[BREITBART] Oakland coffee shop Hasta Muerte Coffee refuses to serve police due to a concern for the "safety of customers."
The policy came to light after NBC Bay Area reported the coffee shop refused to serve an officer in uniform on February 16.
KCRA reports that the store took to social media, saying, "We have a policy of asking police to leave for the physical and emotional safety of our customers and ourselves."
An Instagram post by Hasta Muerte provides an overview of the store’s position, saying in part:
We know in our experience working on campaigns against police brutality that we are not alone saying that police presence compromises our feeling of physical & emotional safety. There are those that do not share that sentiment ‐ be it because they have a friend or relative who is a police, because they are white or have adopted the privileges whiteness affords, because they are home- or business- owning, or whatever the particular case may be. If they want to make claims about police being part of the community, or claims that race trumps the badge & gun when it comes to police, they must accept that the burden of proof for such a claim is on them.
Hasta Muerte also noted, "The facts are that [people of color], women, and queer police are complicit in upholding the same law and order that routinely criminalizes and terrorizes black and brown and poor folks, especially youth, trans, and houseless folks."
This statement dovetails with KCRA’s report that Hasta Muetre shared a post in Spanish, which said, "Talk to your neighbors, not the police."
The refusal to serve police comes as the Trump administration is suing Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, for the state’s sanctuary city policy.

Oakland PD should announce that Hasta Muerte Coffee is a No Go zone for officers in or out of uniform.
#11
"911. What's your emergency?"
"This is Hasta Muerte Coffee. We're being robbed. There's a guy with a gun."
"Hasta Muerte? The place that doesn't serve police officers?"
"Well, yes, but we need the police NOW! The guy is shooting people."
"Sorry, ma'am. But under the directive of the Commissioner for Public Relations, we're not allowed to send police officers anywhere that they are not welcome."
"But, but... he's SHOOTING people!"
"Sorry. We'll send a squad car later this evening to check out the scene. From the outside, of course"
Sound of gunshots. End of call.

The police should announce that as they are not welcome, police service will not be given to the place no matter what happens. And I'll wager the fire dept will follow suit, only protecting neighboring buildings and watching theirs burn.
Another thing they can do is ensure it gets a nice round of inspections every week. Building up to code? Can you pass a health inspection? All permits proper and up to date?

[Libya Observer] Family of Mahmoud al-Werfalli, who is wanted for war crimes by the International Criminal Court (ICC), called for his immediate release.
Al-Werfalli is a commander of Khalifa Haftar ...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. "The arrest of Mahmoud is serious and unacceptable as he had put his life on the line for Dignity Operation while other cities were backing up terrorism. And now the heroes like Mahmoud who fought for Dignity Operation are put in prison," al-Werfalli’s family said in a statement.
"We reject the ICC arrest warrant for our son who was fighting terrorism while ICC did not move along." The statement reads.

[Breitbart] A Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... commander released last year in exchange for 82 kidnapped schoolgirls resurfaced in a video this week, boasting of the jihadi group’s control of northern Nigeria’s Sambisa Forest and mocking government claims that the group has been defeated.
The video surfaced less than a month after Boko Haram forces of Evil attacked a secondary school in Dapchi, Yobe state, kidnapping over 100 girls. Critics of the government’s policies of paying ransom or freeing forces of Evil in exchange for the girls contend that abductions will not only continue, but increase as the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... affiliate leverages the policy to their benefit.
In a video obtained by the outlet Sahara Reporters, Boko Haram commander Shuibu Moni claims to be living comfortably in the Sambisa forest, for years Boko Haram’s stronghold in its home state, Borno. Moni, speaking in Arabic and Hausa, states that the terrorist group is thriving and that any reports that the Nigerian military has taken control of the Sambisa forest are untrue. While the video surfaced on Wednesday, it is not dated.

