At least nine sailors, including five chiefs and a lieutenant commander, have been charged in connection with sex trafficking operations in Bahrain since 2017
A further six other sailors have been administratively disciplined
The scandal first emerged in 2017 when a pimp turned informant came forward about a plan with a sailor to fly in Thai prostitutes to Bahrain
The prostitute, Lin Raiwest, said Gunner's Mate 2nd Class Jihad
...not a typo — I checked the body of the article...
H. Littlejohn had paid her to bring the women in
They would then stay at his apartment while they worked and he would allegedly hold them hostage by keeping their passports
He was cleared of all charges but the case sparked a larger investigation into the connection between the Bahrain naval base and prostitution
One chief reported that he believed up to 15 percent of sailors assigned to Bahrain were housing prostitutes in their off-post apartments
[Federalist] Cops are fighting back after a district attorney charged former officer Garrett Rolfe and officer Devin Brosnan over the shooting of Rayshard Brooks. The Democratic district attorney of Fulton County, Paul Howard, gave a bewildering press conference on Wednesday in which he announced a felony murder charge against Rolfe. If convicted, Rolfe faces a possible death sentence. At the press conference, the district attorney nitpicked the officers who were attacked while mischaracterizing the violent suspect as "not a threat" and "almost jovial" in his interaction with police. Another Gentle Giant™
Officers have reportedly stopped answering 911 calls, turned in their keys and failed to show up to their shifts.
Added Via Conservative Treehouse:
There is something rather unusual about the way DA Paul Howard framed the encounter between the police and Rayshard Brooks, because CCTV video and body-cam footage do not support the district attorney’s version of events. Obviously in a courtroom the defense is going to replay the DA statements while they run simultaneous footage of Mr. Rayshard Brooks resisting arrest, fighting with police and ultimately taking one of the officers’ tasers to use as a weapon.
The highly coordinated press conference narrative, as outlined by what seems like a not very astute district attorney, is very much at odds with what most people have already seen in the videos of the encounter. The purposeful disconnect gives the impression that DA Brooks is intentionally trying to throw the court case in advance.
There’s something very sketchy going on in the political background…. and I cannot help but wonder if Paul Howard Jr. is planning to be defeated in the next election (he seems in trouble) and is, as an intentional and self-centered plan, trying to set-up his political successor with a lose/lose scenario.
The eleven charges which include felony murder seem positioned from a district attorney who knows he won’t be around to deal with the case details. Howard can present himself as the community hero today and force his successor into the role of legal villain. That scenario is exactly what this looks like. Recently:
ATLANTA — Fulton County’s long-time district attorney faces two separate state investigations, but it could be voters who remove him from office.
District Attorney Paul Howard came in second in the primary election for his seat on Tuesday, the worst election showing he’s had since taking office in 1997. He now advances to a runoff with Democratic challenger Fani Willis.
“What you will overwhelmingly see, is that the people of Fulton County, Georgia, they desperately want a change,” Willis said on Wednesday. (June 10, 2020)
The lead investigative agency, The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), didn’t even know the press conference was going to be held today [LINK] and they have not completed their investigation. They had no idea the DA was going to file charges:

