[DAWN] The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Friday condemned the killing of over 100 students and teachers in the recent US bombing of a graduation ceremony at a seminary in Afghanistan’s Kunduz province.
By unanimously adopting a resolution, the house asked the federal government to raise the issue at international forums, including the United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... , to ’expose the US barbarism’.
Pakistain People’s Party MPA Fakhar Azam tabled the resolution, which was unanimously adopted.
The resolution declared the US attack on seminary inhuman and open terrorism and said the US aggression was an open challenge to the international community but no country condemned it.
Speaker Asad Qaisar presided over the session, which was requisitioned by the government.

[Tolo News] "Inner pressure, as well as internal, regional and foreign support will finally push the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... to say yes to intra-Afghan talks," the head of the HPC secretariat Akram Khpulwak told MPs in the Wolesi Jirga, the Lower House of Parliament, on Saturday.
"As per our information, discussions are ongoing among them (Taliban) and probably there might be some problems, but we are hopeful (about this process)," he said.
He said a big session of world religious scholars will be held in the near future. These scholars will declare the krazed killer’s war illegal.
"Religious scholars from across the world, at an organizational and union level, will announce that no war is legal against Afghanistan (government)," Khpulwak added.
The Wolesi Jirga session heard only the information provided by the HPC officials and MPs did not ask questions.
"The country is on fire. They should sit and talk at least once with representatives of the people," Saleh Saljoqi, an MP, said.

[AlAhram] Egypt has extended an ongoing nationwide state of emergency another three months, starting Saturday 14 April, the official gazette reported late on Friday.
The decree to extend the state of emergency, which was signed by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, says that the extension is to "allow the Armed Forces and police to undertake necessary measures to face the dangers of terrorism and its funding, safeguard security nationwide, secure private and public property, and protect the lives of citizens."
The state of emergency was first implemented in April 2017 after jacket wallahs attacked two churches in Alexandria and Tanta, killing 47 people and injuring dozens.
A new decree further lengthening it was issued in October and then extended in January. According the Egyptian constitution, a state of emergency cannot exceed six months from its date of declaration and decrees imposing or extending it should be approved by the parliament.
The state of emergency includes a curfew in parts of North Sinai from 7pm until 6am, except in El-Arish city and on the international road, where the curfew is in effect from1am to 5am.
Egypt’s security forces are continuing to carry out the comprehensive counterterrorism military Operation Sinai 2018.
Operation Sinai 2018 was launched earlier this year "to implement the plan of comprehensive confrontation of terrorist and criminal elements and organizations in North and Central Sinai, and in other areas in the Nile Delta and desert areas west of the Nile Valley," according to the army.
The current head of Britain’s Labour party puts hmself on the wrong side of yet another issue. Is there a single thing he’s right about?
[Al Jazeera] The leader of Britannia's largest opposition party is suggesting Theresa May, the prime minister, could face a backlash in parliament for her decision to join the US and La Belle France in launching strikes against Syria.
The Labour Party's Jeremy Corbyn says the allies' bombing is "legally questionable" and risks further escalating "an already devastating conflict".
"May should have sought parliamentary approval, not trailed after Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... ," he said on Saturday.
Corbyn said the strikes will make assigning blame for the use of chemical weapons in Syria "less, not more, likely".
"Bombs won't save lives or bring about peace," he said, adding that Britannia should be leading the response and "not taking instructions from Washington and putting British military personnel in harm's way".

OK. Suppose you succeed and pin the blame on Pencilneck. Then what?

'legally questionable' - in what manner, I wonder?
We had Obama; Canada has Trudeau and if things break UK Labor's way, they'll have Corbin, and apparently he's OK with Pencilneck and his chemical weapons.
[CNBC] The Associated Press, citing a Russian media outlet, quoted a top Russian official as likening Trump to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. Alexander Sherin, deputy head of the State Duma's defense committee, said Trump 'can be called Adolf Hitler No. 2 of our time ‐ because, you see, he even chose the time that Hitler attacked the Soviet Union,' the AP reported. Did Mr. Sherin go to Berkeley? Seriously, though, be wary the irrational man.

Note to Mr. Sherin, the Legacy Infotainment Enterprises (LIEs) in America have been doing that since the 2016 election. You are years late.
BTW, You think maybe the pucker factor has became tighter in Pyongyang?

"...because, you see, he even chose the time that Hitler attacked the Soviet Union,' "
By golly, you gotta admit - pointing out that Trump attacked Syria at about 0300 on April 13, and Hitler attacked the Soviet Union at about 0315 June 22nd, it all becomes so clear.