[RT] An Islamic school teacher in La Belle France has been sentenced to one year in jail for brutally beating his 12-year-old student and for shaving off the boy’s "non-Koranic" hair, which was colored blonde.
The teacher, along with three other men, was convicted of kidnapping and violence against a minor by the Pontoise criminal court on Friday, French media report. The shocking incident occurred last April, when the boy showed up at his Arabic class at the Sablon mosque, in the municipality of Sarcelles, north off Gay Paree.
The teacher apparently did not favor the new hairstyle sported by the student, saying his blonde fringe went against "Koranic rules." As a "punishment," he decided to shave off his pupil’s tinted hair in the middle of class.
In Dire Revenge, the boy later pelted the offender’s house with eggs only to run into more trouble. The teacher called the boy’s stepfather and got permission to teach him "a good lesson," with the condition that it wouldn’t leave marks on his body.
The boy was sent to clean up the mess made by the eggs but, when he showed up at his teacher’s house, he was attacked by him and three others. The teacher, his 20-year-old brother and two youth workers employed by the city held the boy for around two hours slapping and punching him, with breaks to give the teen water and a handkerchief.
When the young victim was finally released and arrived home, his stepfather, who himself eventually got a six-month suspended sentence, ignored the boy’s swollen face and bruises.
"This is not a religious problem but an educational one," the teacher’s lawyer insisted at court, adding that his client regretted the punishment, and that it went beyond what he had intended. In the meantime, the three other men were given from six to eight months behind bars, while the boy was awarded €5,000 in compensation.

[Breitbart] The trial of jihadi killer Omar Mateen ... the Afghan-"American" who decided he was a soldier of the Caliphate and shot fifty unarmed people to death in a Florida gay bar he used to frequent... ’s wife Noor Salman is still in the jury selection phase, but documents filed with the court have challenged some assumptions about the Pulse nightclub massacre, most notably the idea that Mateen targeted the Orlando, Florida, club because it catered to gay patrons.
Instead, a motion by the defense claims that Mateen scouted several other sites first and settled on the Pulse because it had weak security.

[DAWN] A Pakistain International Airline (PIA) steward was detained in Gay Paree by French airport authorities for allegedly being in possession of four kilogrammes of heroin, DawnNewsTV reported on Saturday. "It's for personal use only!"
"Eight and a half pounds of it?"
The suspect, according to reports, was carrying four packets of heroin weighing one kilogramme each, worth at least Rs40 million. "Damn, Jean-Pierre! Lookit the size of that needle!"
The flight was bound from Gay Paree to Islamabad. According to a notice sent to PIA authorities, the plane's crew, as well as the three pilots, were made to undergo thorough checking and were detained at the airport for several hours.
So far, the PIA has received no official confirmation of the incident from the French authorities. However, there's more than one way to stuff a chicken... the national carrier's spokesperson, Mashood Tajwar, said that the suspect had been suspended from service until further investigation. If the allegations are proven to be true, he will be terminated, Tajwar added.

[DAWN] While giving a policy statement in the National Assembly, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif said on Friday that Pakistain would not serve as a proxy for the United States in any war.
Another minister told the house that the government planned to repatriate Afghan refugees in two years.
The foreign minister said people of Afghanistan and other Moslem countries often wanted Pakistain to take part in the wars fought within their borders. "However Pakistain will not act as a proxy in any US-led war," he said.
Mr Asif was responding to a calling-attention notice of Jamaat Ulema-e-Islam ...Assembly of Islamic Clergy, or JUI, is a Pak Deobandi (Hanafi) political party. There are two main branches, one led by Maulana Fazlur Rahman, and one led by Maulana Samiul Haq. Fazl is active in Pak politix and Sami spends more time running his madrassah. Both branches sponsor branches of the Taliban, though with plausible deniability... -F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Deobandi holy man, known as Mullah Diesel during the war against the Soviets, his sympathies for the Taliban have never been tempered by honesty ... who wanted to know why Pakistain had not voted against the war in Syria during a debate in the UN Human Rights Committee.
Mr Rehman said that of the eight Moslem countries in the committee three Moslem states did not cast their votes, including Pakistain.
The minister said that lack of harmony and unity among the Moslem countries was the main reason behind the various problems they were facing. "No enemy can harm Moslems if they do not become controllers of the enemy." He said everyone knew who had taken the Lion of IslamIslamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. The next target of the Lion of Islam group could very well be Pakistain.