Soros bought off the district attorneys and judges very early on. Now, you can only sit back and watch criminals and chaos dismantle everything your fathers have built, while the judge's function is only to protect them against you and the few agencies of defence that remain.
This is not acceptable. And it won't resolve itself by voting for someone or hoping for the best. The power of the judiciary shall have to be taken from them somehow. Maybe resigning police can coordinate militias and citizens can raise their own community law enforcement ? I know its very 'Walking Dead', and the enemy seems to control the FBI who have considerable resources.
It's a rather difficult time. I only pray to God this great nation and its industrious children can fight off the enemy before it's too late. America was the first and is the last bastion of classical liberty in the world. And that's why it's such a threat to those opposed to liberty.
[NYPOST] The ex-Atlanta cop who shot and killed Rayshard Brooks will be charged with felony murder, prosecutors announced Wednesday.
Garrett Rolfe, 27, who was fired Saturday after shooting Brooks twice in the back during a scuffle outside a Wendy’s restaurant, will face 11 charges in all — including aggravated assault, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard said at a presser.
Meanwhile, ...back at the comedy club, Boogie ducked another tomato... a second officer at the scene, Devin Brosnan, 26, is cooperating with police in the investigation, Howard said.
"We have decided to issue warrants in this case today," Howard said as he opened the presser.
Howard said Sherlocks interviewed 10 witnesses and reviewed various videos of the incident, as well as the cops’ two Tasers.
Among prosecutors’ considerations was that "we noted from our evaluation was that Mr. Brooks on the night of the incident was calm, was cordial, and really displayed a cooperative nature" during the initial encounter, Howard said. Then he just snapped and went total MMA.
The two cops also did not check on Brooks for more than 2 minutes, while Rolfe at one point kicked him while he lay dying and Brosnan "stood on his shoulder."
Howard said police also did not tell Brooks that he was being placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
Howard had said Sunday that there were three "relevant" charges possible in the case — manslaughter, murder and felony murder.
But the prosecutor said it would likely be "between murder and felony murder."
He said then that Brooks "did not seem to present any kind of threat to anyone, and so the fact that it would escalate to his death just seems unreasonable. If that shot was fired for some reason other than to save that officer’s life or prevent injury to him or others, then that shooting is not justified under the law."

Caught the last of a new bulletin last evening that reported a 'Blue Flu' epidemic was in progress.
Just a few weeks ago, two Atlanta cops were fired for using a taser on a motorist. The use of the taser was billed by the mayor's office as "deadly force."
The late Mr. Brooks use of a cop's taser..... not so much. Strange, very strange.

But when it is used by a perp on police officers, it is not deadly force?
It's probably more dangerous to a person who is overweight, hypertensive, already suffering from heart disease and / or using various substances that affect heart rate and blood pressure (cocaine, meth, heroin, etc.)

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A suspect has been identified and charged in an alleged March drive-by shooting that left a 19-year-old woman dead.
Brianna Stephenson was shot on the morning of March 8 while inside a car at a traffic light at the intersection of Tuckaseegee Road and Freedom Drive.
Police say Stephenson was in a car, stopped at the light, when someone in another car started shooting. The family says a friend they didn’t know was in the car with Stephenson.
Stephenson died at Atrium Health just days later due to her injuries.
19-year-old girl shot at traffic light in west Charlotte dies two days later at hospital
Wednesday, police said they charged 18-year-old Christopher Chisholm in Stephenson’s killing. Chisholm was identified as a suspect and warrants were issued for his arrest. He was already in custody at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s office, police say. He faces charges of murder, discharging a firearm into occupied property and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Breaking wind in public may be a social taboo, but it's not often that people face financial consequences for it.
But that was the case for one man in Austria, who was fined €500 (£448, $564) after doing so at police in Vienna earlier this month.
The city's police have defended the fine, saying it was for more than that.
"Of course no-one will be reported for accidentally 'letting one go' once," Vienna's police department said on Twitter.
Responding after a photo of the charge sheet - issued for "violating public decency" - was shared on social media, the police department said the suspect "had already behaved in a provocative and unco-operative manner" when he was approached by police in the early hours of 5 June.
He then rose from a park bench, "looked at the officers and apparently intentionally released a massive intestinal wind in the immediate vicinity of the officers".
And, as the suspect found to his own cost, members of the city's police force "prefer not to be farted at".

"Dame Vera Lynn, who lived in Ditchling, East Sussex, passed away earlier today, 18 June 2020, surrounded by her close family."
Lynn was widely known as "the Forces' Sweetheart" as her performances inspired and gave hope to troops in Egypt, India, and Burma during the war.
The songs most associated with her include "We'll Meet Again" and "The White Cliffs of Dover".

He was reportedly giving the monkey alcohol on a daily basis.
The monkey was captured by the zoo and forest teams with great difficulty and was brought to the Kanpur zoo. The zoo doctor Mohammed Nasir said, "We kept him in isolation for some months and then shifted him to a separate cage. There has been no change in his behaviour and he remains as aggressive as he was. It has been three years since he was brought here, but now it has been decided that he will remain in captivity all his life."
Since he poses a lot of danger to people, he will spend his life imprisoned and sadly, without alcohol.