[DAWN] Prominent Islamic scholar Tariq Ramadan, who is in French detention over several rape allegations, is facing a new accusation of rape, this time in Switzerland ...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell... , a Swiss daily reported Friday.
A Swiss woman is pressing criminal charges against Ramadan, 55, alleging he raped her and held her against her will for several hours in a Geneva hotel room a decade ago, the Tribune de Geneve (TdG) daily reported.
When contacted by AFP, the woman's lawyer Romain Jordan confirmed that criminal charges had been filed in Geneva on Friday, but said he did not want to make any further comments at this stage.
"We are confident in our case," he said.
The alleged victim, who was not identified, is not the first to accuse Ramadan.
The prominent TV pundit and Oxford University professor, whose grandfather founded Egypt's Moslem Brüderbund movement, was detained by a French court in February over charges that he raped two Moslem women in La Belle France.

[WASHINGTONPOST] Tens of thousands of anti-government protesters marched Saturday in the Hungarian capital of Budapest, demanding a new election and a new national electoral system in the biggest opposition rally in years.
Prime Minister Viktor Orban was re-elected for a fourth term last week. His right-wing populist Fidesz party won a supermajority in the national assembly, with preliminary results showing that Fidesz and tiny ally the Christian Democratic party won 134 seats in the 199-seat legislature.
Opposition supporters are upset that Hungary’s electoral rules have given Orban’s party such a large majority in Parliament when it only won around 50 percent of the vote.
While the left-wing opposition parties won 12 of 18 seats at stake in Budapest districts, Fidesz won 85 of 88 seats outside the capital. The other 93 seats were allocated based on votes for party lists.
Protesters marched from the Opera to Parliament, shouting "New elections!" ’’We are the majority!" ’’Vik-tator!" and "Filthy Fidesz!"
The size of the crowd, overflowing from the city’s Kossuth Square outside the striking neo-Gothic Parliament, rivalled the pro-government "Peace March" held on March 15. Organizers said another anti-government protest would be held next weekend.
"We want new and fair elections," opposition activist Gergely Gulyas told the huge crowd. "This is the responsibility of the government and we’re going to remind them of this, peacefully and massively."
Orban, whose campaign focused on the demonization of migrants colonists, has promised "significant changes" in his next government, which could push for a constitutional amendment against migration.
A fragmented opposition, a complex electoral system that disproportionately favors the biggest party and Orban’s decision to greatly facilitate citizenship for Hungarians living in neighboring countries like Romania and Serbia all contributed to his large win on April 8.
Over 96 percent of voters in those bordering countries ‐ including areas that Hungary lost after World War I ‐ backed Orban’s Fidesz party.
"When I asked my grandparents why they allowed (communist dictator) Matyas Rakosi to stay in power for so long, they answered that they were scared," writer and journalist Gergely Homonnay, one of the rally’s organizers, told protesters. "Well, I’m not scared. We’re not scared." Two words, bub: Imre Nagy.

[DAWN] "Those peace-loving innocent citizens [of India-held Kashmire] are being subjected to one of the worst forms of state terrorism ... any action taken by a non-Moslem state that constrains the violent impulses of Moslems or their allies ... . It is high time for the world community to wake up and play a positive role in bringing peace to that unfortunate part of the sub-continent."
The army chief reiterated that lasting peace in the region can be achieved only through dialogue, saying: "It is our sincere belief that the route to peaceful resolution of Pak-India disputes ‐ including the core issue of Kashmire ‐ runs through comprehensive and meaningful dialogue.
"While such dialogue is no favour to any party, it remains the inevitable precursor to peace across the region. Pakistain remains committed to such a dialogue, but only on the basis of sovereign equality, dignity and honour."
Gen Bajwa said that even though Pakistain seeks harmonious and peaceful co-existence with all countries, "this desire for peace must not, in any sense, be construed as a sign of weakness".
"Our valiant armed forces are fully prepared to respond across the full spectrum of threat in a befitting manner."

[DAWN] Pakistain on Saturday conducted a successful test of an enhanced range version of the indigenously developed Babur cruise missile to bolster the country’s deterrence capabilities, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) blurb said.
The tested missile ‐ described by the ISPR as 'Babur Weapon System-1 (B)' ‐ incorporates advanced aerodynamics and avionics that can strike targets both at land and sea with high accuracy, at a range of 700 kilometres.
The Babur missile was unveiled in 2005 and since then has undergone several upgrades. It is a low-flying, terrain-hugging missile, which can hit targets both at land and sea with pinpoint accuracy, even in the absence of GPS navigation. It also has stealth features.
Equipped with the Terrain Contour Matching (TERCOM) and Digital Scene Matching and Area Co-relation (DSMAC) technologies, it can carry both nuclear and conventional warheads.

