[Breitbart] Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) told Breitbart News this weekend that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would rather investigate President Donald Trump again than focus on the actual origins of the Chinese coronavirus and U.S. tax dollars that went to the Wuhan Institute of Virology from which intelligence officials increasingly believe the virus leaked.
Appearing on Breitbart News Saturday on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel, Reschenthaler discussed his efforts to investigate tax dollars that flowed through a New York firm to the Wuhan lab. He said that Pelosi and House Democrats are not interested in holding the Chinese Communist Party accountable and, instead, want to focus their oversight efforts on politically harming President Trump again just like they tried and failed with the partisan impeachment last year and earlier this year.
"We should have an investigative body looking at these grants, but Nancy Pelosi is not going to do that," Reschenthaler said. "So you have myself and House Republicans. I can tell you I’m going to continue to look into these grants. I’m going to continue to look into the Department of Homeland Security as well to see what grants are going from there to China. I’m also looking at defunding the World Health Organization and we can talk about that as well. But the bottom line of the Democrats’ behavior is this: They hate this president so badly that they would rather side with the Chinese Communist Party than defend Americans and defend our spending and spend wisely and just be honest. That is their hatred for President Trump and disdain for President Trump’s supporters."

It didn't happen, no investigation required, but the funding that didn't contribute to the outbreak has been cancelled:
A grant to a New York nonprofit aimed at detecting and preventing future outbreaks of coronaviruses from bats has been canceled by the National Institutes of Health, Politico reports, apparently at the direction of President Donald Trump because the research involved the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. The virology institute has become a focal point for the idea that SARS-CoV-2 escaped from the laboratory and caused the current COVID-19 pandemic, a scenario experts say is not supported by evidence. Instead, virologists The Scientist has spoken to say the virus most likely jumped from infected animals to humans.
The grant, first awarded in fiscal year 2014 and most recently renewed last year, went to EcoHealth Alliance, which describes itself as “a global environmental health nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting wildlife and public health from the emergence of disease.” The aims of the funded project included characterizing coronaviruses present in bat populations in southern China and conducting surveillance to detect spillover events of such viruses to people. The project has resulted in 20 publications, most recently a March report on zoonotic risk factors in rural southern China.

Well, that too. But it's a safe bet that Nancy has financial...um...dealings, let's say, with China that she does not want to jeopardize.

Because it's become unpopular to hang them, like they deserve. Need to change that.

Fortunately, we needn’t wait for Speaker of the House Pelosi to organize an investigation by the appropriate committees of the House of Representatives. The Senate can investigate, the Department of Justice can investigate, the CIA can investigate... and in the process, should it be desired, Madam Pelosi’s disinterest can also be investigated.
No need to get upset that a scorpion stings, when it can just be squished by heavy-soled boot.
[FOX] An anti-Trump Democratic-aligned political action committee advised by retired Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal is planning to deploy an information warfare tool that received initial funding from DARPA, the Pentagon’s secretive research arm -- transforming technology originally envisioned as a way to fight ISIS propaganda into a campaign platform to benefit Joe Biden. Is anyone else beginning to detect a pattern, or is it just me ?
The Washington Post first reported that the initiative, called Defeat Disinfo, will utilize "artificial intelligence and network analysis to map discussion of the president’s claims on social media," and then attempt to "intervene" by "identifying the most popular counter-narratives and boosting them through a network of more than 3.4 million influencers across the country — in some cases paying users with large followings to take sides against the president."
Social media guru Curtis Hougland is heading up Defeat Disinfo, and he received the funding from DARPA when his program was "part of an effort to combat extremism overseas." He explained in an interview with the Post that he was unhappy that top social media accounts often supported Trump, and had effectively defended the president in recent days from claims that he had suggested Americans inject themselves with disinfectant.

Perhaps some US taxpayer "DARPA" funded research intervention could have helped prevent the current CV-19 unpleasantness. Oh WAIT !

/\ I don't see a problem with a GOMO initiated 12 month recall. Some corner office on the E-Ring while he responds to the Article-32 investigation. Give him a laptop. He likes laptops. Mike Hastings can sort his mail and help take calls.