Pyongyang's state-controlled news agency KCNA said racism in the United States demonstrates the worst aspects of the world's largest economy, while the U.S. government takes issue with the rights records of other countries.
"Acts of racism carried out in the United States and the international community's criticism and condemnation are exposing the rotten and diseased human rights wasteland that is the United States," KCNA said.
"That the United States discusses the human rights condition of other countries is the result of double standards and an unbearable mockery of international justice," North Korean state media said.

[DefenseNews] One of France’s six Rubis-class nuclear-powered submarines, the Perle, burned for more than 14 hours "in an unbelievably fierce fire" June 12 in dry dock while undergoing major renovations by Naval Group, which were due to end in February 2021.
"There was absolutely no nuclear fuel aboard and not a single weapon. In fact the submarine was stripped bare," French Armed Forces Minister Florence Parly added June 13 during a trip to the French naval base of Toulon on the Mediterranean coast to see the damage.
"This was a fire, it was not a nuclear accident," she added.
The fire broke out at 10:35 a.m. local time at the front of the sub, which was in basin No. 3 in the Missiessy zone of the port. Workmen first noticed smoke on the lower deck.
Sources quoted by French daily Le Monde say the fire seems to have taken in a similar way to that of the Notre Dame Cathedral, with soldering work undertaken a few days before, which may have set something smoldering. The bits of wood and oil inherent to this type of renovation work could have fed the fire.
The Perle has been operational since July 7, 1993, and the ongoing renovations were designed to prolong its life until 2030.
It will take at least a month of investigations to understand whether the steel hull is so damaged as to make the sub unusable, according to Naval Group officials. The steel can withstand the intense heat of a fire for a certain number of hours, but engineers will have to check whether it has maintained the elasticity required to withstand wide variations in pressure when underwater.

Bring back mandatory residential mental institutions. The lovely idea of setting the low-functioning mentally ill free while providing community-based services clearly is not working for them or the community. There can be no right to be insane when it means little old ladies and everyone else must live in fear of bodily harm without warning — that’s what low-functioning means.
[NYPost] Rashid Brimmage sums up so much of what’s wrong with city services: Despite more than 100 arrests, he was free to walk the streets and allegedly push a 92-year-old woman to the ground for no reason.
At long last, Wednesday saw him held on $50,000 bail. His social worker says he suffers from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder; he’s plainly not getting enough help with that — nor has the public been protected from him.
Brimmage was nabbed Tuesday for knocking the elderly ex-teacher to the ground, as seen on video. Though her head hit a hydrant, she says her injuries were minor but she’s now suffering psychologically. "I’m fearful to walk the streets alone," she told The Post.
In all the years Brimmage has been getting arrested — more than 100 times, with 36 convictions — he’s nonetheless remained free to roam the streets. This year alone, he was:
Busted for a misdemeanor and harassment charge in The Bronx in February.
Nabbed for trespassing March 5.
Arrested on March 9 for criminal possession of a controlled substance, assault and attempted assault.
His regular, frequent erratic behavior (he’s also been hauled in for publicly exposing and fondling himself and grabbing a woman’s rear) brought countless complaints to the police. But they did little except give him tickets and send him back out onto the streets.
For all the billions Mayor Comrade Bill de Blasio ...cryptocommie mayor of New York and for some reason a Dem candidate for president in 2020. Corrupt and incompetent, his qualifications for office seem to consist of being married to a black woman, with whom he honeymooned in Cuba. He has a preppy-looking son named Dante, whose Divine Comedy involved getting his back hair up when a police car drove past him slowly. New Yorkers voted for him, so they deserve him... spends on the homeless and the mentally ill, including via his wife’s failed ThriveNYC program, people like Brimmage get ignored — until it’s too late. When will those funds be used to help the seriously mentally ill and protect New Yorkers?
Not to blame the mayor alone. City DAs too often opt not to prosecute. Judges refuse to detain defendants and impose light sentences on those convicted. And progressive state politicians won’t ensure mandatory treatment of the severely mentally ill. Instead, they make it ever-harder to lock up anyone, including hardened criminals.
The career criminal sex offender who randomly shoved a 92-year-old woman into a fire hydrant has as history of mental health problems dating back to his 18th birthday, his lawyer said.
Rashid Brimmage, 31, repeatedly blurted out interruptions at his arraignment Wednesday, as his attorney and a social worker tried to explain his mental health history to a Manhattan Criminal Court judge.
“Let the haters hate,” Brimmage said as a prosecutor suggested he get mental health treatment in jail. He then said: “Sorry, I was talking to myself.”
Brimmage — who has been charged with sexual abuse and groping women on the subway, public lewdness, harassment, criminal trespass and criminal possession of marijuana — is also accused of punching stranger
Brimmage was diagnosed at age 18 with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, which was when he started getting in trouble with the law, Khan said. His mother died 10 months ago, the lawyer added.
Brimmage hasn’t been able to get his medication because of the coronavirus crisis, said his social worker, Russell Morse. Brimmage hears voices, experiences illusions, and had walked himself to Lincoln Hospital just hours before the incident to seek psychiatric care, Morse said.
“The good news is that he is connected to a mental health community,” Morse said.
And yet, despite being connected to the mental health community until he ran out of medication, he has been causing similar problems for thirteen years, which the mental health community was unable to prevent.

