[BREITBART] A 72-year-old homeowner shot and killed an alleged intruder he discovered in his Nashville, Tennessee, home Wednesday morning.
WSMV reports the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., when the homeowner, Henry Schuster, returned to his house after eating breakfast.
Schuster told police he noticed the screen from his kitchen window had been removed, making him suspect someone had made entry into the home through it. Schuster then pulled his gun and conducted a room-to-room check through the house.
When he entered the bathroom 27-year-old Taylor Lowery was allegedly there and "lunged at him grabbing for the gun."
Schuster responded by shooting Lowery, fatally wounding him.

Done with breakfast before 5:30. Gets home, kills crook. Day’s off to a good start.

Nah, I think my intruder smelled better...kind of a woodsy scent.
Made a mockery of the warning label on the Andersen windows about screens not keeping kids from falling out...I should tell them to add "or bears from climbing in".
[FOXNEWS] A lunatic black man was shot a killed by a Wisconsin police officer Thursday after authorities say he chased a woman with a pair of knives and then advanced on the officer.
Family members of Kevan Ruffin, 32, said he had psychiatric issues
...another one?
but believe his race played a role in the shooting.
If he was nuts, that’s all it takes, sadly.
Sheboygan, Wis., Police Chief Christopher Domagalski said coppers responded to a call that a man was chasing a women with "sai-style" kitchen knives at around 5:50 a.m.
According to a local news report, the responding officer tried to talk to him and fired his Taser before Ruffin allegedly charged him with the knives, "forcing the officer to use a firearm."
The officer has been put on administrative leave, which is standard in officer-involved shootings. The state's Department of Justice is investigating.
The officer, whose name and race has not yet been revealed, was wearing his body-cam which recorded the incident.
The woman was reportedly taken to the hospital to be treated and has been released.
Court records show that Ruffin was arrested several times between 2008 and 2019, but was often found not guilty due to his mental health issues.
"But because he was black, he was considered as a threat from the beginning," Sheriyah Appleton, a cousin, said. "This stuff has been going on all around the world, this is why everyone is protesting, this is why we are upset. The color of our skin should not determine whether we are taken into custody or taken to the morgue."
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in Wisconsin called for an open and transparent investigation.
"We need to know why Sheboygan police potted Mr. Ruffin instead of handling this in a nonviolent mostly peaceful way," Chris Ott, the ALCU Wisconsin Executive Director said Thursday.
[BIZPACREVIEW] The story involving Harvard graduate Claira Janover has taken on bizarre elements of a Seinfeld episode after the company she claimed she was fired from said that she never worked for them.
A teary-eyed Janover said she was fired from her "government and public-service analyst" job at Deloitte amid the fierce backlash over her threatening to stab anyone who dare to say "All Lives Matter," rather than Black Lives Matter.
The only problem with Janover playing the victim is that Deloitte confirmed that she was never an employee of the company, the Daily Mail reported Friday.
Deloitte managing director Jonathan Gandal told the British tabloid that Janover "has never been an employee of our organization."
Instead, according to Gandal, she was "formerly scheduled for a two-week internship later this summer."
There are no words. None whatsoever.
All of which calls to mind the Seinfeld character Cosmo Kramer getting fired from the fictional company Brandt/Leland, which he "accidentally" began working for, though he was never hired.

...Given the grammar the little snowflake used during the video, I got my doubts that she even knows where Harvard is much less graduated from it.

The key to graduating Harvard and other Ivy League universities is getting accepted. Grade inflation creates no separation of student performance. Most students get A’s in nearly all classes. The Diploma is one big participation trophy.

Some idiot even started a change.org petition to get "get her job back." 132 signers as of now. What a riot.

[CGTN] Regarding the treatment of COVID-19 patients, the official said the convincing results of the use of the combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin were confirmed.
Professor Moussa Seydi, head of the infectious diseases department at Fann hospital, said this combination will be continued in Senegal.

