Good catch. He'd really be finished politically if he had left a young woman to drown in his car because calling for help would have hurt his career.

Good lord ... are the entire lot of Dem wannabes one shingle shy of a roof?
One shingle shy? Are there any other choices not counting zero?
[RedState] The whistleblower complaint imploded big time yesterday when part of it was specifically called out as false by a senior government official, according to Christina Ruffini, the State Department and Foreign Affairs Reporter for CBS News.

Scoop: Senior Govt Official tells @CBSNews Counselor to the State Department Ulrich Brechbuhl was NOT on the @POTUS call with #Zelensky, as the whistle blower complaint states.

Another problem in the story also emerged, according to Fox.
[A]ccording to the whistleblower complaint, by mid-May, U.S. diplomat Kurt Volker sought to “contain the damage” from Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani’s outreach to Ukraine.
But a July 19 text message conversation from Volker to Giuliani, provided to Fox News on Thursday, showed that Volker had in fact encouraged Giuliani to reach out to Ukraine — even sending Giuliani a message reading, “connecting you here with Andrey Yermak, who is very close to President Zelensky.”
Additionally, the complaint said Trump “suggested that Mr. Zelensky might want to keep” his current prosecutor general, a claim not supported by the transcript.
But now there’s even more.
The whistleblower complained that there was nothing at all sensitive in the call. So that there was no justification for thereafter secure storage system in the NSC. The argument was that Trump just didn’t want people to hear the conversation.

A “White House official” is quoted by the whistleblower (WB) as objecting to the storage of the MEMCON transcript of @realDonaldTrump call with Zelenskyy in a secure storage system in the NSC. This was wrong (a cover up) because it contained “nothing remotely sensitive”. Nothing!

That’s categorically, 100% false. The President’s call with Zelenskyy contained references to both POTUS’s and the Ukrainian President’s opinions on multiple European countries and leaders, especially Germany/France and Merkel/Macron, as well as sanctions policy towards Russia

That’s why when originally classified the transcript was set at the SECRET, Original Classification Authority (ORCON), No Foreign Distribution (NOFORN) level

That classification was set because the diplomatic view of the United States (and POTUS) towards other countries and leaders can “cause serious damage to national security” if disclosed in an unauthorized way. In this case it could also damage the national security of Ukraine too

The administration also had another very legitimate reason for wanting to secure the information. Earlier in the administration, there were a lot of leaks they were trying to stop. According to ABC, more things were thus put in secure storage than previously.
So either someone in the chain of unreliable hearsay on the whistleblower memo was mistaken or someone along the way wasn’t telling the truth.

Kelly Conway said the transcript was stored on the secret server because previous conversations Trump had with leaders from Russia and Australia had leaked.

All very reasonable.
Which of course doesn't matter to the rabidistas.
[10News via CNN] President Donald Trump and Wayne LaPierre, the chief executive of the National Rifle Association, met Friday at the White House, an administration official confirmed to CNN.
The official declined to comment on what the President and La Pierre discussed during their meeting.
The New York Times first reported the meeting.
The paper, citing conversations with two people familiar with Friday's meeting, said Trump and LaPierre discussed how the NRA could support Trump during impeachment and reelectio These delicate c&*ts throw everything they have against him, including meeting with supporters. Not news, PATHETIC

It's good for Trump to meet with people advocating civil rights.
[THEHILL] President Trump on Friday demanded House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) “immediately” resign from Congress for reading what the congressman described as a parody of the president’s phone call with Ukraine’s leader that is at the center of a whistleblower complaint.
In a series of tweets early Friday, Trump accused Schiff of lying to Congress and “fraudulently” reciting a version of the call that made it “sound horrible” and made the president appear “guilty.”
“He was supposedly reading the exact transcribed version of the call, but he completely changed the words to make it sound horrible, and me sound guilty,” Trump tweeted.
“HE WAS DESPERATE AND HE GOT CAUGHT. Adam Schiff therefore lied to Congress and attempted to defraud the American Public. He has been doing this for two years. I am calling for him to immediately resign from Congress based on this fraud!”
Rep. Adam Schiff fraudulently read to Congress, with millions of people watching, a version of my conversation with the President of Ukraine that doesn’t exist. He was supposedly reading the exact transcribed version of the call, but he completely changed the words to make it...

...sound horrible, and me sound guilty. HE WAS DESPERATE AND HE GOT CAUGHT. Adam Schiff therefore lied to Congress and attempted to defraud the American Public. He has been doing this for two years. I am calling for him to immediately resign from Congress based on this fraud!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 27, 2019
Trump was referring to a moment at the outset of Thursday’s congressional hearing with the acting intelligence chief during which Schiff described Trump as saying on the call that he would tell Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "seven times" to "make up dirt on my political opponent."
Schiff later made clear that he was summarizing what happened on the July 25 call and that it was meant "to be, at least in part, parody."
"The fact that that's not clear is a separate problem in and of itself. Of course, the president never said, if I ‐ if you don't understand me, I'm going to say it seven more times. My point is, that's the message that the Ukraine president was receiving in not so many words," Schiff said.
Schiff immediately hit back at Trump on Twitter on Friday, accusing him of engaging in "a shakedown to get election dirt from a foreign country" and trying to cover it up.

