[ProPublica] Intelligence Chair Richard Burr’s selloff came around the time he was receiving daily briefings on the health threat.
Soon after he offered public assurances that the government was ready to battle the coronavirus, the powerful chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Richard Burr, sold off a significant percentage of his stocks, unloading between $582,029 and $1.56 million of his holdings on Feb. 13 in 29 separate transactions.
As the head of the intelligence committee, Burr, a North Carolina Republican, has access to the government's most highly classified information about threats to America's security. His committee was receiving daily coronavirus briefings around this time, according to a Reuters story.
A week after Burr's sales, the stock market began a sharp decline and has lost about 30% since.
On Thursday, Burr came under fire after NPR obtained a secret recording from Feb. 27, in which the lawmaker gave a VIP group at an exclusive social club a much more dire preview of the economic impact of the coronavirus than what he had told the public.

Senator Warner of VA did the same in 2008. They all do it and technically it is not illegal for them (unless the law changed after the 2008 $hit$how). The real dumb ones talk about it.

Wisdom = knowledge and experience. Anyone with market wisdom saw this coming by late February. Any broker who didn’t tell their clients to sell some holdings was not doing their job. If you don’t sell high you can’t buy low.

If you haven't read Peter Schweizer's book Throw Them All Out, you should. In the eyes of the Senate (and House) "Ethics" rules, Burr, like many before him (Feinstein, Pelosi, Kerry, Hastert) did nothing improper (but which would put you and me in jail).
One more reason why these old geezer politicians won't leave Capitol Hill--it's just too profitable.

To avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest, it might be best if high level politicians put those types of assets into a blind trust. We don't send them to Washington DC to get rich. We send them there to serve our interests. If they want to serve their own interests they should remain private citizens.

Still begs the q. as to whether someone whose spouse is president of a stock exchange should be allowed to hold a public office that provides advance knowledge of monetary policy. A less corrupt polity than ours would likely say No.

[DAILYCALLER] Hunter Biden’s hip hop record label recently folded after defaulting on its mortgage payments, Nevada state records reviewed by The Washington Free Beacon show.
The son of former Vice President Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...Failed seeker of the Democratic presidential nomination on multiple occasions, vice president under Barack Obama, giving it a last try in his dotage for 2020... founded Biden Enterprise LLC in 2018 alongside a 42-year-old Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, man named Michael Elisaldez. The company purchased a $365,000 property in Nevada last year to use as a recording studio, but it was unable to get off the ground and went into foreclosure last month.
The company advertised itself with rising hip-hop and country music stars, and still owes significant amounts of money in back pay to Republic Silver State Disposal Inc. over garbage disposal, according to the Free Beacon.
All of which is vehemetly denied by Sen. Graham.
[CR] George Orwell’s books are boring compared to the perfidious irony inherent in our government’s response to the China virus.
At a time when we need to shut off all immigration to deal with the concerns of Americans, Jared Kushner and Sen. Lindsey Graham are pushing for more immigration.
At a time when Americans are going to be desperate for every job available, these same players are pushing for more visas for foreign workers.
At a time when we need to engage in social distancing and decoupling from China, the source of this outbreak, they are pushing for a 650 percent increase in visas that will enable Chinese nationals not only to get green cards, but to own more of our land and businesses through "investor visas."

[GatewayPundit] Former FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate cussed, removed his microphone, and walked off of an MSNBC panel about the coronavirus on Thursday.
The panel, hosted by Katy Tur, also featured the Obama administration’s former Acting Medicare and Medicaid administrator Andy Slavitt.
The confrontation began when Slavitt said that there are plenty of supplies but the private companies are trying to profit off of them before releasing them “into the supply chain.”
Fugate argued that governors need to get prepared on their own, because “if we wait for the federal government, we’re too late.” He argued that the virus needs to be tackled at a local level and that it isn’t just up to President Trump, but also local officials, to protect their citizens.
Slavitt disagreed and claimed the problem was too large for governors to handle on their own — and that the real problem was supplies being hoarded in states that did not yet need them.
“So with all due respect to your other guest, there’s not a governor in the country that’s waiting for the federal government right now,” he said. “They are all acting. What they need is coordination because we have, believe it or not, we have masks, we have a lot of these things. They’re sitting in the supply chain, people are profiteering off of them or they’re going to places where people are hoarding them. That happens in a crisis. It’s only by someone looking through the entire system and seeing where those needs are, that you can say, ‘stop hoarding them all in Texas. We need them in New York right now.’”
That was enough for Fugate, who ripped off his microphone off and said, “I don’t have to sit here and listen to these bullsh-t people.”
“Look, these are trying times,” Tur chimed in as Fugate walked off. “And everyone is trying their best, and I know Craig is — I don’t know Craig personally, but I’m sure he’s working as hard and trying his best. Everybody is. These are unprecedented times. So, it’s understandable that he’s frustrated.”