The Aunt Jemima brand of syrup and pancake mix will get a new name and image, Quaker Oats announced Wednesday, saying the company recognizes that "Aunt Jemima's origins are based on a racial stereotype."
The 130-year-old brand features a Black woman named Aunt Jemima, who was originally dressed as a minstrel character.
The picture has changed over time, and in recent years Quaker removed the "mammy" kerchief from the character to blunt growing criticism that the brand perpetuated a racist stereotype that dated to the days of slavery. But Quaker, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, said removing the image and name is part of an effort by the company "to make progress toward racial equality."
"We recognize Aunt Jemima’s origins are based on a racial stereotype," Kristin Kroepfl, vice president and chief marketing officer of Quaker Foods North America, said in a press release. "As we work to make progress toward racial equality through several initiatives, we also must take a hard look at our portfolio of brands and ensure they reflect our values and meet our consumers’ expectations."
Kroepfl said the company has worked to "update" the brand to be "appropriate and respectful" but it realized the changes were insufficient.
Aunt Jemima has faced renewed criticism recently amid protests across the nation and around the world sparked by the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody.
People on social media called out the brand for continuing to use the image and discussed its racist history, with the topic trending on Twitter.
Aunt Jemima is "a retrograde image of Black womanhood on store shelves," Riché Richardson, an associate professor at Cornell University, told the "TODAY" show on Wednesday. "It’s an image that harkens back to the antebellum plantation ... Aunt Jemima is that kind of stereotype is premised on this idea of Black inferiority and otherness."

We, a white family, grew up with that brand. At that time it was a positive image. It was an accurate depiction of hard working African American women, even during segregation that lived up and down the country road we lived on. Those African American women were very kind, very good people.
Down the country road where we lived were two African Americans who lived in a farm house, Doke and Nellie Bostic. On down the road were more homes of African American's the brand reminded me of.
Nellie Bostic, one of the hardest working and sweetest people you would ever meet always had a big smile reminded me of the woman to the T of the picture that is this brand.
The image sold well back then amongst black and white Americans because it was the image of good people who were our neighbors and friends back in that day and age. This is the first time I have heard anything negative said about the image.
We moved from there, but 30 years later when my father was 80 years old I took him back to the old home place and we stopped at Doke Bostics house where a lot of now much older African American people were sitting in the yard talking. When he got out of the car, every one sitting in that front yard went crazy.
He later told me seeing all those people again was one of the greatest experiences he ever had.

Ireland's ancient kings married their sisters and fathered inbred children to maintain dynastic bloodlines
So did the pharaohs of Egypt. Even the Ptolemy dynasty adopted the practice when their namesake took over in the division after the death of Alexander the Great.
If you look closely at the marriages of the royal and aristocratic houses of the West, there are an awful lot of cousins. Queen Elizabeth, for example, is Prince Philip's third cousin through Queen Victoria and his second cousin once removed through King Christian IX of Denmark. What that makes her children to themselves I shudder to think, but it does much to explain both Charles and Andrew. It’s probably a good thing, genetics-wise, that Prince William married a commoner and Prince Harry married an African-American.