I think, up to now, Trump was primarily concerned with implementing his MAGA agenda and not interested in settling scores. Lets hope that this'll change. IMO, removing the self-proclaimed elites from power is a lot more important than improving the economy - better economy just means that they've more to loot.

@#3: My sense of things is that once re-elected the gloves are going to come off and lots of people will go to jail. I also think he jettisons AG Barr after being re-elected.
No. We do not say things that can be construed as a threat to the lives of American citizens.

I've seen the same sentiment expressed here on numerous occasions. Maybe a little more subtle than how I said it, however, it would take some pretty soft logic to construe my opinion as a direct threat.

...that is true Skid, except SCOTUS who somehow found 'wording' in the 14th Amendment to give women and gays (and whatever) 'equal' standing before the laws says that there are Private and Public persons and that Public persons are not entitled to equal protection. Further, they seem to find that if the legacy infotainment enterprises mention their names they magically become public persons.

It's not Bernie, it's the sick sh*ts supporting him.
[BREITBART] House Democrats will hold a "discussion" Friday on "adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the Trump Administration’s policies and proposals." Yes, I do recall ducking and covering under my desk in a drill in case of nuclear war. My childhood was just fudging crippled. I shoulda gone to the UN to bitch about it.
As part two of a Health & Homeland Series entitled "A Conversation on the Effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and Toxic Stress", the discussion will include the topics of "indefinite detention of children, family separation, and the public charge rule."
"Adverse childhood experiences related to natural disasters and migration will also be discussed."
According to the event’s website page, Surgeon General of Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, Dr. Nadine Burke Harris and Obama Administration Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin will participate with opening remarks from John Hopkins Professor Dr. Maria Trent. "It's for the Chilruns"
"The event is sponsored by Rep. Bennie G. Thompson, Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, and Rep. Lauren Underwood, Vice Chairwoman of the Committee on Homeland Security."
The conversation is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Eastern.

Dems are not doing anything in Washington except go after Trump. Even this "discussion is partisan." Dems, how about doing something real for kids like stop human trafficking and addressing the drug problems in this country?
Tell me the Deep State fix wasn't in wrt the Ukraine telephone call whistleblower.
[TheFederalist] Federal records show that the intelligence community secretly revised the formal whistleblower complaint form in August 2019 to eliminate the requirement of direct, first-hand knowledge of wrongdoing.
Between May 2018 and August 2019, the intelligence community secretly eliminated a requirement that whistleblowers provide direct, first-hand knowledge of alleged wrongdoings. This raises questions about the intelligence community's behavior regarding the August submission of a whistleblower complaint against President Donald Trump. The new complaint document no longer requires potential whistleblowers who wish to have their concerns expedited to Congress to have direct, first-hand knowledge of the alleged wrongdoing that they are reporting.
The brand new version of the whistleblower complaint form, which was not made public until after the transcript of Trump's July 25 phone call with the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky and the complaint addressed to Congress were made public, eliminates the first-hand knowledge requirement and allows employees to file whistleblower complaints even if they have zero direct knowledge of underlying evidence and only "heard about [wrongdoing] from others."

Personally, I hope this keeps Schiff and that crowd busy until after the next election. At which time I hope they all are minority members of their committees again and Trump can again skip the inaugural balls to oversee Secret Service roundup of IC malefactors.

You Knew It Was Coming: Check Out The Whistleblower’s GoFundMe
Used to be they at least had to write a book. That's what I thought Christine Blasley Ford would do. But no. These days somebody sets up a GoFundMe for them. Isn't this all just a little too convenient?
As for threats, I thought that's what Trump was doing when he talked about the way we used to deal with spies. But at least he can fire them, right? When in doubt, fire them all.

With luck and fed up voters, they might not be returned to Congress. However, I wouldn't bet the farm on that.

We're going backwards in time. This syndrome is like something from an earlier century: political opponents find a patsy who will spread lies about the target, payments are made, the yellow press creates a scandal, the target is wounded or maimed, and the carnival moves on.
#16
Personally I am begining to wonder if there is a real whistleblower. Perhaps they do not really exists but are a construct of the DNC leadership, media, and 'deep state'. The complaint itself reads like it was written by a committee. He or she refused to step forward and be identified, it's based on heresay - and that was only allowed a few weeks ago...

As a minor minor participant in the Nixon era circus of political power struggles I can tell you there was no where near the vitriol that Trump faces today. Huge swaths of the executive branch senior civil service appear to be in active resistance and even clandestine revolt determined to undo the election of 2016.
What is equally clear is that the power centers of the democrat party have an electoral strategy of revolutionary socialism and impeachment as their sole aim. A question I never imagined I would ask in a serious manner is what to do about that..