[DAWN] Hearing a petition filed by Jamaat-ud-Dawa ...the front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba... (JuD) chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed challenging the presidential ordinance under which his group has been banned for being on the watchlist of the United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... , Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday issued notices to the principal secretary to the president and the secretaries of law, Cabinet Division and Establishment Division.
President Mamnoon Hussain last month promulgated an ordinance amending the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 with regards to proscription of terrorist individuals and organizations to include entities listed by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) ‐ in a move to declare Hafiz Saeed ...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat... -linked JuD and Falah-e-Insaniyat ...the current false nose and mustache of Jamaat ud-Dawa, which was the false nose and mustache of Lashkar e-Taiba... Foundation (FIF) as proscribed groups.
The ordinance amends Sections 11-B and 11-EE of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 (XXVII of 1997). Section 11-B sets parameters for proscription of groups, whereas 11-EE describes the grounds for listing of individuals.
Both sections would now include Sub-Section ’aa’, according to which organizations and individuals "listed under the United Nations (Security Council) Act, 1948 (XIV of 1948), or" will be included in the First Schedule (for organizations) and Fourth Schedule (for individuals), respectively, on an ex-parte basis.
Under Section 11-EE, the requirements were: "(a) concerned in terrorism; (b) an activist, office-bearer or an associate of an organization kept under observation under section 11D or proscribed under section 11B; and (c) in any way concerned or suspected to be concerned with such organization or affiliated with any group or organization suspected to be involved in terrorism or sectarianism or acting on behalf of, or at the direction of, any person or organization proscribed under this Act."
Hafiz Saeed contended in the petition that he established JuD in 2002 and cut off all ties with the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba ...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI... (LeT) but India continued to malign JuD for its past association with the banned outfit.
The petitioner said he was twice ‐ in 2009 and 2017 ‐ kept in detention due to India’s pressure. He added that the UNSC passed a resolution against JuD after which the government of Pakistain kept it in the watchlist.
The JuD chief termed it against the illusory sovereignty of Pakistain that an ordinance was issued to ban his organization.

The rickety vessels used are not seaworthy, and it is a miracle that many of them manage to make it across the Mediterranean. More than a million such migrants colonists, including scores of Egyptians, have crossed into Europe

[AnNahar] An investigation into anti-Moslem riots that spread in central Sri Lanka prompting the authorities to declare a nationwide state of emergency was announced Saturday by President Maithripala Sirisena.
A panel of three retired judges will probe the breakdown in law and order in the picturesque hill resort of Kandy, Sirisena's office said in a statement.
Three people died, 20 others were maimed and more than 200 Moslem-owned businesses and homes were destroyed in four days of rioting that died down on Thursday.
Eleven mosques were also damaged or completely destroyed by Sinhalese mobs, according to police who say the situation has been brought under control after a heavy military deployment.
A curfew in the district, which is 115 kilometres (72 miles) east of the capital Colombo, was lifted at dawn Saturday but army soldiers continued to patrol alongside police, officials said.
Sri Lanka's Moslem minority held their Friday prayers under military protection across the island amid fears of fresh attacks. However, a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package... the weekly religious activity went off without incident, authorities said.
Hundreds of Buddhist monks and activists staged demonstrations in Colombo on Friday denouncing the anti-Moslem attacks and urging authorities to take strong action against the perpetrators.
Police said nearly 150 people, including the main instigator, have been tossed in the clink Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un! over the unrest.
They named the main suspect as Amith Weerasinghe, a man from the mainly Buddhist Sinhalese majority known for anti-Moslem activism and outspoken social media posts, and said he was taken into custody on Thursday.
The government declared a state of emergency on Tuesday as the unrest escalated when a Moslem man was found dead in a burnt-out building, a day after a Sinhalese man died of injuries sustained in an attack carried out by Moslem men.
