egypt have enforced the blockade, citing security reasons, since the Hamas terror group seized control of Gazoo a decade ago.

Hamas previously had close cooperation with IS.

Hamas had refused to crack down on smuggling by IS through tunnels run by its members under the Gazoo-Sinai border. Instead, the Paleostinian terror group has looked to this activity as a source of income, taxing imports.

[Channel NewsAsia] Eight suspected militants, including those with alleged links to Abu Sayyaf and Islamic State, have been arrested in anti-terror raids, Malaysian police said on Saturday. The arrests were made in the states of Sabah, Selangor and Perak, between September 27 and October 6.

In the first series of arrests in Sabah, two Malaysians, two Filipinos and a Filipino with Malaysian permanent residency are accused of helping Abu Sayyaf rebels infiltrate Malaysia through Sabah. The raid is a follow-up to the arrests of Abu Sayyaf suporters on September 14, when seven Filipinos were arrested, according to Inspector-General of Police Mohamed Fuzi Harun.

In a separate raid on October 1, an Albanian man was arrested in Selangor for allegedly communicating with IS militants overseas. The 35-year-old is a guest lecturer at a local public university.

Russia strikes kill 120 IS group fighters, over 60 'foreign mercenaries' in Syria: Moscow

group fighters and 60 foreign mercenaries were killed in a series of Russian air strikes in Syria over the past 24 hours, the defence ministry in Moscow said on Saturday.

"A command post of the gunnies and up to 80 (IS group) fighters including nine natives of the Northern Caucasus were destroyed in the area of Mayadeen," the ministry said, adding some 40 IS fighters were killed around the town of Albu Kamal.

As a result of an air strike more than 60 foreign mercenaries from the former Soviet Union, Tunisia, and Egypt were killed south of Deir Ezzor.

The ministry said the "large numbers of foreign mercenaries" were coming into the Syrian border town of Albu Kamal from Iraq.

Mayadeen is one of the Islamic State group's last bastions in Syria.

The advances against IS group in Deir Ezzor have cost a heavy civilian corpse count from Russian and coalition air raids.

The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Russian air strikes on Thursday night killed 14 people, including three children, fleeing across the Euphrates on rafts near Mayadeen.

Russia has not acknowledged any civilian deaths from its strikes since it intervened in Syria in 2015, and dismisses the Observatory's reporting as biased.

Moscow has been carrying out air strikes in support of its ally Damascus targeting both IS in Deir Ezzor province and rival jihadists led by al-Qaeda's former Syria affiliate in Idlib province in the northwest.

Turkey starting 'serious operation' in Syria's Idlib says Erdogan
[AlAhram] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
said on Saturday that it and Syrian rebel groups it backs are starting a military operation in Syria's Idlib, where a jihadist alliance is blocking efforts to impose a truce between turbans and the Syrian government.

Idlib and surrounding areas of northwest Syria are among the largest bastions for rebel groups fighting Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Lord of the Baath...
, but have increasingly fallen under the sway of jihadist bully boy factions.

Ottoman Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said the operation, part of a de-escalation deal agreed between Turkey, Iran and Russia, will involve Syrian rebel groups crossing into Idlib supported by Ottoman Turkish soldiers from inside Turkey's borders.

"There's a serious operation in Syria's Idlib today and it will continue," Erdogan said in a speech to his AK Party.

"Now this step has been taken, and it is underway," he said, adding that Ottoman Turkish forces were not yet involved and that it was a rebel operation so far.

Russia, an ally of Assad, is backing the operation from the air, he said.

Much of Idlib is controlled by the jihadist Tahrir al-Sham alliance, spearheaded by a former al Qaeda affiliate that changed its name last year from the Nusra Front.

"We will never allow a terror corridor along our borders in Syria," Erdogan said. "We will continue to take other initiatives after the Idlib operation."

Tahrir al-Sham has pledged to keep fighting Syrian government forces and their allies, casting doubt on the de-escalation agreement, but Ankara has worked to lure snuffies from it and two groups have defected from the jihadist alliance.

and Kurdish groups.

The FSA groups supported by Turkey are now ready to enter Idlib, Mustafa Sejari, a bigwig in the Liwa al-Mutasem group said.

"The Free Syrian Army with support from Ottoman Turkish troops is in full readiness to enter the area but until this moment there is no movement," he said.

Erdogan said last month that Turkey would deploy troops in Idlib province as part of the de-escalation agreement brokered by Russia in August.

Another FSA rebel in the Euphrates Shield campaign told Rooters he believed an incursion into northwest Syria was imminent.

The Hamza Brigade, also part of Euphrates Shield, posted video online of what it said was a convoy of its forces heading for Idlib.

Residents near the Bab al-Hawa border crossing with Turkey in Syria sent Rooters photographs of what they said was a section of the frontier wall being removed by the Ottoman Turkish authorities.

Idlib's population has ballooned to at least two million as thousands of civilians and combatants have left areas seized by the Syrian army in other parts of the country, with the help of Russian jets and Iran-backed militias.

#1  This has to do with a valley and a pass that communicates between Turkey and Syria. I do not know the names. But given the geography it is high-prize strategic. Wish I could be more specific. It also involves the Syrian Kurds, who are just east of it. Again, wish I could be more specific. A relief or contour map of the area would show the geography = strat-comms.

Turkey and Russia agreeing on partitioning Syria. USA and Russia have been doing parallel in re Syria. Those talks should be formalized. Russia has strategic interests with Turkey in the area but not globally, where she does have strategic interests with USA. Ergo, to Russia, USA is a far more valuable strategic partner than Turkey ever can be, especially with Turkey decimating her military command structures.

With Luck, all four Kurd groups, or at least three of them, sit with the big boys (USA, Russia and India) to draw the sovereignty boundaries in MENA.

Iraqi militia finds 5 mass graves

Hawija (IraqiNews.com) The pro-government paramilitary troops have seized several mass graves containing relics of civilians and security personnel in southwest of Kirkuk.

The media service of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) said in a statement on Saturday, “troops ran into ten mass graves containing relics of security personnel and civilians who were executed by Islamic State in southwest of Hawija.”

The troops, according to the statement, “coordinate with specialized teams to check the relics and identify them.”

Some of the relics were for women and children, he added.

On Thursday, PMFs said two other mass graves were found containing relics of security personnel and civilians in Hawija. Troops recently ran into three mass graves at the villages of Abu Sakhra and al-Therban, also southwest of Hawija, as operations proceeded to clear the town.

The United Nations said last week that nearly 78,000 people could still be trapped in their homes.

Late September, Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi and the Joint Operations Command announced beginning of the second phase of Hawija offensive.

According to Defense Ministry’s War Media Cell, 557 IS militants were killed, while more than 100 villages and regions were liberated during the first phase, which launched on September 24th.