[FoxNews] Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar unexpectedly praised President Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday night, saying it was "incredible and the right response in this critical time."
Omar, normally a staunch critic of the White House who herself has repeatedly drawn the president's ire, went on to quote Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., as saying "unprecedented times require unprecedented leadership" -- and, Omar added, "we are seeing that in our country right now."
"Finally, we should never let politics get in the way of good policy," Omar concluded. "This is a great start and hope others will be part of a united front to push for good policies that will help us work through the economic anxiety the country is feeling right now."
Omar was responding to a post by The Intercept's Lee Fang, who noted: "Trump suspending mortgage foreclosures, demanding cash payments to Americans, now invoking the Defense Production Act to force private firms to produce needed supplies is incredible. Kind of a shell shock for anyone who reported on any economic policies in the Obama years." For a "Readers Digest (pre-snowflake) tutorial on "The Fourth Turning", check out THIS. [NYPOST] Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard said Thursday she would suspend her presidential campaign and threw her endorsement to front-runner Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...Failed seeker of the Democratic presidential nomination on multiple occasions, vice president under Barack Obama, giving it a last try in his dotage for 2020... "Today, I’m suspending my presidential campaign, and offering my full support to Vice President Joe Biden in his quest to bring our country together," she said in a campaign email, Axios reported.
"I know Vice President Biden and his wife and am grateful to have called his son Beau, who also served in the National Guard, a friend. Although I may not agree with the vice president on every issue, I know that he has a good heart and is motivated by his love for our country and the American people," she added.
"I’m confident that he will lead our country guided by the spirit of aloha ‐ respect and compassion ‐ and thus help heal the divisive ...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled... ness that has been tearing our country apart."

[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] Target store representative Chrissy Teigen
...unlike Mrs. Trump, Ms Teigen has never done anything interesting enough to merit an entry in our archives. Apparently she is a swimsuit model, which means Mrs. Trump is better at their shared profession, too...
went off on a foul-mouthed rant against First Lady Melania Trump on Tuesday, calling her a “wifebot” and culminating in a filthy “fuck you”.
Teigen, who is married to popular musician John Legend, has a kitchen product line at Target called, the Cravings by Chrissy Teigen collection.
Teigen’s rant against Melania Trump:
“Has melania even thought about doing something with her be best shit during these times? I see regular ass awesome people on my timeline all day doing all they can to make people happy and this wifebot is working on whatever the fuck a tennis gazebo is…I expect Donald to be a do nothing fucking loser wimp but she could maybe possibly try to uhhh BE BETTER possibly the best be the best the best be best…ALL I have seen this bot do is gently touch Christmas ornaments in a cape and stare in a cape and pat statues in a different cape and then change her cape into a rude ass jacket. Fuck you”

And absolute sicko.
And wasn't Target one of the first to institute the gender-neutral restrooms/toilets?
I think I went to Target two times last year. I think I have room to reduce my visits henceforth.

Target went hard left long ago. 2004 they banned the Salvation Army. Why? Because a member of the Minneapolis business group who ran gay cruise line tours told them to.
Without naming her, their spokes women was my nextdoor neighbor and friend. Have not shopped their since. Well maybe a half dozen times because I had to.

I've never liked them. Admittedly I've worked for Wal-Mart but I never found better stuff than Walmart, just differently labeled chinese stuff that was the same as ours, only their employees were more snooty and the customers acted like their crap don't stink. So it's hard to boycott people you don't shop with.

Me neither. Wouldn't piss sh-t on her if she were a money tree. Which is a helluva thing to say about someone whose voice you've never knowingly heard, and whose image and character you know only from the sidebar of the Daily Mail. Can only imagine what kind of impression she makes in person.
Also, f-ck Target. If I wanted to toilet in a frickin' day care center, I'd... well, no I wouldn't, would I?
[JUDICIALWATCH.ORG] Judicial Watch announced today that Representative Adam Schiff ...Showboating U.S. Representative for California's 28th congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Schiff has served in Congress since 2001. He currently serves as the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In a manner reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, on March 22, 2017, in a interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC Schiff claimed there was “more than circumstantial evidence now” that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia." Todd followed up by asking if he had seen direct evidence of collusion and Schiff responded that there was "evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation"... (D-CA) and the U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence asked the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to dismiss the lawsuit against them for the controversial impeachment-related subpoenas for phone records, including those of Rudy Giuliani, President Trump’s lawyer. Schiff and the Committee are being represented by the Office of General Counsel for the House of Representatives.
The phone records led to the publication of the private phone records of Giuliani, Congressman Devon Nunes, journalist John Solomon, Trump attorney Jay Sekulow, attorney Victoria Toensing, and other American citizens.

So, when Schiff "ignores subpoenas" under the FOIA that is fine and dandy, but when Trump does it ---Impeach! Impeach! Impeach! Funny how that works out isn't it?

Schiff should able to hide behind his position or secrecy. He has to be scrutinized and answerable to someone. He is an elected official and should ultimately be answerable to the people through elections and/or through some legal process. He can't be immune to prosecution. No one is below the law or above the law.
[PalestineChronicle] Twenty-three-year-old American peace activist Rachel Corrie was killed by an Israeli bulldozer that was preparing to demolish a Palestinian home in the Gaza Strip in 2003. She was a western leftist who thought it would be a good idea to protect Muslims who would have thrown her off a building. Turns out it wasn't a good idea.Born on April 10, 1979, in Olympia, Washington, Corrie dedicated her life to defending Palestinian rights. In 2003, she went to the Gaza Strip as a member of the International Solidarity Movement. She was LARPing at being a radical. Until another LARPer came and put her in the role of flattening her out and making her a part of a complete breakfast. squish

I remember this. She lost her footing and slipped. The pic doesn't do it justice. These were military grade bulldozers with a much more obstructed view than a regular dozer.