Anyone out there think that some of these cruise missiles are nuclear capable, or will that sort of thing take Pak engineers more time to develop?
#2
"incorporates advanced aerodynamics and avionics..." Getting it to fly is very advanced for the Paks. One can buy cheap "IFR" glass displays that incorporate build in GPS controlled autopilot nowadays, notably from a South Africa manufacturer.
Solution to this seems simple, send false GPS signal to the pak cruise missile and have fun with it. I would have it make a 180 and "return to sender" or someplace nearby where they would appreciate receiving it. Hopefully the sender would have enough time to mutter "rosebud" just before the actual package delivery.
[RFA.ORG] A British Rohingya man has been charged with helping the al-Qaeda Death Eater group build its base in the Indian sub-continent, according to a charge sheet drawn up by India’s top counter terror agency.
Suspect Samiun Rahman, 28, fought for al-Qaeda in Syria, then travelled to Bangladesh and India to recruit people to fight against alleged atrocities committed against Rohingya Moslems by Buddhist-majority Myanmar, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) said in a charge sheet made public on Wednesday.
Rahman served three years in prison in Bangladesh on related charges there before entering India in July 2017. He was incarcerated Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! in New Delhi in September last year.
"After detailed investigation of Rahman’s online chats on several mobile applications and documents recovered from his laptop, it was revealed that he fought against the Syrian army from an al-Qaeda base in Syria. He was then sent to Bangladesh due to his knowledge of the local language and was assigned the task of establishing an al-Qaeda base in the Indian sub-continent," the NIA alleged.
Rahman had served time in a London jail for a traffic violation before his first trip to Syria, the charge sheet said.
"After his release, he went to Syria for the first time to help refugees and returned to London after almost two months. In 2013, he again went to Syria and subsequently, after establishing contact with an al-Qaeda operative, he traveled to Bangladesh to radicalize youths," the NIA said.
India and Bangladesh are al-Qaeda’s prime targets for recruitment and terrorist plots besides the United States and Israel, Rahman told Sherlocks, according to the charge sheet.
Al-Qaeda was trying to tap potential recruits in several states, particularly the disputed Moslem-majority region of Indian Kashmire, it added.
Rahman was arrested in India’s capital last year on suspicion of being involved in terrorist activities after he allegedly crossed into Indian territory from Bangladesh illegally, according to the charge sheet, accessed by BenarNews, an RFA-affiliated online news service.

Shaking fists and stamping feet to no effect whatsoever. A number of countries likewise condemned the US-led attack. That will not undo what was done, nor prevent it the next time, which is why other countries were more measured in their response.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Spokesperson for the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Ahmad Mahjoub, stated on Saturday that condemned the US-led attack on Syria earlier today.
In a statement released late this afternoon, Mahjoub expressed Iraq’s disapproval over the attack, claiming that this strike will only strengthen the terrorist groups in the region.
Majoub stated that Iraq is preparing to hold a meeting with Arab leaders to adopt a clear stance regarding this perilous event.
Mahjoub would conclude his statement by stressing the need for a political settlement to the Syrian crisis.
Iraq joined Leb and Algeria to become the third Arab nation to condemn the US-led attack on Saturday.

[IsraelTimes] Envoys from Cairo said to worry about potential for 'serious deterioration'; official in the Strip vows to continue demonstrations
Senior Egyptian intelligence officials who visited the Gazoo Strip on Saturday reportedly asked Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", leaders to halt the weekly mass demonstrations along the border with Israel.
The Egyptian delegation, headed by Sameh Nabil, who is in charge of the Paleostinian portfolio in Egypt’s General Intelligence Service, entered the Gazoo Strip through the Erez border crossing with Israel.
A Paleostinian Authority official in Ramallah said that the Egyptian officials demanded during their talks with Hamas leaders in Gazoo City that the terror group end the protests, which began three weeks ago as part of the so-called March of Return.
"The Egyptians are worried that the confrontations along the border between the Gazoo Strip and Israel could lead to a serious deterioration," the official told The Times of Israel. "The Egyptians are also concerned that the festivities could move to the border between the Gazoo Strip and Egypt."
Egyptian intelligence officials who were trying to mediate between Hamas and Fatah left the Gazoo Strip shortly after last month’s attempt on the life of Rami Hamdallah, the PA prime minister. Hamdallah’s convoy was targeted by a roadside kaboom as he was on his way to inaugurate a water waste plant in the northern Gazoo Strip. Neither he nor PA General Intelligence Chief Majed Faraj, who was also in the convoy, were hurt.
Hamas officials refused to comment on the claim that the Egyptians were pressuring them to halt the "March of Return."
However, there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly... shortly after the Egyptian officials left the Gazoo Strip, Khalil al-Hayya, a senior Hamas official, announced that the mass demonstrations would continue "until they achieve their real goals."
The protests, Hayya said, will continue until May 15, when Paleostinians mark Nakba Day, the Gregorian calendar date for Israel Independence Day.
"Our Paleostinian people will continue the marches and the intifada against the Israeli occupation until they achieve the right of return," Hayya said, referring to the demand that Israel allow Paleostinian refugees and their descendants to return to their former homes inside Israel.
That will never happen, because it would be suicide for Israel to do so.
[DAWN] The government of Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi expressed "serious concern" on Friday over a move by the International Criminal Court prosecutor seeking jurisdiction over alleged deportations of Rohingya Moslems from Myanmar to Bangladesh.
Since August, nearly 700,000 Rohingya Moslems have fled a brutal military crackdown in Myanmar, the United Nations ...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships... and aid agencies have said.
The refugees have reported killings, rape and arson on a large scale. The United States and the United Nations have described the situation as ethnic cleansing.
Myanmar has denied nearly all allegations, saying it waged a legitimate counter-insurgency operation. The army has said its crackdown was provoked by the attacks of Rohingya turbans on more than two dozen police posts and an army base last August.