It is almost doubtlessly illegal for a number of reasons (the funding, the use, etc). But nothing will come of it, because "Resistance" to "Evil Orange Man" excuses any level of wrongdoing. Somebody could drop a nuke on Washington D.C., and as long as it wasn't a Republican politician, the Democrats would cheer as long as it killed Trump and Pence.
[FOXNEWS] Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer ...the dictator of Michigan... slammed the protesters who gathered inside the state's Capitol building on Thursday to demand she rescind her stay-at-home orders, saying they represented the "worst racism and awful parts" of U.S. history.
"There were swastikas and Confederate flags and nooses and people with assault rifles," Whitmer said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union." "Some of the outrageousnesses of what happened at our capitol depicted some of the worst racism and awful parts of our history in this country."
The Michigan governor, however, added that those people represented a small portion of the demonstrators at the state capital and that, for the most part, the protest was peaceful.
"When you think about the fact that this is a state of almost 10 million people, the vast majority of whom are doing the right thing," she added, "the behavior you've seen in all of the clips is not representative of who we are in Michigan."
Holding American flags and handmade signs — and with some carrying firearms -- the demonstrators in Lansing first congregated shoulder-to-shoulder on Thursday outside before demanding to be let inside the building as politicians were poised to debate an extension of an emergency and disaster declaration. Some chanted "Let us in," The bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit ... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang... News reported.
State Sen. Dayna Polehanki, a Democrat, tweeted a photo of what she described as armed demonstrators yelling above her. She said some of her colleagues were wearing "bullet proof vests" inside the House chamber.
"Directly above me, men with rifles yelling at us. Some of my colleagues who own bullet proof vests are wearing them. I have never appreciated our Sergeants-at-Arms more than today. #mileg," she posted

I wasn't there, but none of the pix I saw showed Confederate flags, swastikas or nooses. If there had been, I'd expect it to be front page news. And how the *bleep* does racism enter into this?

I wonder what the Founding Fathers would have said about this. Oh wait, there's no need to guess:
"Amendment I
Congress shall make no law...abridging...the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Amendment II
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

A huge number of our fellow citizens have been taught or generations that the second amendment was about self-protection and was increasing irrelevant and even dangerous.
Now is the perfect time to mount a campaign emphasizing that government overreach and disobedience to the constitution to which they all swore “true faith and allegiance “ is why the second amendment was written and buttressed right ext to the foundation right to freedoms of speech, religion and assembly.
Peaceful assembly by armed citizens should remind her of that intent, and that she trifles with it at her own, personal political peril.

Can’t wait until she returns to the place from which she came
[NYPOST] President Trump lobbed further accusations of treason against the former FBI officials who targeted Mike Flynn for investigation in the early days of his administration.
"The Russia Hoax is the biggest political scandal in American history. Treason!!!" Trump tweeted Saturday as part of a string of retweets focused on the Flynn matter.
The tweets followed Trump’s Thursday comments on a trove of newly released FBI documents showing that Sherlocks nearly closed the case against Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser, for lack of evidence — but kept it open in hopes of getting him prosecuted or fired.
Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying in that probe, has asked a federal judge to overturn the plea.
Trump’s tweet hinted that more revelations in the case could be coming.
"Lets see how it ends????" he asked.

Plans to Annapolis sold to the English because Continental Congress divided loyalties provided poor mans funding for the war efforts. Washington and Arnold used their own resources to conduct the war efforts. Strong sympathies in Virginia I was aware of in support of the English. Ball and Jack found tucked away in an attic of a 1000 acre estate in Dumfries Va. Ha, spellcheck had correction dummies.

California has always been close between red and blue until recently. We had Republican Governors alternating with Democrat Governors. I believe the vast hordes in California are mostly indifferent to politics but prefer a bit of virtue signalling to prove they are cool.
Newsom may motivate the indifferent. Maybe not enough to flip the state as Orange Man bad has been hammered in pretty solidly, but folks might be surprised to see the results of other races.