[JPost] - Mexican officials will install health checkpoints at various entry points along its northern border this weekend, as both Mexican and U.S. officials fear a surge of crossings for the July 4 holiday could spread the coronavirus. It's came to this!
Flyash Liberation Army! Assemble!
[Taiwan News - ht to 3DC] As torrential rain ravages southern China for the second straight month, the government has issued a number for a massive flood of the Yangtze River Basin, which threatens to further overload the Three Gorges Dam.
A "No. 1 Flood" has been announced for the Three Gorges Dam headwaters. According to China's major river numbering regulations, when the inflow of the Three Gorges reservoir reaches 50,000 cubic meters per second and the water level in the middle reaches of Lianhuatang rises to the warning level, the flood will be assigned a number.
With the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) on Thursday (July 2) issuing a heavy rain warning across China for the 31st straight day, netizens continue to speculate about the integrity of the Three Gorges Dam as it faces its greatest test since completion in 2003. Although Chinese officials have repeatedly labeled fears the dam could suffer a catastrophic collapse as "nonsense," the region continues to be battered by heavy flooding, landslides, and on Thursday an earthquake.
At 4:07 a.m. on Thursday, a magnitude 3.2 earthquake rattled Zoige County in Sichuan Province at a shallow depth of 8 kilometers, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center. Though an extremely shallow earthquake with a focal depth of 8 km, it raised concerns that landslides could threaten the safety of the dam.
At noon the same day, the Changjiang Water Resources Commission (CWRC) issued an urgent warning that the upper reaches of the Yangtze River would witness the "Yangtze River's No. 1 flood of 2020" (長江2020年第1號洪水). By 10 a.m., that day, the CWRC reported that the inflow of water to the Three Gorges Reservoir would be 50,000 cubic meters per second, matching the rate seen in the 1998 floods.

The takeaway I got here is all those Chinese flocking to where the dragon is, only to be eaten by the dragon. Look like the USA is not the only country with stupid people.

I believe the same problem exists vis-a-vis the USA. Chinese postal rates were way out of whack. It was reported that the Trump admin was going to attack the problem that made it possible to ship much more cheaply from China than to buy at home. I'm not sure they have done so.

That the UN can push anybody around is pathetic. Be that as it may. That China--with a bona fide space program, nuclear weapons, etc. etc.--is considered a developing nation is absurd beyond belief.
But, once the US is finished committing economic suicide, China will be there to claim the #1 spot.

Packages from China still have a price advantage, but a smaller one now.
When the third-ever extraordinary congress of the UPU voted to adopt a compromise plan — deemed Option V, for victory — the 192 member countries ushered in an era of international mail wherein eventually, all members will have the chance to self-declare their terminal dues, or effectively, the rates that foreign postal services will charge for service when mail or a parcel crosses their borders.
The U.S. will be the first nation granted this ability. A UPU spokesperson told Supply Chain Dive the U.S. must submit self-declared rates for validation by March 1, 2020, and those rates will be published by April 1, 2020, then go into effect July 1, 2020.
The grievance that U.S. officials cited in their intention to leave the UPU was the mandated cheaper rates granted to countries designated as "developing" — namely China. Before Option V, packages originating in China weighing less than 4.4 pounds were cheaper to ship to the U.S. than packages of the same weight traveling within the U.S.
New rates will initially be capped at 70% of domestic rates with the option to increase 1% every year up to 80% — meaning some international shippers will maintain the advantage the administration objected to, just a much smaller one.

[BUSINESSINSIDER] Twitter is dropping coding terms like "master" and "slave" and replacing them with inclusive alternatives, like "leader" and "follower."
The move was boosted by the Black Lives Matter movement, but it also comes after a months-long campaign to replace the coding terms with inclusive language, an effort that was spearheaded by two Twitter engineers.
Tech's broader open-source community has been met with pushback for its use of software terms that are inspired by the language of slavery and oppression.

Local citizens and alumni should be enough support to keep the name. Snider should tell FedEx to take a hike. They can easily get another sponsor if they wanted.
#3
You First! Tell FedEx that "If FedEx changes all of its's logos, repaints all its vehicles and changes all stationary, Then they will change the Redskin logo." We are talking about a serious investment in the logo and everybody wants the NFL team to eat the loss for free -- because The feelz!

Other than plague years, Albuquerque holds a Native American event, the Gathering of Nations. You tend to see participants wearing Washington and Cleveland paraphernalia with the logos.

@#4 - Exactly. If there were thousands of Native Americans protesting in the streets of DC & Cleveland, then that's one thing. But we know there aren't. Not even remotely close.

1) They've been trying to change the name of the Redskins for a while; Snyder has yet to bend over. Will be interesting to see what he does now that they've turned the outrage amps up to eleven.
2) IIRC there was a poll (native Americans only) on this very issue; there was overwhelming opinion to keep the name.