[Al Jazeera] The US and La Belle France have denied Russian claim that Syrian air defence had intercepted at least 71 cruise missiles fired by the US, the UK and French forces early on Saturday.
"None of our aircraft or missiles involved in this operation were successfully engaged by Syrian air defences," Lieutenant-General Kenneth McKenzie, the director of the Joint Staff at the Pentagon, said at a press briefing on Saturday.
He said there were no known civilian casualties, but noted Syria had fired about 40 unguided surface-to-air missiles, most of which didn't launch until after the allied strike was over.
"When you shoot iron into the air without guidance, it's going to come down somewhere," McKenzie said.
Earlier, French officials said that they believed none of their missiles was intercepted.
Speaking at a news conference in Moscow on Saturday, Lieutenant-General Sergey Rudskoy had said that at least 103 cruise missiles, including Tomahawks, were fired into a number of targets in Syria.
"Russia has fully restored the air defence system of Syria, and it continues to improve it over the last six months," Rudskoy said.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Jaish al-Islam ...Liwa al-Islam (Brigade of Islam) was established by Zahran Alloush, the son of Saudi-based religious scholar Abdullah Mohammed Alloush, after Syrian authorities released him from prison in mid-2011 where he had been serving time for his Salafist activism. The group claimed responsibility for carrying out the July 2012 Damascus bombing that killed Defense Minister Dawoud Rajiha, Deputy Defense Minister Asef Shawkat, and Assistant Vice President Hassan Turkmani. It was a driving force behind actions in the Damascus region. It cooperated and conducted joint operations with al-Nusra. In Sptember 2013 Saudi Arabia engineered Liwa al-Islam's merger with fifty other more or less Salafist groups as a counterweight to al-Nusra, which the Learned Elders of Islam considered was growing too powereful... murderous Moslems’ leader Muhammad Allush reportedly expressed indignation of the US-led strikes via Twitter and called it a "farce."
The strikes were launched in response to the alleged chemical attack in Douma, a city located in the Eastern Ghouta anclave near Damascus, which the West blamed on the Syrian government even prior to the launch of a probe into the incident.
Damascus has strongly rejected the allegations of the use of chemical weapons and emphasized that the claims are being used in order to justify aggression against the government.
According to the Syrian General Staff, the country’s air defense systems were able to shoot down most of the missiles launched by the US, the UK and La Belle France. Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Trampler of Homs... stated that the attack had only united the Syrian people in their fight against terrorism even more.
Earlier, Jaish al-Islam gunnies started leaving Douma under the framework of an evacuation agreement were forced to give up their weapons. Militants have also agreed to give up their heavy weapons.

[Daily Caller] As Russia and the U.S. traded barbs at the United Nations over the coalition strike on Syria, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley warned that the U.S. is "locked and loaded" should the Syrian regime decide to use chemical weapons again.
"I spoke to President Trump this morning and he said if the Syrian regime uses this poisonous gas again, the United States is locked and loaded," Haley said at an emergency U.N. Security Council meeting called by Russia. "When our president draws a red line, our president enforces the red line," she added, referencing former President Barack Obama’s failure to follow through on his threat to use military force in Syria should the Assad regime use illegal chemical weapons.
In response to a deadly chemical weapons attack allegedly perpetrated by the Syrian government under the leadership of Bashar al-Assad last weekend, a coalition force consisting of American, British, and French naval and aviation assets bombed three targets in Damascus and Homs said to be affiliated with Syria’s chemical warfare infrastructure early Saturday morning.
Russian guns were silent during the attack, the Pentagon revealed at a press briefing Saturday.
